Role upload of EP from BW

Hi All
I'm trying to upload BW roles in EP. it says <b>"connection failed to backend systems, check ur system properties"</b>
i maintained correct WAS path, using FQDN,imported Plugins etc...but still it is giving that message.
I'm able to upload R/3 roles in EP.
Help me
thx
PRadeep

Hi Pradeep
Pls test your connection using the Connector Test. If that is working then your import will not give any problems.
Normally the connector test fails if some paramters are not entered correctly.
Also let me know if you are using user mapping or Logon tickets to connect to BW system from EP

For a variety of reasons, mostly related to security, the iOS operating system limits what can be done with respect to file uploading and downloading. But whenever you encounter a limitation like this always think, "There must be an app for this."

  • Role upload from portal.

    hi,
I am attempting to upload a sampling of R/3 ECC 6.0 roles into the portal (EP7.0). I have the system connection defined and testing successfully. I unfortunately can not execute the upload function. After defining the selections that I wish to upload, in this case a role, I receive the red exclamation mark followed by
"Could not perform action. Check the role migration log for additional information"
Please let me know how to upload sap roles from portal.
    thanks in advance.

  • Iview object properties after role uploading from ABAP again

    Hi,
Now it seems that the properties of the iviews that were uploaded from ABAP stack are overwrittened when this role is uploaded again from ABAP stacks.
I wuold like to set the property of the iView as "start with another window". but they are now overwritten after role uploading.
if someone know good idea, please advise.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Tilak,
I think you query is not be not answered.
When you upload the role (click on start upload )you need to wait until the status is Finished. The role that you have uploaded can be seen in portal content - content Administration-> portal content-> migrated content-> roles-> u201Csystem nameu201D .
If you are not able to see mean your role is not uploaded correctly.
And my suggestion is first check the service com.sap.portal.pcd.rolemigration"
    Hope this resolves your problem.

  • Hide automatic created folder from role upload

    Hi,
when I make a role upload to the portal, a top folder with the same name as the role is automatically created. Is it possible to disable this feature or hide the folder afterwards?
I have created my own folder structure in the portal, which defines the first two levels of navigation, and then made a delta link from this structure to the uploaded role. The content of the uploaded role is automatically put in a folder on third level instead of directly under the second level folder. This way the user has to click first on the role and then on the folder to get to the content. This is not very user friendly.
    Hope someone can help.
    Regards Morten

Have you tried changing the 'Entry Point'  property within the uploaded roles ?
When you do a role upload, you have the chance to automatically create the roles as worksets (rather than portal roles).  Have you tried doing this?  I think you get fewer levels (from memory)
Also,  is your composite (backend) role design already in place and finished?  It is worth trying to consider the portal when doing the backend composite role design in order to prevent issues like this.

  • How to Change Default Iview Properties for Role Upload?

    Hello,
We have many roles to upload from R/3 ABAp system to NW2004s EP.
We use the Role Upload tool in the Portal to achieve this.
It works fine, the roles are created in the portal and can be assigned to users.
The fall back is that we have to modify every single transaction iview in the portal after the upload to modify the SAP GuiType from "SAP GUI for HTML" to "SAP GUI For Windows".
How can we change the default model used of SAP GuiType for uploading transaction iviews in uploaded roles?
Also, the uploaded role is not flaged as an "Entry Point", is there a way to set this marker to "Yes" as a default value for all uploaded roles?
    Best regards.

This is one of Acrobat's less intuitive areas!
For defaults, right-click on the text box that is as you want it: then select menu item 'Make current properties default'
Use Ctrl-E to bring up the Properties toolbar: its content will change depending on whether you have the box or the text selected, and selecting the box or text can be a bit clunky.

  • Please help me regarding role upload ?

    Hi All,
installed CRM business package in portal. took CUA as user base. now assigning of users to roles is a concern for me.
i.e. CRM 4.0 and BW 3.5 already comes with some predefined roles for portal, for ex : PCCCAMPAIGNMANAGER*
I assigned an user X in CRM and BW system and I want the same user assignment to be used in portal. so I used "Role upload". i.e. I uploaded CRM user to role assignments to Portal, so I got that under migrated content --> sap component systems --> name of crm system --> under that my role (PCCCAMPAIGNMANAGER).
Now I added the portal role com.sap.***.CampaignManager (portal specific) to this role by "Add role to role". so now when the user logs in, he will be able to see the worksets assigned.
please note that we didnt do any user to role assignments in portal.
so all the users assigned to this role in crm and doing manual "role upload" can login into portal and view the worksets.
portal role consists of iviews from both crm and bw. but now we just had the users assigned to role in crm mapped to role in portal, but what about bw iviews?
i.e. what happens when i assign user x,y,z for this role in CRM and only users x,y in BW, so in portal x,y,z will be assigned to the respective role as we took only crm-portal user to role assignments. then the user Z will get an error obiviously for bw iviews, so how to ensure that CRM and BW roles are in sync with roles in portal.
is there some concept of role mapping or something like that to solve my problem?
sorry if my question is not clear, but hope that you can help me in this regard
    Thank you

could some one please help me regarding this..
I am in very urgent need..

  • Problem after role upload?

    Hi All,
I used role upload tool and uploaded them to my portal. I uploaded only role to user assignements (I dont want to upload transactions etc..). I just wanted to get role to user assignments from ABAP system.
I got them under Migrated Content -> SAP Component systems. I checked if the users and roles are assigned properly. IT was correct.
Now, I wanted to add few iviews for my role that is uploaded. so i created a delta link into my working folder and added few iviews, worksets and set the entry points.  and when i logged in as user, I cant see my workset in TLN.
I just wanted to know, doesnt the delta link of roles copies the user assignments of source role to the target role. should i do it manually again to assign the user to that delta link role.
Please help me in this regard.
    Thank you

  • Role Upload template for SAP GRC CUP 5.3

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening SAP Security Gurus,
I am looking to upload end user roles via a role upload template spreadsheet for use in SAP GRC CUP 5.3.  I am referring specifically to the recommended template mentioned in step 11 of the 5.3 Post Installation CUP guide, so that roles can be picked within ERM for workflow.
According to the guide, it recommends uploading from the backend systems via a spreadsheet - any template versions or advice on finalising this would be most appreciated.

    Thanks Ashish,
Someone else recommended this option as well via another forum. Have tried it out and working fine.

  • ERM - MASS ROLE UPLOAD

    Hi All,
when using the Mass role upload from SAP backend systems, i expect that all roles will be uploaded to the final stage in the role methodology inthe ERM and that they will be already generated.
After all, those roles already exists in the systems.
well, i see that this is not the case and i have to go through the different stages with every role.
is this indeed the system behavior or did we do somthing wrong ?
    thanks

    Hi
We did as you suggested but configured the approval stage in the methodology since the role is already approved and is in ECC PROD.
Now we encountered a situation where we need to update the role in ERM as part of continuos maintainance (after upload) but we don't have the authorization option to enter and change it but only the "save" and "change history" push buttons.
We changed bach the methodology to the relevant one with all the stages but still we can't maintain the uploaded role. the change in the methodology did not effect the role already uploaded.
Do you have any suggestions regarding how we can fix this issue?
    Thank you

  • Role upload core modification

    Hi,
Currently SAP delivers role upload tool to upload the roles, transactions, miniapps etc... to portal. It works fine. we have a requirement that when the transaction is uploaded, the iview that is created should have the NAME: "transaction description" + "transaction code".
By default the NAME is just transaction description. To do this, I was checking the PAR files associated with role migration. I found a class with name "IROLEMIGRATIONCONSTANTS.class" in com.sap.portal.pcd.rolemigration.par.
IN that I found a code block
    public static final String CALLING_MAPPER[][] = {
                "functionName", "functionOutTable", "range"
                "TWPN_GET_AV_ROLES", "ROLES", "ROLE_RANGE"
                "TWPN_GET_AV_TRANSACTIONS", "TRANSACTIONS", "TCODE_RANGE"
                "TWPN_GET_AV_MINIAPPS", "MINIAPPS", "APPNAME_RANGE"
                "TWPN_GET_AV_MINIAPPS_OLD", "MINIAPPS", "ROLENAME_RANGE"
                "TWPN_GET_AV_URLS", "URLS", "URL_RANGE"
I thougt that I would achieve the desired with the entry "TWPN_GET_AV_TRANSACTIONS". we made a copy of this BAPI and did the changes and executed it, which shows the result as expected ,(I executed in R3).
Now I want this to be executed from portal. so in the IRoleMigrationConstants.class that I was mentioning, I edited just that entry "TWPN_GET_AV_TRANSACTIONS"  with my BAPI name "ZWPN_GET_AV_TRANSACTIONS" and uploaded the PAR again.
now when I run the role upload tool, the iveiw name was not as desired. It was just as before (i.e. just transaction description).
So as another test, I put "XYZ" (there is no BAPI with this name in R3) in place of "TWPN_GET_AV_TRANSACTIONS", in the IROleMigrationConstants.class and uploaded it again and expected an error. but the role upload tool was working as before, which means, it didnt call this BAPI.
could you please tell me where am i going wrong.
The reason why we want to do this is, we have 250 transaction iviews and changing the name for all 250 when i run the upload is really hectic.
could you please suggest me, how can i proceed.
is there any other way of achieving my requirement.
Did anyone had this requirement or sort of. If so how did you proceed.
    Thank you

    changed TWPN_GET_TRANSACTION

  • Role Upload - Rename

    Hello,
I have uploaded a role 'FI_ACCOUNTANT' from R3 into EP6 SP9. I have changed the name and description of this role in the editor to 'FI' and when I assign this role to my administrator/super admin userID, the modified name appears in the TLN. All very good.
However when I assign this role to a non-administrator userID, the TLN contains the original SAP role name!
I've played around with permissions but I don't think that's the cause.
Does anyone know whats going on here?

  • Iviews created upon role upload

    Hi all,
When i import the r/3 roles into portal some default iviews are created, but certain properties of Iviews are different for example "SAP GUI" it comes a "web gui" though i need to have "WinGui" . does any body knows how to change this..coz i cannot keep changing in all the iviews
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
sorry for the late reply. I was out of office.
As far as I know there is no way to change the SAP Transaction type to WinGUI. But to be absolutely shure from your side, you could read the documentation.
According to your last post: You can of course change the property directly in the portalapp.xml. But the more correct way is to do it in the Portal Content area and edit the following iView: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/ep_5.0/templates/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction
There you can change the property (as mentioned above in one of my last posts) and you have to define this property as "FINAL". That's very important. But currently I see that it is not possible to set a property as final with the Property Editor in the portal. I have to contact the responsible developer in Israel, but they are out of office today. I will contact you again.
Of course, the iViews that were created during the role upload process have webGui defined. But if you launch them, they will be launched using the ..appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction launcher iView and this iView has the final property "WinGUI" defined, which is used.
