Role in Collaboration Room

Hi
I have duplicated the Collaboration Room Template "SAP_Information_Site" and created a new CR based on the duplicated template. Three roles are defined in that template: admin, content manager, public
I assigned my own admin-user the admin-role in this CR.
But every other user entering this room has automatically been assigned to the "content manager"-role, although he should be assigned to the "public"-role! I always delete the user from the Member-list in the Administration of this CR. But everytime the user enters the room, he´s assigned to the content manager-role again!!!!
Can anybody help me?
We´re on SAP EP 6.0 SP 13

Sorry, but that url doesn´t help. I know the procedure of assigning PORTAL (!!!) roles. The problem is, that within the collaboration room the ROOM (!!!) role "content manager" is assigned
autmatically to EVERY user entering the room. I can´t control that.
Normally every user should have the room role "Public"!

We have configured collaboration Rooms in our producer portal. We want to show them on consumer portal using a remote role created on producer.
When we assign the remote role on the consumer , the rooms are not shown completely.
Is there a limitation on using remote roles with collaboration rooms?

Only Super Administration role can use collaboration rooms,

The problem using portal 7.0 SP14, The users came from a SAP systems. the users with super administration role, Collaboration and CollaborationRoomCreator works perfectly, I mean, can create rooms and enter without problem, then i have an user that have standard user role, and collaboration role, and its include as member in an room, but when I try to enter to the room I get an error. and of course doesn't work... I have try with several role to enter the room, all 6 roles from collaboration, (3 specialist, 3 com.sap.pct) and nothing, Only with super admin role works.... and off course..... that not the idea...
The exception that I get is:

I check on logs files and see this...

Your exception log message does not give much information, I would think there should be more, but at least from your description, this sounds like this well known issue.

Accessing Collaboration Room with Room Link (URL) doesn't work

hi all
i'm trying to access a collaboration room by room link (url) but it doesn't work. the room url is: https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/b0ce78ec-3f30-2910-2184-b171271d4d95/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
i have checked the roombackend-properties => they are ok
i have checked the roles and permissions => they are ok
what me surprises: when i open a new browser window and type in the mentioned url, our portal-start-page is displayed but in the content area there is no content displaied. i expected, that when i type in the url, then the authentification-dialogue would appear, but it does not.... (does this url only work if i am already logged in the portal??)
if you have any ideas, how the problem could be solved, please let me know!

thank you for the input. i have now solved the problem, perhaps my solution fits for you too. here it is:
when i use the function "send room-link" the url looks like this:

with this url i can not access the collaboration room.
but when i change the url like this:

now i can access the room (with authentification).
OK, for me the main problem is solved, but can someone perhaps tell me whats the difference between:
NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector
and
NavigationTarget=ROLES

Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:

We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1. Discussion iView gives an error saying You do not have access permission (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).
Log for this error is as follows:

I have figured out that the following error message is common in most or the error messages:

Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
Which roles do u have?
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?

"404 Error - The requested resource does not exist" found in portal for Collaboration room

Hi Experts,
I am trying to resolve this issue since a week but not able to solve it, so i need your help.
The Problem is when i assign a collaboration room to a user, the room is assigned but when the user clicks on the room link it gives the "404 Error - The requested resource doesn't exist". But if a new room is created and give access to the user, the user is able to open the new room through the link and view the documents.
The Unique thing about the error is, it doesn't occur for every user it happens with few users, since I am the super_admin I am able to view all the rooms without getting such "404 error" even for once.
I have tried by setting up all the permissions to the room and also assigning Everyone role to the rooms, still the problem persists.
I am unable to find a solution for this, so need your help.

A user can only see the public area in a collaboration room

Hi all,
We have experienced that a certain user can only see the public area of
a collaboration room although the user has member rights to see more
content.
We have tried to remove the user from the room and add him again. It
did not help.
Other users have been added before and after this user without problems.
What could be wrong with this user?

Collaboration Rooms in Detailed Navaigation

Hi
I have created a collaboration rooms using room templates.
All rooms are displaying under Rooms directory.
But now i need to get this rooms in detailed navigation
For eg: We have diffrent roles like sites , departments etc..
When user clicks on project sites role on top level navigation all project rooms he has access has to be displayed in detailed navigation, so that he click on which room he wants and enter into that room and room content will display in content area.
same way when user clicks on Department role all department rooms has to be dispalyed on detalied navigation based on permissions.
How to diffrentiate rooms like project rooms and department rooms

Help: Collaboration Room Bugs/Issues

Hi,
I have created my own collaboration room template by duplicating the standard Information Site template.
However, i am facing a few issues related to collaboration room creation, which might be standard features/bugs in collaboration room.
1. When i create a new Room, all the users of that room (members as well as administrators) get full access to room documents, headers, news, Faqs etc.
The permissions started working fine when i changed permissions in KM Content --> Room_Extensions.
All the existing rooms showed the correct permissions.
However, whenever i create a new room, every user gets full permissions to all the parts of the room.
This is despite the fact that i have removed all the users from full permissions to the room_extensions folder in KM and reset the child permissions.
2. I have attached the iView com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer/iViews/ com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomMemberList (Team Members iView)to my room template.
When i create a new room based on my template, i do not get the users specific to a particular room.
What i get in the Team members list is all the users listed in the Contacts list in Collaboration Launch Pad.
3. When i try to preview some of the iViews stored in com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer, i get an exception. On attaching these iViews to the Collaboration Rooms, i get a message stating "Invalid Item ID" index.xml.
I get the same message even after attaching these iViews to a collaboration room template and creating a room based on the template.
Any help regarding these issues would be highly appreciated. Full points for helping me with these issues.

here my comments:
1) These are the standard settings (every room member gets full access) for the permissions of KM content created during a Room creation. Since KM can't distinguish between the room roles, we can't set 'better/stronger' permissions. You can only set manually permissions on concrete users.
2) It seems that you have not set the mappings for this iView. For the RoomMemberList you need the following settings:
StartURI        room_rootrolegroup_rid
path            room_rootrolegroup_rid
roomrid         roomid
in the documentation you find more mappings for iViews delivered by SAP, which You have to set in the templates.

3) That's possible since some of the iViews needs certain iView-Parameters set to work properly. Please check if this iView needs some mappings under the link in the documentation under 2)
4) Up to now we are treating groups as you described. We are working on a solution where we work with groups as room members and we don't resolve the members of the invited/added group.

cRoom templates are defined in portal.
Check with your portal team. They can provide you the path and details of cRoom templates.

Null links in collaboration room

Hello,
I created a collaboration room with the following room parts:
Project Home
Documents and Links
Tasks
Admin: Room
Admin: Members and Room Relations
Team Members
of these, Admin:Room and Admin:Members and Room Relations are assigned only to Admin members.
When I create a rrom using this template and enter as Admin, everything is fine. The problem is: whenever I am login with Members role, I am getting 2 null links in place of Admin: Room and Admin: Members and Room Relations.
I have tried following https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1196685 but without any success. I already have these 2 pages permission set for everyone as Read (End user checked).
I am on EP 7.0 SP16.
Please help

You must be referring to the Collaboration lInk at the top of the
portal ie CLP. If you click on the context menu of Collaboration,you
should get a dropdown which contains create room.
Ideally for creating the room, You must be having the roles
ie Collaboration, Collaboration RoomCreation or the superadmin Role.
Pls assign these roles to your userid and then Go to
Content_Admin->Collaboration Content->Room Creation.

Collaboration room repositories as file system repositories

Hi all,
i have following problem, i need to upload documents automatically in rooms repositories, i'm trying to create cmstore instances under windows file system, instead of content maanagement repositories , first connecting to a file system repository and mapping collaboration_service service user on microsoft_windows_km, but it's been unsuccessfull, then i tried to use a directory created under /etc, but it sounds not possible as well. When i try to complete room a i always get error failed to create stores. Does anybody try this or can point me at developing informaion for using api or building a service for automatically storing in CM repositories?

Error in RFC communication with Collaboration Room API

I am trying to setup collaboration rooms integration with learning solution.
while trying to fetch templates, existing rooms available on portal into R/3 (ecc 6) we are getting this error
"Error in RFC communication with Collaboration Room API"
i am trying to perform
SPRO>Training & Event Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training management>Integration>Collaboration room.>Edit Room Profiles and
Edit Role Profiles
we have setup all SSO parameters required for this communication.

I'm having the same problem myself... There is another simmilar thread at:

It seems that thread has progressed further that this one.
Both seem to be errors connecting LSO to Collaboration rooms. I'm getting both error messages when I try to do the same API connection functions from different points in the system, so I'm guessing that they are the same error. IT seems to be an SSO issue.
