Role in Content Management

Hi,
I am currently unable to view any of the role on different content type through Portal console. Is there a way to still create a new content or access content type from repository. How important is it to view roles on the entitlement service of the Repository. How to create a content when i am unable to view any of the default roles on the content type. Is it possible to create a new role using the API's and then create new content/content types? This issue is my project deployed in weblogic 10. what attributes need to be set in the domain files to provide role based access to the contents/content types.

it's possible to both create content types (ObjectClasses) and edit content types via the CM API. What issue are you running into?How important is it to view roles on the entitlement service of the Repository.
I'm not sure why this would or would not be important to you. Can you describe what you are trying to do? How to create a content when i am unable to view any of the default roles on the content type.
can you describe what is happening when you attempt to create a node? the exact error message or stack trace may be helpful.Is it possible to create a new role using the API's and then create new content/content types?
I believe new roles can be created via an API call. New types (objectClasses) can also be created via an API call.It sounds like perhaps the entitlements roles the user is in (when creating a node) do not have the ability to create a node of a specified type. An error message or exception would be helpful.
In WLP 10, CM entitlements are used to secure nodes, types, workflows, and repositories. No settings need to be configured to enable this behavior. The entitlements can be configured via the WLP admin tools, as well as via API calls.

Portal Role(s) to be granted for Content Management

I am looking for the names of the Portal Roles that needed, in order the users to have access to "Content Management / Administration' area.
So far, I have the roles for "Business Intelligence" and "Business Explorer".

Content Management Roles in SAP

Hello Everyone,
There are three Content Management Roles provided by SAP, but when we search for these roles in User Administration -> Roles, only one Content Management role is shown up. Can anyone explain ??

If u search for "Content Manager" in the search tab under Content Administration role, u'll b able to see 3 Content Manager roles as follows:
Content Manager with PCD Location "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.km.ContentManager/com.sap.km.ContentManager"
Content Manager with PCD Location
"pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager/ContentManager"
Content Manager with PCD Location "pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager/com.sap.km.ContentManager"
But if u do the same search in User Administration -> Roles, only one Content Manager role with PCD location "pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager" is shown up. This was what I meant.
Any idea on the same?

Content Management Role missing in EP 7

Hi Experts,
I have to store some documents in SAP EP KM. I have noticed that Content Management Role missing. We are using EP 7. Its strange. Can you please let me know the reason. Earlier I was using Content Management role for storing documents, Collaboration etc.

Hi,
Go to User Administration -> Identity Management.
Select the user and click the modify button.
Go to the assigned roles tab
search for the Content Manager
Add only pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager/ContentManager role and save.

Portal 7.3: Can not find portal role "Content Manager"

As for portal 7.3, I can not find the following portal role available:
pcd:portal_content/specialist/contentmanager/ContentManager
I am trying to configure repository manager but the following path is not visible to me:
System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management
To make the "Knowledge Management" visible, I try to assign "ContentManager" role to my user account, but I can not find this role.
My user account was created as a copy of the administrator user so that it should have all authorizations.
My question:
How to make "Knowledge Managment" visible to me in portal 7.3?
Does "content" related roles help to make "Knowledge Managment" visible to user?

Error while trying to edit in Bea Portal Administration Content Management

Hi,
we are exploring the weblogic portal administration 9.2 and we encounter an exception when editing a content in the Content Management feature. We use the weblogic default workflow, we create a user attached to a group, add that group to a role, then delegate the edit and view capability of a content node in the Content Management to that role, we login using the respective user, check out the content, try to edit the property but then the exception occurs.
It says "A Repository Exception was thrown: User does not have view privileges on the node"
the detail exceptio on the property page was:
"javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Could not find a node at the key: nodeReqAttr
at com.bea.jsptools.content.node.ViewPropertyTag.doStartTag(ViewPropertiesTag.java374)
at jsp_servlet._contenet._node._nodeselected._properties._listpropertiescheckout._jsp_tag46 ...."
Could u help us what step we went wrong, because we previously try this in the WLP 8.1.4 portal administration the exact same step but never encounter this error before.
And is there anyway I can atteched screenshots to help better explain this problem?

You have to set your activex control properly. then only edit locally in KM will work.

CRM Content Management in CRM 2007

Currently, we are upgrading our CRM system from 4.0 to CRM 2007. In 4.0 this is how, we used to assign the content management alias in IMG.
CRM->Basic Functions->Content management->Define Alias for MS office Integration in the People-Centric.
What should we do in CRM 2007?
Secondly, we used to Define Document templates in the following way.
CRM->Basic Functions -> Content Management -> Define document Templates
This path in IMG is missing. Is there any other alternete way in CRM 2007.
Thirdly, in 4.0, we implemented the BAdi CRM_DOC_TEMPL_BADI for custom attributes and filters.How is it done in CRM 2007?

When you say "Letters View", are you talking about the assignment block "Attachments". I dont see any letters view in my Sales role.
Regarding your other question,
One thing is that I don't see a connectivity between the IMG activity and the object designed in the Template designer. Am I missing something else?
Well in the customizing we are barely defining anything apart from the transaction type.This transaction type has a Business Category say-BUS2000126.
Now in the template designer we are saying that we are defining the webtemplate for the BO BUS2000126..Thats how they get linked.All the BUS2000126 objects will have that link then.
Let me try configuring it for BUS1006 object as is in your case.

Thanks for the input.
I've configured the template using the document template tool (CRM_OI_TEMPLDSG) i.e. available on web for business role SALESPRO -> Sales Operations-> Document Templates with template profile as Object type. This template profile, I assigned to one of transaction type of acitvites.
But the button "With template" under attachment tab with this activity type is not getting enabled.
I'll be interested to know if any missing steps or setting required for template configuration.

Authorization control on different subdirectories in content manager

hi All,
IHAC, in a GS, administrator defines content manager taskflow and assigns authorization for different roles on content,customer needs to control authorization on different sub directories, for example: dir1 has 2 sub directories, dir1_1 and dir1_2, customer wants to assign u1 to manage dir1_1, assign u2 to manage dir1_2.
Use different GS is not a solution in this case.
While I can define multiple pages for each subdirectory, content manager has different subdir defined, each page has it's own access control, page_dir1_1 will deny u2 to visit, page_dir1_2 will deny u1 to visit, but this disables u1 to query dir1_2 and u2 to query dir1_1.
Security group and account has been assigned for dirs in ucm, seems I can't use them to refine the control.
Is there any sulotion on this?

"Package Upload" not shown under Content Management

I want to upload the ice package of PDK, I am following the steps from its installation guide.
But I cannot see the "Upload Package" under Content Managment->Content Exchange.
I have also assigned the required roles to the user(JavaDeveloper, super_admin_role,ContentManager,navigationconnectortestrole).
Any idea?

No customizing data found for content management profile

Dear All,
When we configured a business role for our call center agent, we copied existing out-of-box role and assigned to user's local own data. When the CRM Web UI was called, the window popped up fine, but there was an error message:
No customizing data found for content management profile
Can anybody advise why this error comes? I checked the content management profile in our system. There are 3 profiles there but I am not sure if any of them is linked to the nav bar profile we defined. Where to define it? How to remove this error message?

Hi Leon,
To start with you need to check the details of the Business Role. Goto SPRO>CRM>Business Role-->Define Business Roles
Select your Business Role and click on details, You can check if Role config key, Nav Bar profile, layout profile, Technical profile and PFCG Role ID is properly assigned.
Once you assign the above profiles to business role you then assign Position like for e.g. Sales rep and Employee to the org model in PPOSA_CRM. Then select the position and goto menu bar and click on Goto>Detailed Object>Enchanced object description. Select Business role in the Infotype name and click in create infotype. Assign your business role.
Check logging in after performing the above step. If it doesnt work assign the parameter ID - CRM_UI_FRAME and parameter value - X in the tcode SU01 for the user in CRM. Also assign SAP_ALL role just to make sure if it works.
