ROKR not showing up on iTunes, only on desktop

I was in the middle of my first transfer, when iTunes got stuck somehow during the transfer of a song. All of a sudden, the program dissapeared off the screen and I got the error message about hitting the eject button for the device instead of just unplugging the cable, but the icon was gone, too.
I shut down the whole computer and disconnected the cable. Now, whenever I try to reconnect, the icon shows up on the desk top, but iTunes won't read it.
I've downloaded iTunes, Mac, and ROKR software updates and NOTHING is working. Anyone have an idea? I've been working on this for over three hours now.

Try reformatting the flash memory card on the phone. From the main menu, go to Settings, then Phone Status, then Storage Devices, then select Card and press the center Menu key, then choose Format. This will erase the entire contents of the memory card, which hopefully will fix the problem with iTunes.

    I appreciate that re-downloading is only available in the US and then only with certain content. However content that cannot be re-downloaded is not offered for purchase on the Apple TV.

    ITunes doesn't list the phone and it's not visible on the desktop. The phone says it is connected as storage device, but I can see it only at the profiler. Can anybody help me?

    Hi guys, this rokr thing's been drivin me nuts for like 1 month now. Same problem: neither itunes nor mac os 10.4.7 recognizing the phone memory or the memory card itself, no matter what option i chosed in the settings.
    Did you know what i did? I just bought another USB cable, et voilà... Solved riddle. The problem with these motorola phones with the adaptor like theese is that the connectors inside come loose. Just think about it, do you remember the phone accidentally fall, even once while chargin?.... By the way, once i connected my rokr to the new USB cable, i've started noticing that rokr didn't connect so well so i had to un-plug it and plug it back into its own port. The cable here in europe costs something like € 10,00, it should be something like $8,00 for you guys. It's worth the shot, don't you think?

    If they don't show on your purchase history on your account then have you have you added or changed your credit card details on your account - when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) ?     I would like to delete a number of podcasts from my iPhone. They do not show up in iTunes and when I pull the arrow on the phone it does not give me a delete option. I am using a Windows 7 PC. Recently I had to restore my computer, when I first reconnected my iPhone I thought it might sync it and wipe out everything on my iPhone, but it didn't do that. The only thing that seems messed up is the podcasts.  I do have an app called Bookmark that I use to listen to books and podcasts. Thanks for any ideas.

  • I can't recall my passcode to my older iPod touch (after the newer one got stolen) and it's not showing up in iTunes, how can I restore it to clear the passcode?

    The only way is to restore the iPOd via iTunes. Have you tried:

    Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
    button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    My ipod works fine.... sometimes. Its a completely unpredictable problem.     1st generation iPod shuffle does not show up in iTunes on my Windows 7 PC (but shows up in my computer).  Tried all the Apple trouble-shooting steps (some several times).  It used to work with Windows 7 on this PC.  Are there other steps I can try? 

    I'm not sure what "all" means, unless you state them, so if you have not done so already, you should use this procedure to reset the iPod shuffle

    Then, shut down your computer (power off) and start it up, with iPod shuffle NOT connected.  Run iTunes.  Then, try connecting the iPod shuffle again.
    Since this is a first gen iPod shuffle that IS recognized by the computer (so it's probably not a bad USB connector), you can also try using the iPod Reset Utility

  • Phone is not showing up in iTunes.  I've tried everything.

    I have windows XP, iTunes 7.0.1.8, and a Motorola SLIVR.
    When I connect my phone to my computer via USB, it sometimes does not show up in iTunes. if it does show up, anytime i try to transfer songs, or delete songs, or access the phone's music files in any way, i get an error message that says "The mobile phone "SLIVR" cannot be updated. Thre required folder was not found." and no changes are made.
    Here is what I've done to attempt to correct:
    1. Reinstalled iTunes with the latest download from their site. no luck.
    2. Checked my USB settings on phone, it is set to Memory Card.
    3. Un-plugged and restarted my computer and phone.
    4. Tried re-formating, but the option wasn't there. I went to Settings>Phone Status>Storage Devices>Card, which took me to the Details page on my card. I hit the menu key, and there is no option to format. The only thing in the menu says "Copy All Text".
    5. Plugged a different SLIVR in, and it still did not work.
    6. Plugged my SLIVR into a different computer, and it works (had to re-sync and erase all my files, but was able to transfer songs to my phone).

    it could be the cord. i have that same issue with my phone and it was the cord. you're not supposed to store the usb cord (or any other electrical cord) in a bunched up manner. anyway, i played around with my cord by bending it in different directions and now the cord works and my phone is recognized again. if all else fails, best to buy a new cord.

  • Not showing up in iTunes

    I've had ATV for a month now and I'm about to reset the ATV for the third time due to various connection issues. The first time the ATV was frozen and no amount of soft resetting cured the problem so I hard reset. This time I have full control of my ATV but it is not showing up in iTunes. The ATV is on the network and can see You Tube and all the web based things, it just isn't being seen by my iTunes. I'm going to hard reset again and then I'll wait 12 hours for all my content to be reloaded onto my ATV. It doesn't appear that I'm the only one with this problem here, but it doesn't seem that there are any solutions to this just yet. Let's see if a hard reset does the trick.

    Wifi can be broadcast over a number of channels (frequencies), typically they are channels 1 through 11 in the US, 1 through 13 in the UK & Europe and 1 through 14 in Asia. These are not necessarily discrete channels and a number will overlap. In Europe channels 1, 5, 9 & 13 are generally non-overlapped channels and would usually be the first ones to try, although channel 11 is often used as the default channel, presumably being a reflection of a dominant US market where channels 1, 6 and 11 are non-overlapped.
    Depending on your router, settings will vary, you should look at your manual to learn how to change these settings on your specific equipment.

    To copy photos to the iPad, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
