RME Error - HOME0004

Trying to open RME in LMS3.1 - I get HOME0004 error - unable to retrieve out-of-sync data. I have attached the RMEHome.log that details the error. I currently have the same privs that were present under LMS2.6. Note: sometimes this works, most of the time it doesn't.

Hi:
How can I get more info about this bug CSCsq83188?
Bug Toolkit shows nothing about it
I guess this bug affects only RME running on Solaris, for I cannot get it over Windows?
Is there any patch without installing LMS 3.2 (may be installing next RME version?).
Thanks a lot
Julio

  • LMS2.6 - CS & RME Errors

    Hello Folks,
When I tried to establish the SyslogAnalyzer Collection, I received error message SCS.png attached.
After I verified that SyslogAnalyzer was not running with message of either "Never started" or "Administrator has stopped this service", I tried restarting it and received error message RMEMon.png attached. This was also received when I noticed that processes RMEDbEngine and RMEDbMonitor are also in the same state (not started or won't start) and tried starting those processes.
At this stage I saw that there are "DCA Server is down or inaccessible" and JRM server is down or inaccessible" alerts on Common Service Home - see CS-Home.png. The process list also has the following processes as "Administrator has shut down this server": CTMJrmServer and jrm - these can be started OK. I'm also attaching dmgtd, pdshow and dcr debug logfiles.
Could anybody shed some light on this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Brendan

    Hi Joe,
Thanks for the information - the transaction log recovery appears to have sorted the issue.
The only small concern is that while checking everything was OK afterwards I received a FHDbMonitor message on-screen telling me that FHDbEngine process had been restarted on the server, yet the process is running since we completed the transaction log recovery. Screenshots attached. This happens multiple times while accessing CisoWorks.
    Many thanks,
    Brendan

    1. Bounce the Repository's DB Instance. Usually an indication
    of RME errors.
    2. Goto RAU and perform all of your maintenance
    a. Compute Statistics
    b. View Objects and Recompile all 'INVALID' objects
    c. Clear temporary tables.
    3. If you are reverse engineering with DBA privileges then you
are going to retrieve alot of uneccessary objects. Be explicit
    in your retrieval.

    Dear Jason,
Now, i dont get this error and the home page opens but i get the following message in red text for some portions of RME:
You are not authorized to view the detailsI also tried creating another user with full privileges and used his login but still i see the same results.I had installed LMS the first time in non-ACS mode and the second time i re-installed on top of the previous installation again because i got some Apache errors. I dont think that the reinstall prompted me for the ACS mode but from what i see, it is local and not ACS.Do you think that i should try to reinstall again Ciscoworks? Is reinstall better or uninstall and a subsequent fresh install?

The ICServer process could have locked up which means a full thread dump will be required to see why this is happening. Open a TAC service request, and they can walk you through getting this.

  • Error HOME0002 on RME 4.3.0 LMS 3.2

When I try to access to RME on CWLMS 3.2 I get this message:
HOME0002: Could not get database connection. Make sure that RME DB server is running. Check RMEHome.log for more details.
When I go to Server->Admin->Processes I see RMEdbEngine process not running.  At trying to start it, a message appears indicating to restart CiscoWorks daemon (crmdmgtd) , I did it a lot of times with no success.
Actually I did not know what could be the issue,  that's why I request for your help.
I attached pdshow and RMEHome.log files
    Thanks in advice.

It seems this has been going on for quite some time since you have DB message connection errors going back to September 2010 in the log.  Follow these steps:
    1. Stop Daemon Manager from command line:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    2. Go to NMSROOT\CSCOpx\objects\db\conf\. Issue the command:
    perl configureDb.pl action=validate dsn=rmeng
NMSROOT stands for your LMS install path (ie. C:\Program Files\CSCOpx).  Check to see if you get errors from this command.  If so, it means you have a corrupted RME database and you will need to re-initialize it or perform a restore from a backup prior to this corruption.  Since it seems to go way back, you will most likely have to re-initialize RME.  To do that, issue these commands while the daemons are stopped:
    1. Go to NMSROOT\bin and type:
    perl dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=rmeng dmprefix=RME npwd=cisco
This sets "cisco" as the database password, if you wish change it to your liking.
    2. Restart daemons:
    net start crdmgtd
This will delete ALL RME historical data from the database.
Also take a look at this DOC and pay special attention to steps 1 through 3.  Make sure you always comply on these in your future LMS server handling to avoid database corruption issues.

  • Getting error RME-02124 while importing repository dump

    Hi All,
I am trying to import a dump file in the repository. I have installed Database 10g and Developer Suite 10g on XP machine.
I have a dump (.dmp) file from Designer 6i, now when i am trying to import it through RAU, getting below error after a min of import start.
The error says that it requires "sdd_reserved_names" table, but my question is since i have fresh installation then how will there be any table exists.
As per my understanding "sdd_reserved_names" table comes when we install a new repository, since i have to import a repository which means, the schema should not contain any repository (Then only we can "Import" option is available in the RAU), so please help me how to import the repository.
    RME-02124: Failed to execute SQL statement: select o.object_name, o.object_type from user_objects o where o.status='INVALID' and exists (select 1 from sdd_reserved_names r where r.rn_res_name=o.object_name and r.rn_type=decode(o.object_type,'PACKAGE BODY','PACKAGE', 'TYPE BODY', 'TYPE', o.object_type)) order by decode(o.object_type,'VIEW',1,'PACKAGE','2','PACKAGE BODY',3,'FUNCTION',4,5)

I am installing repository using "Installing a Repository (SQL Script Method)", but after this when i start RAU as mentioned, and try to install repository it say's, that another repository exits in this oracle instance hence it says that this install will be configured to use private synonym.
when i proceeded with the same after few mins it throws error

  • Desiner error: rme-20021

    Hello,
after the designer 10g installation I'm getting the error message "RME-20021: Failed to open diagnostic trace file. Check permissions to create/modify file: \designer.log".
I tried to find any solution to solve the problem, but I could not find any tips :-(( Please help me to find the reason of this error message... how can I handle whit this problem?
    many thanks, Levin

I've seen messages like this when Designer is having trouble finding files in Oracle Home. First of all, Designer 10g is part of Developer Suite, and you now need to install the entire suite. Even if you install a Designer patch set, you need to install the base Developer Suite first, then the patch set.
If you have done this (and you might want to re-install to be sure) and you are still having this problem, do you have multiple Oracle Homes? Most Designer users do, if just to make sure that they have the export and import clients (exp and iimp) that go with the database that hosts their repository. Make sure that you can run the copy of SQL*Plus that came with Developer Suite - not the one from any other Oracle Home. If you have an Oracle client that has the Oracle Home switcher (like Designer 6i) use the Home switch to make sure that your 10g Developer Suite's home is the currently selected Oracle Home.

    Solaris: /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
to some other directory or path?
If Solaris are the permissions ok on
    /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
They should be 750 on the directories in here and then the .cfg files these directories should be 640
Also, the owner of the files and directories should be user casuser with group casusers and not root

  • RME 4.3 SyslogAnalyzer error

    Hi,
    I've installed LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.
After service start for a few days, the syslog collector stop unexpectedly.
I can see the syslog.log file being updated but I can't see any syslog from report generator.
Also I got no alarms from automated action.
So I checked SyslogAnalyzer.log file, it shows:
    NMSROOT is D:/CSCOpx
    propFileD:/CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\classes\com\cisco\nm\rmeng\csc\data\Collector.properties
    Exception in thread "ActionThread3" java.lang.NullPointerException

        at com.cisco.nm.rmeng.sa.SaActionProcessor.run(SaActionProcessor.java:463)
All other LMS function works normally, except syslog collector.
    Any advice?

I have this same issue and tried the above steps but with no luck, still have the following error in sysloganalyzer.log file
    NMSROOT is f:/CSCOpx
    propFilef:/CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\classes\com\cisco\nm\rmeng\csc\data\Collector.properties

    Any ideas?

  • Error Contract Connection RME 4.3 CiscoWorks

    Kind regards to all:
I have a problem in my RME CiscoWorks.
I need generate reports with the Contract Connection of RME 4.3 "Contract Connection Reports", but, I get the following error message:
CCX0005:You do not have Cisco Services contracts registered to your Cisco.com user ID. Register your contracts with the Cisco Service Contract Center and try again. For more information, refer to Contract Connection FAQ in the Appendix of User Guide for Resource Manager Essentials .
however, I have in my account (cisco.com/Cisco Service Contract Center) several contracts registered. This same account is used on RME.
    what can be the problem?

Essentially you should upgrade you LMS to version 3.2.1 where this issue should be fixed, as LMS older versions has some bugs due to which it happened.
Like for LMS 4.3 it was :
CSCte71764    PSIRT/EoX reports not working due to CCO issues
What do you see in this link:

  • CiscoWorks RME 4.1.1 - CRIN0014 Error

    Hello,
Not sure when this started, but I noticed the following error when trying to go to the report generator in RME:
CRIN0014: Operation failed while connecting to JRM. Make sure jrm and/or CTMJrmWrapper services are running.
I went and made sure all that I downloaded and applied all patches available to Common Services and RME and this did not do anything. The server is connected to ACS and I re-joined them and re-registered all my applications. The other thing I am noticing is when I go to do practically anything in RME that involved the device selector RME shows 0 devices, but in the RME home page I see all 900+ of my devices listed as "normal".
This is a weird issue that just came out of nowhere. Has anyone seen behavior like this in the past? Not sure what I would need to post as far as log files, etc. but I can provide them as needed.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    AJ Schroeder

    AJ,
With this version of RME you MAY be hitting bug CSCte49301.  Based on the release note there is a workaround you can try (see below):
    --Workaround
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    Delete the following two files:
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
    net start crmdmgtd
If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled.  Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted.
It also could be a permission issue with teh system identity user and its permission on ACS.  Ensure the system identity username is configured in ACS with full access privileges in the Ciscoworks "Shared Profile" components.
