RoboHelp 10 Skin Navigation Button - Link Open in New Window

I'm using RoboHelp 10 and am trying to get the button in my navigation skin to open a link in a new window.  I researched this extensively and have not been able to get it to work.  Can you please assist?

Is that link for some external website or some pdf file etc?
When you create a button on a skin and ask it open a file it should do that in the web browser.
If the link is for a website etc then it might give you the following link but you can still open the url in a new window by clicking on 'Open this content in a new window".

  • Link opening as new window.

    Hi, I recently changed some static buttons on a website that had links to different pages within the site, when clicked, they would open in the same window, all good.
    Now, I changed these static buttons for some flash (.swf) buttons instead to make the home page look a bit more modern. The problem is, I used Contribute 4 to turn the new flash button to a link. Now when click on the new button, the link open a whole new page up, something I really don't want.
    What has me most confused is that the 'Link Properties' box shows the Target Frame as Default, which I took to mean would open the link in the existing window.
    Anybody have any clues why this is happening? I still have a few static links on the page with the same link properties, and these work fine.
    Thanks in advance . . .

    Ok, figured it out for myself.
    I had made the flash buttons quite some time ago and had forgotten that there was actually an action in the button to open a new URL but I had unwittingly made the action to open a fresh page every time it was clicked on.
    I remedied the action on the flash button, and removed the (contribute) link - which was never needed in the first place.
    The buttons work a charm now and open the new pages in place of the existing one.

  • Why do links open in new windows, not tabs, even when that option is selected?

    Since update to v. 6 and now 7.01, clicking on links opens a new instance of Firefox instead of a new tab. In Tools\Options\Tabs. I have selected "open new window in tab instead" and it has no effect.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, while running in FF in safe mode may be doing the trick and thus implies an extension (though not necessarily), I haven't added any new extensions. So it is likely a problem introduced by FF since v. 6 or so. I suppose it could be that the extensions themselves need updating by their creators.
    Regardless it is all very time-consuming and frustrating, especially for something that one would think would be readily fixable.

  • Links opening in new window instead of new tab

    I'm running Safari Windows 4.0.4. I would like to use multiple tabs within one browser window. However, while in one tab, if I click on a link, it opens a new Safari window. I want it to open another tab. I have the "open links from applications" set to open in new tab, however, I can't find a setting for opening a new tab within sarafi itself. I hate that it opens a new window. Anyone point me in the right direction so that it opens a new tab in the same window?

    Is there a way, then, that the Safari team could add an option to the General tab that would default the click-on-link behavior to be the same as CTRL-click? I'm certain that adding such a feature would be insanely easy?
    Great browser Apple ... really like it; but could you please fix this in a service-pack soon?
    Thanks!

  • Title bar gets squashed when a link opens in new window.

    It doesn't happen when i click "open in new window" but only when I click a link that opens in new window automatically. The title bar gets narrower so the tab goes outside the screen. After minimizing and maximizing again it becomes OK. It's the same in "safe mode". I also tried creating a new profile but the problem still exists.

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Why does clicking a link open a new window with a spam site on it?

    Happens randomly I will click a link that I want open on new tab it opens but a random site will open in a new window. These sites that open are spam sites that I do not want. I have uninstalled deleted firefox and reinstalled it nothing is fixing this issue. My other computer has the same problem. Does not happen all the time its just random sometime i dont even have to click a link and a new window will open with dating sites poker sites just crap I did not want opened.

    Recomend getting adblock for firefox.
    if you still get unrelated links you should consider scanning for Malware on you computer (this could be an installed program or an extension). I would recommend Malwarebytes as it is somewhat free to use.

  • Every link opens a new window even when this should open a new tab

    Lately, whenever I click on a link a new window opens (11 happenings of firefox just to get to this page). In options I have selected open new tab instead of new window. Deselecting or reselecting does not change this. Restarting firefox did not help either. Also for some reason if I click the dot button on the keyboard, I get the greater than sign.

    This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.

  • HTMLB Link : opening in new window

    Hello,
    I have a custom worksetmap component (which extends AbstractPortalComponent).
    In one scenario it renders a list of sap systems, on click of which, opens a saplogonpad.
    Now the issue we are facing is that when user clicks on one such link, worksetmap component screen goes blank.
    We are using following way to set HTMLB link properties: -
    titleLink.setReference(<link to sap system>);
    Is there any way to open this in a new window so that worksetmap component stays on its current state?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

    Hi Amey,
    you can use titleLink.onClick="EPCM.doNavigate(targetUrl....);"
    see this page to understand the navigation API.
    Navigation API - Running an Enterprise Portal - SAP Library
    in your case you should either use navigation mode 1 (new window),
    3 (new headerless window) or 10 (new headerless window standards mode).
    according to your previous statement I think you need navigation mode 1.
    BR,
    Saar

  • After Firefox has been running a while, every link opens a new window

    After Firefox has been running for a while, every link starts opening in a new window. Until today, if I closed Firefox and restarted it, it would stop happening ... until it started happening again. Then today, I closed it down and restarted it, and it was STILL happening. So either I find a solution, or I stop using Firefox on my Mac.
    This is a vanilla installation - both for the Mac and Firefox. I don't use the Mac as my main computer. The Mac is running OS X 10.5 8. The problem has existed through many upgrades of Firefox. I always upgrade as requested. This last time, however may have been the killer. A new upgrade was installed right before the problem became unfixable by shutting down and restarting. I'm running Firefox 15.0. I just rebooted, however, and now (for now), it's working properly.
    I have no add-ons installed in Firefox.
    My only plug-ins are iPhotoPhotocast, QuickTime, SharePoint, and Shockwave Flash.
    I've seen multiple reports of this problem on this Web site, but no solutions. Just a generic recommendation to disable add-ons to see which one is conflicting. But I'm running no add-ons. I think there's a bug in Firefox.

    If it were an extension or theme or a Mac driver, wouldn't it cause the problem consistently? This only happens after Firefox has been running for a while. I'm using Firefox to type this reply right now, and the problem is not happening.
    And it's not because I suddenly start using some offending software. As I said, I don't use the Mac as my main computer. Usually I'll have been using my PC, I'll go back to the Mac to check my email on Firefox, and suddenly the link problem is happening. I only use the Mac to check email on the server before I download it with Outlook (on the PC) so I can delete spam on the server first.

  • Why does ctrl+Left click a link open a new window? It should open a new tab in the current window.

    When I try to Ctrl+Left click to open a link in a new tab, it will open it in a new window instead. Then while in the new window if I Ctrl+Left click a link it will open a new tab in the second window. If I then go back to the first Firefox window and Ctrl+Left click a link the second firefox window will pop up and the new tab will be created there. Why won't the Ctrl+Left click work when only one window is open?

  • Yahoo Search Links Opening in New Windows Instead of Existing Window

    This literally happened withn the last hour. I've done some Yahoo searches, and when I click the link, instead of opening it in the existing window like it always does, it opens the links in new windows.
    Is this something I did inadvertendly? How can I fix this? I don't want to have to right click to open in a new tab in the same window.

  • Links open in new windows instead of tabs.

    When browsing the internet, if I'm using a browsing session from a previous day, when I select to open a new link as a new tab, it will open in a new window instead.
    In my case, I put my work computer to sleep yesterday evening and started using it again this morning. Now all my links try to open in a new window even if I specifically choose to "Open Link in New Tab".
    This is extremely annoying.

  • Links opening in new window, not mainframe even though code is set...

    Hi All,
    Wondering if anyone can help!
    I'm making a website in Dreamweaver CS3 and I have 3 frames. One on the left named 'links', one at the top called 'Scrollingbar' and then the main content window called "contentframe".
    I have created images as links in the left hand frame and wanted them to load in "contentframe" when clicked. I have done this on a website before but for some reason, it isn't working this time. The code all looks fine to me but when clicked, instead of loading in "contentframe", it opens a new page/tab in a browser with the page I want loaded in "contentframe". Here's my code for my links:
    <body>
    <div align="center"><a href="home-main.html" target="contentframe"><img src="Images/Links/Home.jpg" alt="Home" width="170" height="85" border="0" /></a></div>
    <p align="center"><a href="events.html" target="contentframe"><img src="Images/Links/Events.jpg" alt="Events" width="170" height="85" border="0" /></a></p>
    </body>
    </html>
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for any help!
    PS I have uploaded the page to www.ttotmcomedy.com/home.html to test it when live.

    Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are saying but I can only design a basic site in HTML, that's as far as my knowledge goes and the frames layout has worked well for me in the past (see http://www.ttotmcomedy.com/KKBB%20website/). It keeps the links always on the left meaning it's easy to navigate and I can keep event information in the top bar at all times, wherever the user is on the website. I also achieved top 10 ranking in Google. I unfortunately don't have the time to dedicate to learning to code in a different language and neither can I afford to pay somebody to do it...
    The code for the whole frameset is:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-frameset.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <frameset rows="112,310" cols="*" framespacing="2" frameborder="yes" border="2" bordercolor="#999999">
      <frame src="scrollbar.html" id="Scrollbar" />
      <frameset rows="*" cols="190,812" framespacing="2" frameborder="yes" border="2" bordercolor="#999999">
        <frame src="links.html" id="Links" />
        <frame src="home-main.html" id="contentframe" />
      </frameset>
    </frameset>
    <noframes><body>
