RMAN Backup Issue when Full backup file was missing

Hi,
On : 11.2.0.2 version, Recovery Manager
RMAN Backup issue
Last week we had the NFS Issue where we backup the files onto NFS.
The problem occurred in the below sequence
Saturday the backup was successful
Saturday before deleting the backup files they are copied to tape
Deleting the backup files via OS command
Sunday Full backup started but due the NFS issue backup failed(Killed the instance and restarted)
Did the RMAN Incremental backup which worked on Monday
On Tuesday RMAN started complaining and started doing the Full backup.
no parent backup or copy of datafile 1 found
no parent backup or copy of datafile 3 found
no parent backup or copy of datafile 24 foundSony any idea why the Incremental backup worked on Monday but not on Tuesday

Ok here is why I would like exact filenames..
1) to speed the time of recovery. I am much more familiar with traditional recovery methods than RMAN, and while I myself installed and suggested RMAN for backups, our other (11i) database does not use RMAN and so I am more familiar with traditional recovery. So to be able to recover quickly I want to have these files as close as possible to the original names so that I can use my standard script (from a trace file) to recreate the control fiile. If I can get RMAN to spit out the filies with original names but keep RMAN for making the backup, I may ditch the rman bacjup script in chron and write a traditional hot backup script which copies the files the old fashioned way.
2) to reduce cloning time. The RMAN duplicate command is not as good as I thought. I was actually easier for me to restore RMAN backups first to a box that has all the same paths, and THEN shutdown (cold) these files and copy them cold to another server, and restore from there. Agaiin if I can get the original file names, I could choose to do recovery either way (RMAN or traditional) in a real emergency instead of being forced to use rman.
3) to be able to switch to a backup file in the FRA without having to rename it. Seems logical if it is already named correctly.

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.

The point is that you're a customer, and the company needs customers, so the individual who's failing to deliver good service needs to be identified so they can be properly trained, and so that problems in the system can also be identified, but more important is that you get the service you're entitled to.
If you search the forum for similar questions, you'll see the kind of information that the volunteer users like yourself on the forum need to know about your system and files involved, so they can help you better.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

It's something to do with the main user account (not iTunes account) on my Mac because I logged in with another account and it downloaded fine, I installed it on the HDD and even though the date in App Store was 16th October 2014, it is the full installer of 10.10.2.
To try to resolve this problem, I have copied the installer app elsewhere and deleted it but App Store still will not allow me to download it with my main user account yet just allowed me to update iTunes.
I had a brainwave last night that it might have been related to me changing the default downloads folder to one not on my boot drive (to save disk space on my main boot drive) but having changed it back, tried again, rebooted and tried yet again, deleted my App Store preferences. nothing has worked.

Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.

Thanks Paul; but, taking your suggestion didn't solve the problem. As mail is part of the OS, the updates don't have the capacity to reinstall applications; so, I had to reinstall the OS. I now have my mail back (although it didn't appear on the dock--I had to go to applications and activate it and then put it back in the dock. Thanks again for trying.

I modified the VI again by using the General Error Handler, by placing it after the Read from Binary File. The Simple Error Handler will be as is. When I build and ran the application the Error 4 do not show up anymore.

Manipulate a object serialized file when the .class file is missing

I want to know if it is possible to recovery the object when its class file is missing! I guess it needs to manipulate the file and extract the values and ask user to name the values, after that, create a new class file for future use. However, I don't know how to manipulate the object serialized file. I really appreciate any hints you guys can give

I suppose if you created the class file, with the same name, package, and unique serial ID, fields, etc, it can be done.
Another option is to not use serialization if you are just trying to recover the data. Again you would need to know what the datatypes of the fields are to know what it is you are trying to read, how to parse serialized data, etc. Some Objects are easy to read, like Strings. The more complicated ones are the simple datatypes.

Time machine issue: always full backup after upgrade to Mavericks

I just upgraded to OS X Mavericks - since then, each Time Machine backup is a full back (Instead of just backing up the differential between backups) - I couldnt find the answer on the web, pls help! Thanks

It depends on how large your backups are, and how you're connected. Ethernet will be faster than WiFI, of course, but will still take a while. The indexing may be done at the beginning of the backup, during it, or after it seems to be done (if the backup says it's done, but it doesn't eject the Time Machine Backups disk image, it's probably still being indexed).
I'd guess a few hours, again depending on how large your backups are.
At what point should I give up on it?

Autonomy Backup Client - issue with full backup but incrementals okay

We run Autonomy to back-up our Laptops across the enterprise .
I notice on one laptop here that the account within Autonomy Admin shows taht "Last known good full backup = Not applicable", but when you go into client history you can see that the incremental backups have been happening okay.
Should I be conerned? Is this backup file corrupt? If so, how please can I fix with minimal impact to the user.

For this unless this is a HP software product you need to contact the Software manufacture that you use for your backup for support on their software...

If you click the iPhone button in the sidebar or in the top right corner, you should should see the Back Up section where you can click Back Up Now.
Or you can right-click the iPhone button and click Back Up

RMAN restore from older full backup.

We take full backup every Wednesday (7/2, 7/9, 7/16 and 7/23). I need to restore the database from 7/2 backup. No recovery is needed. How do I do that. Thanks for the help.

You can specify the BACKUPSET or TAG you want to restore from on the restore command.
RESTORE ... FROM BACKUPSET
RESTORE ... FROM TAG = '..'

Why do you need that specific backup? If you were restoring to a point in time before the 7/9 backup then RMAN will work out to use the 7/9 backup. If no recovery is needed I assume you're testing a restore using VALIDATE and/or PREVIEW?

install TimeMachineBuddy widget and see exactly what it says. also install TimeTracker and see what exactly is being backed up every time

but first, verify both the internal and TM drive with disk utility. verify disk, not permissions. if it reports any errors repair both drives. you'll need to boot from the snow leopard DVD to repair the main startup drive.

I'm trying to open an art file I've been working on for the past week in Photoshop CS5 Extended, and I'm getting a message that my request cannot be complete because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered. I have no idea what to do. I've been a Photoshop user for 14 years, and have never seen a message like this before.

Hi Curt...I'm new here, so I'll get the hang of it. Thank you for your quick response. I'm using the Mac OS X version 10.6.8 I'm a digital artist and was working on a psd file. I use a wacom tablet and all of a sudden everything stopped responding. I had to force quit Photoshop and open again. That's when the window telling me an unexpected end-of-file was encountered. So much work has gone into this piece of artwork, so needless to say, I'm beyond frustrated. I had saved this work along the way just so I wouldn't lose it, but now this unexpected twist. I will try what you suggested to see if it will help.
