Role of a CRM  Technical consultant in SAP C4C and CRM on HANA

Hi,
What would be the role of a CRM Technical consultant in the following.
SAP C4C
SAP S4/HANA
SAP CRM on HANA
Thanks & Regards
Sunil

Sunil,
I have got privileged of working on some C4C assignments & as far as my vision goes. A CRM Technical consultant is an integral part of any C4C/implementation or AMS environment.
C4C has a real time integration/initial migration and a day to day basis data flow possible from Backend SAP CRM system. At Backend CRM, XIF adapter is tapped extensively to leverage these functionalities & as a CRM consultant it is not tough to adapt to the Cloud environment of C4C as well but Yes the UI technology has changed as well the view layouts.
Thanks,
Ravi

  • Role of Time Mgmt functional consultant during SAP Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6

    Hi,
Could anyone explain the role of a time management functional consultant during SAP upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ECC6.0. Please provide me if you got any documentation.
    Thanks,
    Sunny

"After you upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0, you can enhance the functionality of your application without performing a further
upgrade thanks to a new deployment technology u2013 the SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP. The enhancement
packages simplify the way you manage and deploy new software functions for SAP ERP." - that is the real benefit of ECC 6.0
There aren't any major changes to PTM functionalities from 4.7 to 6.0. I hope your system is already using IT 2006 instead of IT 0005. Under functional role, you are required to configure/test any functional upgrade and manage data.

You have SAP experience. You know of SAP Modules. You work in the industry. You are your own person. How is anyone on here qualified to give you advise without any context?
Step back - what do you enjoy doing? Which module have you learned about that you find interesting? Which one have you done more ABAP in? Which one might your current employer let you get experience in?
I think you have the answer you just need to think it through a bit.

    Hello Community,
I´m very much interested in knowing whether there is any path or roadmap for the integration between SAP C4C, guessing the SAP Cloud for Marketing component and the Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions, as it was somehow announced at SAPPHIRE.

Initial integration is in the Marketing Performance Dashboard - currently possible based on a flat file download from Adobe Analytics and automated upload into Customer Insight for Marketing dashboard in SAP Cloud for Marketing. Further near real-time automated synch planned for 1408. See the 1405 rollout demo video at C4M@1405 - YouTube. From the ABAP perspective, few differences are.
The WS_* function modules used in 4.6c has become obsolete from 4.7C. All the WS_* FMs have been replaced by GUI_* FMs.
(ii) Concept of Unicode is introduced.
(iii) Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.
(iv) we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S . and we can write the part of code in those points.
For functional differences please check out the following link:

ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment. Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version. Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.

What type of project it may be(implementation or upgradation or rollout), the role of an ABAPER(Technical Consultant in short ) is to code, test and debug applications in ABAP.
    @Fun
    You can simply code the role of an ABAPER as;
WHILE MANDT IS NOT SATISFIED. " MANDT = CLIENT :)
    DO CODE.
DO RUN. "Not outside, i mean the application
    DO TEST.
    DO DEBUG.
    ENDWHILE.

  • Technical Consultant role with regards to PCUI

    Hi,
Iam very new to PCUI concepts.Cud somebody let me know what is the role of a technical consultant in PCUI.
    Thanks,
    Sridar.

    Hi Sridar,
PCUI is the web based component of CRM. The pages are built out of BSP and the code is written using ABAP O.
As a technical consultant in PCUI you will have to debug and write as well rewrite the codes in ABAP O and in BSP. Also you will have to learn about the Blueprint customizing in PCUI which will help you indentify the problem and make changes if any.
You will have to identify the controllers and make changes accordingly. Please make your familiar with the MVC architecture and then start debuggin the PCUI applications.
Please refer the SAP Cookbook for PCUI which is the best guide for all technical consultants.

  • What are the roles & responsibilites of consultant in SAP upgradation or mi

    Hello ,
Would you please any dody help me to provide the role & responsibilities of consultant in SAP upgradation or migration project.Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sampally

    Hello,
If the project is of technical up gradation then with no functionality changed, Then the job of abap consultant is critical, right from creating spdd and spau, interfaces, debug the new programs and fix the bugs if exists in the new programs. The functional consultant has to test the new system from functions point of view; functional consultant is responsible for taking user acceptance test before going on live to the new system.

  • Role of BI Technical Consultant ?

    Hi Experts,
I am a newbie to SAP BW. I have a doubt regarding the roles of Bw Technical and BW functional consultant. I want to know what will be the exact roles of a BW technical and BW functional consultants in a BW project. That is what kind of work they need to do generally in a project?
Points will be rewarded to helpfull answers
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
In general Functional means, derive the funtional specification from the business requirement document. This job normally is done either by the business analyst or system analyst who has a very good knowledge of the business. In some large organizations there will be a business analyst as well as system analyst.
In any business requirement or need for new reports or queries originates with the business user. This requirement will be recorded after discussion by the business analyst. A system analyst analyses these requirements and generates functional specification document. In the case of BW it could be also called logical design in DATA MODELING.
After review this logical desing will be translated to physical design . This process defines all the required dimensions, key figures, master data, etc.
Once this process is approved and signed off by the requester(users), then conversion of this into practically usable tasks using the SAP BW software. This is called Technical. The whole process of creating an InfoProvider, InfoObjects, InforSources, Source system, etc falls under the Technical domain.

  • CRM Technical Consultant

    hai
Hi guys, i am currently working as a BW consultant and i want to move into CRM, could you please advise me on how easy it will be to make this transition, and if you can provide me with a technical cookbook for CRM .
    i will be  very grateful.
    My email is [email protected]
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mohammed,
Welcome into exciting CRM world. When you say that you are willing to migrate as a CRM technical consultant, what is your area of focus? CRM as being a new dimentional product, provides many channels for customers.
    1. E-Commerce - sales, service, marketing and analytics
    2. Field/Mobile Applications - sales and service
    3. Interaction Center (CIC) - sales and service
    4. Enterprise Portal (EP)
CRM technical development is involved in each of the above listed scenarios. You have to first decide on your area of intrest.
Scenario 1 is involved with ABAP and JAVA development
Scenario 2 is involved with ABAP and VB/.NET development
Scenario 3 is involved with ABAP and PCUI development
Scenario 4 is involved with ABAP and JAVA development
For every scenario a different type of development guides are available in SAP market place. If you do not have the access to SAP market place, then I should be able to send you the appropriate document based on your decision.
    Reward if helps

  • Roles & Responsibilities for Junior & Senior consultants(Technical)

    Hi Guru's,
what are the Roles & Responsibilities for Junior & Senior consultants(Technical).
what is the  Role in your project?
How to answer for this question.
what is the  size of  cubes in your project?
    Thanks,
    Madhu.

    Hi ,
In general Functional means, derive the funtional specification from the business requirement document.

The whole process of creating an InfoProvider, InfoObjects, InforSources, Source system, etc falls under the Technical domain.
you work on a specific Application area in BW like say FI, MM, PP , etc. you are a BW functional. BW functional would not do any development but they are rather in charge of overseeing whether the specific application functionality is implemented or not. They rather look for the functionality and not for the underlying code.
Functional skills..Knowledge of taking user requirements, and designing the functional and technical specs according to the requirements, determine what customizations are required in the system.Such a person needs strong 'functional background' of the source system and the functional areas involved..example SD,Finance,MM,Utilities,Inventory Mgmt etc.
Sort of skills required by person at design and blueprint phase.
But if you are working across application areas then you are BW technical. They are the ones who do all the development like creating BW objects and activating them.
developing BW objects according to the design specs(FS and TS),data modeling skills,ABAP coding skills for routines and exits.Sort of skills required by person working in development phase of work.
Generally Technical people are expected to have some basic functional knowledge. But if they really have very good functional knowledge in 1 area then they are generally called "Techno-functional".
An SAP BW functional consultant is responsible for the following:
    Key responsibilities include:
    Maintain project plans
Manage all project activities, many of which are executed by resources not directly managed by the
project leader (central BW development team, source system developer, business key users)
Liase with key users to agree reporting requirements, report designs
Translate requirements into design specifications(report specs, data mapping / translation, functional specs)
Write and execute test plans and scripts
Coordinate and manage business / user testing Deliver training to key users
Coordinate and manage product ionization and rollout activities
Track CIP (continuous improvement) requests, work with users to prioritize, plan and manage CIP
An SAP BW technical consultant is responsible for:
-SAP BW extraction using standard data extractor and available development tools for SAP and non-SAP data sources. -SAP ABAP programming with BW
-Data modeling, star schema, master data, ODS and cube design in BW
-Data loading process and procedures (performance tuning)
-Query and report development using Bex Analyzer and Query Designer
-Web report development using Web Application Designer
    Hope this helps,

  • Course WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI

I had the opportunity to attend 'WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI' last month in Atlanta.  I understand it to have been the first time the course was offered in the US.
The course was great - here's a link to the official [description|https://training.sap.com/ca/en/course/wus581-wus581-tech-details-of-sap-crm-web-ui-classroom-095-us-en/] . I believe this was an adaptation of the material from the Deep Dive Series. I have to say, that it was pretty fast paced as well - you really need to keep up as much of the material built upon what was already taught.
The materials from the class are invaluable.  The labs were well done, and offered detailed solutions.  The labs were numerous, appropriate, and clean.  Most of the twenty exercises were cumulative.  I have since gone back to review some of the concepts, and the material stands well even outside of the classroom.
This course has given me a much better understanding of the bigger picture.  While I have not come from a CRM or BSP background, I have been working with webUI on a CRM 7.0 based SAP Custom Development Solution, [Fund Raising Management|http://www.sap.com/services/portfolio/customdev/brochures/index.epx] for about half a year.  So, I had at least been exposed to the workbench and some concepts over the previous six months.  This course really helped me tie some things together.
I just wanted to share my experience with the group...
    ...Mike

    Mike,
I'm curious to find out how did you find out that the course you took was scheduled. The reason why I'm asking is that I didn't even know that SAP even offered the course in the US, so I would have tried to attend myself if I found out about in advance.
Glad to see you recommended the course.  There isn't going to be much CRM related technical content at SAP Teched in Las Vegas this year,  however there may be at least one session attending (wink-wink), that's not listed yet.  I would still recommend that CRM development folks still attend teched, because there is plenty of great technical content that we can use regardless.
    Take care,
    Stephen
