RoboHTML.exe and WHOffice.exe hang at "Windows Installer"

When we try to start RoboHelp either with RoboHTML.exe or
with WHOffice.exe, it brings up a window labelled "Windows
Installer" with "Preparing to install..." and a Cancel buton
inside. It never gets beyond this and if I press Cancel, the window
locks and has to be killed in Task Manager. I have tried everything
I can think of including uninstalling all the X5 updates,
uninstalling the entire X5 product, deleting its Program Files
directory, rebooting and reinstalling RoboHelp Office X5 from CD
using my key starting with RHO13. I've also tried updating the
Windows installer. The problem occurs even under different logins
(all with administrative privileges). Any idea what could be the
problem?

Actually, I installed the cleanup utility and after
uninstalling RH, there was no listing for RH in the utility. Maybe
I don't know the way its supposed to be used. Are you supposed to
run the cleanup on RH after RH is installed?
As additional info, there are several other Adobe products
installed on this machine including:
Acrobat 8.1.2 Standard
Illustrator CS3
Photoshop 6.0
Shockwave Player 11
SVG Viewer 3.0
Winsoft Linguistics Plugin
As well as Pinnacle Studio 12, Picasa 2 and ProDAD to name a
few other installed programs.
Don't know if any of those could be causing the problem.

  • My computer froze and I had no choice but to turn it off. When I turned it back on, it would no longer open iTunes. It says "error 7 (windows error 14001). iTunes said to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes. Windows installer won't work.

I could not uninstall and reinstall iTunes because now Windows Installer isn't working either. Tried using "System Restore" from a backup, but still didn't fix problem. Tried online purchase of registry cleanup ("Error End"), but that didn't solve problem either.
    How can I get iTunes to open? Any suggestions for getting Windows Installer to work? Thanks!

  • 10g (10.2.01) setup/java.exe hangs on Windows 2000 SP4.

    Hi all,
    I'm currently having an issue with a 10g install on Windows 2000 (SP4) hosted on a Windows Virtual Machine.
    I remote to this machine using PCAnywhere.
    When I run setup.exe it just hangs on the java.exe process.
    I have run the setup with a -debug option and am not seeing anything out of the ordinary.
    I have also checked the the log and it does not seem to contain any errors.
    I have run through the 10g pre installation requirements and don't believe that is a problem as the
    machine and OS meets all the criteria.
    I have researched a similar setup.exe/java.exe hanging issues and have tried some of those solutions to no avail.
    For instance moving the 10g the install folder to C: drive and confirming there are no spaces in the install path.
    Increasing the JRE memory allocation to 1024 in oraparam.ini

    As Daniel stated on his previous post, this is not supported from the official oracle point of view, so if you are implementing this for production environments, even if it worked, you would be on your own. However, this should work. Check if you have any other java environment on the scope of the PATH environment variable. A virtual machine is from the OS configuration point of view the same as a physical machine, if the PATHs are scrambled and if you are accessing different versions of JRE at install time, this won't work, and the first symptom is a frozen java session.

    I down loaded Adobe Premief Elments 9 and now I get a Windows Inataller Pop Up each time I start my computer and it cannot be deoeted.
    I has the following message;  "Windows installer',  The feature you are trying to use is on a netword resource that is unavailable. It futher states,

    None of these options have been successful over the previous two weeks.

  • Setup.exe hangs

    Hi all,
    I successfully downloaded the complete Adobe CS4 Design Premium files (4.5GB). Now after clicking on the setup.exe, nothing happens. I see in the Task Manager that the setup.exe is listed and consumes some 17K of memory, but nothing happens. I closed all open windows. Nothing. I am stuck.
    My configuration: Windows XP, SP2, German

    I have this same problem with any Adobe install EXCEPT Flash Player Plug-in, I have tried the suggested and I have also tried Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, I have uninstalled all previous versions and traces of past Adobe products. Other installs work just fine it seems it is an Adobe specific problem. I have all updates and Windows XP SP3 x86 I run Anti-virus/Anti-Spyware/Anti-Malware/Registry Cleaners regularly so it is not a question of infection...Ive run out of ideas and am close to reformatting. Please help, I've been searching out a fix for the past month or two.

    I have the same problem. Installing Itunes 7 on my XP laptop. The installer comes with the error, then no choice but to quit the installation. It's even a network share I haven't used in a year. What's the solution please. It's driving me mad... I really need to install this.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Installation Failed. - Error While Locating Source (Windows Installer)

    Hey Guys,
    Urgent question here:  I was trying to install SP3 for Exchange 2010. Unfortunately it failed on the install (all pre-requisites checked and passed). The problem: Windows Installer couldn't find a the exchangeserver.msi file. This happened immediately
    after setup stopped the services.
    I tried re-downloading the service pack and reinstalling, I got the same error. Anytime I selected the file using browse it failed and re-prompted me.
    Error:
    "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "exchangeserver.msi" in the box below"
    So here is what I did:
    1) I reset all the services to automatic (the same way as before)
    2) Rebooted the server
    3) All Service started
    4) DAG replication is working
    I am going to work on figuring out how to fix the issue, however will this be a problem? will there be any data corruption? am I safe to let the server sit until I can open a ticket (if needed) ?

    In order to resolve it, we could click the Browse button in the dialog box, locate the ExchangeServer.msi file, and then click OK
    to continue the installation. The ExchangeServer.msi file is located on the Exchange Server 2010 installation media。

  • Bootcamp Windows Installer won't boot properly on rBMP late 2013

    I have been redirected to this community. I will repost the same question I asked in the mackbook pro community. I am new to Apple Support Communities, I hope this is okay for me to ask the question here again.

    I just bought my MBP Retina 13" Late 2013 last week. It came with Mavericks 10.9, and I have since updated it to 10.9.1.
    I have installed Windows 7 64bit using Bootcamp, and ran into a situation, which I hope the experts here could give me a hand.
    I used the first two options in Boot Camp Assistant (BCA) and sucessfully created a Bootcamp Windows Installer for Windows 7 64bit on a USB Thumb Drive (USB 3.0). Then I launched Boot Camp Assistant again, and selected the last option to install Windows 7 64 bit on the bootcamp partition, the installation went through successfully. Both Windows 7 and the bootcamp drivers are installed, and I am able to dual boot OS X and Windows properly.
    However, if I try to launch Bootcamp Windows 7 USB Installer created using BCA as described in the above by holding down <option> key while rebooting, and select the USB device lableled as 'Windows', Windows 7 Installer starts (in BIOS boot mode, I believe) and then it freezes after it gets to the language selection screen, the mackbook no longer responds to either the trackpad or the keyboard.
    In other words, this Windows 7 USB Installer boots properly when launched by BCA's third option. However, this USB Installer does not boot properly when launched by selecting 'Windows' after holding down <option> key while rebooting. What am I doing wrong here?

    I did create a Recovery Disk from inside Windows 7 this weekend following your suggestion. Unfortunately, this has the same problem as the installer.
    However, USB Installer I created for Windows 8.1 could boot properly both in BIOS boot mode or EFI boot mode. This Windows 8.1 USB Installer is created using the standard procedure for the BCA; the only difference from the Windows 7 USB Installer is that I used Windows 8.1 ISO instead of Windows 7 ISO.
    With this Windows 8.1 USB Installer, I am able to access the BOOTCAMP partition and perform necessary operations to fix startup issues, and perform backup and restore using the native Windows tools for the BOOTCAMP partition. And no need to spend $30 on WinClone

  • App packaged with Flash CS6 windows installer can't be installed offline because of missing AIR RT

    I've build an Application in Flash CS6 and AIR SDK 3.5 for desktop and packaged it as a windows installer. When i try to install it on a windows 8 pro tablet with no internet connection (in my case an Acer Iconia w5) a window pops up, telling me that i need adobe air and i should download it at www.adobe.com/go/getair_de. I thought the AIR runtime is packaged inside the windows installer, so you don't need AIR preinstalled on your PC. I've added a screenshot of my setting:

    I think what you're looking for is the captive runtime.  For that you'll want to select "Application with runtime embedded".  This does however mean that you'll need to use your own "installer".  This could be as simple as zipping the folder up or just copying it over.

  • How to recover HD space from 2 failed Bootcamp/windows installs...?

    Hi,
    I'm running OSX ver. 10.6.2 . I had 2 failed attempts to installing windows XP-Pro on Bootcamp.. 3rd one worked.. but the initial 2, left HD wasted space. not part of the OSX installation and not part of the windows installation.. they are both a little over 150 Mgs. I know, I know.. not much. but it bothers me..
    Anyone knows how I can recover that space into the OSX partition?
    The windows installation is using the basic 5 G's.

    you can try repairing the OS X partition with disk utility. boot from the snow leopard dvd and use disk utility there for the task. you should have done that after the failed windows installs. then you can try resizing the OS X partition to cover the missing free space. but if that does not work i would suggest you don't force the issue and leave it be. you can easily brick the OS X partition doing that.

    There is something wrong with your Windows installation, and that is preventing proper installation now of LINK. While written for older BB devices models and the Desktop Software, this KB might point you in the right direction:

    However, please clarify...in your profile for this forum, you list a Bold 9000 as your device, yet are not asking about the installation of LINK. LINK is not used for legacy devices.

    An .exe file means you have the windows version. Go get the mac version:
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 12, 11, 10
    but I hope you have a mac serial number.

    Can someone please advise as to why mtm.exe has basically become unusable to our QA team.  More time is spent end tasking the application and rebooting than any good it is doing.  We are consistently getting waiting for applications under test
    (reason for this unknown) and the test runner locks up completely on any dynamic xceed control.  We are using VS 2013.4

  • Java.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows

    We are running win2000, with jre 1.4 and getting the following message at a particular point in our program:
    <b>"java.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."</b>
    I have 2 questions:
    1) does anyone know what would cause this?
    2) does anyone know where this log file is generated to?
