Rmi marshalling error after servicegen
I am implementing a service using EJB (Sessions + CMP entities). Clients will access
this service via rmi/t3, CORBA/iiop or via SOAP.
I am generating the Webservices layer using the servicegen ant task.
However, when I try to access my deployed service using rmi/t3, I get the following
exception:
There was a RemoteException .java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments;
nested exception is:
java.io.InvalidClassException: com.x.BondSearchFilterDTO; Local class not compatible:
stream classdesc serialVersionUID=-7233317835783801493 local class serialVersionUID=-5293624757153343350
I should be able to simultaneously access my EJB's via SOAP and rmi, no?
(see below for full stack trace + ant task)

Hmmm... seems like it was a transient thing. After an appserver restart and an "applications"
directory clean, the problem seems to have vanished.
Thanks for your help.

Sure, you should be able to access the service through RMI/t3 and soap

Is your webservice client package name same as your ejb's package name?
Try not to use the same package name. If this is not helping try not to
generate
client within servicegen. You can use clientgen by passing in the wsdl file.
I suspect your original class is overwritten while generating the web
service
client.

Java.rmi.MarshalException: error marshalling arguments
I've two class Client and Main. Eventnotify is implemented in class Client using RMI techniques. Here is sample
public interface EventNotify extends Remote {
void SendNotification (String str) throws RemoteException;
public class Client implements EventNotify {
//implementation of EventNotify
public void SendNotification(String str) {
System.out.println("from srver: ..." +str);
class Main {

int val = stub.register_client(host, clnt); //THE ERROR IS HERE
The idea is to pass remote objects from client to a server. I've a server program running continously, but the problem is on passing objects of type Client. I'm facing marshaling problem.

Java.rmi.MarshalException: error marshalling return;
Hi All,
I'm getting the above error whilst performing a query. My set up is,
Kodo 3.1.5
Weblogic 8.1
I have created some classes using the reverse mapping from Sybase,
enhanced them and uploaded them to my server. I have then attempted to
retrieve the data via an EJB. However I get NotSerializableExceptions
whilst doing so.
I am attempting to return a Collection of enhanced objects, but even a
single enhanced object throws that error
I think it may be something to do with my package.jdo or something else.
Can anyone help?
My package.jdo looks like this,
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jdo>
<package name="com.lehman.clientseg.data">
<class name="AuditRecord" objectid-class="AuditRecordId"/>
<class name="Btb" objectid-class="BtbId"/>
<class name="CashActivity" objectid-class="CashActivityId"/>
<class name="CashBulk" objectid-class="CashBulkId"/>
<class name="CcyTypeIndicator" objectid-class="CcyTypeIndicatorId">
<field name="descn">

</field>
</class>
<class name="Counterparty" objectid-class="CounterpartyId"/>

New @ RMI need help with java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling
Hi @ all out there,
I'm new with Java RMI and have to write a EventSystem for an college project where clients can subscribe to a topic and get notified when someone publishes a message to the subscribed topic.
At server-side I have a class called EventSystem that provides methods for subscribing and unsubscribing from topics, and also for posting messages (for publishers).
To subscribe i thought that the client must specify the topic and also itself ( means that a client calls in this way: obj.subscribe("mytopic", this).
The EventSystem handles a list of all clients, and whenever a new message is posted it goes trough all clients and invokes the handleMessage(String msg) method that all Clients have to provide.
On my local machine without RMi this concept works just great.
I now tried to get it working using RMI , but I get the following Exception when starting the client (the server starts fine) :

So how can i do this? I've never used serialization till now.
any ideas how to solve this problem?

Java.rmi.UnmarshalException: Error unmarshaling return header
Hi,
We are running an RMI server instance to serve data ( from memory) to clients. It works fine if fewer number of inquiries goes in. But when the number of inquiries are larger, I am getting some exceptions at the client side. The server crashes without throwing any exceptions. Following are the exceptions received at client side:
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: Error unmarshaling return header; nested exception is:
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

The period of time, the server keeps on running (before it crashes) is also not the same. Sometimes it works fine without any problem. But most of the time the server crashes after processing some records.
I don't know why this is happening.
Please help...
Thanks in advance..I have this error too when I running my rmi server site program.
I am running it in Linux Environment.
Anyone got any idea about this? -
RemoteException: java.rmi.ConnectIOException: error during JRMP connection
We have a Java application implementing a RMI server.
The server uses with the jacob api in order to generate Word files in a windows system.
My clients work in linux.
The RMI method is synchronized in order not to have problems executing Word from multiple threads.
The application and the RMI server work all right for some time, but after some hours (sometimes days) the client throws the following error:
RemoteException: java.rmi.ConnectIOException: error during JRMP connection establishment; nested exception is:
java.net.SocketException: Connection resetHi Varun,
This is definitely required even if you are on WAS6.40.
After copying this , you have to also follow the register dll using this command
rgsvr32 "c:\Winnt\system32\librfc32.dll"
check the OS your using wether it is windowsXP/2003 or 2000.
there are seperate commands for them to register the dll.
This is available in the installation guide.
we also had the same problem and then we did this and it worked for us.
f you have done this, then there are other possibilities also
1. Install SOAP toolkit on the CRM server as this is required to establish the connectivity
2. See whether the MAPBOX services are deployed on the SAP J2EE engine
3. Create RFC through SM59 only for mapbox and register them.
4. See if there are any old versions of Java on your machine then uninstall them and install the required java components.
Let us know if it resolved the problem
Thanks
Yash

This exception usually means that the target for application-config.xml is not correct. We usually see this happening in a
clustered configuration because the target for application-config needs to be to both the adminserver and the cluster. It is not
possible to target the application-config.xml using the console and you will have to edit the config.xml to have the correct
targetting. For a cluster, the relevant lines in config.xml would be something like:
<ApplicationConfiguration Name="portal"
Targets="AdminServer,MyCluster" URI="META-INF/application-config.xml"/>
Hope that helps,
Ted

MINOR CODE: jms corba marshalling error
I have a JMS queue connection factory and queue deployed on Sun Application Server 8.2 that I am trying to access through jndi. I am able to look up the queues using JNDI when I run a command line test program. It sets the context using my jndi.properties file.
java.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.appserv.naming.S1ASCtxFactory
java.naming.provider.url=iiop://smosi-1:3360
b2bconnection.queueConnectionFactory=jms/B2BintegrationMDBDestinationFactory
b2bconnection.queueName=jms/B2BintegrationMDBBeanWhen I run the code from within another application server called pramati, I get the stack trace printed out below. Pramati is the application server from where I'm trying to access the JMS qeueus located on sun application server. It looks like a marshalling error. I did some digging around, and found out that I am able to read all of the objects from JNDI ( i.e. jms, jdbc, ejb, etc ) except for a mysterious context called __SYSTEM that is being used by the java libraries to load the jmsra resource adapter. This context can be loaded from the command line, but not within the pramati application server. Any attempt to load it gives the error below... If I can solve this, I'll be the star of the development team for sure. PLEASE help me if you can. Thanks.
Other things to note are that both servers have been configured to use the same JDK version, which is 1.4.2_12.

Runtime Errors SYNTAX_ERROR
Date and Time 19.04.2008 17:51:58
ShrtText
Syntax error in program "SAPLXVVA ".
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLVKMP" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
In program "SAPLXVVA ", the following syntax error occurred
in the Include "ZXVVAU04 " in line 5:
"The last statement is not complete (period missing)."
Author and last person to change the Include are:
Author "SAPUSER "
Last changed by "SAPUSER "
What can you do?
Please eliminate the error by performing a syntax check
(or an extended program check) on the program "SAPLXVVA ".
You can also perform the syntax check from the ABAP/4 Editor.
If the problem persists, proceed as follows:
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
In program "SAPLXVVA ", the following syntax error occurred:
"The last statement is not complete (period missing)."
How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

PIF_POSNRHi Kartik,
Could you please be more clearer as to how do you want me to proceed so that this syntax error stops bothering me while creating a standard order thru TCode VA01.Also what do you mean by "well comment the code in the include and activate the include"
I created a projet in CMOD and than added the enhancement V45A0002.The components shown as EXIT_SAPMV45A_002(Predefined sold to party when making the standard order),i double click on the exit and entered into the function module.After that i double clicked on the include ZXVVZU04 and entered in and wrote E_KUNNR=100171
While activating i got error msg 'The last statement is not complete (period missing)." & i have saved inspite the error .After that i tried to create a order and program terminated error came after entering sold to party no. in sales order
so now i have deactivated the project which i created in CMOD & deleted the project also inspite of this i am getting the program terminated error while making the order
I would be great ful if somebody helps me *** out of this syntax error.
Thanks

Internal Server Error after implemeting a Merged Appl_top
Hi folks,
I have been plagued by an issue since a long time. I'm implementing a merged appltop on sun solaris (5.10) on 11.5.10.2
Basically its a clone of two nodes into a single node. After merging, the services are coming up good. Apache is running well. But when opening the AppsLogin page, it is blowing up saying Internal Server Error.
When looked into the mod_jserv.log, it shows the below error.
[07/02/2012 10:28:28:718] (ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: OracleJSP: oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompileException: Errors compiling:/d05/ufindev/ufindevcomn1/_pages/_oa__html//_AppsLocalLogin.java<TABLE BORDER=1 WIDTH=100%><TR><TH>Line #</TH><TH>Error</TH></TR><TR><TD WIDTH=7% VALIGN=TOP>259<TD> isRtl(java.lang.String) has protected access in oracle.apps.fnd.sso.SessionMgr if (SessionMgr.isRtl(langCode)) { </TD></TR></TABLE>

Any idea whats going wrong?

Strange Data Mapping Errors after SEM 6 Upgrade. Please assist.
Hi All, I encountered these sudden Mapping errors after I tried to do Testing in Post Upgrade Sand Box. Here I am trying to to perform Collected Reported Financial Data under Data Collection Method for a particular Company Code 3040. Kindly help me with some quick responses as this is kind of high priority. The errors and the Diagnosis Notes I am unable to follow as I do not where I shall write those Mapping Rules they are referring to. I do not even know if that need to apply any SAP Notes as such. Once again Highly appreciate your quick response and Many Thanks in Advance.
Regards, BIP
Input conversion for field Period Value LC has invalid format Message no. UCT8210 Diagnosis The mapping rule for target field Period Value LC contains a move with a selected Input Conversion indicator. Therefore, the system performs an input conversion prior to creating the target data. However, an error in the input conversion occurred while moving the source key figure to the target key figure Period Value LC. This means that the format used for the input conversion is incompatible with the target data. System Response The system will not perform the move. Procedure Examine the mapping rule for field Period Value LC. Either select the Conversion Exit indicator or deselect the Input Conversion indicator. Execute the method again. -
3040 is incompatible with input format for field /1FB/COMPANY Message no. UCT8258 Diagnosis During execution, the method derives the source selection for source field /1FB/COMPANY from the mapping rule for the target field. 3040 is one of the values that were derived for the source selection. The system requires that this value is in the correct SAP-internal format because the Conversion Exit indicator has been selected in the move operator for field /1FB/COMPANY. However, the value 3040 is incompatible with the SAP-internal format. System Response The system attempts to interpret value 3040 as an external format and convert it to the internal format. If this fails, the system is unable to restrict the source selection using source field /1FB/COMPANY. In this case, the system may read more source data than was originally intended, which can affect performance. Procedure In the log, choose the Source button to display the source selections that are used to read the source data. When this appears, examine values selected for field /1FB/COMPANY. If the correct values were selected, you can ignore this message. To prevent this message from being issued, you can select the indicator in the mapping rule used by source field /1FB/COMPANY. If incorrect values were selected, make sure that the mapping rule used by source field /1FB/COMPANY has been defined correctly. If the mapping rule is correct and value (3040) derived for the source selection does not affect the overall result, you can ignore this message. If the source selection does not contain the value 3040 for field /1FB/COMPANY and, because of this, source data that is supposed to be read is not being read, make sure that the mapping rule has been defined correctly. If the source selection does not contain any value for field /1FB/COMPANY, make an estimation as to how much excess source data is being read and whether this might affect system performance. If you do not expect any performance problems, you can ignore this message. In any event, you have the following alternatives if the mapping rule is defined correctly, but the source selection on field /1FB/COMPANY is unsatisfactory: You can define a source selection for field /1FB/COMPANY in the Customizing settings for the method on the Selection tab page. Then the method uses this source selection instead of the source selection derived from inverse interpretation of the mapping rule. You can implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) UC_DATATRANSFER and use the method INVERT to determine the source selection on field /1FB/COMPANY. Then the method uses the result of the INVERT method for the source selection instead of the source selection derived from inverse interpretation of the mapping rule. -
Cannot derive the source selection from target field Version Message no. UCT8252 Diagnosis Field Version has one of the following roles: Consolidation unit Group currency key Fiscal year Posting period Version To delimit the volume of the source data to be read, the system usually derives the source selection from the target selection of such a field. However, the system cannot derive a source selection from field Version. System Response It is possible that a greater volume of source data is being read than is necessary. This can lead to performance issues. Procedure Check whether a mapping rule is defined for field Version. If a mapping rule is defined, you can disregard this warning message. However, if you discover after method execution that the system did not process a large amount of data, and that system performance was not satisfactory, you may want to examine the source selection by choosing the Source button in the log. If the reason for the disregarded data is that too much source data was read because of the unrestricted selection on the source field (which is linked with target field Versionthrough mapping), choose one of the alternatives below: Change the mapping rule for field Version so that the system can derive a delimiting source selection. Implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) UC_DATATRANSFER with the method INVERT to delimit the selection for the source field that is linked via mapping to the target field Version. -
Cannot derive the source selection from target field Group Currency Message no. UCT8252 Diagnosis Field Group Currency has one of the following roles: Consolidation unit Group currency key Fiscal year Posting period Version To delimit the volume of the source data to be read, the system usually derives the source selection from the target selection of such a field. 1 is incompatible with input format for field FISCPERIOD Message no. UCT8258 Diagnosis During execution, the method derives the source selection for source field FISCPERIOD from the mapping rule for the target field. 1 is one of the values that were derived for the source selection. The system requires that this value is in the correct SAP-internal format because the Conversion Exit indicator has been selected in the move operator for field FISCPERIOD. However, the value 1 is incompatible with the SAP-internal format. System Response The system attempts to interpret value 1 as an external format and convert it to the internal format. If this fails, the system is unable to restrict the source selection using source field FISCPERIOD. In this case, the system may read more source data than was originally intended, which can affect performance. Procedure In the log, choose the Source button to display the source selections that are used to read the source data. When this appears, examine values selected for field FISCPERIOD. If the correct values were selected, you can ignore this message. To prevent this message from being issued, you can select the indicator in the mapping rule used by source field FISCPERIOD. If incorrect values were selected, make sure that the mapping rule used by source field FISCPERIOD has been defined correctly. If the mapping rule is correct and value (1) derived for the source selection does not affect the overall result, you can ignore this message. If the source selection does not contain the value 1 for field FISCPERIOD and, because of this, source data that is supposed to be read is not being read, make sure that the mapping rule has been defined correctly. If the source selection does not contain any value for field FISCPERIOD, make an estimation as to how much excess source data is being read and whether this might affect system performance. Input must be in the format ___,___,__~ Message no. 00088 Diagnosis Your entry does not match the specified input format. System Response The entry in this field was rejected. Procedure The entry must comply with the edit format. The following edit format characters have a special meaning: "_" (underscore) There should be an input character at this point; this should be a number for numeric fields. "." (decimal point) (applies to numeric fields) The decimal point occurs here (setting in the user master record). "," (thousands separator) (applies to numeric fields) This separator occurs (optionally) for more than three figures. Depending on the setting in the user master record, it can be a period or a comma. "V" (applies to numeric fields) The operational sign appears here. If used, it must by at the right margin of the field. The sign is either "-" or " "(space). "~" (tilde) (applies to numeric fields) As of and including this character, leading zeros must also be entered. Otherwise, this character has the same meaning as an underscore. Leading zeros need not be entered on the left of the tilde. They are not output at this position. All other characters have their normal meanings and must be entered in the same position as in the edit format.Hi Dan,
Could you Kiindly advise me where we need to write the Mapping Rules in Consolidation Monitor? All he time the errors refering to Mapping Rules. The only Tab I seen "Mapping" is in Data Basis But as per my Understanding Iwe do not have much to do there as it is system generated Mapping Tab.
Where we actually go and select/deselct those Input Conversion Indicator/ Conversion exit Indicator.
Highly appreciate your advise.
Thanks and Regards,
BIP
