RMAN Problem -- Crosscheck backup & list backup showing different results

Pls Help !!!
I'm using RMAN for backup policy is to recovery window of 7 days
but even on thired day after incremental 0 backup ... if run 'crosscheck backup'
it shows the previous as expired but when i issue 'list backup' it says available
what may be the problem.......
Backup volume is on RAID10 (ZFS on SOLARIS 10)

it shows the previous as expired but when i issueHave u deleted the previous backup...........because according to my knowledge crosscheck command is used to validate any inconsistency between the logical and physical backup files.
'list backup' it says available
what may be the problem.......
List backup will show the previous backup because of the recovery window
Try this
crosscheck database
delete expired
list backup
and then see the result

If I run the following query on a 9.2.0.6 database, no index is listed:
select type, count(*) from v$access group by type;CURSOR
FUNCTION
NON-EXISTENT
PACKAGE
SEQUENCE
SYNONYM
TABLE
TRIGGER
VIEW
It seems that index is not taken into account by v$access ?

Variance Scaling in Query and Web Template Showing Different Results

Hi experts,
I have the following problem - variance scaling in my query and web template are showing different results.
My variance in column is set as follows:
Formula: NODIM(A % B)
Scaling Factor: 1
I have a structure in row that uses Scaling Factor of 1,000.
Let say the value of Column A is 120 and Column B is 100.
When I execute the query, it will show 0.02
However, when I execute the web template it will show the correct scaling i.e. 20.
May I know what can I do to correct above scaling error?

You can not remove the scalling factor, but once you check the checkbox below the dropdown menu, the scalling factor will go away.
I checked at my end and when I set the scalling fact as 1, I was getting 9.9% while I was expecting 9900%. When I removed the scalling factor I started getting 9900%.
I would let you know if I came across anything else.
What about the unit of Column A and B. Are they same or different?

ODS and Infocube showing different results

Hi,
I loaded same data to Infocube and ODS but they are both showing different result in BEX.
ODS
ODS report is showing summarised values e.g
vendor               order value                   invoice value        date
00001                    20                               20                 01.01.2007
Infocube
result is showing not summarised values
vendor               order value                   invoice value        date
00001                    20                                 0                      0
                              0                                20                  01.01.2007
I would like to make the infocube result same as the ODS because I am remodelling so that we start reporting from Infocube rather than ODS.

this is the scenario
currently we are reporting from ODS object which fetch data from 3 ODSes. now I am asked to remodel so that we can report from infocube not ODS.
steps I have taken so far.
- created new infocube
- created 3 update rules ( same Update rules that gives the reporting ODS data).
my target is to make sure that the current ODS report is the same as the infocube report but so far the report is not consistent
I compared the data in the ODS and infocube and they are exactly the same but the report is showing differently

stock web-part which is integrated into our SharePoint site . And this stock web-part is showing different result in different regions .As the output of the web-part is perfect in India,US,UK and working quite opposite in Singapore,china and Malaysia.Can

Xl reporter shows different result before and after Period-End Closing.

Hi SAP experts,
We have an issue with XL Reporter. When we ran Period-End closing and ran XL - PL Period & YTD (with the same parameters), XLR shows nil in the Actual YTD column and the monthly figures are out by a big difference (example pre-rollover it was $110K after rollover it shows negative $12M).
This happens on 2 different clients running 2 different SAP B1 (2007A PL 42 and 8.8 PL 13) on the same XL Reporter which is possibly the default XL report that comes with the installation.
I don't have any idea why the XLR is running 2 different figures altogether when running the same XLR using the same parameter before and after rolling the year over. The default SAP B1 P&L report stays the same before and after the rollover, I would have expect that the same would happen with the XLR.
Please advise.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by excluding a certain transaction for closing entries as this would defeat the whole purpose of PEC which as you stated was to transfer P&L balances to retained earnings account to be carried forward.
I've check at some guides including one from Orchestra Team (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4tUo774eXg) and so far the process that I've done is exactly what it is.

Exporting from Lightroom to Photoshop and back to Lightroom shows different results in Lightroom than in Photoshop

I has set the color space to ProPhoto RGB in both Lightroom and Photoshop. I have also calibrated my monitor.
But when I export a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop and edit it there before saving it, the photo in Lightroom is very different than what the Photoshop edit shows.
Photoshop is to the left, Lightroom to the right.

Ask in the LR/ PS forums and provide details about your system, your files, your develop settings, other stuff. You need to be much more specific.

Report Query shows different result when executed manually

Hi!
When I run our report I'll get 7577 distinct rows.
From here on I copied the SQL query with SQL inspector, then pasted it in Oracle SQL Developer and replaced the user variable with the same value I entered when I ran the report from within Oracle Discoverer Desktop.
But when I run this query I'll get 10925 distinct rows.
How is that even possible??? I think the SQL inspector is supposed to print the exact same query which he used to display the data in the report? Am I missing something here?

I found my error.
I queried v$sql to get the real quey sent to the database and then saw how it actually got processed. I'ts ok now.

Mapping execution show different results....

Have mapping: join -> transformation -> exprsssion -> traget
The expression is calling a function that logs an error into a table every time the input data is null.
When I executed this mapping via deployment manager first time it did log errors correctly.
After I redeployed this mapping again (minor not related change) and run it again, it stopped logging errors
I reconciled all the objects and redeployed it and it logged the errors again.
Now after insignefficant change I had to redeploy it again and no matter what I do it does not going to this functions...
I'm pritty much positive it's a tool not data not logic at this time unless...
Any suggestion?

RMAN Recovery Window 7 days setting - shows no obsolete backups

Hi All. Quick question about RMAN retention policy....
I have the current backup strategy:
Full backup (0) -> Sunday
Incremental backup (1) -> Monday - Saturday
Archive log backups -> every hour
This is a new database I just started taking backups on last month. (1st full backup was run October 4th)
I currently have not deleted any of them.
The old RMAN RETENTION POLICY was set to REDUNDANCY = 1
REPORT OBSOLETE lists all of them up to the last full which ran this past Sunday (Nov 1st)
I just switched the RMAN RETENTION POLICY to RECOVERY WINDOW of 7 DAYS
REPORT OBSOLETE lists no backups obsolete...
Shouldn't I see all the backups prior to a week ago or does it only take affect for backups run under the new policy?
Any help/replies are apprecitaed.

Ran crosscheck with no problems:
Crosschecked 200 objects
But still same results for:
RMAN> report obsolete;
RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 7 days
no obsolete backups found
Am I missing something here? Or like I mentioned is this expected behaviour because all of my other backups were run with REDUNDANCY = 1 retention policy?

"list backup of tablespace" - Not coming out back to RMAN prompt

Hi All,
We have a script to perform the restore and recover test process.
In that we have given the command "list backup of tablespace <tablespace name > summary" to check if the tablespace is backedup successfully.
Its returning the list of backup pieces, but it hangs in that stage without coming back to RMAN prompt.
I have manually loged in to rman session and typed "list backup of tablespace <tablespace name > summary", after listing the backup it hangs and not coming back to RMAN prompt.
Please advice on this.

Backups list in Server app

I use Server app to set up TM backups, but there's no backups list in 'Backups' tab. TM is working correctly, and i can see all backups in finder, but not in TM configuration in Server.
How can i gain backups list ?

I just recently did this (last night) and it is working fine for me. Perhaps if I go through the steps I did and you can compare to how you did it.
Have external HDD connected to Mac mini server. External HDD is called 'Data'
As local server administrator made folder on Data (external HDD) called 'TimeMachine' as I did not want external client Mac machines TM backups to go into root of drive
Went to Time Machine made a destination and choose folder created in step 2 and turned on Time Machine service on server. When this action was done server automatically setup share point with relevant permissions.
At client machine System Preferences | Time Machine
Choose 'Select Disk...'
'TimeMachine' automatically showed up in 'Available Disks'
Select it and choose 'Use Disk'
For account I chose account of the user of that client machine, not the server administrator account. User chosen has account on the server and is in the group 'Staff' which has R/W access to the designated Time Machine backup sharepoint & folder.
Time Machine backup automatically started
After client backup(s) finished I see them in the server Time Machine Backups list. Shows computer name, owner is user account which uses that Mac.
Seems to work fine.

Different results on a SQL sort depending on the tool?

Hi,
i've a problem with sorting a column, getting different results depending on the tool.
Environment:
Oracle 8.1.6 on Solaris, Oracle Client on NT 4.0 (SP5)
The Query:
SELECT * FROM mytable ORDER BY mycolumn ASC
This is the result of a query by SQL Plus Worksheet:
0000000006
0000100100
A00000
A06015
A06016
This is the result of a query by SQL*Plus (and Oracle ODBC 32Bit Test and a jdbc query) :
A00000
A06015
A06016
0000000006
0000100100
Why has the same SQL statement different results?
Why are there different collating orders?
How can this be solved?
Can anyone help me?

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
10.5.x/10.6.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
