RoboHelp 7 Text Only Pop Up Generating Issue

I created links for my text only pop ups and when I save and
look at the page in the preview mode with the glasses, my text only
pop ups work. When I generate my Primary Layout the text only pop
ups do not work. I tried doing text only pop ups on different topic
pages to see if it was an issue with one particular topic, but it
did not work for any of them. What can I do to fix this problem
that seems to be occuring with the transition of generating my
Primary Layout?

Text-only Pop-ups with linked Word docs in RH8 and links in general

Procedures have been written in Word with several words to have pop-up definitions. The Word-styles have been set up in my RH8 project. I plan on linking the Word docs instead of importing them.
What are the impacts to the pop-ups and links when the original Word document gets modified down the road. Do these all need to be set up again?
Am I better off performing an import or will linking be acceptable? I have not tried to create the pop-ups or links at this point.
Additionally, we already called out related procedures at the bottom of our procedure (they are not linked-would do that in RH). Should I remove these in the Word document and perform the drop and drag function in RH8 to add the related documents?

A pop-up menu can be associated only with timelines not with playlists.

Cannot Create Text-Only Topic File in RoboHelp 7

I've been trying to add context-sensitive text-only help to my project using ROBOHELP 7. However, when I select "Create/Import What's This? Help File" it
does not create the file when I enter the file name on the Create/Import What's This? Help File dialog box. I enter the file name and clicl Open BUT the file is not created....weird.
How can I create this file so i can create text-only help.

I decided to see if I could sort this. It seems illogical, but here is what I seem to have discovered. When you right-click the "What's This? Help Files" and choose Create/Import, one might assume that you would be able to create a new file. But this doesn't seem to be the case. So here's how I overcame it. From the dialog, right-click and choose to create a new Text file. Nothing will seem to appear (at least it didn't for me). Dismiss the dialog, then repeat the process. You should see a file named New Text Document.txt. Right-click and name it what you like. Then you will be able to point at this document via the dialog.

Why does a text banner pop up while in a text converstaion? only the sound alerted before iOS 6.

but that only started with iOS 6. prior, the text tone would sound when you were in a different conversation. I like the banner but it's annoying when I'm already in the text screen.... understand the question?

THE NEED:

I need to display text only portal pages. Some of the more
detailed concerns at this point are below. Also, I've had an open
tar on Metalink for about two weeks, and after research from
their end has resulted in no help.
THE ISSUES (so far):

If an anchor [A HREF=...] tag uses an image as it's "text", I
need to strip out the ALT= text to show inside the anchor. If no
ALT text is available, then I would like to show the image name
as a default.
For example:

How do I get the resulting page from a form (which include the
login inputs and submit button, search box, advanced search page,
etc.) to be displayed by the text only page?

When a form is called, the <FORM> elements are as follows:

In this case, the action value is:
ACTION=/servlet/page?

This calls the advanced search API.
I would expect that to redirect the browser back to some
text-only version, the ACTION= element would have to be changed

What happens when portal pages redirect internally? How do you

The login link on the standard Oracle Portal home page flips
from url to url to get to the actual login page. Our

Since this is standard Oracle redirection, how can it be

I've written a socket/text scraper in Perl, running it from a web
server. The problems mentioned above are really causing problems,
plus the whole cookie thing. Since Oracle Portal tries to push a
cookie to the client, when the client is another UNIX server,
the cookie thing doesn't work.
POSSIBLE OTHER SOLUTIONS:

Something...anything. I've tried to think of some method to
create some sort of PL/SQL procedure to catch the content then
strip out the HTML calls.
An Applet to do the same thing, but on the client side, but
since time is an issue, coding a complete Java applet isn't
really an option.

funded, and to meet Section 508 (part of the Americans with
Disabilities Act that states web sites and applications must be
made accessible. A text-only page is one of the requirements for

Use Find/Change and the GREP tab.
Search for .+ and set the Find formatting to find the charcteristics you want.
What will you do with this text once found? You'll need something to "change" to, either new text or Change Formatting options...

Web sites will not fully load. MSNBC, Fox and CNN load a partial page or load a text only version. this issue just started about a week ago.

Some news web sites will not fully load. MSNBC will only show the head line and advertisers. CNN and Fox show a text only version with very limited pictures and the same for . Durdge report loads fully as will the Chicago Trib. seems like only certain news sites are subject to this partial display. have not seen this on commercial sites.

Try deleting cookies and cache:
1. Tools| Clear recent history
2. Time range to clear: Everything
3. If it isn't already selected, select '''Cookies''' and '''Cache'''
4. '''Clear now'''

Text Format Different Once Generated

When I format the text in Robohelp for HTML it includes bold
text, underlined text and light type face text. When I generate the
Webhelp and open with Internet Explorer 6.0 there is bold text that
is not bold in Robohelp.
If I open with another broswer i.e. Mozilla Firefox, there is
no bold text other than what I have bold in Robohelp.
Any ideas?

No ideas except to check the true code. Sometimes, if you are
entering in line format changes, RoboHelp may not clean up some
tags and you may have duplicates or competing tags, e.g. . If this
is happening in a lot of places, you need to rethink how you handle
format changes.
For IE users, here is a true story:
Internet Explorer wouldn't connect to the internet. We could
access the internet from the MyComputer/Favorites tab but it
wouldn't show all multimedia content. IE always gave a "page cannot
be displayed" page. I was totally baffled so decided I would try
Microsoft's paid support. They had me download and try Firefox.
When that worked, they closed the issue and wouldn't continue to
troubleshoot. So, the official Microsoft position seems to be to
use Firefox.
Hopefully, you won't have to resort to that for your
users...

How to Install 64-bit "Generic / Text Only" print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server?

Hi All,
In a nutshell, I need to Install the 64-bit Generic / Text Only print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server’s “Generic / Text Only 32-bit print queue.
The problem is that there is no Driver-Disk to get the drivers. I’ve been able to isolate 14 files related to the 64 bit drivers from a Windows 7 x64 computer and copy them to a temp folder on the Windows 2003 x32 server. When I try to add the 64 bit driver
to the Windows 2003 x32 server, it wants a *.inf file, which I don’t have and can’t find.
Because Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, my client is replacing all of their Point-of-Sale Windows XP x32 systems with Windows 7 x64. They use Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows 2003 x32 server to use the POS system. The
POS software redirects LPT1 back to the local Generic / Text Only printer. This works great for XP x32.
When we use the Terminal Services POS software on the new Windows 7 x64 system, none of the labels print out because it’s redirected in 32-bit back to the local Windows 7 x64 Generic / Text Only 64-bit printer.
This will be a huge issue for me if I can’t get this to work.

X86 Generic/Text Only Printer Driver

Ive got a HP Thin Client that I need to setup a Epson TM88 Receipt printer on.
The issue is the software will only recognise this printer if its setup with the Generic/Text Only Windows Printer Driver which HP decided not to include in the standard image for the device.
Its running Windows 7 Embedded 32Bit.
Now ive looked online and seen heaps of people saying just install on a 32bit pc and then share it to get the driver. trouble is every other pc and server is 64bit and I cant do that.
even my home pc's are 64 bit so no option there.
Does anyone know if there is a download available anywhere online for the .inf file to make this work?
Alternatively can anyone specify the location and file name for the driver file so I can at least know where to look if I can find someone who has Win7 x86 installed?

The second listing with only Windows 8,Windows 8.1 Drivers is the x86 driver. Although it states Windows 8 the version is 6.1.7600.16385 and dated 6/21/2006.

How do you change the background color & font in a text-only popup?

It has been ages since I did this and I can't seem to remember how. I tried to edit the style sheet but it only has options to change the text-only popup hotspot/link and I need to change the background color and font style within the popup itself. Tried Adobe's help but it had no answer for me. Any one out there know how to do this? I am running RoboHelp 7.

By Popup do you mean a link that when clicked causes a separate topic to be displayed in a seperate window (popup) or Drop Down text?
For Popups that are displayed in a new window then the font and colour is changed in the topic that is displayed. Simply open the topic and change colours / features as required
If you are using drop down text and confusing this with a popup then the font and colour is changed when creating the drop down text. Right click the text and select Font to change colour etc.

Way to copy text only from Adobe and paste into Apple Pages?

I tried upgrading to Adobe ExportPDF and exporting to Word in hope that it would translated OK to Apple Pages. It did not, but I don't think it was because it had problems converting from Word to Pages. My guess is that it's because most of the text was wrapped around images. I know this because on the text that was NOT wrapped around image, I was able to paste it, though it was not a smooth convert in the sense that some fonts were substituted, certain characters were smooshed together and the spacing was uneven. That part was a conversion issue; however it is still more preferable than having to retype all the text.
Unless I can come up with another alternative this is what I will be forced to do on many, many PDF's that I need to convert (or successfully paste) into text-only documents.
It's weird because back in the day, I recall being able to simply highlight text that I wanted in a PDF document and then paste that text into a Pages document. Then it all changed and Adobe doesn't seem to allow you be able to do that.
Can anyone come up with a workaround for this problem? I don't have hours upon hours to convert all my PDF writing work into text only docs (to put on my online portfolio to make it easier for clients, etc., to read).
Any help with this problem would be most appreciated.

How can I download a web page's text only?

I have some code (below) which can download the html of a web page and this is usually good enough for me. However, sometimes it would just be easier to work with if I could download just the text only of a given page. And sometimes the text that appears on
the given page is not even available in the html source, I guess because it is the result of some script or other in the html rather than being definied by the html itself.
What I would like to know is, is there any way I can download the "final text" of a web page rather than its html source? Even if that text is generated by a script in the html? As far as I can see the only way to do this is to load the page in a
browser control and then get the document text from that - but that's far from ideal.
And I dare say somebody out there knows better!

A WebBrowsers DocumentText looks like below. The outertext of each HTML element does not necessarily contain all of the text displayed on a WebBrowser Document. Nor does the HTML innertext or anything in the documents code necessarily contain all of the
text displayed on a WebBrowser Document. Although I suppose the code tells where to display something from somewhere.
Therefore you would require
screen scraping the image displayed in a WebBrowser Control in order to collect all of the characters displayed in the image of the WebBrowser Document.

Toolbar "text only" option is STILL broken in 9.0.2, it seems...

Hi Guys,
This one really worries me, 'cos it's such a basic problem. And furthermore, the release notes in both 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 both state that the problem has been fixed....
Anyway, is everyone else having the issue where:
- You right-click on the toolbar (up the top of Logic)
- You choose "text only"
- You then click on some of the buttons (such as "Auto Zoom", or "Previous/Next Marker") and all the icons in the toolbar come back!
Is this just me, or have Apple managed to overlook this in both the .1 and .2 update?
Also... in Logic 8, the text for the marker buttons on the toolbar said "Previous Marker" and then a separate one "Next Marker".
In Logic 9, there is just one piece of text: "Previous/Next Marker".
This is fine as guiding text for when the buttons are visible, but when you try to use the text only option, this becomes nonsense... these are two separate functions!!
Anyway... none of this is the end of the world, but it does worry me a little bit that both the updates have mentioned this as something they have fixed up, yet it's still a problem.
Hopefully in Logic 9.0.3....

Thanks for the feedback. I do use plenty of key commands, and they are quicker for sure!
It was more just an observation that on the occasion when I click on something in the toolbar like "COLOUR", it would be nice if the icons didn't re-appear every time!

No Images in Text-Only

Hello,
How would one go about eliminating the display of images inside portlets when
the text-only lookandfeel is selected? Please excuse my general lack of knowledge,
but I don't even know where to begin. I suspected it might be doable with the
netui:image but have not had any initial success. Thanks in advance

Had the same problem and didnt know what to do. But problem have been solved dont really know how, what i know is i was trying to look for some sort of paste options....went into "Files", ive clicked on the "device central..." a window open with some stuff loading, then canceled the window. Then craated a new document, did a shape with the 'rectangle tool" and type a short line random text, i then selected both and try to copy and paste them. it worked, both were pasted no single line text only this time. I try the same thing with a "place" image on the same document...copy both the image and the text and it pasted both of them. Im not having any issue now even after closing illustrator and opening it again, nor having any issue with the file when i first saw this problem.

HTML tags in text-only e-mail notification (with HTML attachment)

Our "Purchase Order Review" e-mail notifications (as generated by the WF-Mailer) have HTML tags in the message body (which is "plain-text" text-only), with an HTML attachment. (The attachment looks good, and is what we are expecting.) All our e-mail notifications are text-only (which is how we want them), and this is the only kind of notification that is generating HTML tags in the 'text-only' message body.
We'd like to keep the HTML attachment as it is, but we want to have the e-mail message body be text (without any HTML tags). The other option that would be acceptable is to NOT have any message content at all, and only the HTML attachment.
Can either of these options be done, and how do we go about doing them?? Thanks!! -- Tom

in the notifications properties you will see two tabs, in one you can enter your message in text and in another you can enter in html. not sure if you had tried these.
