RoboHelp 10 For WORD IE10 & IE11 Windows 7 Word 2010 Display Problems

I have applied fixes from Adobe for Blank Topic Panes in IE10 and a blank TOC in IE11. The instructions indicate the fixes should be made in folder RoboHTML which I have done with no solution to the problems. I am wondering if I should apply the Adobe fixes to folder RoboHELP since I am using RoboHelp 10 for Word in a Windows 7 environment. The reason for the question is that the data structure appears to be the same under both folders and the RoboHELP folder does not seem to be present in a RoboHelp 8 installation of HTML without Word.

I have removed your email address and other details as it is never a good idea to post them on any forum. They were part of your email signature.
I understand the question but only Rh's developers can answer that. My guess would be that only Rh HTML was patched but maybe they can now fix it for Rh for Word. Support are the people to ask them that.

  • Robohelp 8 for Word: Problem with the Hotspot Topic

    Hello Everybody:
I'm a beginner user of Robohelp 8 for Word trial version. My project is a WinHelp 2000, imported from a version X3, and I have a problem with Robohelp when I save the value "Topic" of the property "Jump" of the tab what is called "General" at the window "Hotspot Properties". This Hotspot is part of a Shed Image (accesible from Help Image Properties > Shed ...  > Image Workshop > Properties button). After edit the topic, I press the "Aceptar" (OK) button (note that I use a Windows XP SP3 Spanish Version and some buttons are located)  and close the Hotspot Properties window, and I close Image Workshop window too.
If immediately after I open the Image Workshop window and the same hotspot property window edited before, Robohelp lose the new value "Topic" and only it puts one letter. When I make the compilation they are multiple errors like this: HC3025: Warning: ESTA0058_2.SHG :  Jump to undefined Topic ID: "A".
Please, help me. Thank you very much.
P.D.: This image shows the problem:

The licence you bought was for RoboHelp Office which includes both the RoboHelp for Word and RoboHelp HTML applications. Each of these three has it's own installation file so I suspect that they have installed just the RoboHelp HTML application. They should have the details for the RoboHelp for Word application, or better still the RoboHelp Office application which gives you the options of what to install according to your needs.

  • RoboHelp 6 for Word Trial Version

I downloaded and installed the trial version of RoboHelp 6. I
am able to run RoboHelp HTML but can not run RoboHelp for Word.
After I select the desktop icon for RoboHelp for Word, I am
prompted to open one of the sample projects. I select a project and
click OK. I then receive a Windows error stating that the
application must close. Once I click Don't Send Message, RoboHelp 6
    for Word closes.
I am running Windows XP sp 2 and Word 2003. I do not have any
prior versions of RoboHelp installed on this computer. The computer
meets the system requirements for RH 6 installation.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

    Welcome to the forum.
Did you install with your login and does that have admin
rights? If not the install will fail.
There's a topic on my site about installing RoboHelp.

  • Robohelp 9 for Word - Bughunter not functional

I have RH9, Windows 7, Word 2010 and I'm working on an existing winhelp project.
In previous versions of winhelp, I was able to use a tool called Bughunter to see what Map ID's were being called by the application associated with the help. Robohelp 9 for Word includes this tool, but the tool doesn't run, period. When you open the tool you receive 6 or 7 popup message boxes about various things not working and the application never starts.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
Failing that, is there any other way to see what help map ID's are being called from a given application?

Here are the messages I get:
This is the series of messages you see in order when you attempt to execute the Bughunter program.

  • RoboHelp 8 for Word not installed with RoboHelp HTML?

My workplace just upgraded from RoboHelp Office 5x to RoboHelp 8. Come to find out, *all* that was installed was RoboHelp 8 HTML. The RoboHelp 8 for Word part of the application was not installed.
The department responsible for software installations says that they don't have the RoboHelp 8 Word program--that it didn't come with the RoboHelp download. They are insisting that it's not available, and will probably have to be purchased separately.
Has anyone else installed a volume license from a download?
If so, were the HTML and Word portions of the program both available?
Did both parts of the application install (HTML and Word)?
If one installer was used, was the the RoboHelp 8 for Word portion missing? (I.e., is this a bug?) Or did you get the whole thing?
If more than one installer was used, were the components downloaded in separate installation files? (Could someone have missed an installation file, in other words?)
FYI, please, I don't need all the advantages and reasons why I should use HTML Help or WebHelp instead. I work for a government agency, and need to just generate WinHelp to replace an existing Help file, not make everyone change a whole bunch of stuff to use WebHelp or a CHM file.  I need WinHelp output from Word. And, one more thing: I do not have administrator access on my PC either.
Feedback, experiences, and suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance for your help!
    Di

  • RoboHelp 7 for Word versus RoboHelp 7 HTML

RoboHelp 7 for Word versus RoboHelp 7 HTML
Can someone explain very simply when and why you use one but
not the other? I'm a little confused. We have RoboHelp 7 Server
installed and I think using RoboHelp 7 is the way to go, and I know
the server does allow to track usage, frequently viewed, etc. I
guess I just don't understand the purpose of RoboHelp 7 for Word -
what it is used for and it's capabilities when compared to HTML.
I have tons of pages of process documentation created from
Word. I need to make these available online thru RoboHelp, so am
just looking at different ways to distribute and explore all my
options. We're currently experiencing difficulties in publishing
RoboHelp HTML projects to the server.
    Thanks!

    Hi hughbetcha
If your output is going to be HTML based (and if you have
RoboHelp Server, it will be) then I would recommend RoboHelp HTML
    hands down.

  • RoboHelp 6 for Word 2007

    Hello,
I am running Office 2007 and Word 2007. Yesterday I purchased
and installed Robohelp 6 for Word. It doesn't seem to work with
    this version of Word.
What it the latest version of Word that Robohelp 6 is
    compatible with?
Can I uninstall just Word 2007, install the compatible
version, and keep the rest of Office 2007 installed. Or, do I need
    to uninstall Office 2007?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.
That'll be because the Getting Started guide indicates that
    RH6 supports up to Word 2003. :-)
I'll be adding some instructions to my site over the weekend
about having Word 2003 and Word 2007 installed and having RH6 work
    with Word 2003.
In short, you have to uninstall Word 2007 (not the whole of
    Office 2007).
    Uninstall RH6.
    Install Word 2003
Install Word 2007 (this assumes you have licences for both
rather than having bought an upgrade)
Open Word 2003 and then close it.
    Install RH6.
Whenever you want to use RH, if you last used Word 2007 for
something else, you need to run Word 2003.
Each time you switch from one version of Word to the other,
Word will go through a configuration routine that takes a minute or
so. I found a registry change that will stop that and it will be on
my site. For now, live with the configuration.

  • Acrobat pdfmaker com addin for word 2010 crashes when processing large files

I am trying to use the pdfmaker com addin for word 2010 to create a PDF document. Whenever I try and create the document, the acrobat addin crashes word.
I attempted to perform this on both an x86 and x64 machine and it failed both times at around the approximately same point (during/immediately after determining the bookmarks).
The document is large (862 pages, 2425 bookmarks, 311 300dpi graphics, for a total file size of 49.2MiB)
I can generate the PDF by just printing, but the whole point of using the pdfmaker is so that we don't have to perform 2.5K of manual cross-links.

I recently ran into this with a bitmap in a 265 page document. I copied the bitmap to IrfanView and then back (I think that was the step -- I am already forgetting) and the copied it back. The problem went away. My student may look a bit more at the file -- I asked so I could give a more definitive comment here.
The result I had suggests that it is a problem in WORD or the bitmap that WORD was using. Why WORD can deal with it and not Acrobat, I am not sure. However, when printing to the Adobe PDF printer there was not a problem, just with PDF Maker.

  • Table Context Menu for Word 2010

I want to create a context menu for Word 2010. I'm using the code below, that works fine if I'm entering text, but menu doesn't show when entering text inside a table cell.
I tried also the following contextMenu idMso: ContextMenuTable, ContextMenuTableCell, ContextMenuTableCellWhole, and ContextMenuTableCellWholeLinked; but still doesn't work.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
    XML:
    <contextMenus>
    <contextMenu idMso="ContextMenuText">
    <menuSeparator id="CMenuSeparator1" />
    button id="BtnCMenu1" label="Block Text" imageMso="TextToolMenu" visible="true" onAction="StyleBlockText" />
    </contextMenu>
    </contextMenus>
    VBA:
    Sub StyleBlockText(control As IRibbonControl)
    Selection.Style = ActiveDocument.Styles("My Style")
    End Sub

  • Adobe PDF maker add-in for Word 2010 adding strange numbers to headings

    Hi everyone,
I used the Adobe PDF maker add-in for Word 2010 to export a Word document to pdf. After saving the pdf, I noticed that the headings that are displayed in the navigaton pane now contain strange numbers, eg.
    1.1 14BSecond level heading
    1.2 15BSecond level heading
    The above should be:
    1.1 Second level heading
    1.2 Second level heading
It's doing this for all second level headings in the document and when I save as a pdf file, these numbers are showing in the pdf bookmarks.
Does anyone know if this is a known bug with the pdf add-in and if yes, if there's any way to remove the numbers?
    Thanks in advance.

I am experiencing a somewhat similar problem. In my case the unwanted numbers are being prepended to the running headers at the tops of the pages.
So for example, I have some Heading 1 text that says Verifying the Required Account Settings. But in the running header, this shows as 11BVerifying the Required Account Settings.
Unlike the original poster, the 11B does not appear in the text itself - only in the PDF generated by Acrobat's PDF Maker.
This occurs with this document when output from either Word 2007 or Word 2010 and Acrobat X.
    Any suggested fixes?    ...pt

  • Faulty Single Source Layout from RoboHelp X5 for Word

I am running RoboHelp for Word X5.0.1 build 606 and
generating a Single Source Layout that is in Microsoft HTML Help
format. The output for the English version is fine. In the Spanish
version, a list of font names is inserted into pages in the output.
It looks like the pages that are littered with these font names
occur only in those topics that are at the beginning of their
respective Word documents. The text just before
Introducción that follows is an example:
    Arial;Symbol;StarBats;Times;Times New Roman CE;Times New
Roman Cyr;Times New Roman Greek;Times New Roman Tur;Times New Roman
(Hebrew);Times New Roman (Arabic);Times New Roman Baltic;Times New
    Roman (Vietnamese);Arial CE;Arial Cyr;Arial Greek;Arial Tur;Arial
    (Hebrew);Arial (Arabic);Arial Baltic;Arial (Vietnamese);
    Introducción
Has anyone seen this before? How can I avoid this?

    Hi, Peter,
I think the usual advice, at least for non-western European
languages, is to compile an HTML Help file on a PC whose default
language is set to that of the help file. For example, you should
compile a Japanese help file on either:
    A full Japanese Windows PC.
A non-Japanese Windows PC on which you've installed the East
Asian language files and set the language to Japanese via Control
Panel > Regional and Language Options > Advanced.
I don't think it's necessary to go to these lengths for help
    files in western European languages.
The compile-time settings of both help file and PC have no
influence over the language in which the text labels of the toolbar
buttons are shown, as this is determined by Windows at run time.
So, a French help file will have French button labels when opened
on a French PC and English labels when opened on an English PC.

  • What is new in RoboHelp 8 for Word ?

Did Adobe make any fixes or add any new stuff to the RH for Word with the version 8?
The only features they describe where RH for Word is mentioned on the Feature page was how to NOT install it by default.
Any one using this that used past versions see differences?

    Hi there
Colum is a teensy bit misleading in his reply. Certainly he is spot on with most of it, but the bit about WinHelp not being supported out of the box on Vista is technically incorrect.
What is technically correct is that 32 bit WinHelp is not directly supported. The first time you attempt to run a 32 bit WinHelp file you are prompted to download the 32 bit WinHelp display engine. But support out of the box is there for 16 bit WinHelp with no download needed.

What version are you using? Search highlighting in WebHelp was introduced in version 7.

The interface for RoboHelp HTML is easier to use than Word. The biggest hurdle many face is the loss of Tab Stops. You really would do yourself a favor if you tried RoboHelp HTML. It too is a very nice (and mature) product.

I do use RoboHtml for some smaller help systems, but those are mostly help systems that contain less than 50 pages. To maintain my afore mentioned WebHelp system using RoboHtml would, unfortunately, very much decrease my productivity....
I'd say it depends greatly on how you structured your content. I never noticed that I had any sort of productivity loss as a result of switching. Sure, you have multiple documents with many topics in each document. In the RoboHelp HTML world each topic is an HTML page. But you knew that already. What I'm guessing may be news for you is that you may organize HTML pages into folders.

  • Converting RoboHelp 7 HTML Project to RoboHelp 9 for Word Project?

Due to complications in localization, I've been asked to evaluate authoring in doc files instead of HTMs, since the tool we use for localization (Across Server) seems to work better (or so we're told) with doc files.
I've only authored in RoboHelp HTML with a CHM output for the last several years, so I'm unfamiliar with RH for Word. But I have used Doc-to-Help many years ago, so I'm somewhat familiar with the implications of using doc files.
How would I go about doing this conversion? Is there some utility that does this, or is the best way to export to a printed output and then import that output into a new project?
I'm also going to evaluate this using RH 9 since I'm considering upgrading from RH 7. I only have Word 2003.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jared

RoboHelp for Word has only had minimal changes for the last two versions. Take a hint. Also enhancements to RoboHelp HTML outputs have not been mirrored.
I suggest you do some work in RoboHelp for Word and see how much you enjoy it.
As for conversion, open RoboHelp for Word and see the import options. Your idea seems to be the way to go, if you really really have to.
Oh, one more thing, you will not get much help in the RoboHelp for Word forum because there is hardly any user to user support.

  • Can't open X5 projects in RoboHelp 7 for Word

After upgrading from X5 to 7, I tried to work on some
RoboHelp for Word projects sent by a colleague who created them in
X5. He and I are both working with Word 2003. The Explorer stops
responding when I try to open one of these projects or one of their
    source docs.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Robo 7 and installed both
patches & Robo seems OK. I can create and compile new, small
    test projects.
But it will not work with the legacy projects. I noticed in
the Task Manager that when Explorer stops responding, it appears as
two Explorers in Task Manager. Is this expected behavior or a sign
of an installation problem? I did not troll through the registry
and delete every RoboHelp key before the most recent install. Do I
    have to do that?
I tried deleting all the rtf files. No use. I tried importing
one of the old docs into a new project. Explorer promptly stopped
    responding.
Anyone know how I can either massage the old docs so that
Robo will work with them or how I can fix the install?

  • RH8 for Word not displaying images in WebHelp

    Greetings.
We recently upgraded from RH7 for Word to RH8 for Word.  Images (bitmaps) that displayed perfectly when RH7 compiled the WebHelp do not display at all when RH8 compiles the WebHelp.  All we get is an extra blank line -- not even a broken image link.
Images are in the correct folder; nothing has changed, except for the upgrade.
The images were placed in the files using the New Help Image icon.
This is an urgent and high-priority issue for us.  Adobe Tech Support is unable to assist.
    Thank you!
    Jerry

    Hi again
Well, one might assume that you knew where the WebHelp output folder was because you are reporting the images aren't showing when you view WebHelp. So the question now becomes: How exactly are you viewing the WebHelp? Are you clicking the "View Result" button after you generate? Are you viewing after you publish it to the Web Server? (That doesn't sound right as you are saying the "keeper" won't push it until the image issue is resolved. This would seem to infer that you aren't involved other than to post and act as an intermediary?
    Cheers... Rick
