  • ILife 08- problem with Podcast and Blog links on landing page

Hello I have iLife 08, running OS 10.4.11. The Podcast and Blog links on my iWeb landing page appear but don't do anything. All was working fine one week ago. They load, and when you mouse over it the links looks like they are going to work but don't.
Any ideas on what the problem is?
thanks in advance for your time,
    -g-

    Hi Chad,
Yes. I had a similar problem. The 1st click on an iTunes hyperlink (i.e. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=97154883 ) occasionally does nothing for me in Safari. And as you described, the 2nd click usually works. I actually didn't notice the Safari window containing the link closing itself. I'll keep an eye out for that.
I'm running iTunes 6.0.2 with 2.0.3. See if running an update changes anything for you.

  • Broken Blog Link

Hello! I have been reading quite a bit of discussions and they have sure helped me understand building my first web site. Now, as stated in the Subject line, I have a broken blog link in my finished site and I need some advice on how to fix it.
You can test my site: seeyouatbonnaroo.com and see what I mean.
Thanking all in advance for your time and help. Robert
iMac Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Robert, I can see that you have a problem with the RSVe-mail, Why and VIP pages. The Blog link works with the other pages of the site. Make a small change to those three pages and then Publish them again. The change can be something as simple as adding a space after a period.
Also, make sure that in the inspector palette you have a check-mark placed beside the line that says Include page in navigation menu.
    Cheers!

  • V1, V2, V3 Update: 2 questions: Getting clarification on Roberto's Blog

    Hi,
In a blog by Roberto, /people/sap.user72/blog/2004/12/16/logistic-cockpit-delta-mechanism--episode-one-v3-update-the-145serializer146, I have 2 questions on two QUOTES from this article:
    1. On quote A:
Now, from point #3, it states that if successfully processed by V2; So if it has successfully been processed by V2, why would you then want to process it again with V3?
Or, is it suggesting that V2 updates the tables in R3 automatically, but stays in those tables utill V3 is scheduled in LBWE?
    2. On quote B:
Also, in LBWE, I found the options Direct Delta, Queued Delta, Unserialized V3 update. From the article, there was no mention of Direct Delta, Queued Delta. When are they used instead of the V3?
Can you help me understand what Quote B was all about? I got lost.
Can you help me follow how the delivery status example in this quote is implemented regarding the ODS?
(LBWE talks about Unserialized but Roberto spoke about Serialized was that  a mistake?)
    QUOTE A
"Normally in R/3 there are three types of update available:
    1.Synchronous update (V1 update)
Statistics update is carried out at the same time (synchronous) as the document update (in the application tables).
    2. Asynchronous update (V2 update)
Document update and the statistics update take place in different tasks.
So, V1 and V2 updates donu2019t require any scheduling activity.
    3. Collective update (V3 update)
As for the previous point (V2), document update is managed in a separate moment from the statistics update one, but, unlike the V2 update, the V3 collective update must be scheduled as a job (via LBWE).
Remember that the V3 update only processes the update data that is successfully processed with the V2 update. "
    Quote B
"..But since updating in ODS objects is permitted in the logistics extraction for almost all DataSources, we have to consider any effects that can derive from the u2018overwriteu2019 update mode (specific of the ODS object).
For example, the consistent storage of a status field (e.g. delivery status) in ODS objects can only be ensured only with a right (serialized) delta sequence: if the record with u2018open deliveryu2019 status (created as first record in R/3) arrives later than the record with u2018closed deliveryu2019 one (created as second one in R/3), we would have a false representation of the reality.
Since the normal existing update methods actually does not recognize the serialized processing of update data, the Serialized V3 Update function was created (also thanks to subsequent several corrections in SAP Basis) in order to be able to serialize step A..."

    Hi Amanda,
Would appreciate if you could update the article link in the thread as this will help others.

  • Opening MySite blog links gives 404 on first try

    Hi,
When SharePoint search returns search results containing links to blog articles, the first time user tries to enter the link results in "404 NOT FOUND" error. When trying the link again (by going back with browser back button and clicking again
on the same link) it works.
Firstly, when doing a search, SharePoint search returns links to blog posts in this format: http://mysite/personal/jam/Blog/Lists/Viestit/ViewPost.aspx?ID=3
After clicking on the search result, user is redirected to non-existing URL, and user gets blank screen with "404 NOT FOUND" error: http://mysite/personal/jam/Blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=f7f62f92%2Dfb73%2D4c24%2Da933%2Dee7608a825a3&ID=3&Web=6120a040%2D9d26%2D4c09%2D8b5e%2Dc3a11566b827
Then when going back, and clicking again on search result link, user is redirected to correct URL: http://mysite/personal/jam/Blog/Lists/Viestit/Post.aspx?List=f7f62f92%2Dfb73%2D4c24%2Da933%2Dee7608a825a3&ID=3&Web=6120a040%2D9d26%2D4c09%2D8b5e%2Dc3a11566b827
If you look at the link closely, you see that "Posts" has been replaced with "Viestit", as MySite/Blog language is Finnish, not English.
After this, link to blog posts by that user work fine UNTIL IISRESET is run, after that it again requires one-time 404 error page until users get to the blog page.
In ULS log, I see SharePoint doing various URI mapping, but they don't make much sense as it's mapping MySite URI to intranet site URI, and then finally mapping it to the incorrect URI with incorrect list URL "Posts".
Why does SharePoint resolve links to incorrect URLs and how to make it working also on first blog page access? Using August 2013 CU.

    Hi Jussi,
Based  on your description, this issue might be caused by Query Language.
Query Language is not the language of the Browser interface, but the language submitted to web sites. By default, the
property of search results is null, the locale will be inferred from the browser language.
So , for  resolving your issue, please make sure that the search results  has a same language with the web sites.
Here  is an article for your reference :
    http://blog.orbitone.com/post/Language-sensitive-search-results-in-SharePoint
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • IWeb '08 blog links

    Hi,
I've made a iWeb blog and I am noticing my links acting funny and I have found no way to control them. If you go here: http://www.jenniferfragale.com/jf/photo_blog/Archive.html you can see that the names of the entries are light gray. When you simply scroll over them, they become dark gray. I want to be able to keep the link- including those directly to the comments- light grey until clicked upon. How can I set this up? This same problem occurs in the main blog page. Even 'READ MORE' changes color when scrolled over.
Any answers or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue for me with iLife 09.
After 3 blog entries, the 4th one will not show up in Safari 3.2.1, but is there in Firefox 3.0.7! Very weird. I tried re doing the page but same result.
Please help! I've run out of ideas. My ulr is www.lifeclarityforums.com.au

  • Blog link is not working

Dear Friends, I try to describe what is my challenge.
    Made a blog in iWeb:
    http://web.mac.com/gyorgy.szimuly/SzimiStylesBirding_Experience/Blog_EN/BlogEN.html
The link of the first entry of the blog (American Wigeon - The 2003th Lifer) in the text box is not working when rolling over the mouse. Looks the reflection of the image overlaps the part of the text box disabling the link click-ability Only the last letter which is out of the reflection range is clickable. Anyhow I try to arrange the picture frame backwards I cannot achieve the desired result.
    Any idea why this happens?
Interestingly it is working on the Hungarian page of the same content. :?
    BR: Szimi

    Any idea why this happens?
Because the link is in body layer and this image: http://web.mac.com/gyorgy.szimuly/SzimiStylesBirding_Experience/Blog_EN/Blog_EN_files/shapeimage1.jpg is in the header layer, which makes the reflection also in header layer.
The link does not work because of z-index: http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/zindex.html
    The body layer has z-index = 5 and header layer has z-index = 10.
Interestingly it is working on the Hungarian page of the same content. :?
The image in Hungarian page is in body layer.
So you need to move the image in English page to body layer - drag while hold down command key,.

  • Logistic Cockpit

In Logistic Cockpit, I know that we would need to schedule the various jobs so that it will move all the delta into RSA7. i.e. of the following 2LIS DataSource:
    2LIS_11_VASCL
    2LIS_12_VCITM
    2LIS_13_VDITM
    Questions:
    1) How do we know what is the job name of each 2LIS DataSource?
    2) When new document has been posted/existing trasaction is changed and saved, where exactly this delta is stored in the system/table? This delta will then be picked and transferred into RSA7 right?
    3) I see there is Update Mode in LBWE, we have 3 options: Direct Delta, Queue Delta and Unserialised V3 Update. What is different of this? Which one we should use? Does it has any impact to the Job that we schedule for the 2LIS Datasouce?
I know that this is very complicated and difficult but appreciate your help!
Please advice, thank you in advance.

  • Links in blog archive not working

Can anybody help me get more reliable performance from my iWeb archives page?
    http://web.mac.com/truthmaker/Site/Blog/Archive.html
I am getting very frustrated with the Archives page for the blog I've created with iWeb. Often -- very, very often, the links on the Archives page for past posts are corrupted -- not by me, but somehow by the software. When these links are clicked, instead of showing the proper link and taking viewers there, the link looks like: http://web.mac.com/truthmaker/Site/Blog/$link$. This of course results in one of two different types of "Page not Found" pages.
    One looks like this:
    Not Found
    http://web.mac.com/truthmaker/Site/Blog/$link$
The requested URL was not found on this server.
    お探しのURLはこのサーバーでは見つかりませんでした。
L'URL que vous avez sollicitée n'a pas été trouvée sur ce serveur.
Die URL, die Sie angefordert haben, wurde nicht auf diesem Server gefunden.
The other is a more professional-looking page that says "We're sorry, but we can't find the iWeb page you requested. . . "
This is maddening to the point of being infuriating. These links are not always corrupted, but it seems to happen randomly and frequently. This has nothing to do with my links, which are all fine when published. It appears that this is an issue with MobileMe.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? My blog is extensive (more than 100 posts over eight months) and I have lots of people accessing it. The blog serves both personal and professional purposes and I cannot afford or tolerate such spotty performance. Though I love Apple products, this alone is enough to make me cancel my MobileMe subscription and look into web-hosting from a different vendor.
Can anybody help me get more reliable performance from my iWeb archives page?

    TruthMaker wrote:
    it seems to happen randomly
Did you wait long enough for the 'archive' page to fully load before you clicked on a link ?
If not, then you may have clicked on an incompletely loaded url, resulting in the "not found" MobileMe page. (yes, indeed it's about fractions of a second, that is why it seems to happen randomly)
If this happened in Safari, clear the cache and wait for the page to fully load. Does that help ?
Ps : I can navigate from your archive to the corresponding entry ( tried 4 random links)
For other browsers, if you wait long enough for the page to fully load and then do a "reload page" and again wait long enough ... does that help ?
When you hoover over the links and do get a $links$ move over to the next one, go back... now do you see the correct link ? Not always, but most of the time it's a blog entry with a very long filename.

  • Published links in blog not working!!!

I need some help. We have a family website and we use the blog to share with our family who lives far away (we are military). Previously, all the links on the main blog page worked fine, and everyone was able to view the postings and the videos. Now, when I click on one of the entry titles, it brings me to a 'we're sorry' page and says that my page doesn't exist. All the links work fine locally in iweb, just not on the real web. I don't know what I did to make this stop working. I'm very frustrated also since I don't know how to see and edit code in iweb. I used dreamweaver some years ago and was used to always seeing the code. Our site is http://web.mac.com/katekehler. Help, anyone???

I am having the same problem with blog links. The URL that gets presented ends with $link$ and I am not sure from where this is coming. The links work fine in the RSS feed and they update fine but they are broken if I try them from the blog page.
    It just started last night.

  • Linking To Blog

Hi, i publish my site to a folder then upload it, i want to publish my blogger blog page to my site instead of blogger, then i want the blog link at the top of the site created with iweb to link to my blog page in the blog folder of my webspace, so basically instead of the blog link taking you to an iweb created blog, it goes to the blog page of my choice, any ideas peeps?
