Robotic Sounds at End of Songs

So on my new laptop, nearly all of the songs I play, the ending goes into an static/robotic sound of the song. Like the song is still playing, you can hear it, but more robotic like. Any help fixing this problem?

Hey deadlylaugh,
If you are having an issue with iTunes for Windows playing your songs with poor sound quality at the end of songs, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Clicking/skipping at end of songs

When I import cds into the new iTunes I notice a clicking/skipping at end of songs. It's not on all my cds, but most. Seems to happen more on the newer cds. Never had this problem before.
    It's driving me nuts.
Any ideas --should I just wait for an update?
    Thanks.

When everything else fails, you may want to try running this fix from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
to uninstall all traces of any versions of Reader. Then you can perform a clean install of the version you want,

  • End of songs are cut off

I have several tracks that are cut off with 4-5 seconds left. The next song immediately starts.
Anybody else have this problem and now what to do with it?

I think in iTunes, you might have changed your settings. The settings allow you to select when to end your song, crossfade your songs etc. Go and check your iTunes preferences.

  • Re: end of song icon when editing in GB-track markings

Strange thing--I followed the Bullets & Bones'Converting LPs to iTunes article through to making the split on the track, created a New Basic Track, selected its Solo button, and dragged the track to the new track. But the end of song marker (EoS) didn't appear! So, when I sent the track to iTunes, the entire recording was sent instead of just the track I wanted. I had made sure that I clicked the right thing and moved the playhead out of the way, but that little purple triangle didn't appear.
Is there something the article (a very good one, BTW) forgot to tell me?

The End of Song marker probably still sits at the rightmost position it had (it doesn't move left if you shorten the song). So drag it back in, or even better, use the yellow cycle ribbon for finer adjustment.

  • My iPod Classic is cutting off the ends of songs; what's up with this?

My iPod Classic is cutting off the ends of songs...just silence. The play indicator shows that there's more data there but it's just blank. The songs play fine on iTunes and the data on my PC (Windows 7, iTunes 11.02.26). And it's not always the same song... It's like random. So it's got to be a bug in the iPod Classic firmware. Any help from Apple? Get a Zune?

Is it always the same songs that get cut off?  So the question is, after you do a Restore, when you re-sync songs back to the iPod, is it always the same songs that get cut off?  Or are they different songs each time?  Try doing a Restore and re-sync several times...
If they are the same songs, that points to a problem with the song files.  Maybe there is data corruption on your computer's hard drive, that caused the song files to become corrupted in a way that iTunes on the computer can still handle, but the iPod's software cannot.  The corrupted songs stay the same.
If they are different songs, that points to a problem on the iPod.  If a Restore does not fix the problem, then it may be data corruption caused by the iPod's hard drive becoming unreliable.  When you do a re-sync after Restore, the data is not being stored properly on the iPod due to a hardware problem.  It randomly affects different songs each time during the re-sync

you will probably need to recreate your itunes library to get the complete song. view the article on how at apple.com/support and search for HT1451

  • In my shuffle 4g the songs not playing properly most of the times it gives some kind of sound and stop playing songs.

in my shuffle 4g the songs not playing properly most of the times it gives some kind of sound and stop playing songs.

First, make sure the headphones plug is completely pushed into the headphones jack.  Because the jack serves multiple functions, the fit may be tighter than expected (especially if you have the Apple EarPods).
Also, try using the headphones with another device, to rule out bad headphones.  Or try another set of (known working) headphones with the shuffle.
Are you using older headphones that have remote control buttons?  Not the latest EarPods and not the immediately previous version of white Apple earbuds.  Or non-Apple headphones with remote control buttons.  It's possible they are not compatible and interfering with the shuffle's operation.  Any standard headphones (with no buttons) should work.
If that does not help, you can try doing a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to defaut settings.  If a software (or settings) problem on the shuffle is the cause, the Restore should fix it.
Otherwise, if the Restore does not help, it may be a hardware problem.  If it has been less than one year since purchase, it is under warranty.

  • Itunes 10.5 robot sound

Just updated to 10.5 getting nasty robot sound. Windows 7 SP1 SoundMax integrated digital audio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, turned off itunes EQ, also, reset audio driver and toggled default format in audio driver. still not working. Youtube, VLC media player, and Audacity works.

I've been working on this problem for a couple of days and have a work around, but it is not pretty!  I've tried everything I could think of including uninstalling using Revo Uninstaller to remove all the crud and a fresh install.  I also downgraded and then upgraded again.  The downgrade fixed the problem but it came back after upgrading again.  I am also running WinXP as others above.
For now the only fix is to downgrade and stick with the old version.  Unfortunately, the downgrade is not simple because the library file in ...My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl cannot downgrade.  If you have an old backup you can use this.  Otherwise you must delete it and allow iTunes to rebuild it from scratch.  This means reimporting the entire music collection.
I have gon back to v 10.2.2 which I know was stable from 6 months ago...
    - Uninstall iTunes
    - Remove ...My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
    - Download iTunesSetup1022.exe  (or another old version) from oldapps.com and install
      - Run iTunes
      - When the popup "A new version of iTunes is available...", check "Do not ask me again" and select "Don't Download"
      - Re-import your music collection
    Enjoy!

  • Sound when selecting a song

There is a sound when I change songs or go to a playlist or when on the iTunes store. Does anyone else have this problem? Can it be shut off?

There are users reporting the process being stuck and it might have to do with apple turning on match to other countries today.
Have you tried turning match off and letting it remove all none downloaded songs and then turning match back on to see if it fixes it?
Sometimes turn match off and then back on fixes some things, but not always.
Especially if it is working on your other devices, it has to be with the one your trying to get the song downloaded onto.

  • Stubborn End of Song Marker

I divided a file/song into multiple regions using the "Split" command in the Edit menu, then saved each split region as a new file for burning tracks onto a CD. However, when I move the End of Song marker (the sideways purple triangle) to the end of the new region, it pops back to its original position, even after I do a save after moving it. This leaves about 50+ minutes after the region has played that there is silence.
For example, when I burn to a CD, I can only get one created song onto a CD because when exporting, it thinks it is a 60 minute song.
I've tried saving as a different file, copying and pasting into a new file, creating new tracks and moving the audio to the new tracks. Nothing works. I have done this with other songs with no problems. Any suggestions?

The EOS marker does strange things sometimes. Use the cycle region ("yellow ribbon") to exactly mark the section that you want to export!

  • Ipod Clipping Ends Of Songs

My ipod seems to be clipping the end of songs that I have imported from my MacBook recently. The songs play in full on the MacBook though.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to sort this problem?

Try using the Restore button in iTunes to ERASE the iPod and initialize the iPod's software, as a first step. Then re-sync your iPod to your iTunes library. See if the problem still recurs.

  • How do I mark the end of  song?

I have taken parts of a song from iTunes and added a voice-over to it. I created a fade out for the last part of the song, and using Share, exported the song into iTunes. My mp3 in iTunes has about 4 seconds of silence at the end of it. How do I eliminate that? I thought that went the fade went to the bottom and I clicked stop, that the file would end. Is there a marker (or something else?) in Garageband to drag to indicate exactly where you want the track to end?
    Joe

technically, the EoS marker should end a song ( http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/GBFAQ.html#eos ), but it's been a little flaky between versions, AND for some users, so while that too is in the FAQ, i only point to it if someone asks about it specifically. the "exact Length" entry is the most solid (and at least somewhere, in at least one version of the help text, it does appear. i haven't trolled the latest help file to know for sure if it's there or not)
    glad it helped, enjoy.

  • HT204406 am having issues with songs playing in there entirety.  song starts playing and then half way stops and starts playing the second song of say a minute or so and then no sound until end of second song.   it then starts to play third song and it do

any one having issues with songs playing in there entirety using itunes match?  plays parts of songs and skips and starts playing second song.  part and then keeps playing with no music.  does this on every set of songs.

I'm having this issue on my iPod and now none of my songs on iTunes will play. Not fix yet though. Have you had any luck?

  • 20 seconds from end of song, sometimes a "click"

I am hearing a single "click" which happens apparently at random, about 0% of the time, when I play a song. The click always happens precisely 20 seconds from the end of a song, if it happens at all. It can happen with any song from the MP3s on my hard dri've. I never had this problem until I installed Vista. It can play a song fine on one pass, then click the next time I play it. Or not. It's random, for all I can determine. It's also driving me nuts.
I have X-Fi Platinum on Vista 32 bit. Newest driver from Creative is installed: (SBXF_PCDVT_LB_2_5_0004)
Please save me from the annoying click... I'm totally stuck for what to do.
    Lisa

You're using Windows Media Player, I presume?
That's a result of the Visualization. If you change it to no visualization the click will magically disappear.
A way to get both visualizations and no click is to install the latest version of Winamp. To get good sound on it, copy the dsound.dll from the Creative Alchemy folder to the Winamp program folder. In Winamp options, output plugins, direct sound output plugin, check to enable hardware acceleration and on the other tab there check to enable cpu frequency scaling.
Run the Winamp visualizations and there's no click.
I just got used to the click as I kind of like the visualizations in Windows Media Player. I alternate between that and Winamp for my mp3 listening.
Oh, I forgot. Run Winamp as an administrator all the time until they come out with an updated version that can get along with UAC. It's got to write to the Programs folder and the registry to save its settings and things. I just right clicked the winamp shortcut and on the compatiblility tab for both all users and the current user clicked run as administrator. I did the same thing to the winampa.exe in the Winamp program folder. You'll just get a UAC prompt whenever you open Winamp. Not a big deal until they design a hook into UAC so it'll ask permission for that stuff.
