I was executing RMAN DUPLICATE and received this error?

Anybody knows how to fix this error?

I had this file only in CLONED databae $ORACLE_HOME/dbs. I copy this file into SOURCE database $ORACLE_HOME/dbs. Since duplicate initiation going from SOURCE to CLONED. May this is problem?
I am going to re start Clone process and let you know if this was the case

    Hi.
    The command "List Backup of database" is OK and list
    the last backup.
    If I can´t to do a duplicate with different
    plataforms, what can I do?
    Thanks in advanced.Like said, use Transportable Tablespace, check Oracle doc,

  • RMAN duplicate target database error

    Hello,
    I’m trying to use RMAN ‘duplicate target from active database’ to a remote host however I’m getting a confusing error:

    RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on aux14 channel at 11/19/2009 13:47:23
    ORA-19504: failed to create file "+DATA2"
    Here’s my script:
    connect target sys/<password>@node1;
    connect auxiliary sys/<password>@node2;
    spool log to '/u01/app/oracle/dba/duplicate111909.log'
    run
    allocate auxiliary channel aux11 device type disk;
    allocate auxiliary channel aux12 device type disk;
    allocate channel aux13 device type disk;
    allocate channel aux14 device type disk;
    duplicate target database to node2 from active database DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='+DATA1','+DATA2';
    release channel aux14;
    release channel aux13;
    release channel aux12;
    release channel aux11;
    spool log off;
    exit;
    Node1 uses ASM disk group DATA1 and I intend to use ASM disk group DATA2 on node2. Has anyone seen this error before? I have tried various permutations of DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT clauses but all error with ORA-19504. On a side note I was able to use ASMCMD cp command to copy a datafile from node1 DATA1 to node 2 DATA2. Also, if I use disk group DATA1 on node 2 then the RMAN duplicate command runs successfully, it only errors when using DATA2. And yes +DATA2 is mounted on node2:
    SQL> select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME STATE
    DATA1 MOUNTED
    DATA2 MOUNTED
    Any and all ideas are welcome. I’m running out of things to check.
    Thanks,
    RJL

    For a duplicate you don't need to give the DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT especially if you go from a asm to asm diskgroup.
    The place where it'll put all the files will be automatically done taking care of the init.ora file parameter db_create_file_dest, (db_create_online_log_dest_1)

    Hi
    Duplicate databases with RMAN is not as simple as it seems, look at message colled "Duplicate database error with RMAN"
    This maybe could help you.
    Anyway, I saw the message:
    "internal error, arguments [14036] [-11] [29] [CHARACTER SET %s] [WE8ISO8859P1] "
    What NLS configuration have you?
    A10!

  • RMAN duplicate target using set until telling me it can not find data files

    I have RMAN scripts that I use freqently to clone a database from DB (production) to another (non-prod). These work just fine. I use the set until so that I can tell it at what point I want the new DB to be created from the backups of the source.
    I had a request to go back a few weeks and the backup files (I do compressed backups to disk) were on tape. I had my backup person restore my backup directory for the source DB as it looked on a certain day (May 28). I have an 8 day retention policy and so the backup files that were restored showed files all the way back to 5/20 ( includes the point I want to use in my set until clause).
    However, whenever I try to execute the rman clone, it tells me for each datafile:
    RMAN-06023: no backup or copy of datafile 1 found to restore
    Like I said, I am able to do this for a current backup that is on disk. I moved the backup files to the source db server and it works fine. However, from these files restored from tape it errors.
    Here is the RMAN script:
    spool log to c:\temp\clone_CSPROD_CSPRSUM1.log;
    #connect to catalog <catalog info>
    # target is the source and auxiliary is destination
    #connect target <put in source info here>
    #connect auxiliary /

    Maybe making progress.
    I got into RMAN and did a List backup command. In looking at the output, I see that it does have the 5/20 backup showing. Here is part of the output:

    What I am not sure is if the SCN I used in my set until sequence command was from 5/20, when I look at the backup pieces that it is reading to restore from, they appear to be from backup files taken from June.
    (e.g channel d1: reading from backup piece F:\BACKUPS\CSPROD\D3\CSPROD_DATA_6148 -- this is a 6/16 backup file).
    Also, as you can see it was not able to do a media recovery.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • RMAN-06010: error while looking up datafile: 82

    Iam building dataguard - Physical Standby database by using the RMAN duplicate command and we are not using the recovery catalog but control file.
    Iam getting the following error while running the duplicate command.
    set newname for datafile 82 to
    "/dflx02/flx/o01flx3rbs/rbs02_02.O01FLX3";
    RMAN-06010: error while looking up datafile: 82
    Actually we dropped the datafile(tablespace) before taken the backup but it is giving error though we are using the latest control file.
    I do not see this file is available in the database as we dropped it successfully.
    Could some one let me know what could be the problem and how to resolve it.
    Your early response is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your reply. Actually Iam not renaming the datafile but building the
    dataguard instance and some how control file is looking for old datafile that was deleted.
    Actually both primary and dataguard instances are running on 10.2.0.3 . Oracle control file is listing the datafile 82 as old deleted file, while building the dataguard.
    ---- This file was deleted long time back but still oracle control file is looking for this file while building the dataguard. Iam using the latest control file.
    set newname for datafile 82 to

    No archivelogs were purged or backed up and the current logs were retained....so im somewhat confused....i am not restoring from backup but running active duplicate...
    should I re-run the command with:
    SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 64713 THREAD 1

    This fails saying that "ORA-12528: TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections" which is quite normal given that the listener is havig a handle in BLOCKED state for this AUXDB as it is in NOMOUNT state.
    Could you please help me on how to proceed?
    One option can be to create the controlfile manually and mount the instance before doing the duplicate. I hope Rman can continue from there.
    Another option is to go for backup based duplicate.
    Is there any other way to go?
    Provide static registration on AUXILIARY side for your auxiliary instance and try again.For example change listener.ora file as
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = AUXDB)
          (ORACLE_HOME = <your oracle home>)
          (SID_NAME = AUXDB)
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <auxiliary host/ip>)(PORT = 1521))
      )And restart listener on auxiliary host then try again

  • RMAN Clone Errors

    Hello,
    We use Commvault for our backup software. I can successfully clone one application's PROD instance on server1 to TEST on server2.
    However, for another application, attempting the same process of cloning the app's PROD instance on server1 to TEST on server2, I'm getting RMAN errors.
    The prod database is ISLP and test database is ISLT. I've set the parameters:
    o     alter system set db_file_name_convert = '/u02/oradata/ISLP', '/u02/oradata/ISLT'
    o     alter system set log_file_name_convert= '/u01/oradata/ISLP', '/data/oracle/ISLT'
    Again the destination is on a second server.
    The error message I receive is:

    I don't understand why RMAN keeps trying to create new redo log files in a directory that is not specified by the log_file_name_convert parameter. I also don't understand why this exact same process works for cloning one applications database but not this application. I would appreciate any help. Thank you. Here is the RMAN script being executed by Commvault.
    Rman Script:
    [run {
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/infosilem_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/infosilem_ISLP_01.dbf';
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/sysaux_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/sysaux_ISLP_01.dbf';
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/system_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/system_ISLP_01.dbf';
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/tools_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/tools_ISLP_01.dbf';
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/undo_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/undo_ISLP_01.dbf';
    set newname for datafile '/u02/oradata/ISLP/users_ISLP_01.dbf' to '/u02/oradata/ISLT/users_ISLP_01.dbf';
    allocate auxiliary channel ch1 type 'sbt_tape'

    duplicate target database to 'ISLT'
    exit;
    ]

    You haven't defined a log_file_name_convert for /u02/oradata/ISLP/
    Possibly, the database has multiplexed redo log files, one member each in /u01/oradata/ISLP and one member each in /u02/oradata/ISLP.

  • The RMAN Duplicate Command Fails During The Recover.

    This exact script works fine in our lab. We are using Oracle 10.2.0.4.0.
    The hot backup for standby is also a script which runs without error in both the lab and
    the production machine.
    I am obviously missing something.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Jeff;
    I think the issue is in your backup. If you compare your command with mine, you may or may not see the issue, but this is how I got this to work.
    Yours
    RMAN run
    allocate channel c1 device type disk format '/u03/oradata/apoint/DB_BACKUPS/1NETCMN1_3261_BK4STDBY_%U';
    backup current controlfile for standby format '/u03/oradata/apoint/DB_BACKUPS/1NETCMN1_3261_CNTRL4STDBY_%U';
    backup as compressed backupset check logical tag='1NETCMN1_3261_BK4STDBY' database include current controlfile for standby;
    backup archivelog from sequence 463 format '/u03/oradata/apoint/DB_BACKUPS/1NETCMN1_3261_LOGS4STDBY_%U';
    release channel c1;
    Mine
    RMAN RUN {
    allocate channel d1 type disk;
    backup format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/df_t%t_s%s_p%p' database;
    sql 'alter system archive log current';
    backup format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/al_t%t_s%s_p%p' archivelog all;
    backup current controlfile for standby format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/sb_t%t_s%s_p%p';
    release channel d1;
    }Your duplicate is very close to what I use :
    Yours
    RMAN> run
    allocate auxiliary channel c1 device type disk;
    duplicate target database for standby dorecover nofilenamecheck;
    release channel c1;
    Mine
    RMAN> run {
    allocate channel C1 device type disk;
    allocate auxiliary channel C2 device type disk;
    duplicate target database for standby nofilenamecheck;

    allocate auxiliary channel aux1 type 'SBT_TAPE' PARMS="BLKSIZE=262144";
    DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO DUP ;
    }

    I think there is no workaround and this is expected behavior - atleast till 10.2. If you refer oracle documentation, it says that it requires target database in either MOUNT or OPEN stage to duplicate database using RMAN. So RMAN will get current physical structure information about target database from its control file and when any file is not there in the backup, it will give error. Only way to resolve this is to take backup of these datafiles through RMAN either as backupset or copy. ( I think oracle can take hint from here and make RMAN database duplication possible for which backup is not available - its a small change in code - if backup not found, then start taking backup. Already in 11g, during RMAN duplication, RMAN can use backup from other server)

    hi,
    I assume you are using a recovery catalog?
    Have you created proper password files on both servers?
    what connection string are you using to connect to the recovery catalog
    something similar to
    connect to the recovery catalog as follows: -
    rman catalog_name rman/password@rman_name target system/password auxiliary internal/chef@$SID
