Robohelp Deleting files during generation

Hi everyone,
I am hoping that you can help me. *crosses everything*
I have created a help system that has two outputs, one for
each platform of the web application we provide to our clients.
During my last update, I noticed that the help system is deleting
several files that existed in previous generations for one of the
outputs. As a result, even though RoboHelp is providing a message
that says the generation was successful, when I click View Results,
I can't pull up the help. One of the files it is deleting the the
first topic for the particular version that I am generating. In
addition, it is deleting every wh*.* file in the main folder along
with most of the wh*.* files in the sub wh* folders.
I haven't dared regenerate the other version in fear that it
will do the same thing to it. I haven't changed anything in the
last update other than text within the files. The only thing I can
think of that I have changed significantly in the previous update
was re-applying the template to all of the pages.
I'm on the edge of a release and need help desperately! Any
help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
FYI: I am using RoboHelp X5.0.2
TIA,
Connie LaGoy

Hi Connie and welcome to the RH community. You say the "help
system is deleting" files. I've never known RH to do this so I
don't think this is the problem. I'm wondering if there is a third
party at fault here (e.g. virus software)? Have you tried creating
the output to a different location (e.g. your C: drive) and see if
you get the same results?

  • DW 4/WIN Crashes - Deleting Files During Synchronization

    Every time I choose "yes" to DW4 asking if I want to delete
    remote files not on my local drive, it crashes. I am running DW4 on
    Windows 2000. The timing of the appearance of the problem suggests
    that It may be related to my computer's firewall settings, but if
    it is, I don't know what to do about it.

    I think you are in trouble. DW4 predated W2K by at least 1
    year, and is now
    about 7 years (and 3 versions) out of date. I have no idea
    how to even
    address this problem for you....

  • HELP ! DELETED FILES On External Hard Drive

    Hello,
    I'm going crazy - I replaced/deleted files during a back-up.
    I have a G5 2.5 (Tiger OS10.4.9) with 2- Glyph GTO50-250 firewire external Hard drives. *I only use the computer for audio recording* using Pro Tools LE 7.4. One hard drive is the recording drive(Drive 1) and the other is the back-up drive(Drive 2).
    I accidently reversed my back-up process and replaced(not copied) folders on my main recording hard drive(Drive 1) with older back-up folders from my back-up hard drive(drive 2) during the back-up process. I lost current session folders and now only have older back-up sessions versions.Since I did this, I have left everything on, the computer,hard drives, everything.
    Is there any way to recover the files that I replaced on the external recording hard drive(Drive 1)?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

    *I select replace.
    Ouch.
    As for the rewriting of the file, it is possible that the actual physical sector is different, though directory scavenging won't find the old files due to the name of the replacement being the same.
    Data Rescue II can be run in a free demo that will allow you to see what is recoverable.
    The files may be there,, but then again, maybe not.
    If it were me, I'd try the demo and look through all the files that it pulls.
    You might get lucky.
    You'll need a large (about double capacity) hard drive to use as a location for the recovered files and scratch.
    If the data is irreplaceable, a data recovery service may be able to recover it, but will require sophisticated, expensive recovery techniques.
    Good luck!

    You can find the downloads for LabVIEW 2011 SP1 and LabVIEW FPGA Module 2011 SP1 at www.ni.com/donwloads
    Then sort by Software » LabVIEW (for the development environement) and Software » LabVIEW Add Ons (for the FPGA module). Or you can search for any product you desire. If your serial number is not valid for these products then you will only have access to the software for a short trial period. I would recommend checking with the adminstrator of your software license to see which versions you have access to.
    Knowledge Base Article titled "Where Can I Find the LabVIEW FPGA for Xilinx SPARTAN-3E XUP Driver?" has links at the bottom of the page which will take you to all the downloads we have available for the FPGA driver for Spartan 3E.

  • Error during generation of the WSDL:  BUILD FAILED java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/javadoc/Type

    When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
    As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml  that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
    I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:

  • Delete file Application Server

    Hi ...
    I have an application wrote with Forms Dev. ... Is it possible delete a file on the application server ??
    Is it also possible delete a file in the Application server by a stored procedure ??
    Thank's in advance

    It is also possible to implement a java procedure on the database being invoked with a PL/SQL wrapper class.
    In this way (and if used right) there is also granularity regarding the filestructure permissions given and it may be called during a Forms or other PL/SQL session.
    As it is a requirement in this post to delete file from the AS, the database instance holding the JAVA class needs to be installed on the Application Server itself (which is not recommended anyway). But the article below explains a more generic approach how to invoke shell commands from within an Oracle Instance.
    Be careful with this, because it really works ;)

  • How to delete files from time machine volume

    Before selling my old MacBook Pro, I had backed up all my data on to an external WD hard drive using Time Machine. I had since switched to a desktop but since I did not have any need for the MacBook Pro files at the time, I had put aside that WD hard drive. Recently, I wanted to clear some space on that external drive to make way for some of my present files. I drilled down in to Backups.backupdb and tried to delete files, but was met with the error "
    An error occurred.The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -5000.) Insufficient access privileges for operation".
    It did prompt me for a username and password before showing that message. I tried both my current user/pass as well as (what I remember to be) my old user/pass on the MacBook Pro. Both presented me with the same error message.
    I also did try to mount the drive as Time Machine on my present system, and then try to enter Time Machine and delete it from there. However, clicking on "Enter Time Machine ... " does nothing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Linc,
    my back-up data is managed by Time Machine; the actual data is on a second internal Hard Drive with a capacity of 1TB - not partitioned. I am using Time Machine and have access to all data backed up since Mavericks Clean Install but not the data prior to this date.
    When I open the 1TB drive in Finder I can see a folder "Backups.backupdb/Sigi's Mac Pro/ followed by many folders of backup dates going back to 2010-09-20-103441 and up to 2014-02-07-142414 all followed with folder Macintosh HD.  February 7th  2014 was the date of the clean install.
    These Backups are followed by backup date folder 2014-02-08-075554 with a subfolder of MacPro-320GB (this is the name I assigned to my Boot Drive during formatting; I suspect I should have assigned the same name as before ie. Macintosh HD) and 2014-02-11 with a subfolder Macintosh HD, these are the ones I get access to by way of Time Machine > Restore.
    Weird thing is on Febr 11 when I relised my possible mistake and renamed the Bootdrive back to what it was initially ie. Macintosh HD despite this I have access to all backup data since the Clean Install in both folders MacPro-320GB as well as Macintosh HD but not to any data prior to the Clean Install.
    Is there something that Time Machine knows and prevents access or is it simply a matter of renaming the subfolder 2014-02-08-07554/MacPro-320GB to ........./Macintosh HD?
    I like to restore selectively and not everything - It was hard work reinstalling apps that were supposed to be the troublemakers (ref my discussion on Maverick problems) but I now need to get onto data specific to some of these apps as well as other data I may have missed. Long story? Yes and sorry.

  • How do I delete files on my PC but save them in my ipod

    Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I've just bought a fifth generation ipod and I'm very much a newbie. I understand that the ipod automatically updates itself when I connect it to Itunes.
    If I delete files completely from Itunes and my hard drive to save space, but want to keep the tracks on my ipod, how do I prevent them being from being deleted from the ipod when I reconnect it to Itunes?
    I know it's something to do with the 'synchronisation'. I've tried to find something on the 'help' information pages but I just can't get my head around it! Thanks.
    Evesham   Windows XP   Service Pack 2

    Connect you ipod to your computer and then in the ipod settings select to manually manage your ipod, then when you connect you ipod you just add new songs to your ipod yourself and songs you have removed off your hard drive will stay on you ipod. BEWARE if you restore your ipod you will lose the songs you have deleted off your hard drive

  • Urzent: Delete files in FTP server using FTP receiver adapter

    Hi Experts,
    We are doing 2 asyncronous scenarios. frst scenario should delete existing file and place the request file. Second scenario should pick(delete) response file and delete request file it placed also.
    Scenario 1 : File(NFS) to FTP  (Asynchronous)
    Scenario 2: FTP to NFS  (Asynchronous)
    Scenario 1: (Receiver FTP Adapter )
    step-1: PI has to delete all existing files in FTP server
    step-2: PI has to place Request file in FTP
    Scenario-2: ( Sender FTP Adapter)
    step-1: PI has to Delete request file i FTP server
    Step-2: PI has to pick and delete response file in FTP server
    Doubts:
    How can we do above steps in PI
    Thanks,
    Murali

    Hi Krish - For scenario -1 You have to make use of the OS commands to delete the files on FTP server before placing the request file.
              -> write some script which wil connect to the FTP server and delete the files.
              -> call that script from the file adapter "using execute OS commands" option
    For scenario -2 :
    pick both the files(request and response) and set the processing mode to delete..
    during the receiver determination, process only request files(based on filename/content)

  • Deleted files recovery

    Is there a way to recover a deleted files (picture) ?  It is still on my apple tv and on my iphoto library (but no possible to view the large size).

    If you deleted photos stored in your iPhoto Library from the Finder, you have left iPhoto with just the thumbnails. There's no easy recovering from that if you don't have backups.
    What generation Apple TV do you have? I have a 3rd gen Apple TV, but am not familiar with the older models. The 3rd gen Apple TV does not have any kind of storage for photos. It can use photos from your iCloud account's Photo Stream. Is that photo still in the Photo Stream? If not, it's possible that the Apple TV is simply displaying a cached version of that photo, but I doubt there's any way to extract that cached photo from the Apple TV.
    If the photo is well and truly gone, and you don't have backups, see Recovering deleted files.

  • Windows 8.1 installation Keep personal files option - does it delete files in drives other than c

    i am installing windows 8.1 . I am not getting an option to select custom installation. Does this delete files in my drives other than C?
    I want to install windows in c drive and want to keep the files in my D and E drives. What to do?

    Hi,
    No matter which method do you use, it would not affect your D and E drive if you don't format them during your installation.
    Which version of Windows was running on your computer now? "Upgrade" option is only available when a supported version of Windows is already running on the computer.
    Please refer to the following table to check if you could keep some file:

  • Why does Java have so much trouble with deleting files

    So, I've been doing alot more code on the file-level and have been noticing that Java is really terrible at deleting files. This should be rather straightforward, but the delete method can fail in so many ways, it's unbelievable. Even with taking special care to close all streams, it will sometimes just not do it, or even return a "Yes I've deleted it" result and the file is still there! (deleteOnExit() suffers the same affliction)
    This problem is even scuttling the otherwise trusty Ant, which is really annoying. Ever seen this? "BUILD FAILED: Could not delete 'myproject.jar'" So any Ant-driven automated build-and-test process can fail because of this super-avoidable error. (We have to code a pre-build-jar-deletion shell script, which is annoying when jars are added/deleted/renamed for whatever reason.)
    Does anyone know the reason for this? I'm really curious.
    Maybe, in 1.5, they will come out with "File.crushAndDestroyWithMercilessPrejudice()". I'd use it all of the time! :)

    I had the same problem when I was working with JAI. I had about a half million images that I made a viewer for, which would allow our users to do away with microfiche. Project worked great, but the files wouldn't delete off the user box (Win2K). I checked everything and they just would not delete--windows would not acknowlege the resources had been released by Java.
    I finally took a lesson from MS developers and said: "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" I wrote it into the manual that it was a cache feature and would speed-up access to the images, yet delete the old ones (which it did, any images that were not accessed during the session would delete just fine, while any that were accessed would still be there next time for local access rather than hitting the network for them. The cache turned out to be one of the great features of the application.
    On the other hand, I've not had any problems deleting files from Linux.

  • Deleting Files in MacBookPro - Yosemite sending "FREE SPACE" to "Other"

    I have the weirdest problem.
    I'm running a Macbook Pro Late 2013 with OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
    The MAC came with a 500GB SSD Drive.
    I have about 60GB of free space on my Mac. I need to restore a large file that is about 60GB.
    So I thought to myself, "I'll just delete files I don't need".
    I went ahead and deleted a parallels VM that was about 60GB in size. But I was shocked when I checked "About this Mac": no free space had been added!
    I went ahead and did all the usual stuff. Empty trash, restart the MAC, repair permissions using "Disk Utility", restart the mac again, - but no matter what I did, I could not get the 60GB of free space from the file I had just deleted.
    I downloaded OmniDisk Sweeper and Disk Doctor, but none of these applications where able to either get my 60GB back, or at least point me to where the 60GB has gone.
    So I decided to disable my time machine. This usually gets rid of the backup cache. "About this Mac" showed that I would get about 50GB free space by doing this. After doing this, I was shocked to see that my free space had only changed negligibly - from 60GB to 64GB. Deleting 50GB of backups only added 4GB to my free space.
    However during all of this, I noticed my "Other" data in "About this Mac" had grown considerably from about 90GB to about 206GB. It seems to me that all that space I have free'd up has somehow gone into the "Other" category instead of going to the "Free Space" category.
    Please note my trash can is completely empty, and I have repaired permissions using Disk Utility at least twice with no effect.
    I need to get my free space back so I can restore my virtual machine and get back to work.
    Please help!!!

    How much space does it say is available when you click on the HDD icon on your desktop COMMAND + I?
    Hoe does this compare with OmniDiskSweeper?
    You might have to reindex Spotlight  if you are seeing inconsistent amounts.
    Ciao.

  • Re-sizing photos from recovered deleted files....

    Hi all,
    Recently I had the bad experience of a "Tech" deleting all my photos, documents, tunes etc, when he reinstalled the OS during a repair visit. Yeah, I know!
    Anyway, I got the computer to Mac Medics and they were able to recover most or all of the deleted files. Yay...
    While going through the photo files, I found, so far, most of the pictures that I cherished the most. But, they had been shrunk down to small 160x120kb pics.
    All of these pics that I took were at least 1000kb or larger. Some had been reduced to just the faces and were of poor resolution.
    I am wondering if there is any way to restore them to proper size? I looked at the "revert to original" option, but it is not highlighted on any of the photos.
    Is there any tricks to restoring the recovered photos or am I .....
    I have to tell you also, I do not like the new iphotos. I liked the photos on one screen that you could look at at scroll down.
    Thanks,
    Brian.

    Sorry Brian, but they didn't recover your photos, they've recovered the thumbnails that iPhoto uses for display in the iPhoto Window.

    No, in a word, there isn't. You cannot "revert" because these are now your "originals".
    Is there any tricks to restoring the recovered photos or am I .....
    You could ask them to scan that drive again and ask them to recover image files +only larger than 400kb+.
    I have to tell you also, I do not like the new iphotos.
    That's iPhoto.

    Have you tried Photos view?

  • StorageFile.DeleteAsync() delete file fail without any exception sometimes.

    I develop a test tool to Write a file, then delete it, over and over again.
    Using "await StorageFile.DeleteAsync()" to delete file , sometimes, it run successfully without any exception, but the file to be deleted wasn't deleted as expect. Why the API " StorageFile.DeleteAsync" doesn't work?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Code is as this:
     private async void SDCardFile(String basename)
                while (true)
                    if (this.isStop)
                        return;
                    Boolean isWirteSuc = await WriteSDCardFile(fileName, writeText);//writefile
                    if (isWirteSuc)
                    else
                    Boolean isDeleteSuc = await DeleteSDCardFile(fileName);  //deletefile
                    if (isDeleteSuc )
                    else
     private async Task<bool> DeleteSDCardFile(String filename)
                try
                    StorageFolder externalDevices = KnownFolders.RemovableDevices;
                    StorageFolder sdCard = (await externalDevices.GetFoldersAsync()).FirstOrDefault();
                    StorageFile storageFile = await sdCard.CreateFileAsync(filename, CreationCollisionOption.OpenIfExists);
                    await storageFile.DeleteAsync();
                    return true;
                catch (Exception ex)
                    return false;
    I use a timer to stop the test after 12 hours, during this test, most of the file delete success, but some failed, it still return "true"  from "DeleteSDCardFile(String filename)", so there is no exception, but the file is not deleted,
    I can find these files on SD card.
    Look forward to your answer, thanks for your comments.
