Robohelp 11 Trial closes immediately when opened

Yesterday, I installed a trial of Robohelp 11 on my personal Windows 7x64 machine in an attempt to learn the program for a potential job.
Fresh install and when I opened the program, it immediately closes.  No error message.  I have spent probably 3 hours troubleshooting on my own and 45 min chatting with Adobe support.  So far, no resolution.  It is completely baffling me.  My userid on the computer is in the Administrators group, and I have no problems installing other software.  This is all that has been done troubleshooting:
1) I have changed the shortcut properties to run as Administrator (Shortcut tab-Advanced-Run as Administrator and Compatibility tab - Run this Program as an Administrator) as well as right clicking on the shortcut and choosing Run as Administrator.
2) I have tried running in compatibility mode as XP with SP2 and 3.
3) I have completely uninstalled the program, downloaded it again, and reinstalled.
4) I have looked in Event Viewer and found no error or informational messages to point to a problem
5) I have turned on the hidden Administrator account (net user administrator /active:yes), logged in to it and launched the program.  In fact, this was the last thing the Adobe chat support rep suggested I tried before I had to end the session to meet someone for dinner last night.
Those are the main things I can think of that I've done.  I am at a complete loss.  Anyone run into this?

Given the level of information in your first post, I am assuming you would have mentioned if you had installed to other than the C drive.
I did wonder about an anti-virus program interferring but I think that would prevent Rh from opening rather starting it and then closing. It might nonetheless be worth disconnecting from the internet and turning off the AV.
Where did you unpack the download? Was it to a drive other than C? If it was, try moving the unpacked download to C and then installing.

  • 3rd party apps close immediately when opened

    Hello All,
I saw that this issue: "3rd party apps close immediately when opened" was happening often on older iPAD posts, however, was not able to find a solution.  I cannot open any 3rd party apps, but email, photos, etc work fine.  thanks for the help!

If it's happening on all the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store, but not the Apple built-in ones, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

Bye the way this is Acrobat Pro 8.

Thanks. That sort of worked. I tried reinstalling 8 and the process stopped but then the software worked after reactivation.

yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
    open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
    go to the device summary
    click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this!

  • Audition CS6 closes immediately upon opening

    Hello,
Although it worked perfectly before Aud.CS6 now closes immediately upon opening.
"Adobe Audition has stopped working" the error message says.
I believe there must be a glitch lurking somewhere in Windows 7 but I have no idea how to find it.
Maybe there's a setting, somewhere, which can be changed.
If this problem is familiar to anyone who knows what to do about it please tell me.
    Thanks for your consideration,
    cobaltgreen

    Steve-
I've uninstalled and reinstalled already and it makes no difference
I've adjusted the compatibility setting for Vista (why is there no setting for Windows 7 ?) and this makes no difference.
I do believe that the problem lies not with Aud.5 but within Windows 7 somewhere.
Can you think of any Windows setting which might have some bearing on the issue?

I thought these strips are caused by PCIe ,  second video card, but then I launched virtual machine (just to make computer switch to the second video adapter to see it something will change).  Now virtual machine is working in the background, Mac is working on the second video adapter -  nothing bad happens.(just as before)...  But then suddenly,  out of nowhere it ether gets freezed or strips appears on the screen(as on photo above)

  • Acrobat X closes immediately when PDF is double clicked

I run CS6 (English) on Windows 8 (German). If I double click a PDF Acrobat opens and immediately closes again. I can drag the PDF document on window head and the document opens fine. I can also click to a PDF that is pinned to the task bar and it opens. But if I double click a PDF document it closes immediately. I'm aware of the EULA bug and also applied the AcrobatFix. Since I'm able to open the documents and no EULA shows up when I open Acrobat it seems to be somethibgn different. It is really annoying.

    Partly solution:
I saw that the PDF files where associated with Acrobat Reader which has been updated to version 11. I changed the association to Acrobat X and now I can open the files with a double click again.

  • Lightroom CC was installed. But Lightroom CC crashes immediately when opened. How do I fix this?

All seemed to go well during the installation. When I first opened it from the CC tool I got the start up screen momentarily, then it closed on its own. Further attempts to open Adobe Lightroom resulted in the icon briefly appearing in the dock, then disappearing again within a second.

  • Why do apps close immediately after opening in my iMac?

I work with imac. I have a problem when I open software standard  like appstore or preview, these apps open and close immediately.help???

You probably ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Why do apps close immediately after opening?

I updated to iOS 4.3.3 on my iPad, now my apps close immediately after I open them.
Built-in apps are OK, but all my added apps no longer run!
    Help!
I have rebooted using the sleep button held down for 10 seconds.   No joy.
Now, I was advised to hold down sleep button and home circle button at same time and disregard the red bar... this reboots to Apple circle, but still apps close really fast after I try to open them.
This actually started several hours after my update, not right away, but that is all that changed.
    Very frustrating!

Jeanne ... You answered my post in a totally different thread but I did read it. If the problem is in the OS, why do the built in Apple apps not cause the iPad to crash? That reasoning makes no sense to me. Did you try closing all of the apps like I suggested and then restart?
Another way to approach this is to remove all of the apps from your iPad. Do this by removing them when you sync. Simply uncheck all of the non Apple apps and sync. Then - one or two apps at a time- add them back on to the iPad by resyncing. Use those one or two apps and see if they crash. If they don't crash, add one or two more apps and try those. Keep repeating the process until the iPad starts to crash again. You should be able to narrow down which app is causing the problem.
Are you sure that all of these apps are compatible with 4.3.3. as well? Check in the app store and make sure that they are.

  • Apps close immediately after opening?

yesterday i upgraded my iphone 3gs to iOS4, all was fine i thought until i wanted to watch the french get knocked out the world cup using the itv world cup 2010 app (england only?)
i open the app, it then closes immediately! so i turn off phone, turned it back on then opened the app again, it attempts to open, then it closes after a couple of seconds
so i delete the app from the iphone, and also my itunes library. then i re-downloaded it.
synced my iphone and then checked the app again and it still WON'T open!
so i tried my other apps and the only other one i can see that also closes upon opening is the BatteryDoctor Pro app which i paid for!
is anyone else having this problem?

which app mate? or both of them?
only a bit miffed at the battery doctor app because i paid for that lol

The Calendar app on my Ipad air closes immediatley I open it. This started after i upgraded to the latest IOS.

Try force closing the app. Double tap the home button. Scroll sideways if needed to bring the icon and preview of the calendar app on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. THen single tap on the home button or the home page preview to exit the mode and try your app again.

iTunes u closes as soon as I open it. What should I do?

I would start with this FAQ Entry first, if you have not done so yet: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0
It starts with a checklist for getting PrE set up properly, then moves into tuning up one's system and OS (you have done a lot of that already), and then goes into troubleshooting tips. Note: those tips rather work up quickly in "degree of difficulty," and DO become quite technical, but things like the "Finding Clues" link will give some tools, that might prove useful, like the use of Windows' Event Viewer to track down issues.
One of the first things to look at would be your video driver. I would go to the video card's/chip's mfgr's. Web site, and check for a later driver. Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you if you have the latest driver. If there is not a newer video driver, or it will not install properly on your system, be sure to check with the HP Web site, as HP, Dell, Lenovo, and some other mfgrs. will re-package video drivers to suit their specific setup.
One troubleshooting technique, that might prove useful (however, those deleted programs bother me a bit here), would be to create a System Restore Point for now (see Windows Help for doing this with your particular OS version). Then, boot to Safe Mode, and choose an older System Restore Point, from when things did work. This might take some trial-and-error, to get back far enough. Test. At the worst, you will only have lost a few minutes, as you have your new System Restore Point for now, to fall back on.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
