Robotic noise instead of audio coming out

Hi all
I just set up my first iChat AV 'chat' with a friend... I have an iMac Intel Core Duo and she has a Macbook Power PC G4.... she doenst have a camera, but I do and she can see me when we connect, and she can hear me OK, but all I hear from her is a blurring noise when she speaks. All her set up is correct with microphone, etc.
Any ideas? thanks

Difficult to say with that information.
Check System Preferences > Sound > Output tab has the correct output for you.
Also of you have options them go to iChat > Preferences > Video section and the Output option drop down if it there and set the same output.
She should check the same places but the Input tab in Sound and make sure the "right" mic is selected and the same in the Video Section Microphone drop down.

No audio coming out of MacBook Pro Early 2011 with Mountain Lion

I just updated my Early 2011 MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion and I am having no problems except for the fact that I have no audio coming out of my computer.. when I turn it up it says that it's all the way up but theres a circle with a line through it like it's muted or something like that. When I click the mute button on my keyboard the line goes through the little speaker picture like it usually does and the cicle with the line is still there but then when I unmute it and turn it up it's still all the way up with the circle and line. Any ideas?

Same issue with the same model. I restarted and the problem went away. Hopefully it will stay away.

No audio coming out of headphone port

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can give me insight as to what's going on with my headphone jack.
Basically, my Klipsch speakers that I had hooked up to the headphone jack on my iMac for the longest time stopped working. So I thought the speakers had a short in it, nope, they work when I hook the mini jack from them up to my iPhone.
So I tried some other headphones in the iMac's port. They don't work either.
The built in speakers in the iMac works but not the headphone jack.
What happens is, I'll hear a fuzzy sound coming out of the headphones or speakers and every so often I'll hear a "pop" out of the speakers while hooked up to the imacs headphone port, but when I actually go to play any media, or just when I know I'm supposed to be hearing sounds, nada.
I also made sure the speakers weren't muted or turned down or the audio settings on the imac.
Now, what's interesting is, the Apple earbuds with the volume controls can adjust the iMacs volume setting while plugged in, but...no audio!
I'm really afraid the part of the audio board that actually outputs audio has to have a short in it.
I'm hoping not, anyone have any thoughts?

Double check your sound output settings in System Preferences. "Line-Out" should be selected when the Klipsch speakers are plugged in to the headphone jack.
If this still doesn't work, schedule a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store. If you purchased AppleCare with your iMac, they'll be able to fix any hardware issue for free.

I had the same problem until tonight. Played with ring tones, do not disturb, volume, and everything else posted. What I found is that when you go to sounds/text tone, there are two types of tones in the scrolling menu. The top set of tones are for alert tones and the bottom set are ringtones. They are separated by a gray bar that states their purpose. Many of the tones are the same name. You need to set your text alert in the Ringtones and reminders, alarms, and such in alerts. The weird thing about this menu is when you go to sounds/ringtone the menu is reversed. Mine works in locked mode or unlocked now. I have an Iphone 6 8.1.2. My problem started after my latest OS upgrade. Hope this helps.

Digital noise instead of audio from logic/garageband

I'm running Logic Pro 7.1.1 on a dual 2.5 G5 through a MOTU 896HD interface. I haven't updated anything recently and all of a suddenly instead of audio, I'm getting a high-pitched squeal, around 10k, slightly delayed. I've tried different sample rates, rebooting, even speaker calibration in sound preferences with the same results. iTunes playback still works fine. Anyone encounter this before? help?

Reset the unit. Haven't tried this myself, but someone told me:
You need to push the two rotary controllers while powering up. Keep pushing. Wait for a bit. (I think until the lights come on again).

Audio Coming Out Differently Each Time

Hi,
I have a song that I am using for a slideshow as well as a voice recording of someone. I took the original WMA file and converted with Sountrack Pro and Quicktime 7 Pro, both to AIFF. When I place it in the timeline, the audio works and then it comes out with around a 5 second delay on the right speaker as well as other similar stuff...
I thought maybe the audio rate is off, but I recorded the audio of my mac when playing the song, using ScreenFlow 2 and when I exported as an AIFF and then imported to FCP, I had the same problem. I copied everything that I'v done into a new sequence, it worked for a while and then a different problem aroused, such as the audio playing back a lot slower than the original file.
I'v tried taking the original WMA file and using that instead of the AIFF file and I'v even tried converting to MP3, but I different problems with the audio, it never seems to play correctly...
* All the audio that is played outside of FCP works just fine

Let's be precise with the language in the larger interest of people searching for answers to their issues.
Your problem was related to something that was corrupted or out of wack specific to your installation and hardware. A bug is a repeatable software error that happens to many users and is inherent in the program itself. If you reinstall the software and it works, you most assuredly don't have a bug.

Trouble With Audio Coming Out of Sync

I am having trouble with audio sync
I am using .mov files of myself talking however I also record audio of myself talking as well. The audio files record as mp3 however I convert them to aiff files in order to better synch them in FCP
I have an audio sound as an in point in order to better sync them and the syncing is perfect when i start.
My files are about an hour and a half long and 20 minutes or so the audio starts to come out of sync and my mouth becomes a half second or so behind the audio. I record this audio live so there is no delay between my speaking and my recording voice but the longer the video goes the more out of sync I become.
My syncing method that I use is "Merge Clips" at the in points.
Has anyone else experienced this?

what are the settings of your timeline? Look at the sequence settings.

Audio coming out of sync......

Hey guys, So I have a macbook pro 15 quad i7 2.8 with 16gb ram and 768gb flash drive...
just recently audio in big sessions is playing back out of sync ( vocals off beat) sometime by a little , sometime by a lot.
It starts after I have been working for a while. very annoying, even bouncing offlilne doesnt help once it starts!
My hd meter is very low, getting no warning errors, dap metter very low, set the i/o to 1026....
not sure what to do!
I am running apollo twin with uad plugs also
any fixes for this?

No Audio Coming Out From AU Instrument Plugins In HD Hardware...

I get audio out for TDM Instrument plugins but, no audio out for AU Instrument plugins in Logic Pro 8. I then put a Loop on a Direct TDM track but, no audio. I will try same thing with a TDM track once I find out how to do it.

You need PT 7.4 to run LS8 on TDM hardware. I'm surprised its working at all! Dont ask me when we'll see 7.4 though, at these prices digi should be pi**ed off.... /erik

I have been experiencing a red light coming out the audio jack and no audio coming out of my Mid 2009 13.3" Macbook pro. I was wondering if Applecare would cover whatever this is?. I am covered until september 2012. Thanks

Is there any way to keep the music playing through the headphones connected through the headphone jack, while also playing the music through a bluetooth device, such as speakers - so the audio is coming out of both devices simultaneously?

When I connect my bluetooth speakers, the sound stops coming out of the headphones (connected via the hardwire jack), and then comes back when I turn off the bluetooth speakers. I would like to have audio coming out of both...
Anyone?

Thanks Kiwi. It doesn't make sense to me though, as that would seem to be only a simple change in the operating system, not a hardware 'necessity'.

Noise coming out of Airport Speakers once Airfoil installed

Hiya,
I installed Airfoil and Reemote Server today in order to make all the audio work with my Aiport speakers.
It worked fine through Safari for about 10 mins and then I started getting this white noise sound coming out of the speakers.
I am trying to figure out why.
It stills plays whatever it is (mixcloud, youtube ) but one the top of the noise.
It works fine from my Iphone Itunes but the problem is from my Mac.
Any help?

On the Airfoil for Mac site, it says that the demo will work fine for 10 minutes and then it will generate noise over the music. The license for the software is $25.

Buzzing Sound coming out of audio port on MacBook Pro

There is a buzzing/electronic noise coming out of my headphone port. It is not the humming sound that usually happens when I play audio. It is very loud. How can I fix this?

Also, for some reason it gets quieter when my hands are close to the computer. When I move away it makes noise.

I'm trying to make a poster and invert part of it but the black is coming out as a beige colour instead of white.

I can't figure out why this is happening - I've remade this document from scratch twice and each time it did this. I made a new adjustment layer with an invert mask on it, and instead of the black coming out as white, it came out as this beige colour. I tried to fix it myself, but was unable - I adjusted the colour profile, changed the colour, as well as fooled around in the menus trying to figure it out. I've inserted a screenshott of my workspace, as it was when the problem happened. Any help would be appreciated!

Ideapad S400u - Noise coming out from the headphone jack

I also have this annoying noise coming out from my headphone.
It happens while the notebook is charging/plugged.
Could anyone help me?

Can you describe this noise? Is it coming from the area around the headphone port? If you plug headphones into the port, does the noise go away or change? Is the outlet you are using for charging grounded?
