Robocall Blocking is incompatib​le with FIOS Freedom Essentials

I receive a half-dozen robocalls each day, so I decided to sign up for NOMOROBO's robocall blocking service. However, I was unable to complete my registration because the Simultaneous Ring feature apparently is unavailable with FIOS Freedom Essentials. It is available with FIOS Digital Voice, but FIOS Digital Voice is not available in my neighborhood.
It is very frustrating to know that there is technology out there which would allow me to block robocalls, but Verizon cannot provide me with the feature which is needed to utilize that technology.
Is there any reason why Verizon cannot add the Simultaneous Ring to FIOS Freedom Essentials?

You are asking great questions that only Verizon can answer; and until now they choose not to.  My bills are so high because each separate dedicated "copper" line needs to have it's own separate phone plan.  I confirmed this again through multiple calls last night.  Over and over again, I am told that if I have "copper" lines then it is not running through my FIOS box and if there is a power outage it will have no effect on the line, which I have now learned is not true.
 What amazes me even more is that last night I even spoke to the "technical" team at Verizon and they can only use words like "that's weird" and that "it shouldn't be that way" etc.  If you listen to the recordings it's quite upsetting.
Last week I was sold a "copper" phone line at more than double the price of digital phone service...Apparently there is no technical difference in what product I received.  This doesn't seem like the kind of product the phone company should be peddling given that it is the same thing at over twice the price.  It is misleading and in many ways is a bait and switch tactic.
The reality is that if you think you have a "copper" phone line with FIOS what you probably have is a "copper phone plan" which is insulting to learn.  I am finding on the internet now of other people who are having this issue and it is a serious violation of many sections of the Consumer Fraud Act and other statutes.
I have been fiercely loyal to Verizon (In addition to my home, we use it at my place of business) and it bothers me that they feel it is OK to mislead people in this fashion.

    For months now, I have been reading the numerous problems Fios internet customers are having with Fios internet/Actiontech Router and Windows Vista and there has been no acknowledgement by Verizon of this current major issue.
    I have also experienced the exact same issue for months now since I switched to Verizon FIOS internet. Previously I had Comcast HSI using my Windows Vista laptop.  I had their service for over a year and I NEVER has a problem with the Windows Vista globe icon disappearing and loosing internet connection. The Globe always stayed on and never went away and I never lost connection when I had Comcast
    I had Verizon FIOS installed last September with my Windows Vista computer and my wireless internet connection started to drop from day 1 and it has been a daily occurrence for over 5 months now.  It has gotten so bad, I have had to hardwire my laptop to to be able to use the internet uninterrupted.
    This is what daily scenario is:
    When I turn on my laptop(with Windows Vista, I can initially get full internet access(with the globe on and it says "Local and internet). After about 10 minutes or less, the globe switches to "local only" and I can still get  internet access.  After another 5 or so minutes, a large X covers the globe and I lose internet connection entirely. The actiontech router wireless signal is no longer listed as one of the wireless networks.  The only way for me to regain internet access is either to restart my laptop or reboot the actiontech router.
    Numeorus posts here, over by DSL forums(Broadband Reports),Microsoft's website and a few othere websites detail this issue.
    I am extremely shocked and surprised that Verizon has not tried to fix this issue by working with both the makers of the Actiontech Router as well as Microsoft to find out what the problem is and how to fix it.
    I would just like to reiterate I strongly believe this is primarily a FIOS internet issue since I previously had Comcast HSI for over a year with the same Windows Vista laptop and I NEVER had that problem. Also,  I can connect to my neighbors wireless connection(she uses Comcast HSI) and when I do, the globe stay on all the time on my computer and the internet does not lose connection.
    I know that there are a couple of Verizon employees here. Please tell the higher ups who handle FIOS internet that this is a major issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
    P.S: Please don't tell me to go by my own router because then, I will have to deal with the issues of setting it up to work with Fios TV and the related VOD, widgets, remote DVR compatability issues to deal with. I don't think I can deal with the additional headaches. 

    FIOS is short for fiber optics.  fiber optics is different technology than DSL.   
    With that said, if you search the Microsoft databases for vista issues with fiber optics, (CURRENTLY THERE IS ONLY ONE PROVIDER OF FIBER TO THE HOUSE, that being Verizon, so yes you can also search Vista issues with verizon and\or fios) and you will find that Microsoft already acknowledges this issue with their software.  AND they offer you a fix.

  • How to block on MQ queue with MQControl

    I'm using WL 8.1SP4.
    I'm trying to use the com.bea.control.MQControl class. It seems like there is no way to "block" on a queue with this. It appears that the various "getMessageAs..." methods will just throw a ResourceException if there is no message on the queue. Failing a blocking capability, I have to implement a complicated wait/retry loop so the app doesn't spin waiting for a message.
    Alternatively, if my jpd has a Subscription node for the queue, if I get to that node, does that mean that there is definitely a message on the queue at that point? It would be ok if I could execute the process only when there is a message on the queue, and I could restart it each time.

    I figured out how to do this. The MQMDHeaders instance, which gets passed to the "getMessageAsString()" method, has a "waitInterval" property, which when set to "-1", will wait forever.
    What I'm not sure about, however, is whether it's valid to block for resources inside a JPD.

  • Will I be able to use my Netgear N 3300router and 111accesspoints wireless units with fios service?

    I am having my Fios bundle (tv,internet, phone) installed next week. In reading some posts here I am concerned. Currently I am using Comcast internet router plugged into my main wireless N Netgear model 3300 router that is plugged into my PC. I then have a model 111 Netgear wireless N gaming accesspoint plugged into my main router at PC. It is recieveing wireless N signals from 2 other model 111 gaming Netgear units in my lower home. Plugged into those is my xbox, Ps3, replay tv ect.  The signal is much better and I transmit HD video from my PC to tvs with this wireless N stuff. 
    I have read you must use FiOS supplied amtech router with fios. Its only wireless g and I dont want that. my following is the questions.
    1. Can I not use the Amtech and just use my stuff?
    or
    2. Can I turn of Amtech wireless and plug my Netgear 3300 into the Amtech to use my stuff on wireless N to AMtech and then PC for full pipe.
    or
    3. Could I just use my wireless N gaming access points and plug the upstairs access point into the amtech and not use my Netgear 3300 router and still get my N by way of my access points?
    Netgear uses the same IP range 192.168.1.1
    This is very important for my install. Will the installer be any help with this dilema?

    You will still be able to use your Wireless N Equipment with the Verizon Provided Router.  You will also be able to turn off teh wireless G in the Verizon Router.

     It may be best to allow the installer to set up FIOS without your Equipment in the equation and then reconfigure everything after he is done.  If you plan on using your Netgear as the Primary Router make sure that you have pre-run a CAT5 cable from where the ONT will be mounted to the Netgear Location and ask him to use it for your Data Connection (Will make switching later much easier).

    Hello SAP experts,
    I need your help with finding a way to block invoices for PO with no GR-based IV flag.  At our company, we treat service POs almost the same as material POs (to avoid receipt of service entry).  The only difference from material PO is that service PO does not have the flag for GR.  We customized our EBP to have this done.
    Now, accounting wants to automatically block all invoices associate with service POs.  In this case it would be a PO with no GR.  I tried LIV configuration but it is only for price, quantity and etc.  I also tried blocking with IR before GR but it didn't work because there is no GR.
    Is there a way to achive automatic invoice block in this case?

    Hi Annie,
    if the configuration doesn't help you enough, you would have to add some custom logic after the invoice has been created.
    Technically speaking, I believe there exists a business add-in (BAdI) where you could enter a piece of code which would after the invoice creation check the GR and block it if appropriate. Another implementation option would be a mini-workflow - there you would have a step which checks the GR existence and blocks the invoice.

    There are so many options e.g you can check in oinm select that particular item sort on docdate and check inqty and compare with your goods issue date if it is same then send same transaction to approval if you want.

    Mackeeper is a horrible preoduct. Get rid of it immediately. It's hard to troubleshoot anything else with MacKeeper in the way.

    Can you also clarify what version of the Mac OS you have? "10.0.0" as shown in your profile will not run on a 2008 iMac. Doing "About this Mac" from your Apple menu will show your actual version, as in this example:

  • If you have no electricity for more than 8 hrs you have no phone with Fios

    No one told me that when I gave up my copper line for FIOs that when the electricity goes off for more than eight hours I would have no phone service.  Usually, if the electricity went off I would just plug in one of the old phones with a cord and still have access to telephone service.  Not so with FIOs.  Cell phone service in this area isn't reliable either, especially if there are too many people trying to call out at the same time.  It is not a good product for someone who may need EMS service in a secluded area.  If I had known this, I would have kept my DSL, FIOs is not any faster when others are on line using it.

    Maybe you were not around for the installation of your FIOS when the installer put the battery backup in your garage. Note there is an emergency button on the battery backup that you can push to get an additional 5 hours of phone calls. In my case the welcome kit that I was given also provided directions on how to enable the extra 5 hours of phone support.
    Also I've DSL speeds are typically in the 1-7 Mbit speed while my with a 384/768 upload. My Fios gives me consistent 20 megs down and 5 up which is way faster then DSL.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    Where it says place the iPod in recovery mode use this program vice the iPod's buttons

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    but no Invoices were posted for the month of January and two invoices were posted in Feb.
    the 1st Invoice is cleared and 2nd is blocked for Price.
    please answer these questions.
    1) The system should not have blocked the  2nd Invoice  of Feb as no Invoice was posted for January?
    2)Then if the system is not allowing two invoices in the same month eventhough the earlier month posting is not done.
    the earlier month can be posted only with the Past date is it so?
