Role Matrix Templates

I am working on multiple SAP security implementations. I'm in need for a Role/Transaction/Authorization matrix template. Does any one have any suggestions on how to create the matrix in excel or third party tools that have templates for creating a role matrix. Any help would be greatful.
Thanks

A role matrix template is very easy to create yourself. .
List the txn codes in a column
List the roles in the row
Have the business owner designate which tcode goes to which role
The list of txn codes can be generated by pulling the txns from a particular area menu or from the SAP delivered roles for a module - this is a decent  baseline.

i want to know how to create matrix template(rtf) in word document.
if i use wizard or insert> all fields i am not getting rtf like matrix.
    help pls
    Thanks
    Rajesh

This issue is really becoming a problem for us. Does anyone have any examples of label templates. The label when generated automatically converts from pontrait to landscape. If you increase the size of the template then word complains about the page and margin size before printing.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Role Upload template for SAP GRC CUP 5.3

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening SAP Security Gurus,
I am looking to upload end user roles via a role upload template spreadsheet for use in SAP GRC CUP 5.3.  I am referring specifically to the recommended template mentioned in step 11 of the 5.3 Post Installation CUP guide, so that roles can be picked within ERM for workflow.
According to the guide, it recommends uploading from the backend systems via a spreadsheet - any template versions or advice on finalising this would be most appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Steve

    Thanks Ashish,
Someone else recommended this option as well via another forum. Have tried it out and working fine.
    Thanks for the reply

  • Role Matrix in FI

    Dear All,
I am in need of role matrix of Finance.  Out people wants to implement Authorizations.
    sateesh

    Hi Vijay,
role matrix is not possible, it all depends on the your project requirement. you should sit down with you Functional Consultants and decide the matrix.
But to give you some information on BW, it is not Transaction based. BW is completely object based like resticting Info Providers, Info Objects, etc....
To implement Org level restriction, you will have to create 'Custom Reporting Objects ' using Transaction RSSM.
To know more about BW Security, please visit:

  • Delete Role Request Template

    Hi,
I want to be able to use the Delete role request template in code to create a request that deletes a role.
So I supposed that you will have to give the role name or role key with the request.
But when I check the DeleteRoleDataSet, it doesn't contain any attributes.
    Just :
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <xl-ddm-data version="2.0.1.0" user="XELSYSADM" database="jdbc:oracle:thin:@oristb1l.solaris.nbb:1551/ISTB1L.NBB" exported-date="1315573110831" description="bla"><RequestDataset repo-type="MDS" name="DeleteRoleDataSet" mds-path="/metadata/iam-features-requestactions/model-data" mds-file="DeleteRoleDataSet.xml"><completeXml><request-data-set xmlns="http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/request" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/request" name="DeleteRoleDataSet" entity="Role" operation="DELETE">
    <DataSetValidator name="DeleteRoleDataValidator" classname="oracle.iam.requestactions.plugins.datavalidator.DeleteRoleDataValidator"/>
    <Attribute name="RequestorID" available-in-bulk="false" type="Clob" length="1024" widget="text" required="false"/>

    </request-data-set></completeXml></RequestDataset></xl-ddm-data>
How can I use this then ?
How does it now which Role to delete ?
    Thx for your help

WHat do you mean by "Delete Role Request Template" ?
I can't see any Request Type with name "Delete Role" under Request Template.

  • User roles & responsibilities template (or Security Matrix Template)

is there a template we can use within the AIM methodology to set up and organize users and their roles respecitive of different modules and components? If so, can someone point me in the right direction?

Are you talking about not able to search roles when you are creating the template and want to assign that template to a particular role or that you are not able to search roles when you create the request for role?

  • Role creation template

    Hi friends,
I have to give SD transaction access to endusers. Need to prepare a document/template to capture the authorization requirement details and forward the same to basis team. What are the require details in doc/template to create end user role.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    HI
List out the entire list of Txn codes in the format below or modify to suit your requirements and forward it to Basis for Roel creation and authorizaion. Prepare am Excel Sheet with details such as
    Sl.No.---   TXn Code      Description----                     Role1              Role2               Role3------->
    1.                  XD01            Create Customer Mr.           X                      --                    ---
    2.                  XD02             Change                              X                      X                    -
    3.                  XD03             Display                              X                      X                    X
Similarly you can List out all the Txn codes you wish to have along side the Roles Sit with your coreteam member and decide the details based upon number of users basd upon the hier-archy availablei the organisation.

  • Customer role from sap standard role SAP_SM_SCHEDULER_DIS or SAP_SM_SCHEDUL

    HIi,
according SAP Note Note 1054005 - FAQ: Job Scheduling Management with SAP Solution Manager we want to design a customer role with this roles as templates.
    But:
There are a lot of open authorization objects.
We need proposal how to fill this role with adequate values.
Does anybody has designed customer roles from that standard roles ?
    What values are advisable ?
    Regards,
    Roland Fischl

    Dear Aviya Paul,
    1. Who will responsible for Authorization Matrix?
Authorization Matrix that define "what position may have access to which authorization/ role" shall be developed by User (Management), with support from BASIS. User is the one who have the authority to decide, while BASIS should help User in understanding the technical knowledge of access authorization.
    2 to 5. BASIS.

  • S_TCode Full Authorization in all Roles

    Hello,
We have created roles as per the role matrix given by the client. All are absolutely working fine but when i see the report at user level the transaction codes assigned to user we can see almost 100000 T-Codes authorization. I analyzed and found that S_TCODE authorization object consists of value as " * " so that is the reason i am finding all the T_codes authorization.
How this has happpened? We have not given these value in any of the Role.
    Regards,
    Narasimha Kumar

    > How this has happpened? We have not given these value in any of the Role.
If you didn't do it manually then it must have been a (very strange) proposal value coming from SU24. Have a look in table USOBT_C, filtered on object S_TCODE. If there's a star in the low or high column, the 'name'  column tells you which transactions' proposal you need to fix in SU24. After that re-read the authorizations for roles containing this transaction.

    Hi All,
Two weeks ago, I have trying to load roles in ERM. The result hasn´t been than expected. I use SAP GRC AC (5.3). I need to load 6375 single roles, but only I have loaded 914 single role. Next I described to you a general context of my situation:
    1.  I divided the file VIRSA_RE_DNLDROLES.txt into 16 files (UTF - 8) with single roles per module (AM, PO, PS, GL, SD...)
    2. Each file contains segmented roles associated to a business process and multiples sub - business process.
    3. When I checked roles in ERM, I notice that just load any roles. Not all roles in template was loaded.
    4. Files size varies between 18 kb y 145 kb.
    5.  Files concerned "Mass Role Import" have the following extensions: Bulk Download File* (.txt), Enterprise Role Management Information File (.xls) and Primary Org. Level File (.xls).
    5. A error generated was "Unknown error occurred while performing operation (No space left on device (errno:28))."
Honestly, I don´t know the reason for not loading all roles from template. Any suggestions? or ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  • Role Import in CUP

    Hi
There are two options of choosing the source system for role import in CUP
    1. Back end system
    2. ERM
I am facing problems in importing roles in CUP from ERM. The system shows a successful import but the number of roles imported are Zero. However if I choose the Backend system as source system, the roles get imported in CUP.
can someone help me with this issue. I want to import roles from ERM because roles imported from ERM will have all the role attributes like Business process, Sub business process, functional area etc which are not available if we import roles from backend.
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Hi Sahad,
Did you look at CUP logs? Is ERM and CUP installed on same server? Have you configured Business process and sub process exactly same as in ERM?
There are 2 ways to upload roles into CUP using spreadsheet:
    1) Cumbersome method, if you don't have roles maintained in Excel: You can get R/3 roles via SUIM or some other method and manipulate them to match the role import template of CUP
    2) Easy method : Import all the necessary roles into CUP via Backend. Once you have all the roles in CUP, go to 'Search Roles'. Click on 'Search' button without providing any search criteria. This will return all the roles available in CUP. Now, click on Export button. CUP will export all the roles into Excel spreadsheet in the format which CUP understands. Now, delete all the roles from CUP and play with the spreadsheet to manipulate other parameters like role approvers, systems, business process etc and upload that spreadsheet into CUP.
Both these methods require some manual work.
