RMA Time - Creative Zen Visio

Its been 8 days since they recieved my Creative Zen Vision:M, they accepted the RMA due to cosmetic damage (before you say, it came scratched and after a few days it got alot worse) and its still on the testing for fault part. Come on, it doesnt take 8 days to test a cosmetic problem. It was sent as high priority and im finding the service really slow.Message Edited by thrice2 on 03-03-200607:4 PM

For some reason, they recieved my Vision:M on the 7th and they have determined it to have a hardware problem. However, nothing since then has been done. No replacement has been sent, no contact, no?change in the RMA page,?no nothing. When I contacted customer service they tell me the same BS over and over but dont answer my question: "There is an approximate 0-5 day turnaround from the day we recieve your product." I know that already and its been told to me over a million times, I just want them to keep me posted on what the hell is going on! And for the record it has been?20 days and still no update.

  • Help organizing files through computer:Creative Zen Visio

I had a Creative nomad jukebox Zen Xtra previously. With that MP3 player, I could load a CD then explore the MP3 player through my computer. On that MP3 player I was able to sort by artist, cd, song, size etc easily. With the Creative Zen Vision M I am having a hard time. At first I was loading them in a way that I could sort by song etc but it was having issues when I would load the same song name off a different cd. Example: it would bark if I loaded Ben Folds Fi've: Brick, then Ben Folds Li've: Brick, It thought that the file was a duplicate and wouldn't allow it. I now rip my cds from the creative media source which is what I did with my previous MP3 player. It loads the cd's onto my MP3 player as folders but now I am not able to easily search by song etc. Makes it a real pain to search by artist.Anybody have any tips?

The Playsforsure firmware creates folders for music by artist name. Some people prefer this method but there is the disadvantage you mentioned of not being to search easily by artist/genre/album/track, and also tracks cannot be moved between folders when they are on your player. If the first problem bothers you and you want to work around it, rip CDs to your PC music library only, then transfer the tracks manually to the 'music library' section of your player via MediaSource. This should allow all the tracks to appear all together under 'music library', not in individual folders. The advantage of the new system is that you don't have to wade through a huge list to find the song you want.Message Edited by joshua32 on 05-22-2007:48 PM

  • Questions on Creative Zen Visio

Well I really want a Creative Zen Vision:M. Im a little tired of iPods and I have done alot of research and found that the Zen is alot better. I have only one question is it compatible with the mac? If it isnt is there any way to make it work on the mac? Thanks in advance.

Creative doesn't produce any software or applications for the Mac but there is an opensource package available (for free) that does appear to work. http://www.wentnet.com/projects/xnjb/

  • Retrieving songs from Creative Zen Visio

    Hello,
I am trying to copy a folder featuring most of music from out of my Creative Zen M back onto my desktop. Whenever I hit paste, I get a message saying that my device is calculating how long it will take to transfer the files. This message usually lasts about 30 seconds, then the folder appears on my desktop--without any of the files inside of it. Is anyone else having this problem? Any tips/hints are appreciated.

Tried a drag-and-drop? I know this sounds a little obvious, but I don't think copy-paste works properly - it's all to do with the restrictions MTP formatting has (i.e. copy-protection).

  • Screen\Back Light Problems with Creative Zen Visio

I hope someone can help me here.
A couple of weeks after i had bought my Creative Zen Vision M the backlight on the player would flicker until it eventually went out. The player works fine besides this. I sort of hoped it might come good (i don't know i suppose i thought the creative fairies would come and fix it ) but its been a few months now and the backlight still flickers .. Has any one else had this problem..Would downloading drivers or something fix the prob?.. any help would be greatly appreciated....
    Thanks

Try Upgrading your firmware of the playerGo download section and leech the latest version there. If that still doesn't helps, i'll suggest you to exercise ur warrenty :smileytongue:

  • Having trouble with my Creative Zen Visio

I recently had a lot of computer trouble due to that fact that family members think they know what they're doing and delete things off of the computer that aren't supposed to be deleted. Today, I was forced to reinstall my operating system back to factory settings, so things that weren't working are working now. I have only one problem.
I reinstalled my Vision M, and plugged in the USB cord, to find out that my computer no longer, (and for whatever reason,) detects my Vision M. Which is extremely annoying, seeing as I'd like to upload some songs to it sometime in the near future.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have encountered similar problems with my Zen when overhauling or re-programming parts of my computer. The current firmware for your player requires the most recent drivers, Windows drivers, and Windows plug-ins in order to detect your player. I suggest you visit the Creative Downloads page for your player and make sure these programs have been properly installed on your computer.
I currently use Mediasource Organizer as my principle program for manipulating and transferring content. However, I occasionally use Creative's older media organizer, Playcenter 3, and for this I require a specific Windows plug-in for my operating system. Once installed and the computer rebooted, I have no problems.

    Thanks,

of course it does. you have to put the songs in sepereta folders zvm to understand that they are in dfferent albums. so don't decide to keep your zvm depending on this problem.

  • More accessories required for Creative Zen Visio

I bought my Zen vission M about three months ago. I am very pleased I bought this versus the IPod. However I am constantly amazed at the lack of technical and product support for Creative in Australia where I li've. Sure there is a very poorly advertised creative shop in strathfield or somewhere. There are several Creative sites, many of which do not help. I also find that when I am talking to sales people even in Creative selling stores, they look at me blankly when i ask any questions on Creative products. Somehow I think the marketing guys at Creative need to get out there and contact and educate retailers on what a great competitor (only) to the Apple iPod which I personally believe is overrated and very dependant on a follow-the-masses syndrome ie. its cool to have an IPod. well after owning a Creative Vision M for nearly 3 months I reckon it is way cooler.. Only thing is that the support for it including the hard to understand zencasts without the video capacity at the moment (v.disappointing)> I really think that Creative product team and marketing need to address this otherwise they will find it hard to compete with the inferior apple iPod. Creative are shooting themselves in the foot by not lifting their game and trying to be more of a head to head competitor to Apple. Creative by the way in my opinion is much better and quality product. We just need the manufacturers and marketers of Creative to believe this and demonstrate what we the Zen play owners know...that it can beat the iPod hands down, no question about that.

  • Are there any cases for creative zen visio

because i'v looked everywhere and alls i could find was the pouch that comes with it and the leather pouch that i found on this creative web site. got any suggestions

I'm glad to see Creative have a case at least, but I've not heard of any others. I'm sure given time, and if the player proves popular, other cases will appear. It's worth emailing case manufacturers such as Vaja (if you are rich!) to register interest, as this often spurs them to produce one.

  • Creative Zen visio

i would like to ask you whats the way of chargeing the built-in battery, does it charge ower the USB, or does it hawe a charger?
can you play music or video and charge the player at the same time?Message Edited by Foralltime on -9-200604:29 AM

from what I've read you can charge the ZVM through the USB port from your computer to the player. I've also read that really the best way to charge the battery is through the DC port on the sync adapter and an AC charger which you now have to purchase separately.
You can also use the DC port on the sync adapter and your computer USB port.
As I understand it, the circuitry used for player USB to computer USB charging is different that when you use the DC port on the sync adapter.
I *think* that you can listen to music while you charge using the sync adapter DC port.
    I don't have a ZVM, but I've been drooling a lot

  • Changing the alignment of text on the Creative Zen Visio

Ok after having the Vision:M for a very long time it finally has a crack in the screen. The crack has turned into one big black blob and is on the left side which is covering up the text. Is there is a way to change the alignment of everything on the player so everything is aligned to the right side? Which would let me see artist names etc...

Hi, i have a similar situation without the icon. I have a button whose text is to be left aligned. Here is the snippet of code i have. But, it is not working.
    linksButton = new JButton(link);
             linksButton.setHorizontalTextPosition(SwingConstants.LEFT);
             linksButton.setBounds(xComp,yComp,width,height);

  • About my creative zen visio

i don't know why but i can't connect my mp3 player on my laptop!!! that's really annoying, i installed the program in the computer but it doesn't want to recognize it so i can't do anything with it (i have windows XP) can someone tell me why and explain me hw to get through? Thanx a lot!

It may be that you have already tried this - but what the heck. As I recall, the instructions say that you should install the software for the ZVM first, and then, afterwards, connect your ZVM, at which time it will be recognized by your computer. If you had your ZVM connected to your computer WHEN you installed the software, that may pose a problem. I would suggest the following Do a software uninstall to remove all the original installation.2) Check your hardware installation from the Windows Control Panel to see if it shows the ZVM as an installed piece of hardware. If it does, then uninstall the hardware installation. At this point you should be clean and can start fresh. Do NOT plug in your ZVM, then load your software first. At this point, I would recommend shutting your computer down, and restarting it. After the restart, plug in your ZVM, and hopefully it will be recognized and Hardware Wizard should install it as hardware. Don't know if this will do it for you, but good luck anyway.

  • What online stores are compatable with the creative zen visio

i just want to know what i can use to get my music and videos?

For video, I'm not sure if there are any stores yet. I have vague memories of one or two reviews mentioning upcoming sites, so I would search through some of the old posts for review links. There was mention of the BBC providing programmes that would be in a suitable format, but that was a future project.
I assume the Vision:M is MTP compatible, which means you can use subscription sites, depending on what's available in your country (this forum covers three large international regions). You can also of course use standard licensed WMA files.
There's a great thread here on sites to get music from.

  • Transfering with Creative Zen Visio

My computer cant connect with my vision w so i cant transfer files.... There is always trouble in installing the hardware thats what my computer says...

This will only allow non - duplicate tracks. The player won't let you have more than one song with the same file name; it will ask you to overwrite when you transfer any file that has the same name as one that's already on the player. The easiest way for you to have all the Pearl Jam songs is to name them appropriately. I suggest a program called Tag Scanner.
    http://xdev.narod.ru/tagscan_e.htm
This program will allow you to Tag each song (artist, track title, and album) and then rename them appropriately. For you I suggest putting the date or location of the li've recording in the track title; here's an example:
    Artist: Pearl Jam
    Title: Ali've (9/26/94)
    Album: Li've Recording
After each track is tagged. Tag Scanner can perform a batch rename. This will allow for multiple copies of the same exact song but with slightly different names. You can then fill your player to your hearts content.
