RoboHelp 9 Training for ACE preparation

I am trying to find a RoboHelp 9 training class to take as I prepare for certification exam but so far all I've found are three-day courses across the country for over a thousand dollars. There do not seem to be any more affordable options, at least not that I've found the in the Washington DC area. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed - I just need to prepare for this exam. I've been using RH for a year but did not have any formal training (it's all been either self-taught or guidance from a more experienced colleague).
Are there any online courses any of you may know of, or specific test preparation materials that I should consider?

On a serious note, most of what I do on my own is via the internet with a screen sharing session. Essentially, you share your screen and I "look over your shoulder" as you work through examples and learn the product. We converse in real time. Typically using a headset microphone. But you can be on speaker phone if you like.

Training for 1z0-051?

Hello all,
I have a requirement by my employer to achieve Oracle Certification. I passed 1z0-052 last week after studying off and on for the last year and a half. Next up is 1z0-051 or 061.
Fortunately my employer is funding a training class for this exam. We have 11g in our environment, so it is the 051/052 track I started on. I noticed on the 051 exam page that the recommended training is no longer offered. I'm planning to take the training class linked from the 061 page (Oracle Database 12c: Introduction to SQL Ed 1.1). Is this adequate/sensible training for the 051 exam? Or should I scrap 051 in favor of 061? I see that either will count towards OCA/OCP.
I am speaking out of honest ignorance here, but it seems that the material covered for 061 is completely applicable to 051. Any sage advice for me? Am I off track in my assessment?

The 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-061 exams have about a 95% commonality in topics. The 'Introduction' section was added to 1Z0-061 and the 'Creating other schema objects' section that was in 1Z0-051 has been removed in 061. As such, the 061 training should prepare you for the vast majority of the 1Z0-051 exam.
That said -- there is no reason not to simply take the 1Z0-061 exam if that's what you are taking the training for anyway. I generally consider picking one over the other to be largely a toss up. Last week someone had the Oracle Press book for 1Z0-051 and was asking about taking 061. I suggested going with 051 since they had the study materials for it. In your case, the opposite applies, so I would suggest that the 1Z0-061 exam would probably be the (slightly) better choice.

please first understand the difference between a subject (your header) and its body line, please never write so long subject matter.
Now coming to your queries , what you thinks being at Australia or US is free of Cost. The first thing is that i don't understand your mission for taking Certifications, Are you a working proffesional because for more than 2 yrs. of working experience, you don't need any training , you can take direct examinations.
And if you are not a working professional, i don't thing taking any certification will serve any purpose in your job hunt, although it will enrich your Resume only, you will nothing get out of this from just taking a vertification
So, please tell us that you are a fresher or having real time working exposure in SAP SD module, then any one will guide you well.

Where to train for OCMJD?

Hello friends,
I am from Bangladesh and recently I have started to shift my career towards Java. I am at the final stages of preparing for OCPJP and my future plan is to take the OCMJD as well. However, in Bangladesh, I can only train for the OCPJP; anything else and I have to go to some other country (as far as I know).
I would prefer a instructor led training for OCMJD (though I am doing the same for OCPJP in Bangladesh). Can anyone suggest a good place to do the OCMJD training near Bangladesh (India or some other country)? Because I can't seem to find such a suitable place. In case, there aren't any instructor led training programs for OCMJD, what sort of training is available and where? How can I collect the course material and apply for the exam?
The help center provided by Oracle University has a phone number. Isn't there any email address where I can ask these questions?
Oh..... One more question: is "Object Oriented Analysis and Design with UML" ---- some sort of certificate from Oracle?

.... I only patronize OCM candidates who might be going for it too early.
At OCM level the candidate needs to be trying to did out authorative sources of information for themselves.
I guess you'd say you already found http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=458&get_params=p_track_id:JSED6 and it doesn't help much.
You might not find anything relevant in blogs.oracle.com/certification either .... but its worth a look. (e.g. https://blogs.oracle.com/certification/entry/0620a semi relevant).
{forum:id=923} is actually a more specialist forum for Java and the answer is more likely to be found there .... though the forum is probably not as heavily monitored and it is possilbe for non certification safe advice to be given there (eg links to braindumps). And to some extent I, who essentially don't do Java (only suffer it's stackdumps ;-) , am aware of that forum and would expect the OCM candidate to look there. But in practice for the Java my understanding is there are a couple of relatively safe sites where you'd probably get a greater pool of experts. My understanding is certguard.com regards coderanch.com is currently certification safe, and my understanding, possibly flawed, is it that it has a good reputation (not that everything may be good).
But you'll probably say you were at http://www.coderanch.com/t/543297/java-developer-SCJD/certification/OCMJD already; ... i simply say the OCM candidate wold probably work out they have a better change of there answer there.
I suspect browsing there may give a better view on how candidates are approaching that exam (some more right than others), the trick is to see work out what are the good answers. I think you may also hep yourself my identifying what areas you would be seeking training in.

Using IDE while trainning for cert exam

I'm training for certificatión exam SCJP 5. I was just thinking about if and IDE like eclipse could affect the learning process or something like that, what would be your opinion about using and IDE like eclipse during this process?, any advantages or disadvantages... I mean, non-experiencied programmers needs an IDE ?...

I would differ with slightly with Matthew because my guess is you would often be able to use like for like 12c training for an 11g certification ( I believe there are precedents). BEFORE ANYONE ASKS THE OTHER WAY DOESN'T HAPPEN.
.... but totally concur with Matthew you would ill advised to procede on that basis without one of:

- Confirmation from Brandye
- Confirmation from an Oracle Certification Support Web Ticket ( http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP )
... The more common (and in my opinion usually better) way would be get your 11g DBA OCP ( or higher first) and then take the 1z0-054. I am almost certain they will accept your 12c course for the 11g DBA OCP.
If you are choosing the route of not being a 11g (or 12c ) DBA OCP first but are on option 2 and relying on the course for certification then the issue is more in the balance and you are even more strongly advised to get confirmation before proceding (remember if the rules need to be changed for you only then any profit out of the exam is lost).
In general my understanding is Oracle would prefer to encourage people to train on the latest version of product that is available for training and will prefer to avoid restrictions which would cause you to train at a lower version. ( This is simply my guess at Oracle University Policy ... personal opinion only).
Having said all I have said I'd encourage you to go with the advice of the earlier two posts.

Generated RoboHelp Packager for Adobe Air Errors

Generated RH 8 to AIR 2 help yesterday and it is working. Now I want to package the AIR file
for deployment using the RoboHelp Packager for Adobe AIR utility. My Finish Dialog box displays" The Adobe AIR package was not generated".
The 1st grouping of errors are: Error(DirAssist&GreenPub_Icon.Bmp): The file names should not contain '&'.
I had taken the '&' out of the .bmp name before generating the file.
2nd grouping of errors are: Warning (Acct_Password_Auth.bmp): Adobe AIR 1.0 cannot render BMP image format in HTML. Hence it is converted to png.
This is fine.
3rd grouping of errors are: Warning (Back_Office_Management\Billing\About_BIlling_Processes.htm): Adobe AIR 1.0 does not support DHTML Effects and Triggers in HTML.
This one worries me. I have DHTML effects all over the help file.

Quite. RH8 creates the AIR file for you. The packager was for RH7.

RoboHelp 8 for Word not installed with RoboHelp HTML?

My workplace just upgraded from RoboHelp Office 5x to RoboHelp 8. Come to find out, *all* that was installed was RoboHelp 8 HTML. The RoboHelp 8 for Word part of the application was not installed.
The department responsible for software installations says that they don't have the RoboHelp 8 Word program--that it didn't come with the RoboHelp download. They are insisting that it's not available, and will probably have to be purchased separately.
Has anyone else installed a volume license from a download?
If so, were the HTML and Word portions of the program both available?
Did both parts of the application install (HTML and Word)?
If one installer was used, was the the RoboHelp 8 for Word portion missing? (I.e., is this a bug?) Or did you get the whole thing?
If more than one installer was used, were the components downloaded in separate installation files? (Could someone have missed an installation file, in other words?)
FYI, please, I don't need all the advantages and reasons why I should use HTML Help or WebHelp instead. I work for a government agency, and need to just generate WinHelp to replace an existing Help file, not make everyone change a whole bunch of stuff to use WebHelp or a CHM file. I need WinHelp output from Word. And, one more thing: I do not have administrator access on my PC either.

Robohelp 8 for Word: Problem with the Hotspot Topic

Hello Everybody:
I'm a beginner user of Robohelp 8 for Word trial version. My project is a WinHelp 2000, imported from a version X3, and I have a problem with Robohelp when I save the value "Topic" of the property "Jump" of the tab what is called "General" at the window "Hotspot Properties". This Hotspot is part of a Shed Image (accesible from Help Image Properties > Shed ... > Image Workshop > Properties button). After edit the topic, I press the "Aceptar" (OK) button (note that I use a Windows XP SP3 Spanish Version and some buttons are located) and close the Hotspot Properties window, and I close Image Workshop window too.
If immediately after I open the Image Workshop window and the same hotspot property window edited before, Robohelp lose the new value "Topic" and only it puts one letter. When I make the compilation they are multiple errors like this: HC3025: Warning: ESTA0058_2.SHG : Jump to undefined Topic ID: "A".
Please, help me. Thank you very much.

I think that everything that he wants to do is very doable. It would be quite a project for someone to take on for him. If it is a popular hymnbook it may well be a welcome blessing/gift of love for many others as well if made available. As I would envision the project it would require either the sacrifice of a copy of the hymnal or the availability of a loose leaf version of the hymnal, so that the individual pages could be taken apart and scanned. The scanned pages could then be assembled into a pdf document that is easily readable on many apps available for the iPad. Better still would be to research if the publishers of the hymnal have not already created an electronic version of the book in pdf format. If the publisher has not already crossed this bridge, then their permission would legally need to be secured before starting such a project of copying their compilation of hymns. Even though they may not own the rights to an old hymn which is now in the public domain, they hold the rights to the layout and composition of the printed pages of their hymnal.
The Accessibilty settings in the iPad itself is capable of enlarging text for the visually impaired, as well as providing white text on a black background.

Can someone explain very simply when and why you use one but
not the other? I'm a little confused. We have RoboHelp 7 Server
installed and I think using RoboHelp 7 is the way to go, and I know
the server does allow to track usage, frequently viewed, etc. I
guess I just don't understand the purpose of RoboHelp 7 for Word -
what it is used for and it's capabilities when compared to HTML.
I have tons of pages of process documentation created from
Word. I need to make these available online thru RoboHelp, so am
just looking at different ways to distribute and explore all my
options. We're currently experiencing difficulties in publishing
RoboHelp HTML projects to the server.

If your output is going to be HTML based (and if you have
RoboHelp Server, it will be) then I would recommend RoboHelp HTML
hands down.
