Why can't I send e-mails to Roadrunner e-mail accounts?

Are you getting an error when trying to send the message or are you getting a bounceback after it's sent? What error are you getting?

Roadrunner "Get Mail" button doesn't work in Mail client 10.4.6 on iMac Intel dual core running 10.6.8 . Activity bar shows 100's of emails downloading, but none appear in inbox.  sent and draft mails box updates normally. outgoing emails send normally. web version and iPhone Mail inbox work normally and showall incoming messages.  Preferences reset per TWC -  updated user names, servers, password etc.  Incoming and outgoing servers on desktop changed to "mail.twc.com" Ports correct.  Restarted computer, no help.  Connection doctor shows computer accesses internet and mail server.  memory capacity 65% of allowable by TWC.  Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Roadrunner e-mail just doubled?????

My roadrunner e-mail account on my iPhone 4s just doubled every e-mail that I have. It shows that I have over 1,800 new e-mails, but these are old e-mails that I've read and/or deleted. What would cause this and why would it double every single e-mail that I have on this account? I hit edit and selected all and mark as read, but I still have all of these old messages in my account now.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    J

  • Mails block POP-transfer

I'm having a problem with some "special" mails. Some mails block my mail client. The mails are generated by a worm called "sober". When I select a mailbox and click "info" I see the mails with an empty subject and empty sender. If there is at least one of those mails on the server - any mail client on the Mac refuses to download any mails from the server. I tried not only Apple-Mail, but also Eudora. When I access the server from a Windows machine it is no problem to retrieve the mails.
Any idea how to fix this?
    Detlef

    Hello Detlef.
Although I haven't experienced the same yet, I've seen something similiar reported regarding certain spam messages that contain unusual HTML formatting that prevent all valid messages from being downloaded that were received at the server after the problem message but this is the first time I've seen a report regarding "ghost" emails with an empty subject and sender not being downloaded by the Mail.app and preventing valid messages from being downloaded.
Most ask how to deal with these "ghost" messages after being downloaded by the Mail.app since these messages cause problems for the Junk Mail filter.
How do you know these "ghost" messages are generated by the sober worm? If so, these messages probably contain an attachment infected with the sober worm.

  • Apple Mail blocks Charter email, which blocks Apple mail

I am running 10.6.8 on a 2008 Mac Pro. I was using MS Entourage as my email program. I want to upgrade to Lion/Mtn Lion, but my old MS Entourage or other Office programs won't work on that, so I decided to start using Apple Mail (version 4.6)
I get my email thru my ISP, Charter.net,
When Apple Mail is OPEN it will not connect to Charter email, and Charter email will not display or recieve or send any email, nor will Entourage (POP) or a MS Outlook (trial version). Apple Mail says it "cannot connect to the IMAP server," and it "cannot connect to the SMTP server."
I have set up Apple Mail correctly according to Charter: IMAP port 143, SMTP port 25, no SSL etc (default email reader Entourage, but I've tried Mail, Outlook, etc. …no change in my problem)
When I quit Apple Mail, the others will immediately access/send emails.
The problem seems to be that for some reason Apple Mail blocks Charter mail from connecting, but since that is where I get my email, Apple Mail is blocking itself, Entourage and Outlook from connecting to the IMAP/SMTP servers, therefore no mail service.
The strange thing is that now and again Apple Mail WILL connect—briefly—and mail will come in/go out, but then drops offline again.
I've been on the phone with Charter for a couple hours and had a service tech here this morning for an hour, but everyone is stumped. Of course none of them are very Mac-savvy, so that doesn't help.
    Can any of you help?

I've been having exactly the same trouble with my Charter E-mail Accounts.
I first use two of my existing Charter E-mail Accounts (which I have never used in years!). Set them up in Apple Mail (Snow Leopard 10.6.8, on my MacPro 4.1) as POP Accounts!
They did work sometimes, but now I can only receive mail.
Set up a new Charter E-mail Account, and used that to Set Up in Apple Mail as IMAP Account. It does NOT work at all, period, either way.
I've been on the phone with Charter Tech Support many, many, many times, for many hours, but nobody has a clue. They tell me to check their webpage for Set Up, which I don't need because I've been through the Set-up Procedure so many times already.
Then they tell me to call Apple Tech Support, which I cannot afford.
So, now I'm back to using my old DreamHost E-mail Accounts, which work just fine, after their Tech Support helped me to resolve some issues. They had me open Terminal, then Keychain. I tried all three Keychain Methods, which resolved the issues with DreamHost E-mail.
I'm going to try setting up my G-mail Account in Apple Mail and see what happens .....

  • E-mail blocking does not appear to be working

A person I normally email has had their address book spammed so I am getting emails from them with questionable links.  While Verizon has been sending the emails to my spam box instead of my inbox - I did using blocking to block the email address as well as filters to delete any email coming from this email address.  However, the emails are still going to my spam box.  I want the emails to be deleted and not come in at all as I am afraid someone else in the household will click on one of the links.  I also deleted the email address from my contact list.  What am I missing?  It would seem to me that if you block it and filter it - you should be getting NO emails from that address.

I think the reason has to do with your blocking.  Your blocked senders may be over riding your filters.  so go to your mail settings, and back to the blocked section.
    there are three options there.
Do not use blocked senders list
Delete the emails from the blocked senders list
Save the emails from those on the blocked senders list
You may have the 3rd one marked?  that would make sense to me.
you can also delete the blocked senders, if you have filters in place.

  • Mail Block & Folder problem

    Hi,
I would like to block receiving mail from few people. Is there any such setting needs to be done progrmatically through java mail api.Again this is user dependent.
Also i would like to know that if i want to move messages from inbox to user created folder ,how do i do it.Also the status should be copied.

To block receiving mail from few people, you can achive this by settimg up channel wide filters, or by mapping file.
To move messages from inbox to user created folder use mboxutil.

  • Outgoing mail blocked by spamhaus

I am using zen.spamhaus for spam protection and it seems to work great. One problem though... it also check outgoing messages. This is good in that it prevent unauthorized mail from going out, but it is also blocking some of my users, even though they authenticate first (as is required). Is there a way to change this so that authenticated users will not be picked up by spamhaus?

If you look at/implement my tutorial Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server you will see the correct configuration for checking authentication before the RBLs. In addition you will reduce your spam intake significantly.
If you don't want to add anything to your default configuration, make sure that the following parameters in /etc/postfix/main.cf are in the right horizontal order:
    smtpdclientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks, permitsaslauthenticated, rejectrblclient zen.spamhaus.org, permit
smtpdrecipientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks, permitsaslauthenticated, rejectunauthdestination, rejectrblclient zen.spamhaus.org, permit
This will make sure that once authenticated or coming from the internal network, the RBL won't be queried.
Furthermore, I would add a separate submission port (587) for your authenticated users only, bypassing the content filter as well. This can be done by adding the following to /etc/postfix/master.cf
    submission inet n - n - - smtpd
    -o content_filter=
    -o smtpdrecipient_restrictions=permit_saslauthenticated,reject
    (3 spaces before -o )

  • Outbound e-mails blocked in Outlook

I'm using Outlook V14.0.2 for Mac and suddenly outbound messages became blocked again.  Had problem previously more than a month ago when Port 25 was blocked so changed to port 587 and all was well.  Suddenly this problem has reappeared again and with Port set ot 587 outbound e-mails are again blocked.  Does anyone have a similar problem?

    Anthony_VZ,
Thanks for your reply but I still cannot get this going.  If I change the outgoing port to 465 and check the secure SSL option, it simply times out and still never sends the message.  So, I tried all combinations -- setting the new port numbers as you have suggested for both incoming and outgoing, turning SSL both on, then off and nothing seems to work for the outbound messages.  I am OK on inbound and even if I reset the incoming port to 995, messages come in on port 110.  So, problem still exists for my outbound messages.
Any other suggestions?  I am using a MAC and the version of Outlook is 14.0.2.  All had been working fine so something must have changed on the verizon side.

  • Why is my @mac e-mail blocking messages from one source?

I noticed over the summer that I was no longer receiving e-mails from my church. I am very involved, so I need to be able to communicate with various staff members-- but multiple attempts to correct this problem have failed:
    1) we have verified that they have my correct address;
    2) I have added all the relevant addresses to my Contacts and designated them VIPs (whatever that means);
    3) I have checked my settings and I do not have any filters that should be blocking these messages;
    4) the messages are NOT in my Junk or Trash folders!
PLEASE let me know what I can do to fix this problem!
    Thank you,
    Beth

iCloud is my e-mail service provider.
I logged on to the icloud website and checked my inbox, and the messages are not showing up there, either. Though the addresses that are being blocked are in my contacts and autopopulate when I compose a message, I have not received messages from these addresses in months (though I have confirmed they were sent to the correct address).

  • Incoming mail blocked need help

hello, all, I cannot receive email on the wifi servers at work, they block all email coming and going. As I recall, there is a program/service that allows you to receive and send mail from wifi servers, even blocking servers, something like auth smtp. However, their website says they can only send email, not receive email. Since I don't have 3G, need to receive email via wifi, any suggestions? thanks

Thank you very much Weth. I do have a current active Verizon account, with my iPhone 4S active on this account. Do I just need to call Verizon from Costa Rica to ask them again to unlock my phone? Is there a special number to call at Verizon to unlock phones? Thank you again. This is helping.

  • Mail blocks machine.

Hi, I am having serious trouble with Mail , as it sometimes gest stuck while sending som e-mail and then the rainbow clock starts spinning. It does not let me force to quit the app. and sometimes the whole machine gests blocked, an I-Mac 24" 3,06 4GB, with OSX 10,5,6. So as the only solution i know i have to shut down the computer by pressing the on-off button. after that i have found all accounts ereased in one ocasion. the other colateral problem is that i have one draft i am unable to erase from the draft folder in mail. this was one of the e-mails that gave me problems while being sent. this happens almost once per week and i am a bit upset. i like that app. but i think it must be improved to make it more stable and smooth. can you please help me? thank you.

    Force Quit .
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select  Mail, if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window.   Wait.
    Mail will quit.
    Shut down the computer.

  • Mail blocks shutdown and automatically re-starts

When I try to shot down the Mail program blocks the shutdown, and it automatically opens at start-up even though it is NOT a login item. (It started after I installed the Avast anti-virus program). Any idea what cause this and what to do about it? Thanks.

I learned to shut down all my major programs before shutting down. It has saved me countless headaches. I don't have an answer for the program automatically starting up when it's not a login item, but perhaps it has something to do with the way you end up shutting down. If you just shut down by pushing the power button that would be why.

  • Roadrunner outgoing mail problem

Since my comcast account was changed to a Roadrunner account, I have had problems with my outgoing mail on my powerbook. I have no problem while at home hooked up to my RR cable. But when I travel and am on the hotel internet access, I can receive with no problem but cannot send via RR using Mail on my MacOS system. I must always go to the web based RR acount or use my seldom used .Mac account. Any ideas why I can't send email out. I am using smtp-server.tx.rr.com; port 25 no authentication, unchecked SSL.

You can try changing the Server Port from 25 to 587 for RR's SMTP's server when traveling and not connected to the internet via RR and if this doesn't work, you need to check with the hotel's front desk or with the hotel's internet service provider for their required settings when using an SMTP server that is outside of their network.
Since hotels have business and other types of travelers that take a notebook along and need access to their email accounts including sending messages with an email client such as Mail that requires using an SMTP server, certainly the hotel and/or the hotel's ISP is aware of and takes account for this but maybe not.
I don't travel as much as I once did but in my experience with some recent travel staying at a hotel with Ethernet internet access only in the room and wireless network access in the lobby area, after I logged in to the hotel's website that is provided when first connected and launching a browser, the hotel provides a password or passkey when checking in for gaining internet access via their network and internet access provider and after entering the required password, I was able to send messages with .Mac's SMTP server using Mail which is authenticated separately but I use 587 for the Server Port.
RR does not have or support an authenticated SMTP server so using 587 for the server port may work and if not, you must check with the hotel's front desk or with their internet service provider that should include technical support for their required settings.
