Roadrunner Email

How do I set up ipod touch to send and receive email from roadrunner? I cannot get to advanced settings during setup. Cannot check port settings or deselect ssl settings etc. Roadrunner gave me the settings, but I cannot make them when setting up account.

Ignore the warnings and save anyway. I don't have a Roadrunner e-mail account.
When I posted yesterday, I just typed in random information with a @tx.rr.com e-mail address.
I got the warning that the user name or password is incorrect.
I clicked OK.
Then I clicked Save.
I got the warning that "the account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?"
I clicked Save.
That dropped me back to the account list showing the dummy account.
I clicked on the account and scrolled down to Advanced.

Try this.. Click the first in the CC field hold Shift, Click the Second Third, Fouth, Fifth and so on... click right Mouse select add to Contacts.

Have you tried a manual setup?
After you have entered your information at the first setup window hold the alt (option) key down as you click on continue and that should allow manual setup. You'll obviously need the correct email credentials/POP or IMAP and SMTP details to input.

Roadrunner emails

i have roadrunner for email on computer. When i send a video or picture to my gmail on droid the droidx shows preview but no dwnload . when you open preview it says"sorry, this type of document is not supported for viewing" any clues out there. If it's a link,say to utube i have to copy/paste it in new email and send it, forwarding won't work.

I do not beleive size is the issue because If you are sending on wifi from your house then Roadrunner will allow you to send file because it is being sent from a verified ip address that your modem generates but when you are sending from the Verizon network you have to have the correct access port information in the outgoing settings to send.

Houston Time Warner/Comcast roadrunner emails

Is anyone having trouble sending emails from houston.rr.com email accounts? I can receive OK, but when I try to send, it says the recipient was rejected by the server.

it is rejected because the outgoing mail server is only for computers connected to their ISP, meaning a computer connected to your cable modem or to a router thats connected to the cable modem. When you are on Edge, you can no longer access their mail server and so you can't use it. When you are connected to Edge, try using cwmx.com for the outgoing mail server and leave the pw and username blank. That is the mail server provided by Cingular/ATT. You may have to turn off SSL if it is enabled for this to work.

Thunderbird will not send emails...but claims they are "sent" (no error message)

Up until the beginning of this month my Thunderbird was working fine with my roadrunner email address. I have not downloaded any new software or made any changes to my settings during this time. Now I can no longer send emails (although it claims they are sent) and I never get an error message. I'm definitely in online mode, can receive all messages fine, and can send messages from my road runner server fine through webmail. I have checked to ensure no firewalls or antiviruses are blocking my outgoing messages and know the SMTP is correct. Please help!

Hi...thanks so much for your help! It says "mail sent successfully" and shows it in my sent folder after I click send.

Can't send email when not on my home wifi

I use roadrunner as my email. I also have my own domain that I forward my email to my roadrunner email address. I have configured my email using the settings at http://help.rr.com/hmsfaqs/e_rrmail_emailSettings_iphone.aspx. I have double check it. When setting up my email I use my domain email address. I have configured the pop-server to point to my roadrunner email address and I point the outgoing server to also use my roadrunner account. This work perfectly fine when I am at home. I am able to send emails. The problem is that when I am on AT&T wifi network or some other wifi network I get an error that I my domain email address was rejected by the server.The only way to get it to send is to turn off wifi and use 3G. It then sends properly. This use to work for the past 2 years, but has stopped working. There were no changes on my end except the upgrades to new 4.3.x iOS upgrades. I didn't notice when this stopped working and whether it was due to an iOS upgrade or a change on by roadrunner on their servers.
If I change the return email address from my domain email address to my roadrunner email address, it send fine both at my home wifi and at AT&T wifi network. I have contacted roadrunner help support. They were less than helpfull. After 5 emails and 5 response from them, they said it was an Apple issue and that I should contact apple. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

I am able to send on and off roadrunner's network, if have have my roadrunner email addres as the reply to by using the following http://help.rr.com/hmsfaqs/e_rrmail_emailSettings_iphone.aspx. My problem is when the reply to is not my roadrunner address but my own domain (which is forward to roadrunner) I can't send off network. I have not been able to solve that issue.

Email background color selection - can't locate the option!

I have a BB 8830 running OS 4.2.2.148 on Verizon. I use the application BES Mailbox so I have my work BES email seperated from my personal Roadrunner email. Some time ago, I found a way to change the background color of email messages (one color for BES, a different color for the Roadrunner). Well, I'm sick of that now but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change/remove the background colors! Can any of you expert BB users help me out?

I have a bold 9700 OS5.0, I do NOT have the General Settings folder under the Security Settings folder. I cannot for the life of me find the message background colors options. help!

Firefox crashes sometimes when I login to my email?

I recently upgraded to CA internet security suite 2010 and sometimes when I log in to my roadrunner email the tabs will flash between log-in and message list and then Firefox will crash. When I hit the Firefox icon on my desktop the log in page will reappear and most of the time I can get into me email. Is there a compatible issue here or is there something else going on?

See if you have install "Tor Browser Bundle for Mac with Firefox" hidden somewhere, if you have it you must unistall it.

ICloud server blocking Earthlink forwarded emails

Looks like a problem that has happened before with respect to blocking of Roadrunner emails sent to people with me.com email address has resurfaced, this time with Earthlink. I have an old Earthlink account (at least 20 years old, which I keep only because of the number of online accounts linked to this email - almost 1000), and I have email forwarding set up on it to forward all emails to my me.com account, where I can review it at home or on one of my mobile devices. It has been working well for about 8 years.
Today, however, messages sent to my earthlink.net address are being bounced back to the sender due to this error:

It seems that the spam filtering service, proofpoint (who was at the root of the problem with roadrunner blocked emails before), has blacklisted several of Earthlink's IP addresses, probably because they were the source of some email spam. However, there are many legitimate emails also being relayed via these IP addresses, which are being blocked. I called Earthlink, and basically wasted 90 minutes talking to a level 1 tech ("try restarting your computer") and his supervisor ("it's Apple's fault, not ours"). I spoke with Apple, who was more receptive, but unable to help (escalated to iCloud engineers). I personally entered the IP information on ProofPoint's website via their online form for such inconveniences. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.
As an aside, I wish I could just jettison Earthlink after all these years - it's an archaic system, with horrendous email. But, I just don't have the time to go to literally hunderds of websites to update my email address. Anyone have any solutions that have worked for them?

Still no resolution on this issue after 48 hours. Emails forwarded from Earthlink to iCloud are still bouncing. I submitted the culprit IP addresses to Proofpoint (for me it was addresses in the range 207.69.195.98 - 207.69.195.101 - there may be many more, of course). If you haven't submitted this info to Proofpoint yet, it's probably a good idea to do so at:
https://support.proofpoint.com/dnsbl-lookup.cgi
Enter the IP address that is being blocked (based on the email bounce message your sending parties receive), and then add your name and destination email address. Hopefully, Proofpoint will open up the corresponding IP range.
For now, I just added my Earthlink account onto my Mail.app accounts and onto to my iPhone (POP). I wish Earthlink had IMAP capability. What an archaic system!

RoadRunner SMTP and Mac Mail problem

Hello all. I have set up my new iMac, and am attempting to get my RoadRunner email working. The inbound server (POP) works fine. I can receive email without a hitch. However, the outgoing server is not working, and I get an error message saying that I need to double check the password and username. I have verified with RoadRunner that my server addresses, username, and password are all correct. The RR webmail works fine sending/receiving. The issue seems to be with the Mac Mail program. Any ideas on how I can get it going? I am connected to the internet via my Airport Express wireless network if that matters. (And a RR Cable Modem.) Thank you for any help!

Road Runner SMTP mail is surprisingly difficult to get working with Apple Mail, even if you have all the values exactly correct. I had this issue at a client last week, and these are the instructions I followed to get it working. See the second post in the thread - it does have some confusing steps, so read the following posts too, which clarify them. Basically you're going to set up the account again, manually, but with no SMTP authentication.

Can't get email after Firmware 2.0 update

I updated to 2.0 and my email worked for the first day.
Now neither my Roadrunner email or my gmail account can get mail on my iPhone.
The mail program runs and never stops spinning, just times out.
Any suggestions?

We have three Original iPhone's and the same thing happened to all of our phones. Email will download a few times and then we just get the "spinning wheel". If we turn off the phone and restart it, email will download. After the initial download it may work for a few seconds to an hour and then stops working. Basically we have to restart our phones every time we want to check/download email. Also experiencing tremendous battery drain with 2.0 - not sure why? I would go back to the old firmware if I could and wait it out. Not happy at all - looking for 2.0.1???

Keep recieving email messages from pop server

I set up my hotmail and roadrunner emails to go to my phone but have noticed that if I delete one, I often get it again and again. I have checked the settings on my phone and they appear to be correct. I have no trouble sending/recieving. I'm just tired of getting the same email multiple times. If I do not delete it, I don't get it again. I would love to be able to delete them without them coming back! Also, I am getting emails from a while back (before I even got my phone) that are showing up as unread messages.
Phone is an LG Ally. I've had it < week.

Ok, I checked our computers and this did not fix it. I have noticed as long as we do not delete them from our phone we won't get them again, but if we delete, they come right back. HELP!
