Rmbp bootcamp issues on win7!

BSOD appears while installing bootcamp on win7, none of the drivers are installed propertly,
I cant even touch to click nor use the function keys

This is neither the Boot Camp nor the MacBook series forum.
And apple has a lot of support and guides that you should read and scan the Boot Camp community threads.

  • G70-250US Notebook - sleep issues in Win7?

I just bought the G70-250US... my first notebook ever after 15 years of computing.  The very first thing I did (after creating recovery discs of course) was format the drive and put Win7 RC1 (x64) on it.  It runs great now and I have no HP bloatware.  I got all the latest drivers from HP and Intel.
99% of the time the sleep and wakeup work fine.  However, I have noticed if I close the lid and let it sleep for a long time (8+ hours, while I myself and ALSO sleeping), that when I open the lid to wake it in the morning, it will appear to wake up, but the display will remain blank, and I will need to force it asleep a 2nd time (through power button or lid) and then wake it a second time, and then it will function fine, display and all.
Is this a known issue, or is it perhaps just a compatibility issue with Win7?  Does it happen in Vista?  I can't really check since I wiped Vista off so fast. :-)
    Thanks!

One more thing I noticed... when waking up after a long sleep, it briefly displays the HP logo and then the Windows resume screen... and THEN the screen goes black and will not come back unless I sleep it a second time.  So it almost seems to be a display driver issue, maybe?
EDIT: Incidentally, Windows update just found a display driver update released yesterday.  We'll see if that fixes it...

    Hi
Can you try prefixing the string "file://" before the file path and try. Something like,
    CALL METHOD OF go_workbooks 'Open' EXPORTING #1 = 'file://D:/1.xls'.

  • Is DAMO has issues with win7 64 bit

    Hello,
we are impelmenting DAMO for our users, it works fine with Win XP/7  32 bit, but got some issue with win7 64 bit, its not creating MAPI profile, at the end of installation it shows
error, "Failed to create a new MAPI profile. ", After that  it displays "Setup encountered an error
and failed to create a new MAPI profile. You will need to reinstall IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook."
please pass solution if you have any...
    Thanks!
    vipul

Do you have a virus scanner, can you exclude .nsf files from scanning.
When installing the damo client software do not put in the normal Program files area as I believe windows 7 will not allow permissions to be changed without asking every time, so tis could be causing issues with temp files etc at setup.
When setting up user profile it will ask where to save the user files, change from default profile area to some other created area of the disk you know you have access to, suggest making a path c:\damo\username\
Also install lotus notes normal client and make sure your ID is ok using basic client.
    Thanks.

  • Bootcamp issue with new iMac

Hi - I just purchased a new 21.5 inch iMac with Intel Core i7.  I used Bootcamp to partition a new drive, and I installed 32bit Windows 2007 Home Premium.  Everything worked without a problem, until I tried to install Bootcamp in the Windows environment.  It says that "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running".  I searched the forums for similar issues - I tried to re-download the Bootcamp update in OSX; I tried to use the command prompt to go right to the msi file, and nothing worked.  Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the internet through Windows until I instal all the drivers, so I am stuck.
Does anyone know if the Bootcamp drivers are supported on the new iMac i7?

Hi, ta know, they don't mention it here, but I'm wondering if 10.8 might not require 64 bit Win7?

  • MacBook Pro Core i7 + Windows 7 Bootcamp issues

I recently bought a brand new MacBook Pro Core i7 2.66Ghz with 8GB Ram and 500GB 7200rpm HD and Hi-Res display.
When I received it, I updated all Mac OS X software via software update.
I then created a 70GB Bootcamp partition to install a new full copy of Window 7 Ultimate.
I started with the 64bit version of Win 7, but as has been noted here there are some issues with the driver packages and even after managing to get the 64bit version of the Bootcamp 3.1 driver package update to install in Windows (having first installed Bootcamp 3.0 drivers), the wireless driver would not install or work, nor would the NVidia driver, so I had a very odd display aspect and low res support. There may well have been other drivers not working either, but these two really stood out.
Despite the Bootcamp 3.1 driver package apparently being installed (as reported by "About Bootcamp", the 3.1 package was still being offered to me in Apple Software Update. I tried to install again, and again it still showed as being available to install. Obviously some issue's here.
So I decided to try the Windows 7 32bit edition instead, as I don't necessarily need the 64bit version to run the Windows apps I need.
I deleted the Bootcamp partition and started again. I ended up in the exact same situation with Windows 7 32bit as I had done with Windows 7 64bit - wireless device without a driver, NVidia drivers not installed. This time I had used the Bootcamp 32bit driver packages.
In the end I've opted to just install it via VMware as a pure virtual machine. This works fine, but for what I do in Windows, I prefer to have a Bootcamp setup.
Is there a general issue with the new MacBook Pro's and Windows 7 despite Apple releasing updated driver packages? Do these new driver packages handle the dual GPU setup properly?
I have read a number of "How to's..." for installing Windows 7 on the a MacBook Pro, but none have been successful for me. Am I wasting my time for now and need to wait for Apple to update Bootcamp for the 2010 MacBook Pro's, or am I just missing something in the way I'm doing this? I can't believe it shouldn't be this hard?

Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my brand new 15" MBP right now.
The only problem I'm having is the USB controller issue that is reported in the following thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2411685&start=30&tstart=0
I ran the Boot Camp assistant, made the partition, rebooted with my 7 DVD, formatted the partition, performed a clean installation, & then installed the drivers from the OSX DVD when Windows booted the first time.
Replaced the NVIDIA drivers with the latest Verde release. 258.96notebook_winvista_win7_64bit_internationalwhql.exe
Everything seems to be running just fine at this point.

  • Memory Leak Issue With Win7 64 bit and Youtube.

    I have a Win7 64 bit using IE9 with version 11.4.402.265 installed. 4 MB installed.
Whenever I go to Youtube or Liveleak, and watch videos, over time it uses up to 4gigs of my memory! Even if I close the window, it does not free up the memory until I Ctrl/Alt/Delete and shut down the window(s).
I normally only keep open 1-2 windows. Google toolbar is about the only thing installed. I can open 5 and more tabs, but as long as the site does not use flash, I don't have issues and each window usually uses under 200k memory watching them in task manager.
When I go to open and watch a youtube video, it slowly climbs to 200k and within an hour, I can be at 2 gigs or more memory and up to 4 gigs within 2 hours (or sometimes much sooner). Closing the window does not release the memory until I end task on it and then after a minute or so, the memory seems to clear and everything is back to normal.
I searched the forums and seems lots of users, report memory leaks, some using yahoo toolbar installed, which is not my case. I do use yahoo as my e-mail address, no idea if that is related or not. I had the same issue when I had the prior Flash version installed, this has been going on for months. Right now having only this window open, using 129, 192 memory. If I open one more window (using the 64 or 32 bit browser) and start youtube, the memory in that window keeps climbing about 50-100kb a second, so it adds up quickly. I have kaspersky running in the background and that is about it other then my nvida driver setup.
Really frustrating that so many people here and across the internet have reported this. I did have IE8 a few weeks ago and still had the same issue, upgraded to IE9 to see if that helped.
Interesting side note, if I pause a video, it slows way down on the memory leak, but still rises at a slower pace. I don't know if this is an IE thing or Flash. I have had this setup since 2009 and don't recall having issues with IE7. I use Youtube so much as a teaching instrument as a music teacher, so constantly have lessons going on it.
Thanks and hope someone has come up with something. I also build computers and have done some programming, so I could modify a file if needed with clear instructions.

This could be similar to bug https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3334814

  • Installation of Windows 8.1 in the Maverick Bootcamp Issues

When installin the Windows 8.1 on the Bootcamp partition of the OS X Mavericks. I have removed the original optic drive and placed it in a seperate case connected USB. The Bootcamp 5.1 (and 5) have both been used to attempt the installation. The Bootcamp partition is created. Once the two check boxes have been selected (I have assumed that the first check box must only be done once in order to save this to the USB flash drive). Upon the Bootcamp Assistant recognizing this installation a pop up will tell you to give the disc a few seconds to recognize the you click the OKAY box. The desktop will fade out and the Apple loader (circle will be in view). The desktop will then reboot to what appears to be the installing of the windows disc. Upon the self reboot the screen will go to a quick gray (5-10 seconds) then default to a Blackout screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner (this is the same quick screen that occurs whenever WIndows 7 or 8 is in it's boot initial start). Now from hear the installation never continues. At this point I have tried the methods and have spent 8 hours with both the LeveL 2 technicians at APPLE and MICROSOFT. To no avail!!!! There would appear to be a conflict between the Windows EFI files at booting the windows and the Bootcamp assistant installation commands for the partition booting for install. Nobody as of yet has come up with the solution or answer/fix. If anyone has seen this or has found a work around for this issue. Please feel free to post. I feel this is either a very simple issue that we are all overlooking or this has not been addressed as of yet. As I understand both parties are saying that they have been getting many calls regarding this issue but have not understood why it is occurring. I will be will to post different scenarios that have been attemted. Again if anyone has seen this and/or found a way to make this work please post you methods and/or thoughts. Oh by the way, all of the installations directions dealing with the Windows step by step instruction from both Windows and Apple have not worked. If the hard reboot is done and holding the option key (therefore giving you your drive selection options) you can see the Windows disc in the external drive but it will not boot to that drive. This leads us to believe that the USB is the conflict with the Windows EFI files. We have attempet this also from the Flash drive installation using the .iso but upon the hard reboot/option start the flash drive .iso file is not available for disc selection. This has led me to think that a .iso copy could be placed on the new bootcamp partion (in the Disk utility application) but I am uncertain if this could be booted form the hard reboot/option startup. Just some thoughts. So again, our final stage is staring at a Black screen with a cursor flashing, oh and there is no keyboard entry recognized at this point. In order to exit you must hard reboot/option restart to get back to the Mac HD. Looking forward to your ideas folks!

Okay, new update! As of today, I have been able to finally create a .ISO bootable flash drive that contains the new Windows 8.1 Pro. Once the bootcamp partition has been made I can now interrupt the reboot process and using the Option Key select the new EFI bootable Windows disk (on USB) it's orange. The Windows begins to load and takes me through a few steps of selecting language and enter the product key. Then we move on to the selection of the partition that is to be used for the installation of Windows. Here is where I have tried several different types of things but have not been able to get through to the installing. Depending on what selection was made during the Bootcamp partitioning installation from my Utilities in Mavericks will depend on the faults that I get. If I choose to erase and make a new installation on the new bootcamp partition then during the Windows installation (at the partitioning step) I will get the error that Windows cannot be installed on the MBR disk (Master Boot) and must be done on the GPT disk. If I try any of the disk options at this point it will either delete the partition (and cannot ADD a new partion) therefore I am forced to return back out to the Mac HD OS and restart the Bootcamp process OR If in the Bootcamp set up I choose the first option to make a partition for the Windows installation then once I get into the partitioning set up for the Windows install it says the same thing. Now I have also attempted all of the other options even the load drivers option (assuming that maybe this will allow me to load disk drivers to read the Bootcamp HD) Nope, still no continuing on to installation. I have read many days on several other methods used in the Forum. By the way, thanks for all the posts it has allowed me to be able try just about everything to include the cloning of the Info.plist files and teminal authorizations for USB and so on. I'm not a supertech but have been able to find my way around with some difficulties. The real issue here is that Apple and Microsoft have yet to make this process  very easy even for someone who has some experience with this. I have loaded Windows 7 on several other Macbook Pros operating earlier versions of the OS X but this has become absolutely too time consumming to ever wish to continue to operate MAC products in my preferred Windows. I have used other 3rd party boot patitioning programs such as Parallels and VMware. My experience with these types of programs make the install process much easier but in time as different OS software updates are applied these programs tend to have different problems forcing the user to make odd corrections at the most in opportune times. If there is anyone that has any information to further my progress I am all ears to see what may be the fix!

  • Bootcamp issue. I recently ran bootcamp on my late 09 macbook pro, and my Nvidia 9400m driver keeps crashing? Any ideas?

So I have a late 09 macbok pro, with 2.25ghz or so core 2 duo processor, 8 gb of ram, and the nvidia geforce 9400m graphics card. I just recently used bootcamp to install windows, so I can run AutoDesk Revit, however every time I go to open Revit, I am informed that my graphics driver kernal failed and has made a full recovery. What am I doing wrong?? I really need this to work for school. Thank you all.

Have you made sure you have all the bootcamp drivers installed and updated? If not, get them here. Download them from the mac side, put them on a flash drive, then restart onto the windows side. When you're in windows, run the setup off the flash drive, and when it's done, restart your computer, then log back into your windows partition, and see if the issue still exists. You might've just used bootcamp to install windows, but you might not've gotten the updated drivers.

  • Upgrade Win XP Bootcamp partition to Win7?

I read the docs that says you cannot upgrade XP directly to Win 7 as it requires a 'clean install' from an external CD.
I have someone on ebay who purports to be selling me an upgrade CD that will do this
"The Win7 upgrade I'm selling will allow you to "upgrade" Windows XP by doing a clean install only. In-place upgrades are disabled unless upgrading from Vista Business. When running the upgrade DVD setup (either directly from Windows XP or by booting from the burned upgrade DVD), the setup will search for a previous installation of Windows. It will find XP and then allow you to perform a "clean" install so you will want to backup all of your personal files from Windows XP "
Does this sound right? My XP partition runs under Bootcamp and Parallels 6 seamlessly (just a bit slow and stilted though), and I wanted to try and get a modern 64bit OS so that it can use more than the 3G RAM that XP 32 allows.
    1) Is it worth it? Will my windows environment see any signifacant performane increases? I have an 8G Ram 2007 i7 iMac and even under BootCamp, XP only sees 3G Ram.
    2) IS it possible to do it as described above? IE boot from the external Win7 ISO CD, then 'upgrade' by detecting XP, re-formatting the partition and installing Win 7 (followed by using Snow Leopard CD to re-install BootCamp drivers.
    3) Will this totally bugger up my Parallels installation? (Ie, can I just re-install parallels or when it runs, will it automatically upgrade. It will point to the same partition as the virtual machine - but that partition will have new software running on it.
    - I am unsure if this is worth purchasing, or am I looking at screwing a pokey but functional install of Windows XP?

This is a clean install, no different from any other install of 7 over XP, you will need to backup all data and reinstall all applications.

  • HPE-390t Bluetooth issues on Win7 Ultimate

I have an HPE-390t that is running Win7 Ultimate (which came with it when I purchased it from HP).  Lately, Bluetooth has been very iffy on the machine and I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue and how to resolve it either way.  Sometimes when I start up the Bluetooth icon appears in my system tray, and other times it doesn't and I have a Unknown Device listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers in Device Manager (although it's possible that's listed there even when the Bluetooth icon appears and Bluetooth is working - it's not working right now, so I have no way of knowing if that Unknown Device is there when it is working until it starts working again).  Any help on how to troubleshoot and/or fix this is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
    Marc

Is your desktop PC still in warranty? Check your warranty status Here.
You can troubleshoot it by using the Device Manager to identify the unknown device when it appears. If the unknown device is the bluetooth transceiver then you will have found the cause to be a failing transceiver.

  • MacBookPro external video with bootcamp issue

I need some help figuring out how to use an external DVI monitor while running bootcamp xp pro. I have connected a monitor and an external keyboard and tried rebooting with it connected and also just closing the laptop, but cannot get any video to appear on the external screen. Is it possible running bootcamp? Would appreciate any help getting it going, thanks.

    Hi ...
What external monitor are you connecting to? I presume you are using a miniDP to DVI dongle from the Apple Store.
In XP (SP3), right click your desktop and go to the Display Settings. You should see two display boxes labelled ( 1 ) and ( 2 ). The second should be your external. Click it.
Under the display area are some check-boxes, including one to "Extend" your display. Check this box.
You may need to move the slider to set the resolution as well.
When done, click the Apply button. Remember to accept the changes within the timeout window for them to be applied.
Your display should be recognized and light up. If not, ensure the display power is turned on.
XP is not as intuitive as Vista or Win7, so it doesn't always detect monitor changes on the fly. You may need to reboot to have the XP system configure itself for dual displays.
If that still doesn't work, check your Display Settings after the reboot to ensure the second display has Extended checked and the resolution you set.

  • Mbpr 15" bootcamp issues

So basically I keep having issues with bootcamp, yet osx seems to function fine. I have reinstalled windows too many times to count yet keep getting performance issues as well as wifi issues. I had a defective motherboard, had it replaced, yet am still getting issues. I have read that if you have a defective motherboard it can mess up formatting on your harddrive, which may cause issues like this. Is reformatting the solution and how is this even done on an apple notebook?
I have taken in my computer more several times and they have replaced a few things (resolving other issues) but not fixing this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been told this is a windows compatibility issue but I find that hard to believe given the very limited variety of hardware in apple notebooks. Who do I even ask for support in this case, since it seems to involve both apple (bootcamp) and ms products?

Win 7/64 doesn't work fine on my late 2011 MB Pro. It crashes frerquently. I don't know if this is because of Apple's drivers or whatelse. Surely Thunderbolt is not well supported: if you have a RAID Thunderbolt external HD it woun't be "seen" by Win 7... and I have some partitions in RAID format I woul like to read/write. But this, is another question...
    Cheers

  • Another bootcamp issue

Hey everyone. I'm having an issue running windows 7 on bootcamp. I install it, everything works install a few things restart it then suddenly when I go on it the computer gets stuck at the 'starting windows' screen. The first time I installed the drivers from snow leopard and while it was logging off it froze so I had to press the manual off button. When it turned back on it was freexing on 'starting windows'. The next time I after reinstalled bootcamp etc the drivers installed perfectly, installed a few games. When I was installing Age of Empires 3 while it was installing it kind of froze. This happened on my windows pc doe to compatibility and pressing ctrlaltdel usually fixed it. But it froze on this and everything else started freezing. I then had to manually press the off button which I did, and then I got the problem again. I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to my problem? By the way Windows boots up in safe mode but not normal.
Help would be appreciated. By the way this is boot camp installation for the second latest macbook pro.

Hey again! I'm actually having another problem now. I'm trying to play Star Wars Battlefront II but it pops up with a tnl error. After a bit of research tnl stood for texture and lighting and I needed 3d graphics which requires nvidia drivers which I just deleted because they caused errors on my system (post 1).
Is there a safr Nvidia card or another way to fix this? Thanks guys.

  • Any Bootcamp issues with the new MBP? What about right clicking?

Tried out the new MBP at the Apple store... was wondering how Bootcamp would work with it. I use Bootcamp all the time for work so I'm interested to here the pro's and con's for the new models. Seems like the new trackpad clicking would be cause issues with the "two-finger click" in Bootcamp.

    Right clicking issues galore!
(at least in the windows side of things...)
    The 64bit windows worked fine....
The 32bit windows had many issues, even after 2 attempts. (via boot camp)
The main issue: the functions keys are locked on. Normally, I would hold down "fn" and push "f10" to mute but that doesn't work. All I have to do is hit "f10" and its muted. That is all good until I have to right-click using the "shift+f10" method since the bottom-right-of-trackpad and two-finger-clicking doesn't work whatsover. The "shift+f10" method won't work now since the fn keys are locked on. We have NO IDEA what the problem is. Could it be a driver issue...though it works fine with x64bit and OS X side of things.
Oh, and mac doesn't give support if one installs Vista and Microsoft won't give support since it isn't on a 'native' pc, so we are screwed. They have both protected themselves and blamed it on the other and the customer is left out to dry.
