Rminders bug on iPhone

Why does the reminders active screen move around so much since one of the iOS updates a few times ago?  Currently on iOS 8.1 on iPhone 5 (wife having same issue on same iOS on iPhone 5S).  When you go in to reminders and click on an existing reminder to add to or edit, and start typing, the screen scrolls all over the place and end up seeing the keyboard to type on, part of the reminder you are adding to, but the active window you see is not actually where you are actually typing at.  You can scroll the display part up or down to find where you are actually at, start typing again and that will show for a bit and then it all moves again and can't see what you are typing any more.
It never used to do this back on iOS 7 or so and my wife and I use the Reminders app quite a bit and have reminders synced between our phones/accounts.  Used to be very stable that you could see the keyboard and type and the area showing the reminder actually stayed on the cursor and showed what you were typing, no matter how big or small the specific reminder was you were typing in.  And since one of the iOS updates and with every update since, it still fails to show active cursor area and what you are typing.
Anyone know a fix?  Or, more importantly, Apple please address and fix this for the next iOS release!!!  VERY ANNOYING!

The app is just a window into Yahoo Weather. It isn't a bug in the app, it's a goof at Yahoo.

  • Nasty HTML / Outlook 2007 Bug in iPhone 2.0?

Anyone else notice a nasty HTML / Outlook 2007 bug with iPhone 2.0? I've pasted the bug that I submitted to Apple below. So far I've gotten no response. =(
    Summary:
I have found a major bug with sending and receiving HTML emails between iPhone 2.0 and Outlook 2007. When you reply to any email that comes from Outlook 2007 that reply will include broken HTML tags as part of the message. As a result, with each additional reply the message will double in size. It appears these additional replies hit the broken HTML tag and then insert another entire copy of the email. This happens with each and every reply, until after four or five when the phone can no longer deal with the message due to size.
    Steps to Reproduce:
Send an email with HTML formatting to yourself using Outlook 2007.
Reply to the message from the iPhone. The first reply will be fine.
Reply using Outlook 2007 (make sure the formatting is still HTML).
Reply to the message from the iPhone. This reply will include broken HTML tags, and begin the repeat copies inside the email.
    Expected Results:
No formatting issues on replies, no repeat copies of the email inside each reply causing unusable message size growth.
    Actual Results:
Broken HTML tags appear in the replies and cause the message to double in size with each reply. An example of some of the tags that show up are things like:
    color:#1F497D">
    or
    font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif";font-weight:bold">
They do not have the starting "<", which appears to be the root of the issue. These tags will show up near special HTML formatting, such as links or font changes.
    Regression:
The problem always happens on iPhone 2.0 when an HTML formatted reply Outlook 2007 is part of the email chain. This appears to happen with all types of accounts.
    Notes:
I'm assuming that with as many people that use Outlook 2007 I'm not the only person to report this. Our company uses Outlook 2007 as a standard deployment and this bug alone is making us unable to deploy iPhones to employees. I'm really hoping that a fix is already in the works and will be in the next update of 2.0!
    Thanks.

    eric9603,
Have you been able to reproduce this with emails back and forth with any other Mail client besides Outlook that composes in HTML?
Outlook 2007 does not use a browser based HTML generator or renderer. It uses Word's HTML engine for both generating and rendering HTML messages.
    Thank you,
    Nathan C.

  • List of iOS 6 bugs for iPhone 4s

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 6, there have been some unfixed bugs and some new ones.
Where do we direct these bugs to? Is it to this forum? I just want to reach out to Apple so that these bugs can be looked at and be fixed. Lets all share our bugs in an orderly fashion so someone from the Apple's engineering department can have a look and study them.
    1. Lock screen bug
Sometimes, when you try to swipe to unlock the slider goes right up to the middle and goes back to the start making you stuck there.
Same issue when you receive notifications in your lockscreen, you cant swipe all the way.
    Temporary solution:
Press power/lock button once to turn of screen, and press it again to turn it back on. The slide to unlock slider can go all the way through.
    2. Screen not turning off/dim
At some rare occasions the when at homescreen, the backlight doesnt dim nor does the phone locks itself. It remains active and drains your battery. This issue does not seem to persist in applications for me.
    Temporary solution:
Lock manually, dont wait for it to autolock to prevent battery drain.
    3. Battery drain?
I dont seem to experience any battery draining issues in my iPhone 4s. My usage is pretty random. Sometimes, I can be really active. Whereas sometimes, I can use very little. But nevertheless, the iPhone is able to last throughout the day (at least from morning till night) so I can make it in time to charge it for tomorrow's use.
However, I am the only one who is okay with it. And I noticed for me that my battery is able to last longer somehow. I have other friends using iPhone 4s also which experienced serious battery drains after updating.
    Status of phone (Mine):
    3G on
    Bluetooth off
Never closed apps, only turned off navi apps such as Waze
    10.3GB storage free
Vibration off, vibration on only on silent
Phone signal in 3G always in 4 - 5 bar
Result: Battery lasts at least a day
    Status of phone (friend):
    3G off, Edge on
    Bluetooth off
Never closed apps, no navi apps were used
    9.2GB storage free
    Vibration off
Phone signal always in 5 bar
Result: Battery lasts half a day (Ever since iOS6 update)
What have I tried so far?
    1. Restore from iTunes
    2. Turning off autolock, and switching it back on
    What have I not tried?
    1. Clean restore : I am trying to avoid this because, my backup contains important info such as over 300 phone numbers. If only Apple allowed "selective restore". I just cant loose those phone numbers.
As you can see, comparing two iPhones with almost similar parameters showed inconsistent results. Even when the phone has sufficient signal the battery drain is inconsistent.
Thats all for now. If anyone else wants to share their bugs, feel free to do so in this thread.

    Thank you for responding,
The router I am using is a Linksys, we also tried disconnecting that one and connecting the netgear router we have. The security method is WEP I believe, although I could be wrong.
No one else is having issues with their WiFi, just me.  All the laptops are connecting wirelessly, the 2 tablets we have are connecting perfectly fine and all cell phones are connecting.

  • Music player bug on iPhone 5 after iOS7.1.1 update

    Good day everyone,
There are over 30,000 discussions here so i would like to post this report. after i updated my iphone5 to ios 7.1.1 i have been experiencing a bug with the music player. the bug is when i started to play a playlist and tried to select other song within the playlist while a music is running, my action give a next command instead of playing the music that i selected.
i hope for your quick resolution.
    thank you..

I think all you need to do is Reset your iPhone (press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo, then release).  My iPhone 5 on 7.1.1 does not do this, so it is not an iOS bug, just a quirk in your particular installation.  Worse case, you may need to do a Restore of the iPhone, but try Reset first.

  • A sorting songs by the "date added" bug on iPhone and iTunes?

So I've run accross a bug (maybe) that has really been annoying me for a few months now. It has been present since like iOS5 beta 3. It has to do with how my songs are sorted on my iPhone. I've always had my songs sorted by "date added" and I have never had a problem with them showing up in that way. During the beta, my songs started showing up backwards on my phone. My oldest songs would show up first on my phone's iPod even though in my iTunes they were sorted with the newest songs on top. I figured this was a bug and that it would be fixed by apple in the later versions of iTunes and after the official release of iOS5, but I was wrong. It didn't fix after I receieved my 4S. On a side note, I was having this problem initially on my iPhone 4, and it continued on to my iPhone 4S. This is probably one of the MOST ANNOYING problems I've had with my iPhone because my car displays my songs in the order they are on my phone too, and in my car I have to use a wheel and not a touchscreen to scroll all the way to the bottom (you get my point). I haven't actually found a fix for this to where everything works as it is supposed to, but today as I was tinkering with my iTunes to finally fix this problem I decided to sort all my songs by "newest songs modified" just to see if it would fix my sorting problem. It worked. My phone now has all my new songs on top of each of my playlists in ONLY the playlists I choose to have sorted in that specific way. After I realized this fixed my problem, I tried to re-sort all my songs by "date added" again just to see if it would fix my problem because having them sorted by "date modified" is an annoying problem I just dont want to have. It didn't work. So right now, I am sorting my songs on my phone by "date modified" because "date added" doesnt sort them the way it is supposed to when any playlist is transferred from my iTunes to my iPhone. Anyone know whats up? How can I let apple know about this annoying problem? Could it just be me and my computer? I've gone through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS5s including beta, and I've had the problem on two different iPhones. Coincidence? By the way I'm running windows 7, and no, I haven't searched much for this problem on forums or on google because it seems too specific to my situation (and im too lazy to look hard enough).

my problem started with the recent upgrade and this idea (sort on PC iTunes by date modified) worked. I did have to remove my playlist from my phone first and then resync to get things to respond but it seems to work. Why on earth Apple does not provide a mechanism for sorting ON THE F*&^ING PHONE is beyond me. For a company who's mantra is building things that 'they'd want to use' this gaff cannot possible fit into that paradigm.

  • IPod bug on iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.1

This has happened a few times with different albums/tracks:
I'll play an album and realize that a track has skipped and/or a track starts playing a few seconds into the track. Hitting "back" doesn't fix the problem; the track just starts playing at the wrong spot again no matter what I do. Basically the "start" position for certain songs gets set to the very end of the track (resulting in the track immediately ending and moving on to the next track) or the start position gets set to a few seconds into the track. Only an iPhone reboot fixes this. I can't figure out any reason why certain tracks are affected. There is nothing wrong with the tracks. They are fine on the computer and fine after an iPhone reboot.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm close to doing a restore of my phone because of wifi and AirPlay related issues. This problem just pushes me closer.
    Erik

I'm having the same exact problem with my iPod Touch with iOS 4.2.1.
Also the album art doesn't always show on the lock screen and the videos and songs sometime start from the position I left them to, even if I listened to something else after.
Apple better release their 4.2.2 or 4.3 soon and correct these bugs because 4.1 was just fine for me.

  • Language support bug with iphone 2.0 software?

With 2G iPhone running with 2.0 software, I have noticed the following.
When I have "Settings -> General -> International -> Language" set to English, the Chinese text sent in my emails becomes corrupted in the email body, and other non-iphone users cannot read my message contents.
The Chinese text in the email subject, however, looks fine, just not in the message body.
The work-around is to change the "Settings -> General -> International -> Language" setting to Chinese as well, and then send the email with Chinese text. That will work, but it's annoying when you do not want everything on your phone to show Chinese.
Is this a known bug and is there a fix?

Is this a known bug and is there a fix?
It could be that when the OS is set to English, Chinese email is sent in UTF-8 encoding, which is sometimes not supported at the other end. There is no way to change this on the iPhone I think. It can also happen in the ordinary OS X:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121808&tstart=60
Send me a test message in Chinese with your OS set to English and I can confirm (tom at bluesky dot org).

  • Does iOS 8 fix the wifi 'grayed out' bug in iPhone 4S?

    Hi.
I have an iPhone 4S which is running iOS 7.1.2 . Apparently, the wifi was working before upgrading to ios 7.1.2 (from ios 6.1.3). The wifi option is 'Grayed out" in the Settings app and my Mac address is seen as 'N/A' . There are so many 'fixes' for it two of which are temporary (freezer fix and blow dryer fix) It's a really big inconvenience to not have a wifi connection especially when downloading some big files. For those who have used iOS 8 on their iphone 4S (developers et al) does the new and improved iOS version fix this bug? It's nerve racking because I dont know how to save SHSH blobs meaning I cant downgrade from iOS 7.1.2 to iOS 6.1.3 just to get my wifi working. My best bet right now is that iOS 8 will have a fix for this problem. Buying another iPhone is not an option for me right now as my cash is tied up in some projects. Please help.

    Ok guys,
I don't know if these helps but I'm going to describe what happened to me with these, first I must say I have an iphone 4S which when bought, the wifi was working fine. The Wifi grayed issue started happening right after I updated IOS version 7.1.1 to 7.1.2. At first I noticed the phone was becoming slow as **** and that my phone won't connect to any Wifis, so I switched my wifi off and my phone became fast again. If I happened to turn the wifi on again my iphone would just become slow again.
I went an try to look up the issue solution on internet forums and apple support page but noone seems to have definitive solution. Now I read the hairdryer and freezer method, but I don't trust it since, as apple points out, might lead to hardware damage but it kinda make sense to me that something might be wrong with the wifi chip. I read in another forum that if I just erase or restore (I can't quite remember right now the right name) the network configuration it might solve the problem, but it seems it doesn't work either.
I ran out of options and just waited for IOS 8 to come out and correct the problem, but it didn't. So I came to the conclusion that this is in no way, a hardware problem unless update 7.1.2 just damage hundreds or perhaps thousands of iphone 4S, which I think is rubbish. This is without a question a software issue, might be some software incompatibility with the iphone 4s wifi chip.
So to summarize all of these, what happened to me was:
    1) iphone 4S is version 7.1.1 - WiFi works OK
    2) Iphone 4S updates to version 7.1.2 - Wifi no longer works
    3) Iphone 4S updates to version 8.0 - Wifi still doesn't work
I tried the following to solve the issue:
    1) Reboot the device - Fail
    2) Restore Network configuration - Fail (grayes out the wifi)
    3) Update to IOS 8.0 - Fail
    4) Turn on Airplane mode and after 20 seconds off - (ungrayes the wifi but still cannot connect to any wifi)
What I am currently experiencing with IOS 8.0 (it happened also with 7.1.2)
    1) Trying to open "Settings" if wifi is on - it is slow 70% of the time
    2) Trying to open "Settings" if wifi is off - Opens up normally
    3) Trying to open "Settings>Wifi" if wifi is on - opens awfully slow and no wifi is listed
    4) Trying to open "Settings>Wifi" if wifi is off - opens up normally
I hope these helps you apple guys, please fix this issue as my iphone is spending my data plan since I cannot longer use WiFi.

  • How to escalate Time Zone bug in iPhone Calendar to Apple?

Hi, does anyone know how to escalate a bug in the iPhone calendar software to Apple?
Time Zone support on the iphone which causes calendar items created in location "Kuwait" to be saved as "Gulf Standard Time" and not "Arabian Standard Time", which means that they arrive one hour out of sync in iCal.
    To replicate the problem:
    1. Turn on time zone support in both the iPhone and iCal
    2. Set the location to Kuwait on both
    3. Create an item in the calendar on the iphone
    4. Allow it to sync over Mobile Me
    5. See that it turns up 1 hour out in iCal
    6. Open the event in iCal and notice that it is set to "Gulf Standard Time" and not "Arabian Standard Time"
The workaround is to turn the time zone on the iPhone to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which apparently is correctly matched to "Arabian Standard Time"
    Thanks
    Giles

  • Bug? IPhone 3GS and iPad 1 running 4.3 only see one Home Sharing device

I have Home Sharing setup on a Mac mini, a MacBook Pro, an Apple TV, an iPad 1 and an iPhone 3GS. All versions are current (iTunes 10.2.1, iOS 4.3). All devices can see each other, except in the iPod application. The iPod application on either the iPhone or the iPad will only show the Mac mini or the MacBook Pro, and is not consistent as to which is visible. Launching the Remote app on either device detects the Mac mini, the MacBook Pro and the Apple TV, so the computers are definitely advertising their libraries. Has anyone else seen this? It seems like a bug to me.

In case someone finds this in a search down the road, here's the problem:
When I setup my Mac mini I copied the library from my MacBook Pro as a starting point. Because of this, I also copied the unique ID of the library. My iOS devices were differentiating devices based upon ID, rather than name, so they looked like the same device. I deleted the library off my Mac mini, reimported the songs, and I'm good now.

  • Is this a Bug? Iphone and PODCASTS?

When you look at your phone Podcast then select GET MORE, you go on-line, then if you want to see what's in your library, you have to hit the home button, close the iPod screen, then repopen podcasts.
If you go to GET MORE then choose, PODCASTS, it shows you what's online, not your phone, when in fact it should show you what's on your phone. Is this a bug?

To download a podcast with the iPhone, you need to go to the iTunes store. Selecting Get More Episodes for a selected podcast on your iPhone takes you to the iTunes store to view the episodes that are available for download for the selected podcast.
If I select a podcast on my iPhone to view the episode or episodes that are available on my iPhone for the selected podcast, if I select Get More Episodes for the podcast, I'm taken to the iTunes store to view the episodes that are available for download. If I select the home button followed by selecting iPod, I'm taken back to the episode or episodes that are available on my iPhone for the selected podcast.
Selecting Get More Episodes takes me back to the iTunes store, which is required in order to select and download an available episode for the selected podcast that I want to download with my iPhone.
I don't see where or how this is a bug. It appears to be by design.

  • Bugs on iPhone restore

    Hi,
I did restore the iPhone software because my calendar events didn't notified me any longer. Hopefully that problem is gone.
    But I've found another bug.
I told iTunes to use the backup after the software restore but several things aren't the way they were a few minutes before the restore.
I did a backup direct before the restore to make sure everything is covered. But it wasn't. For example: The mail-settings which let me decide where the mailboxes of my imap-accounts should be (local on device or on a server) were reseted. Also reseted were the notification settings for all my mailboxes.
I'm sure there are other settings affected, since this was the case with previous restores.
I've send an feedback to Apple and maybe this report here will help people with the same problem.
Please Apple fix the backup-restore function so every settings is included.
    Regards
    Tohu

    The story continous.
There is an calender event which should notify me at 11am. My iPhone was locked. The display lights up and… nothing. No notification, no sound, no vibration. But the notification settings are set to do all this!

  • Recent call Screen bug on iPhone

The photo below is a screen capture from my iPhone 5c recent call screen. This bug began on my iPhone 4s and carried over once I backed up and then transferred that data to my new phone.  This problem first began after an update a few months ago. Is there a way of getting rid of the bug without getting rid of my contacts, mail etc.? Thank you!

I have never seen this before, and you say it started before the last update, so it could not be an update bug. What troubleshooting have you tried? User troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you restore the device as new and then test it before adding any additional content, it should work. If it does and you restore your backup and it fails again, then the problem is in your backup file. Mail and contacts can be restored from wherever you are syncing them to, i.e. supported application on the computer, cloud service. That would allow you to avoid the backup.

  • Bug in iphone 4s - Red icon shows after restore from backup

    Hi All,
I think i have found a bug with the iphone 4s.
If i restore to new with the latest software 5.0.1 the little red icon does not show on the settings tab but then if i do a restore from backup it shows.
This is annoying and is clearly a bug as the phone is upto date.
    Anyone else having this issue?
I think it might be because i installed the update from 5.0 to 5.0.1 via the phone and not the pc.
    Cheers

If you have back up your notes, you can restore from the backup.
To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
    1. Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
    2. If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup
    Solution from Apple.com: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
If you have no backup for your data on iPhone, iPhone data recovery software is your last shot! I used iTunes Data Recovery and it worked well. It's easy to use. Just a few clicks you can get all your photos back. Here is a step by step guide for you: http://x.co/3Q8U3
