Robohelp 10 not wysiwig: Design pod vs. preview and output

Converting MSWord docx files to WebHelp w/RH10.
Using imported CSS.
In the Design pod the output looks spaced as expected but in Preview (CTRL + W) or actual output, the spacing is all wrong. It is as though my CSS is not being enforced.
BUT then i select some paras and reapply the style from the Style drop down or S&F pod, and then the out put looks correct in the Preview and final output.
BUT I check the HTML code before and after reapplying the style to the paras and I see no difference. It just kind of magically makes the output look spaced correctly even even though I can see not code difference in the HTML.
I am converting books and cannot be highlighting every para to reapply styles ;-)
Please advise if anyone out there in RoboLand has a hint.

When Rh imports, it creates a CSS for the topics created. If later in the process you are specifying a specifc CSS, things will go wrong as that CSS will have different style names. See Importing on my site. It's not a quick read but I think it will be the answer.

Aperture not working to get import previews and thus import images

I cannot seem to get images to appear int eh Import Window's preview pane, and thus cannot import them. I have some 1600 images from a recent shoot in a sub-folder on an external drive (in two locations actually) and Aperture is not hunting them down. I have tried importing files on the desktop as a test and the same problem, no previews and no chance to import. All my OS and Aperture updates are installed and I did a restart to no avail.
I know that this version of Aperture, along with the user manually select to not import into a New Project (grip for Apple dev if they are reading), that previews take long to load and freeze the Import process on my setup. So, it could be that it is taking forever to get 1600 previews, but viewing them in a finder window shows no problems getting previews.
Any pointers as to what the problem might be?

I have occasionally had this problem and found either waiting a while or cancelling the Import and then retrying the Import (and being patient) works.
The workflow I use includes giving a custom master/version name to the appropriate images from the camera, such as "Judy in the Garden", importing those pics of Judy, and then supplying another master/version name, such as "Punch Drunk" for the appropriate images of Punch, importing those, and so on. So it can take many iterations to pull all the images in. Often the imports work as you would expect but then suddenly, nothing appears to happen and cancel and I redo it. My suspicion is Aperture is busy doing some housekeeping or other (or hung) but since a retry or two does the trick, I don't worry about it.

All pdf say they are the wrong file type or are damaged. will not allow to open in preview and no pdf's can be printed as they are "empty"

All PDF's I try to save will save but nobody can open them. Message is it cannot be opened by reader it is the wrong file type or has been damaged.
Tried to open with Preview and the message says it is empty, also empty if you try to sea as a PDF in the print option!

Different resolution in preview and output format

Hi Folks
I need your help. We already captured a lot of e-learning material but come to a problem.
The output format quality is less good than the preview quality.
Win7 /Captivate 6
Capture resolution for software simulation is 1024x768.
Producing the material in swf and html. No compressing, set to best quality.
Open the preview: quality is nearly the same as the original source.
Open the swf directly or the html --> output looks cloudy, diffuse.
Test with an without scalable html. In case of scalable html it is hard to find the right resolution (1024x768) on a 1280x1024 resolution monitor, but you can find it and the the output is clear as the preview.
The output format resolution within the project is set to 1024x768. We measured the "true" output resolution on different produced output formats, and they are all a little bit higher than 1024x768, about 4% more heigh and width.
Of course, I was able to change the html-script which sets the start-format for an swf to open, if I change it to 1024x768 and save it, the quality of the swf is like the preview and sharp and ok. But in case of scalable html I cannot set the format. However, why the swf -even when i start/opeen it directly- didn't start with the right resolution set in the settings within the project?
Also our target group should not "search" for the sharp resolution by scaling the output window.
Why does captivate change the resolution? why is the preview ok and the produced swf not? I didn't understand that fact.
Also we like to produce with TOC, so the widht for TOC is 250. If I change the html script in that case to 1024+250=1274x768 the swf is also unshapr/cloudy and I havee no change to fit it to the right resolution (1024+TOC).

Pages look fine in Design mode but Preview and Publish Distorted Footers

I'm experiencing some unusual issues with Muse. Footers on some of my pages are either not displaying content or distorting them..for example:

But live and in preview mode the issue shows.
I went so far as to delete ALL the files on the server and upload the entire site and all files from scratch to make sure nothing was colliding.
Can anyone help?

Yes - I'm sorry I should have come back in and closed the question. It was all being caused by a very simple and short Google+ code that was to display the Google+ logo. As soon as I removed it, the footer rendered correctly. Here is the offending code:

Preview and output in Encore cs5 quality, not close to preview in Premiere Pro CS5

I am working on a project and in Premiere Pro the preview looks fantastic. Sequence that I am dealing with is AVCHD 1080i. When I send the sequence to Encore via Dynamic Link, the preview is fuzzy, not sharp and out of focus. Not only is the preview quality poor in Encore but the output to DVD is just as bad. The footage is pristine in Premiere Pro. I don't get it and I am seriously frustrated. I have done other projects and never had this problem. I have also tried DV NTSC for the sequence setting and got the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it's true that AVCHD to DVD in Encore is not of very good quality but there is a workaround for that.
You can use "Maximum Render Quality" for transcoding the AVCHD file. The quality would be much better than earlier.
to do this :
Just Right click on the asset which is untranscoded and choose Transcode Setting (First option in the context menu)
In the dialog box that comes for Transcode settings, check the "Use Maximum Render Quality" check box and then transcode the file.
This should look good.

Notes on I-pod, I-phone and I-pad disappeared. Any way to get them back?

The yellow "notes" application on all 3 of my mobile devices lost all of my entries except five. I thought all Apple devices were safe from viruses etc. so I had important entries on there going back to 2010. I also have the I-Cloud and its not on there. Extra quest6ion: does this mean they can erase my pictures too?

You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

Mismatch between preview and output

Hi..
I'm new to After Effects, and having some problems with a project I'm working on..
It's a fairly simple project, just some tracking and replacing elements in a video clip.
Everything looks fine in the RAM preview, things line up and the timing looks good.
However, I run into problems when I want to render the final result.
Everything seems to be off, with regards to the timing. It looks like all my keyframes
are off by a few frames, leading to misalignment.
As I said, I'm new to After Effects (this is my first attempt at editing any kind of video),
and I suspect I screwed up right at the begining of my project.
The original footage is 23,970 fps, but I changed the composition framerate to 23,976 fps.
Can't remember why exactly, I suspect it had something to do with tracking in Mocha..
Could this be the reason my output is off?
Any tips on how to correct this, without trying to figure out how many frames each pre-comp
is off, and manually correcting them? I have about 20 elements which would need editing..

If you cahnged the comp framerate, anturalyl you would also have to forcibly override the source footage framerate in the footage interpretation. Other than that you could be seing issues with interlaced footage where in the "inbetween" areas, that is the alternate field, your motion is interpolated linearly from the preceding even field to the next one on a whole frame basis, making it look misaligned because it is in teh wrong position, naturalyl. Check that, too. If all fails, force conform your footage to a "clean" framerate e.g. by time-stretching it and rendering a suitable clip for mocha. You can always go back to the original then or time-stretch back later or scale the keyframes temporally. Many ways to skin the cat....

View Window -- Build and Output

Regardless of what I do, I am not able to see the "Build" and "Output" windows on my Workshop IDE. I tried lauching them from the menu: View - Widnow - Output; View - Window - Build.
I also tried using the key combinations, Alt+0 and Alt+5 respectively.
Getting back these two windows is essential for me to debug and see compilation errors.

Even I am having the same issue! I can't bring back the "output" and the "build" window on Workshop.

PREVIEW AND DESIGN DONT MATCH

Hi there folks, I am new to Muse and the forum. I have begun building my site and am very happy with my design. However when previewing my pages the menu and other elements do not match what I see in my design pages. I have tried a straightforward preview and a browser preview. Its really frustrating trying to design and not see the results - I certainly dont want to design in a 'compensatory' fashion and try to anticipate what will eventually be shown on the web! Are there any helpful suggestions, Much appreciated, Steve

Hi there and thanks for your response, here are the screen shots which show the issue. The design in Muse and next to it the preview in chrome. I have tried in Firefox and the same preview occurs. As you can see the design looks fine in Muse. Its really frustrating! I dont have the site published yet so can't provide a URL. I wanted to solve this problem before publishing. Cheers Steve

Preview and iPhoto do not open correctly raw or tiff files: they appear in false color!

Lately my macbook pro 13 ' with OS X Mountain Lion does not open files .raw correctly: they appear false color in "Preview" and also in iPhoto! What can I do?

Preview and safari do not display images in a pdf, where as chrome will. How do I fix this?

I'm on the newest OS X Yosemite and I have an issue with viewing pdfs in both preview and safari. The figures show up fine from Chrome. This also leads to the issue of when I try to print off the pdf. The images do not appear in the printed version.
Safari/ Preview:

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

Preview and Image Capture Not Recognising Scanner

Preview and Image capture have stopped recognising my networked Canon MX350 scanner. It seemed to occur after I used PhotoScore to scan some sheet music but that could be coincidence. I deleted the scanner driver and reinstalled it from the Canon website together with the MP Navigator software, and I am now able to scan from MP Navigator but not Image Capture or Preview. I have run Software Update but no updates are available.

Apple's official documentation only provides an information about printing by using this device - scanner is not listed. I would suggest to look for specific drivers on Canon's official webpage.
