  • Reporting off BPC Cube in HANA using BOBJ Tools

    Hi,
I have a customer who is on BPC NW on HANA. Customer has BPC cube exposed in HANA, We need to do some reporting on that BPC HANA views with the ability to drill down to the hierarchies. Is there a BOBJ tool which would allow the cutomer to:
    1) Drill down on the G/L level
    2) Mobile compatible
    3) Have access to BPC built in logic/metadata
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    I found the following presentation,
SAP Product Road Map SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio
Road Map Revision: June 9, 2014
    https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000390622012D.pdf
SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.3 HANA-only deployment
    Support HANA-only deployment
Design Studio applications saved in HANA Repository
Design Studio runtime is moved to browser, No Java stack as deployment platform is needed
Using firefly instead of BICs at Design Studio runtime
    Require HANA 1.0 revision SPS8 (revision 80)
I think there are some limitations like hierarchies not supported, please check.
    Regards,
    Raj.

  • How to use the PDK  2.0 within Visual Studio 2005

    Hi there,
can you help me? How do I include the needed templates and context menus to the 2005 environment?
Hmm, I wonder if it is possible at all, to program in VS2005
    Thanks

    Hi,
The current version (2.0) of the PDK does not support 2005.
I know that there are plans to support the PDK for .NET for VS 2005.
I am sure that when there will be a clear road-map, SAP will publish it.

  • Issue in creating Credit Note for road carrier invoice from SAP TM system

    Dear All,
I am facing issue in creating Credit Note for road carrier invoice from SAP TM system.
The following steps I have performed:
    1)
    1)    1) Create Freight order with Amount 20,100
    2)     2) Create Freight Settlement Doc and send it to ECC. Hence PO and SES will be created in ECC with Amount 20,100
    3)     3) Invoice verification (MIRO) done w.r.t. FO in ECC with Amount 20,100 and following entries posted :
    Carrier A/c - 20,100Cr
    GR/IR A/c – 20,100 Dr
    4)    4) Created Credit Note in SAP TM against freight order with Amount 1,010 and transfer it to SAP ECC.
    5)    5)  By this a new PO and SES was created with negative values (with amount 1,010) in SAP ECC
    6)    6)  In transaction MIRO, Credit Memo was created against the freight order.
    7)    7)  By this it is showing value 21,110 by adding the line items of Original Purchase Order and Credit Note Purchase Order as 20,100 and 1,010 respectively.
    8)    8)  By posting this following are the accounting entries which is not correct:
    Carrier A/c – 21,110 Dr
    GR/IR – 20,100 Cr
    GR/IR – 1,010 Cr
    9)    9)  In report FBL1N which is showing the remaining liability of value 1,010(21,100 – 20,100) instead of 19,090 (20,100-1,010=19,090) for the carrier.
Please suggest how to resolve the issue and get the correct accounting for credit memo?
    Regards,
    Vibhu Gupta

    Hello,
Like my reply in Linkedin group, I got the same issue and solved with BADI in TM side(REQREQ...).

  • SAP BI on Mobile

    Hi
There is a lot of excitement about mobile BI especially with the release of the Apple Ipad.  There are two tools we use in class to demonstrate mobile BI to students.  Both tools can be downlaoded from Apple iTunes and are free.
The first tool is RoamBI.  It has an associated web site with a number of videos to demonstrate its functionality.  You can find these videos at: http://www.roambi.com/
The second tool is an SAP tool called SAP Business Objects Explorer.  This is an online BI tool which you can upload your own spreadsheet and then perform the appropraite analysis with an intuitive interface.  SAP have released a version of SAP Business Objects Explorer for the iphone and ipad.  You can find more details at EXPLORE YOUR BUSINESS ON THE GO [original link is broken]
There are a lot more SAP solutions available on mobile devices but here I have just focussed on BI related tools.

    No problem, happy to help.
Currently, it is not possible to have the DS dashboard offline.
The feature is on the road map for DS, you can check that here:
    https://www.asug.com/discussions/docs/DOC-37973
The feature is being designed with mobile devices in mind so there will be some offline functionality but at this time I dont know to what extent. .

  • Can you help me on these 6 SAP BW interview questions?

    Hi,
Can you help me get a better understanding of the expectations in the following interview questions?
Please explain them in your on words and if you think there is an additional information, you may provide the link but I am more interested in your own words and the typical things to say:
    1. What is your “performance tuning” experience (discussion is on SAP BW)?
    2. What is your experience with “SAP BW change control”?
    3. You will have to ensure data integrity, adherence to standards and process excellence. What is your experience?
    4. What exactly is entailed in a “full-lifecycle SAP BW project”? When can one say that she has 3 full-lifecycle SAP BW project experience.
    5. You will be responsible for working with business to develop business intelligence metrics and analytics. What is expected to be discussed on “business intelligence metrics and analytics.”?
    6. You will be responsible for designing road-map for data warehouse implementation and growth. What is your experience?
    Thanks

    Amanda,
All the questions posed have a rider to it mentioning 'Your Experience' - I am not very sure if we can tell you what your experience has been...

  • How do I apply SAP's mantra, "Run Like a Factory" to my Basis/Security team?

I will preface this by stating that I am a newbie to SAP, and I am not technical. Currently I manage a Basis/Security team, albeit understaffed.
For the past 5 years I have been charged to:
Organize the team into a highly-performing department. (Done!)
Leverage existing SAP (and non-SAP) tools to drive up the performance and availability of our SAP landscape. (Currently on SolMan 7.1, SP12. Early Watch reports for 17 instances. Crank out CQC's like they are free candy)
Take full advantage of our SAP Enterprise Support. (Monthly calls with our Ent. Support Advisor. Burn through our EGI's, AEI's, and Road Maps. Training curriculum built around the Ent. Support Academy offerings, etc.)
But there is a part that is missing, and this is where I need guidance. What I am referring to is the integration and synchronization of my team with the abundance of proactive services of SAP's MarketPlace (MP) and Enterprise Support (ES). Here is what I mean:
So I am subscribed to umpteen SAP "MP" & "ES" newsletters and RSS Feeds, I occasionally browse the Security Portal (because I can't find where to subscribe to an RSS Feed), I receive the "SAP Support Notification" email every couple of days, I am connected to their Social Media presence, and there are a few other communication channels I am connected to. But from all of this what I am missing is... Continuity!
I have had this nagging feeling that I am missing, or not yet fully aware, of some basic elements within the "MP" or "ES" that I need to address so that the steady flow of information from these channels are relevant and substantial. Here is my best example:
Every few days I receive the "SAP Support Notification" email. At first the email was basically empty. I figured out that I had to choose my instances within my subscription so that I receive relevant information. I accessed my instance list and found it was a mess. So I had my architect remove all obsolete instances.  The contents of the email is now more substantial, but there is more to the email that I don't understand the relevance of.
Another example is the SAP Security Portal. I can't figure it out. Updates, announcements, etc. aren't sent out. I have to remind myself to visit the Portal.
I have a few more examples, but this post is already too long. I need help with the manipulation of the basic elements of "MP" and "ES" to start receiving more substantial, and actionable, proactive support. Once I have this I can integrate this support into the daily administration of my SAP ecosystem, as well as define KPI's and metrics to strive for improved performance and availability.
    So what am I missing?

    Hi Pete,
This is a great discussion item, and I am glad that you brought it up!  There is a lot of information out there, and how to syphon it so it relates to you is definitely something that is important.
Couple points/questions on the above, and then some information that may help future wise.
There are many notifications within the SAP Support Portal that you can subscribe to.  Some require filters, some are based on 'subscribing' to Spotlight News or to specific notes and KBAs.  Happy to set up some time with you to go through these in detail.
What is the URL to the SAP Security Portal you mention?  Are you referring to this area: https://support.sap.com/kb-incidents/notifications/security-notes.html?
Future direction is focusing on personalizing your experience within the portal.  Giving you what you need, when and how you prefer.  We can chat on that as well.
Feel free to reach out to me directly.
    Cheers,
    Kristen

  • What are the different types of analytic techniques possible in SAP HANA with the examples?

    Hello Gurus,
Please provide the information on what are the different types of Analytic techniques possible in SAP HANA with examples.
I would want to know in category of Predictive analysis ,Advance statistical analysis ,segmentation analysis ,data reduction techniques and forecast techniques
Which Analytic techniques are possible in SAP HANA?
    Thanks and Regards
    Sushma C Narasimhamurthy

    Hi Sushma,
You can download the user guide here:
    http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CFcQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fhelp.sap.com%2Fbusinessobject%2Fproduct_guides%2FSBOpa10%2Fen%2Fpa_user_en.pdf&ei=NMgHUOOtIcSziQfqupyeBA&usg=AFQjCNG10eovyZvNOJneT-l6J7fk0KMQ1Q&sig2=l56CSxtyr_heE1WlhfTdZQ
It has a list of the algorithms, which are pretty disappointing, I must say. No Random Forests? No ensembling methods? Given that it's using R algorithms, I must say this is a missed opportunity to beat products like SPSS and SAS at their own game. If SAP were to include this functionality, they would be the only BI vendor capable of having a serious predictive tool integrated with the rest of the platform.... but this looks pretty weak.
I can only hope a later release will remedy this - or maybe the SDK will allow me to create what I need.
As things stand, I could built a random forest using this tool, but I would have to use a lot of hardcoded SQL to make it happen. And if I wanted to go down that road, I could use the algorithms that come with the Microsoft/Oracle software.
    Please let me be wrong........
