ROBO call blocker is blocking my wake up calls

I've had wake up calls for 3 years using my FIOS landline voice mail. I also  Implemented robocall blocker about a year ago.
Within the past week, the blocker is now stopping the wake up calls.
Verizon, how do I get around this?  I've added the voicemail number that calls with the wake up call to my accepted list,
still no resolution.

dezyndiva wrote:
that's part of the problem.  I don't recall now how I set it up.  However, It's illogical that I would have to turn it off
just to get wake up calls.  Why now is the blocker recognizing the wake up call as coming from a robodialer,
it never blocked it for the past year.
With FiOS digital voice, there is no native "ROBO call blocker" so you must be using something else.  If you're using something like nomorobo then it uses the simulatenous ring feature which can be disabled if nomorobo (or some other service like it) is blocking the call.  You check your simulataneous ring setup.

  • Robo-call from NI

I just got a robo-call from NI because I registered for the upcoming NI Day conference.
That was a mistake.  I would have thought NI's marketing department was smarter than that.
I will now make sure to give a fake phone number in all my NI profiles.
I don't mind getting relevant phone calls from NI.  But put a person on the phone.  Not a machine!

That happens to me all the time when I'm trying to help people prepare for the CLAD.  I am a CLA.  I don't think I need to sign up for the CLAD.
I actually put in a complaint to some people while I was at the CLA Summit back in March.  I was basically told that NI has several databases and they don't talk to each other.  So if you do anything on their site, your data gets put into a database and automatic emails are sent regardless.  NI really needs to do some research in getting these databases talking to each other.  That would reduce a large percentage of the emails I get from NI.

  • Are you tired of all the robo calls to your phone?  If enough Verizon Wireless users start bugging Verizon to add "simultaneous ring" as a calling feature, we will be able to use "Nomorobo" to block unwanted robo calls.  Start calling and bugging Verizon

Google Nomorobo and read up on this free service that stops robo callers.

I have read about Nomorobo.  I have a Verizon "land line" which actually works with a router and operates like a cell phone.  YES I WANT NOMOROBO

  • Is verizon making money off of robo calls??

I have been getting a ton of robocalls. I asked Verizon what they are doing about it and they said nothing. I can only block 5 numbers unless I purchase a special package from them allowing me to block more. What a joke! At some point, verizon has figured out how to make money off of robocalls. I just got a call from phone number 000-000-0000!  How can they even allow that to even go through? Oh, that's right. Almost $9 billion in PROFITS last year, and a CEO who made $7.3 million last year. What do they care? If you ever think lack of competition is a good thing, think again.  (PS, I have been waiting for 40 minutes to talk with someone and ask how they can allow a number with all zeros to go through. Oh, that's right, $9 billion in profits.)

VZW does not have an idea where the 000-000-0000 is from, so how can they block it.
Do you have your number on the Do Not Call List?
Have you opted out of the three or four Settings in your Verizon account Privacy Settings?

  • Scam Another Robo-call claiming to be VZW

Be careful people Phone calls have been going out from a scammer claiming that if you log onto www.my45verizon.com you can get a 45.00 credit on your bill, THIS IS A SCAM A ATTEMPT TO GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR VZW INFORMATION.................... BEWARE ... numbers showing in Caller ID 800-922-0204 be wary of anyone asking for your VZW information online and in emails VZW will never ask you for information like this as they ALREADY HAVE IT...... So if VZW wanted to give you a credit, gift, discount or anything like that they would more then likely do so in the REAL VZW CUSTOMER PORTAL........

"We" are not going to stop it, and as long as people fall for it, scammers will continue to try it.  All "we" can do is not respond, not get scammed ourselves, and warn others.
It's not just Verizon that's targeted, either.  Go to http://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/  and search for any of the cell carriers - or just about any company.  Scammers keep at it because it works often enough to make it worth their while to continue.

  • Blocking unwanted calls, help please?

We get hundreds of unwanted calls per week, sometimes at 5 am and others at 2am, very annoying. We have our number on the Gov Do Not Call List, have used up our measly 25 blocked calls spots, and set up Nomorobo. Oh, and had to do Comcast's own blocking because even they called me at 6am! Why does the phone STILL have to ring 2 times for it to be "screened" or blocked? It defeats the purpose of all that work by getting woken up in the middle of the night just to listen to it ring twice and then tryng to go back to sleep knowing it wasn't an important emergency "real" call. Not only does this make no sense to me, the actual "2 ring" rule sometimes turns into 3 rings before it's kicked over to nomorobo. Who thought this was a good solution and does anyone else have a better way to stop these annoying calls? Thank you in advance for your help. This can't possibly be how it's supposed to work and everyone else is satisfied with the two ring thing? Help me find a solution, please.

You wouldn't happen to live the the Gurnee area would you?  I've been getting the same thing with the exception of the time of the calls, I'm LesThompson1 and I've just added a post "Not robo calls". I actually threaten to call the police on one of the numbers calling, and they finally called me and informed me that it's Comcast server that's the issue, and you are not getting calls from wierdos in the middle of the night....chances are some of the numbers you're seeing are probably people in the surrounding neighborhood and it's more than likely happening to them too.  I'd ask, and then get your compensation from Comcast, because I sure did.

  • Repeated Blocked calls every five minutes

This began last night just after midnight - a call from a blocked number which I did not answer. Seconds after, another which I answered and to which there was no response. I ignored the rest - seven total. It happened again this afternoon with a total of nine calls. Telemarketer Robo calls gone awry?

        Hello Rainynckl
That would be very frustrating. Are they still coming in? You can add a feature to block unknown calls. Learn about it here: https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/safeguards/safeguardLandingPage.action Our we can change your mobile number for free to end this harassment.

  • How do I hide my name for phone calls

How can i set my bb classic so that only my number shows up for incoming calls (my name hidden to the caller) and for outgoing calls (my name hidden to the person I'm calling)?

Basically you can't do what you want. You can go to settings and check to 'not show phone number' when making a call. The Caller ID is handled by your carrier, you certainly can try but I don't think you'll be successful in having them remove your name. You might able to get them to change it for example to your company name. There are lots of people making calls with VOIP phones doing robo calls to sell you stuff that have solftware that allows them to play games with their caller ID but that's outside your scope. Lastly, lots of people don't answer calls when you block your number (it shows up  Caller ID Blocked)  but you can decide on that..

  • Help: repeated calls from area code 266

I am getting repeated calls at all hours from area code 266 and different numbers. When i answer i get mostly silence or some voice i can not understand. When I call back I am told the number does not exist. When I use google to trace the number (e.g.266 950 6008 or 266-949-1883 I am told there is not such number.
What can I do to stop this?
Verizon has told me that I may have to get a new number. Is there anything else I can try before this?
    Michjel

You can block up to 5 numbers for free for 90 days via your on-line MyVerizon account.  You can block more if you pay $4.99 per month for the Usage Controls.  There's other threads on this forum that also talk about apps and other avenues (like You Mail) that you can use.
I had several of those calls and blocked them.  After a week or two the caller would change their number (at least that's what I'm thinking they were doing), so I'd go in and block them again.  After doing this a few times, the calls stopped.  I think they were robo calls; even though you can be on all the do-not-call lists, you can still get those calls.
I always ignore calls if I don't know who it is and let them go to voice mail.  If your phone allows you to send contacts to voice mail, you could put the numbers in your phone and send them straight to voice mail.
I've had my number too long; I'll be danged if some marketer or prankster is gonna force me to change my number; I'd view that as a last resort, but that's just my opinion.

  • WRT610N - Wake Up Lan

I have a question about the WRT610N router.
Is there an way to make wake on lan go trough my router because now he is blocking the wake on lan.
I have added my computer to DMZ.
I have assigned my computer a IP address
Wake on Lan is working local by the way
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

WOL (wake on lan ) will not work on DMZ.
You need to forward the  port number on the Linksys router for the application which you are using for WOL. It should be port number 7 or else you can contact the application vendor to get the port number. Then Login to the router setup page with the ip 192.168.1.1.. (assuming that the ip address of your linksys router is 192.168.1.1).Also give the static ip to the computer.
Under Setup tab there is sub tab Basic Setup. On that page there is a button called "DHCP Reservation". Before you click it, make sure the radio button with the label "Enabled" (DHCP Server) is ticked. Click on the button "DHCP Reservation"and fill out the form in the pop-up. Fill out "Manually Adding Client" (name, IP and MAC address). Click "add". Choose "Save settings" at the bottom of the page.
Now go  to the "Application & Gaming" tab. The page opens on "Single Port Forwarding". Type the external port number 7 to internal port no 7(assuming that the port  number for the WOL application is number 7) for both TCP and UDP to the IP of your machine. Tick the box "enable". Choose "Save settings" again.
Note: Before trying these steps make sure you can use WOL without connecting the linksys router.
    This should resolve the problem.

  • Why does Verizon call me from unrecognized CA number - 949-286-3973?

It appears that you (Verizon) are calling my cell phone from an unidentified California number - 949-286-3973. From a brief search on the Internet, this seems to be what you are doing. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!!! I understand it to be a survey about customer service but I do not answer scam calls (any number I don't recognize is a scam caller to me, especially a robo call that does not leave a message). This is the same complaint you know you have heard repeatedly from a lot of your customers but you have determined that you don't care and just keep on doing it. Every time it happens, we have to take the time to research it and figure it out, total bull and you are ******* customers off. Call them from a recognized number or do not call them at all.
This is just like the problem I called about a few weeks ago where you allow $3 to be charged by your company representatives (Verizon brick and mortar store) to process a CASH payment, how stupid is that? IT'S CASH!!! DAH! Dumbest thing I've ever heard, and yes it is your responsibility regardless or your insistence that they are franchised, you allow them to access your system to process the payments, that is totally on you and to say otherwise is just a lie.
Again, I and most customers consider these type of unrequested unrecognized calls a form of harassment. If you are trying to improve your processes and customer relations, you are going about it in completely the wrong way!

I got a call today from this number - since I use my phone as a business phone and do get calls from clients or potential clients that I do not have in my contact list (yet), I DO answer calls where I do not recognize the number.
I answered it, it was a survey, took about 3 minutes to punch in a few numbers, and then hang up.  They probably won't call again unless I call customer service again, which was what triggered this call today.
You've done the research, take the survey and be done with it.

  • Calls and emails from Verizon

To {edited for privacy}, head of customer service in Tampa office
This isn’t about phishing per se, but I cannot seem to find an e-mail for customer service at Verizon…only “chat”.
I received a robo-call & VM last evening ON MY CELL PHONE from {edited for privacy}from “Jane” at “Verizon”. She reminded me that I must return my equipment or face additional charges on my next billing statement.
I received my return box on 7/23/15, and mailed it back to Verizon on 7/24/15 at 1:06 p.m. I will add that the box was mailed to me from you on 7/20/15.
I keep on getting e-mails from Verizon that will not allow me to respond via “reply”, so I called, and spoke with a CSR named Frankie yesterday (7/28/15). She tells me that Verizon has 30 days to check in returned equipment. Why all of the e-mails then? You want me to “return all equipment promptly”, or face $650.00 in additional charges, but you have 30 days to check my prompt mailing in?
    Let me get back to the robo-call…{edited for privacy} is the phone number to a place called OnProcess Technology…they act as your/Verizon’s “repo-men” for equipment. I do not have to guess where they got my cell phone number from, {edited for privacy}
It may not be a serious issue to you, {edited for privacy} but it is serious to me. When a huge corporation like Verizon feels free to bully a customer to return equipment that is property of Verizon, and that customer has complied to the request, then be done with it. Your own CSR tells me YOU have 30 days to check it in, well, stop calling me on a number that I have repeatedly told you all NOT to use, and stop e-mailing me.
    I hope that I do not have to take this to the next level, {edited for privacy}
If I receive one more call on my cell, that will determine my next action.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • Who can I call to talk to a human?

It is incredibly difficult to speak to a human being. The phone robot only gives you a few options none of which is to speak to an agent, then hangs up on you. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING111

Customer service is very poor.  If you wish to speak to a human, you have to wait on hold for a very long time.  Many of the menu options are dead ends and end your call.
Verizon does not make it easy to find a customer service number.  Its not easily viewed.  It should be on the main page, but you have to click on a ton of links just to find a number!  When you do find it, you are sent in robo call hell.  Clicking options and getting no where.
I like my verizon phone, but the customer service stinks.  PEEWWWW!

  • HT4203 I am going out of the country and do not want calls.  How do Prevent any?

How do I turn the phone off in another country so I don't get any robo calls or voice messages at high international rate.?

No, No, No. You will not get charged unless you turn the phone on and check the messages in the foreign country. If you have airplane mode on the whole time you are overseas then how would the phone company know you are overseas. The phone has to handshake with the cell tower to know where it is. Your last sentence explained it all. As soon as you turn it on and check those messages, yes you will be charged international rates because you are using international cell towers.

  • Phone call with your own phone number

Today I receive a phone call with my Home Phone on the Caller ID.  My Phone Number is supposed to be unlisted.

It is likely a scam or robo call who often mask their own numbers by using legitimate numbers.
