RME 4.1 Software distribution gives generic error

Using LMS 3.0.1 with RME 4.1.1 I get an error when trying to distribute images.
It's same whether I used "By device" or "by image".The recommendation are run for 90 seconds and then the result are always "failure".I've tried different devices&images. All recommendation filters are deactivated.

After the recommendation phase is finished, there's a status of "failure" in the status field. If I click on the the failure status to get more information, "generic error" is the only thing in the details.I had debug activated and the swim_debug shows that the recommendation times out

  • Silverlight - Give generic Error, closes when you click on application storage - Windows 8

Silverlight errors on websites and won't load bubble test. Also if you go into silverlight settings and click on application storage it doesn't open the box below just closes.
I've tried deleting the file that saves silverlight cache, fix-it tool, registry cleaner and reinstall. Silverlight still won't load on windows 8 machine.

    Tricky one really.
I work in businesses where the desktop set ups are well known.
I'll try and offer some suggestions since you have zero replies.
Kind of unsurprising though - there should be some sort of consumer orientated support somewhere rather than the only option being developer forums.
If you try that bubble site I posted and it doesn't work then Silverlight is broken or you're using it in a browser it's just not going to work in.  ( That's just a random Silverlight site I found by the way ).
Exactly what error do you see?
The default browser settings for IE 11 stop my Silverlight business apps working, but there's a relatively friendly warning.
You're using the desktop version of internet explorer?    If it doesn't have a house star and cog top right and looks all metro then it's not desktop.
Other browsers are unreliable to fatal.
    Sounds like you did this:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2608523/en-gb?wa=wsignin1.0
You definitely have windows 8 pro?
It is never going to work on win rt.  I never saw anyone trying to  install on win rt so I don't know what happens but neither the plug in or the Silverlight .net framework work on win rt.
    Other than that.
    Good luck.
    Hope that helps.

  • LMS 3.2: Software Distribution - Generic Error

    Hy.
I need to roll out an IOS on r.a. 250 devices. But when I try to distribute any software image via RME I always get the same error. I'm unable to start the job because in step one after selecting image and devices I get "failure" for all devices. When I click on "failure" a pop-up window opens telling me "generic error". Please have a look at the attached screenshot.
What does this mean and how can I fix this? This is really urgent!
All devices are completely managable (and managed) by the LMS.
    Thank in advance!
    Marc

Which IOS image are you trying to deploy and which device ?
Go to Common Services --> Software Center --> Software Update and provide screenshot.
Go to RME --> Admin --> Software Management ---> View/Edit Software Prefrences and check to see if "Include Cisco.com image "  for recommendation is selected.  If not, check them.
Try a different image that is higher that the current one and or use a GD image.

  • After upgrading to Lion Image Capture does not work, even though it is intel software.  Gives error 9931.  What gives?

After upgrading to Lion, Image Capture does not work, even though it is intel software.  Gives error 9931.  What gives?

Ouch, if it is indeed damaged, then sadly you need to restore the whole danged huge OS!
Didn't used to be this way before Lion/10.7.
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

Please help to get iTunes install.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Error found in Software Distribution log

I found below error in my software distribution log. I think it is related to WSUS and many comptuers are not getting proper patches. Any resolution is really appriciated
    2014-11-24 15:27:26.773 UTC    Warning    w3wp.325    SoapUtilities.CreateException    ThrowException: actor = http://xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.com:8530/ClientWebService/client.asmx, ID=e5cd4691-63d8-4740-b5a6-f732027896db,

What do you mean of "not getting proper patches"?
Did these clients fail to update with any error code?
Almost certainly the above log entry is occurring in combination with an 0x8024400D error code ... a very common manifestation of duplicated SusClientIDs.

The developer isn't recognized by the App Store, so your Mac is trying to protect you in case the program is malware. As long as you are sure it isn't, follow this procedure:
In the Finder, locate the app you want to open.Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
Press the Control key, then click the app icon.
Choose Open from the shortcut menu.
Click Open. The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you will be able to open it in the future by double-clicking it, just like any registered app.

  • Error 10038 - Software Distribution Paused

On one machine, I'm getting error 10038
"The program for advertisement "S0xxxxxx" has not been run yet ("S0yyyyyy" - "App - Install"). Software Distribution is currently paused on this computer, and it has to be resumed before this program can begin."
This is for all apps that should be run, mandatory and optional.
Matching error in execmgr.log file is "This program cannot run because a reboot is in progess or software distribution is paused."
Cause? Well, user inadvertantly ran a USMT capture TS the other day, which has a shutdown command at the end. Always works fine, normally. However, suspect but cannot confirm that user 'interfered' with the shutdown process, as they would have been seeing whole thing happen and probably not been happy about the shutdown as they were trying to work. (Let's not get into why users will blindly click on anything that pops up in their in-tray!)
Since then, no other adverts will run. Machine has been restarted several times.
So, how do I tell the client that it should unpause Software Distribution because there really is no restart or TS in progress anymore?
I have searched online, but there are almost no pages found relating to this error.
(NB: Client is Vista SP1, Site is SCCM SP1 with R2.)

Please have a look at those registry keys:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Software Distribution\State
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Task Sequence
There might be some values that were not set to 0 again (I have no ConfigMgr client right next to me but it was obvious what to set from 1 to 0 IIRC)
Just following up on my post, we upgraded to SP2, still an issue (random), not an issue with a specific TS (random again). After stumbling on another post somewhere and digging into the registry, changing the same above values mentioned by Torsten, resolved the issue.
All that I change is "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Software Distribution\State" change the values for "Paused" and "Paused Cookie" to a 0 , so it reads 0x00000000 (0) this resolves the issue, at first I was stopping ccmexec, changing the value, starting ccmexec, but that is not required, just change the value and your good to go.
Roger Zanders SCCM Client Centre has this built in to client actions, confirmed what his action does and it just changes the registry value.
Now as this is a random issue for random clients and random TS, any ideas how we can get a permanent solution, is this classed as bug?
Proposing Torsten's response as the answer.

  • RME Software distribution

    Hello,
    I have LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.1.
I am currently managing approx 30 Nexus 5010's and 5020's. I want to use the software distribution feature within RME, however when i go to the device selector within software mgmt > software distribution > by device - the majority of the devices are greyed out including all of the N5K's. The only devices that are not greyed out are an ACE module and a couple of 3750's. Even 3945 routers are greyed out.
Does anyone know what the problem is here ? - i have a successful archive and inventory of all devices and can make changes using netconfig etc ..
    Any advice gratefully received
    Phil

I don't have such devices myself, but I think you may want to check the "supported devices table" to see if software distribution is supported on these devices and or if you need to patch/upgrade RME
    http://tools.cisco.com/search/JSP/search-results.get?strQueryText=supported+device+table
There you see that an update for RME is required for nexus.
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • Trying to export to excel gives a generic error.

I have a reporting Services report on sharepoint 2013.  It works great to export 1 month or even 3 months of data.  When I try to export 6 months it errors out with the generic error Sorry Something Went Wrong.  I have tried to find out what
that is in the URL logs but nothing makes sense from that in the app server or web server.  This is a on Premise install.
I am wondering if this has to do with some limit of size allowed on excel?  If so how do I increase that.  Please step by step tasks I am not very good with sharepoint.
I am also wondering if it happens to be some time out thing and where is setting for that.  Again please detailed step by step.

    hi kamala
I check cas.log and datatransferservices.log and execmgr.log........as the package is sucessfully downloaded to DPs, which i matched with source folder and DP smspkgZ$ package size is same but , i am having doubt that
package is downloading in client which you can check in cas.log with package ID C000121C entry
but when im checking execmgr.log it show it is waiting for this particular package content
but i hecked the dataTransferservices.log it shows every folder of package is downloaded.
now is it possible that client computer is not abale to download complete package from dp to client computer
will program run from DP work in this scenario ,because in our environment we are only downloading from DP then running the program setting is used.
    thanks in advance.
