Hi Vlad Dodin,
I want to get more information about this issue.
Had you got any error messages during the login process?
If no domain users can log into those PCs?
If this is just a login problem in those PCs and there is no error Roaming profiles error during the login process, this article may be helpful for you:

  • Roaming profiles not created while the creation of user account

    Hello,
Our file server (running windows server 2003) is hosting Roaming profiles for users (in active directory running 2003). And that worked just fine till this week, when trying to create some users, we figured out that their roaming profiles are not created
(after their first logon the the domain of course)
We checked out the NTFS permissions and the SMB share permissions, and everything looks correct.I have even modified the permissions as Microsoft recommands. But still nothing has changed.
What could be the problem? or where to look for some paths to troubleshoot this problem??
    Thanks in advance!
    Lotfi BOUCHERIT

    Hi Lotfi B,
    According to your description
the user, is not able to access the share from the Explorer, as Awinish said, there may be a network or Firewall issue.
Please try to troubleshoot the network issue referring to the following article:
    Troubleshoot network connection problems
In addition, it would be helpful if you could help to collect the following information:
Could the old users access the share?
Did the GPResult show the GPO had applied successfully? Please run
    Gpresult /h > C:\temp\gpresult.html  (“C:\temp\”is the path of the gpresult.html,
you can set it yourself) in Command Prompt, the file gpresult.html is used for checking the resultant of Group Policy information.

  • Firefox Error with Roaming Profiles "Could not initialize the application's security component"

    Hi there
I get the common error "Could not initialize the application's security component" when I startup Firefox.
    I tried this manual: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/couldnt-initialize-applications-security-component
I have enough space left, i have read/edit/write-rights, created a new firefox profile and also reset all the settings, nothing works.
BUT I dont have a cert8.db File in my %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
    What can I do?
Like I said in my description, its about Users that are logged in with a Roaming-Profile. Every User has this problems, it doesn't matter if or without Admin-Rights.
Also this problem exists since Firefox 4.0.0, the last working Version was 3.6.13 I guess.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
Try to remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox profile folder.
If that didn't help then also rename the cert8.db file to cert8.db.old or delete the cert8.db file to remove intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.<br />
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previous intermediate certificates.<br />
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 25: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • How do I configure roaming profiles to not apply to Domain Admins?

    Hi,
I have a setup (Windows 2012 R2 on all servers) where roaming profiles and re-directed folders are applied through GPO to our RDS servers.
We decied to change this so only users, and not Domain Admins will have these settings applied.
Re-directed folders is a user setting, so that was changed easily, but the roaming profiles is applied to computer object.
So my question is; how do I configure roaming profiles only for some users (or a security group) and not for Domain Admins?
    /KL_Dane
    KL_Dane

    Hi Dane,
    >>So my question is; how do I configure roaming profiles only for some users (or a security group) and not for Domain Admins?
Sorry, this is not acheivable, for computer part policy settings apply to computer accounts, regardless of which user logs onto the computers.

    Hi,
I am trying to install informatica and seem to be hitting a common installation problem.
I get to the 'Domain Configuration' point and the installation halts @ the 'Pinging the domain'.

  • Login problems with the provisioning console

    Hello,
I have a single-box installation of Oracle Collaboration Suite 10.1.2 on a Win2k3 box. I installed the following components:
    Oracle Calendar Server
    Oracle Calendar Application System
    Oracle Collaboration Suite Web Access
    Oracle Collaboration Portlets
The installation went by smoothly and all of the performed verification tests were performed successfully.
But, I'm having the problem that when I cannot login to the Provisioning console. The login screen just stays waiting for the authorization to go through after entering the orcladmin credentials. I definitely get an error message (the user or password is incorrect) if I type in a wrong password or a different user (at this point I'm guessing that the only active account is orcladmin since I haven't been able to configure any other account).
I don't know what is going on or how to begin debugging this situation. I tried the ldapbind command on the command prompt and the bind was successful with just the port and the orcladmin user.
Can anyone help me? Which logs should I verify for errors? Has this happened to someone else before?
I don't know if this could also affect it, but there is an Oracle Collaboration Suite 9.0.4 on the same domain. Would that affect this in anyway?
    Thanks,
    Ana

I don't think that they are conflicting. The servers are on two seperate machines.
Plus, I can connect just fine to the Oracle 10's Oracle Directory Manager using the default port 389.
I did some investigations using an HTTP tracking tool. When I try to login to the provisioning console, I keep looping through the following HTTP responses:

  • LUM, integrated login, roaming profile

Re-reading many message threads in this and other forums, I'm
confused. For SLED, LUM creates users accounts on-the-fly after eDir
login (like DLU on ZEN on Windows), the Novell client reads login
scripts and maps drives (like on Windows) but integration with LUM is
less than transparent, and there may or may not be plans to support
roaming profies, without which settings and user document folders are
stuck on each machine the account was created on, making it very
difficult to support without mass confusion.
I run a college network. If we are to have a chance to make people
interested in an alternative to Windows, all those functions must be
transparent to users (as it is with the Windows client and ZEN) --
they authenticate to the directory, their local account is created,
they get their network resources, and their roaming profile settings
and locations are as expected. They logout, their info is safe on the
network, their account is deleted. They go to the next class in a
different lab and repeat. This happens thousands of times per day in
30 different labs with students of wildly different capabilities and
    expectations. But it just works.
This has been the Novell experience since the beginning (16 years for
us). It is still valid. Anything less than this makes SLED an
unworkable alternative. I'm looking for a way to make it workable. By
summer we'll have 1200 XP/SLED dual boot machines in labs and offices.
To make SLED a viable alternative we need those other features.
Otherwise, it's just a toy for the curious. Unfortunate.
So, here are my end of year questions:
Which of these fundamental functions are working with which others?
Which ones are in the SP beta plans?
Which ones are not being planned?
What is the process for helping the planners understand the needs of
    the users out here?
    Thanks.
    Lyle

    Mark,
Thanks for the comments. I actually don't care if it doesn't implement
the same way as Windows. I agree, that is not a good model. Copying
the profile is dumb. If the plan is to simply mount the home, that's
    by far the best way.
I suspect that what we are working with is a terminology problem. If,
we define "roaming profile" to mean that the user sees what they
expect to see regardless of what machine they login to, that is all
that matters. The need to copy the profile on Windows causes all kinds
of problems and is a poor solution.
So, let me re-state what I feel our needs are: 1) the user, not having
a local account, authenticates to the linux workstation using eDir, 2)
gets all the network resources per network scripts and policies, 3)
their home "profile" looks like it should, with all settings in tact,
    4) they logout and no residue is left on the workstation.
However that is accomplished, I don't care and I'm not wedded to any
Windows terminology or processes. Hope this helps.

  • OneDrive Sync Settings with Domain Account Roaming Profile

This question seems to have been asked in various manners online including here at TechNet but it has never actually been answered that I can find.
Home domain using Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, client is Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with Update 1. Logged in as a domain user account with a Roaming Profile and Folder Redirection connected to a Microsoft Account.
Under PC Settings > OneDrive > Sync Settings, everything is greyed out and disabled. I wasn't too bothered about it previously however with Windows Phone 8.1 out now it means that I cannot use Tab Sync with Internet Explorer 11 on the phone.
I have a GPO which excludes the following folders from the Roaming Profile to both allow Folder Redirection to function and also to allow the OneDrive app to function: "Downloads;Pictures; My Pictures;Music; My Music;Videos; My Videos;Dropbox;SkyDrive;OneDrive"
I am using the Primary Computer attribute with a second GPO which limits profile redirection to the users primary computer.
When logging on to my Primary Computer with the Roaming Profile activated, all of the Sync Settings are disabled but on another machine which is non-primary and therefore my roaming profile does not sync, I can connect my Microsoft Account to the local
profile generated on this machine and all of the Sync Settings are available, clearly linked to the Roaming element of the profile.
Is the non-functionality of Sync Settings on domain accounts with Roaming Profiles by design or by virtue of the fact that things are trying to steer away from Roaming Profiles now? I love the Sync features but in that they don't sync everything (3rd party
Application Settings for example) there is a need for both features to exist in parallel.
There is a new section in Group Policy to limit the use of the Sync Settings features for Enterprises which wish to prevent users from using these features so I don't understand the reason for it to not function at all for anyone.

  • Microsoft Word 2010 Hiding/Removing the Navigation Pane for Roaming Profiles

    Hello all,
I am attempting to do what the title says.  We are using Citrix Profile Manager...basically roaming profiles and when updating the Office version to 2010,  users are displayed the Navigation Pane.  If the NavPane is closed,
when they reopen their Citrix session it is back to default displaying the NavPane.  Any help on getting this removed would be greatly appreciated.
I have so far attempted to create a macro Normal.dotm and works partially, however it is not consistent as each time it appears that the modified Normal.dotm becomes overwritten with a default one.  I have also added this modified Normal.dotm to the
Default user profile locally on the server...to which it does not seem to pull.
    Update:
I am currently looking to see on how to redirect the Normal.dotm away from %appdata%\microsoft\templates to a central location and have this applied to all users either user GPO or a per machine setup....but can't find anything specifically for Word 2010
configuration.  Any help on this would also be beneficial.

Regarding the Navigation Pane.  The setting for displaying it is indeed in the Windows Registry but it is part of a binary data key and thus mere mortals like us are not able to change it. You need a macro... see this link for an example.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/bb6268ac-546b-4118-87fa-21f6fd2cecbc/word-navigation-pane-open-by-default
Regarding changing the location of Word's Normal template via GPO it can be done. See below link. However, as is pointed out in the link, the recommendation is not to do so. If the central location server is down, no one will be able to create documents.
In addition, if someone accidentally or purposely alters/corrupts the Normal template... everyone is effected.

  • 2012 R2 RDS - Your roaming profile was not completely synchronized - Event ID 1509 1504 - After installing Update 1

In my deployment I have 2 brokers, and 3 session hosts. I finally installed Update 1 and all following updates available (the ones that were available about two weeks before). Also updated Forefront to v4.3 (SCCM managed).
I have roaming TS profiles enabled with folder redirection and also policy set to "delete local copy of roaming profiles" after logout. Profile folders are on a network share (Server 2003). Things were working ok until Update 1 and rest of updates
    got installed.
I started getting events 1509 and 1504 when users logoff and the screen displays "Your roaming profile was not completely synchronized" message briefly. The only file affected so far is ntuser.pol.
There are two variations of the event, one claiming it cannot write the local server copy to fileshare, and the opposite, from file share to c:\users\username.
    ====
Windows cannot copy file \\server\profileshare\username.V2\ntuser.pol to location C:\Users\username\ntuser.pol. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.
     DETAIL - Access is denied.
    =====
Windows cannot copy file C:\Users\username\ntuser.pol to location \\server\profileshare\username.V2\ntuser.pol. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.
DETAIL - Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
    ==========
Permissions have not changed. The only thing changing is the Updates installed on the servers. I tried running with AV realtime protection off, no change. Ntuser.pol is already on the exclude list in Forefront.
This is happening on my test server and 2 prd servers. Any ideas. I looked for related hotfixes but not coming up with anything.
The whole reason for installing Update 1 was so that we can continue to receive security updates...

    Hi,
    Thanks for your comment.
When a roaming profile user logs off, the NTuser.dat file is always updated on the roaming profile share. The corresponding NTuser.pol file is only updated if the timestamp of the local copy that was created at logon is newer than the copy found in the roaming
profile share. A synchronization problem may occur if a user with a roaming profile logs on to multiple client computers at the same time. This can eventually cause policy settings to be applied incorrectly.
For example, if the Group Policy loopback feature is applied on one of the client computers, the NTuser.dat file on the roaming profile share may contain loopback policy settings that are not present in the NTuser.pol file. If this problem occurs, the loopback
policy settings that are targeted at one client computer may be unexpectedly applied to a user who logs on to a different client computer.
So please check the permission or group policy which you have applied and also whether you are performing multiple connection at a time.
Note: This KBhere providing only for reference as it’s for previous version.
    Hope it helps!

  • Changing backup location to prevent bloated roaming profile

In Windows 7 and Vista, iTunes backs up the iPhone to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup which is part of the roaming profile. This bloats the roaming profile from around 100MB to over 2.5GB, making it very slow to log on and log off the PC, as the roaming profile is synchronised each time over the network with the copy on the server. How can I make iTunes use a location that is stored locally only, for example somewhere within C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Apple Computer? This problem also occurs on Windows XP, just with different file locations.

While it doesn't seem possible to change the location used by iTunes for the backup it may be feasible to redirect the data to another folder using a junction. Install NTFS Link. Move the folder *<Profiles>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup* to another location, then create an empty folder called Backup in *<Profiles>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync* and use NTFS Link to create the junction.
I've tested it out just now moving my backup folder into C:\iTunes\Backup and iTunes behaved normally during a sync of my iPhone, I'm just moving the folder to an external drive to prove it still works properly when the link is to a different drive but the move is going to take an hour! Lots & lots of tiny files... What is not so clear is how the roaming profile behaves when it meets the junction. If it backs up the link rather than following it through to the data at the other end then you should get the behaviour you are after. Test it and see.

  • Roaming profiles does't work with ZCM 10.3.3

    Hi,
We have Zenworks Configuration management 10.3.3. Fully patched. We have also latest zenworks agents 10.3.3.44426.
Our roaming profiles does not work any more after we patched zenworks agents.
Now our existing Roaming Profiles do not update any more. No matter where profiles are stored (linux, netware or windows).
We have DLU Policy and Roaming Profile Policy. If I delete the user account and its
profile on the client, the account will be recreated by DLU-Policy and
the Roaming Profile gets copied to the server once. After that no changes will be synced.
It looks it has something with Novell client. If you don't have Novell Client on workstation, everything works fine.
I try also simulate this problem in test environment. Same problems.
I am now asking Novell. How it is possible that patch for this is not available ? It looks users has this problems more than half year.
Are we the only one on this world who are using roaming profiles with Zenworks ?
    Any ideas ?
    Roman

I knew, I am the only one on this world who are using roaming profiles with Novell client.
But that is only one of a tousands bugs with Novell Zenworks.
And novell support ? They need at least two weeks or more to setup one zenworks server and one XP workstation with novell client and test this.
They are now somewhere in the middle of installing windows XP workstation.

  • Roaming profile from 32BIT to 64BIT

    Hi,
    I've 2 terminal servers one s windows 2003 32BIT an another windows 2003 64BIT(just install).
I'm using roaming profile for the TS.
I'm having trouble to print from the 64BIT machine when the user use the roaming profile that came from the 32BIT.
when they try to print the print spooler crash.
when i remove the same user his roaming profile and connect him to the n 64BIT without his profile (a new one is created).
    every thing work great.
I'm thinking maybe it is relate that the acrobat reader on 64BIt install it self on the Program file(x86) an not Program file like in 32BIt.
do you know about this problem and how i can fix that?(i use reader 8 on 32BIT and 8 and then 9 on 64BIT)

Install the 9.2 64-bit media and use an export/import to upgrade the database to 64bit. To do this (after you install the 9.2 64-bit media):
1.) Run a full export of your 8.1.7 database
    2.) Create a new 9.2 database
3.) Create tablespaces in the 9.2 database with the same names and sizes as your 8.1.7 database. (Take advantage of automatic segment space management and locally managed tablespace if you didn't 8.1.7) Also, use an automatic undo tablespace as well.
4.) Run a full import into the new 9.2 database with ignore=y
5.) Run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp to recompile any invalid objects and verify everything is OK in the new 9.2 database.
6.) Finally update your clients to point to the new 9.2 database.
