Roles are not inheriting....

Hi all,
I changed my UME configuration to make it point to new datasource. In the new datasource, i am using muliple objectclasses (organizationalunit, country and locality)to represent principal group. Now i can see all branches ,which belongs to either of the above stated objectclass, as groups in EP.
Then I created a role called "WelcomeAll" and assigned it to the root branch(group). But the user who comes under the above group is not able to see the role. I also attached the role to the immediate parent of that user. Still the same problem persists. Only direct assigning of Role to User is working.
Can someone please guide me.

We don't use Oracle DB roles to grant users access to Forms from the menu. We use a template and role system of our own. Basically a few tables with templates and roles.
We want to convert our normal Forms menu to a tree menu and one of our key requirements is that when the tree is populated ONLY nodes with programs (i.e. forms) he has been granted to execute is shown.
Since we don't use Oracle Roles how to do this in a tree?
I created a function to show/hide LEAF nodes, BUT problem is that there are sub-menu nodes showing even if the leaf-nodes under it has not being displayed. My function has suppressed it.
My tree query is like this:
SELECT
     t.status, LEVEL, t.label, t.icon, t.node VALUE
FROM
     tma_tree_menu t
WHERE
tma_authenticate_sys_chk_role(USER, t.node) = 1
CONNECT BY
     PRIOR t.node = t.master
START WITH

The tma_authenticate_sys_chk_role will return 1 only if the user has access to the form under that node.
I tried the FTree functions in Forms but even that has nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would you share the source code? I guess what I need is how exactly you retreive the user credentials from the DB table and set that boolean variable.
and then how to condition it in UIX?

Roles are not updating in the GRC 10.0 System.

We had created Z role in ECC system and Ran the Sync Jobs in the GRC 10.0 System .
But the role created in backend System(ECC) was not updating in the roles of the GRC system.
Can any one provide right solution.

On running the sync job what are you expecting to occur when you say the roles are not updating in GRC System? I wonder if you are expecting a different outcome to the purpose of the sync jobs.

BW Roles are not updated in BOBJ system

We have created additional roles in BW system. But these roles are not updated in BOBJ system(BI 4.0). I am not able to see these roles in SAP Authentication when we update the user option too. Any solution for this?

Users are created but Roles are not Provisioned in the Target System

Hi,
It would be great if somebody would provided solution to my problem. The problem is when I try to create the Users in Identity Managment UI then the Users are created in the Target systems but the Roles are not provisioned to the Users.
In the provisioning job SetABAPRole&ProfileForUser,
It is says In the Error putNextEntry failed storing
Exception from Modify operation:com.sap.idm.ic.ToPassException: User does not exist
MSKEY 58437
Please note the When we create the User, the user is created however the Roles is not provisioned to the user.

SRM Portal roles are not getting accessible

Hello SDN contributors,
I have a strange burning issue. Please help me out.
Issue:
When I assign any SRM Portal roles to users,roles are not getting accessible until I assign a custom ESS(HCM) role in the backend ECC system which is mapped with a portal ESS role.
After doing this only from Portal front-end perspective ,SRM users are getting access on SRM roles.
But I do not able to find out the possible reason behind this.
Please suggest me to get out of this issue.

Yes , I'm sure that the back-end role is mapped to only ess role not to SRM roles.

Portal Roles are not visible

Hi,
We have upgraged Portal (Nw 2004s) SP17 to SP18 ,But after upgradation portal roles are not visible for users and Portal adminstors (J2EE_ADMIN ) also.
Standard roles like System ,user and Content Admin roles also not visible.It shows only blank screen after login to portal.
It is critial issue .Please suggest how to solve this issue.

Make sure there are no errors in the browser in the bottom left hand corner. Also, are you using a fully wualified name to access the portal? When you were on SP17 were you using standard roles or did you make your own copy of the roles and assign your users to the copied roles?
If you navigate to the portal content studio directly, can you see the role contents?
After launching /useradmin and authenticating, paste http://host:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fadministrator!2fcontent_admin!2fcontent_admin_role!2fcom.sap.portal.content_admin_ws!2fcom.sap.portal.portal_content?sap-config-mode=true into your browser and you are in the content studio.

Roles are not found after client refresh

Dear Friends,
Yesterday night i had refreshed our 210 client by 220 client in same system by using SCCL Transaction code by logging into target system. I got message as client copy completed successfully. For that i choose profile SAP_CUST.(Because requirement is they need all customization data only).
But after this activity i observe that all user present in system, but some roles are not fount which was present before.
So users face authorization issue.
So please help.
What are post activity after client copy?

when you mean "the contact is still in the Address Book" you mean you can see in the list on the left hand side column? but you just cannot see it if you search for it via the search field. is that correct?
i have had issues with syncing contacts added to my iphone, in these instances the contact or the info added to the existing contact would not flow through to the mac's AB. I solved this by doing a reset of the iphone in itunes and then syncing again, and from then on things started to work.
also there is an option in itunes in the info pane that let's you select which group a contact is added to on the iphone, if indeed you have and use groups in AB, and of course which groups you would liked synced if you decide not to sync all contacts. you may want to check that these settings are correct and do not somehow screw up a contact added top iphone during the sync... just an idea.

Changes to a Role are not Reflected

I have created a role with one BSP iView and assigned the role to a user. When the user logs in he can see that iView. Then I have added three more BSP iViews to the role. But these new BSP iViews are not visible to the user. The user had logged off and logged on again. I have deleted the role assignment to the user and then reassigned. Nothing is working. Can someone tell me what could be the problem? I will assign points to helpful posts.

probablly you may not clear the cache, just clear the cache and check it out.
to clear cache go to system administration -> navigation -> navigation cache.

Roles are not saving in idm6.0

hi everybody,
in my create user workflow i am getting the all the details from a form and then creating a view and then setting the idm atributes with the form values and then provisioning .
my problem is i could not able to set the role in idm.
my code is :

where roles is the form field value .
the allowed values of the field are contractor,manager,employee.
i select one role in the form and while setting the idm attributes i am assigning the role to the user.waveset.roles.
but when i checked in the idm interface all the fields like accountid ,firstname,lastname,email and password are set but in the assignment section Role is not assigned .
please can anybody tell me where i am wrong .

Authorization : Changes in role are not directly taken effect.

Authorization
After creating a role and assigning this to a BP the changes are not directly taken effect. Before logged into the system I runned the program: PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY.
Does any body know what the problem is? Does I need o run a program?
Any help is welcome.

Roles are not Uploading

Hi,
While i am trying to Upload the Backend r/3 4.7 Roles from EP 7.0, i am getting the error:
"Could not perform action. Check the role migration log for additional information"
SSO is working fine with WinGui and WebGui and we are using External ITS.
I am not able to see anything in Log Viewer.
Please help me in resolving this issues.

Role are not effected to user

Hi to all ,
created user "test", by login to portal useing this "test" user, default Home role is dispalyed..
Now i created my Custom role .. i assigned this Role to user "test" in user administration.
i checked is assigned roles my customrole is assigned but it is not displayed in portal while user login.
is there any controls while assigning Roles.. to user ?

Check the role permission.
Set the group Everyone for Read permission, and set the flags End User and Role Assigner.

Why are Constructor not inherited?

Hello,
how come Java Constructors are not inherited by subclasses? Consider:
ClassA
ClassA(someParameters)
ClassB extends ClassA
How come do I need to declare a Constructor in ClassB that will accept "someParameters"? Why don't my ClassB simply inherites its parent Constructor?

Straight from the Java Language Specs:
2.12 Constructors
A constructor is used in the creation of an object that is an instance of a class. The constructor declaration looks like a method declaration that has no result type. Constructors are invoked by class instance creation expressions, by the conversions and concatenations caused by the string concatenation operator +, and by explicit constructor invocations from other constructors; they are never invoked by method invocation expressions.
Constructor declarations are not members. They are never inherited and therefore are not subject to hiding or overriding.
If a constructor body does not begin with an explicit constructor invocation and the constructor being declared is not part of the primordial class Object, then the constructor body is implicitly assumed by the compiler to begin with a superclass constructor invocation "super();", an invocation of the constructor of the direct superclass that takes no arguments.
If a class declares no constructors then a default constructor, which takes no arguments, is automatically provided. If the class being declared is Object, then the default constructor has an empty body. Otherwise, the default constructor takes no arguments and simply invokes the superclass constructor with no arguments. If the class is declared public, then the default constructor is implicitly given the access modifier public. Otherwise, the default constructor has the default access implied by no access modifier.
