Hello,
Instructor Tutor Portal is utilized by users which are designated as Instructors or Tutors on the course event. This role allows designated instructors/tutors to manage participation such as add, cancel, and replace learners in a course event. It also allows the management of course follow-up for courses which they are designated instructor. Here Instructors can confirm participation, rate participants, and follow-up participation.
If you are using Virtual Learning Rooms (Adobe connect), the Instructor Portal will allow your instructors to manage the VLR's and launch VLR's for training.
If courses are not showing up on Instructor Portal make sure the person is identified as an Instructor/Tutor on the course type and course event.
Hope this helps.
Points appreciated.
Cheers,
Alan

    Learning Management
System    Learning Management System provides you with the following modules: Training Management, Personnel Development, HR Master Data, and Organizational Management. Training Management stores all application data and business functions. This includes, among others, course participantsu2019 master data, learner account, course catalog, qualification catalog, and detailed data on the individual courses.
    u2022     Learner Portal
Learner Portal is a web-based portal that provides learners with personalized access to information about courses. Learners can launch web based courses from the portal. Learners can also enter virtual learning rooms and collaboration rooms from the portal.
    u2022     Instructor and Tutor Portal
A portal role dedicated to support the needs of instructors and tutors is integrated into the Enterprise Portal. Instructors need information to perform their tasks when they are preparing a course, teaching a course or following-up a course. Tutors need information to take care of their learners.
    u2022     Content Player
Content Player enables learners to view web based courses. The learner account is read to determine the course status before the learner starts with the learning unit. When the learner has finished playing the learning unit, Content Player saves the current course status in the learner account.
    u2022     Authoring Environment
Authoring Environment is used to publish courses and develop simple assessments. It combines several tools that provide the functions for structuring (Instructional Design Editor), editing (Test Author), and testing (integrated Content Player) course content. It is installed locally on a personal computer.
    u2022     Offline Content Player
The Offline Player enables learners to download Web-based courses from the Learning Portal and play them locally. Locally stored courses are listed in the course list. An icon indicates the status of each course. The learner can, at any point in time, re-synchronize his offline learning progress with the Learning Portal and either continue learning online or set the course to a completed status. The offline course still remains locked on the PC, until such time that the learner decides to either delete the course or indicates through the Learning Portal that the course will be played offline again.
    u2022     Virtual Learning Room
A Virtual Learning Room is provided as part of the solution. The Virtual Learning Room is integrated with the Learning Portal and the Instructor Portal. Learners can enter the Virtual Learning Room, to attend learning events conducted there, from the Learner Portal. Instructors can create, manage and enter Virtual Learning Rooms from the Instructor Portal. Information about user participation in learning events conducted in the Virtual Learning Room is automatically stored in SAP Enterprise Learning. Users need the Adobe Flash Plug-In installed in their browser to use the Virtual Learning room.

    Hi Experts,
    Greetings!
Please let me know what is LSO and what is the concept of LSO.
Please tell me the roll of SAP HR Functional Consultant Role in LSO.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    LSO is learning solution
it is an extension of training and event management, however its application HCM_LEARNING is web based.
Where an employee can prebook, book and cancel courses from ESS, also the approvals if required can be taken care by workflows.
Learning solution can further be described as
E-learning - Web based trainings where the e-learning applications are picked from content server onto portal from the application.
Learning- Which involves just booking/cancellation of courses be it web or classroom, and an administrator can also do the same on employees behalf through lso_psv1 and lso_psv2 and so on.
As a functional person the configuration of the prebooking/booking/cancellation activities have to be configured and their corresponding processes.
then followup activities of transfer of qualifications and appraisals and feedback on completion of courses, the config of the same.
Initial preparation of the training catalogue.
configuration of costs for trng/requirements of trng
checks at any stage if required.
and if web based trng then indexing of the same in content server.

  • LSO -Training ADministrator

    Hi Folks,
Could any one brief about the administrator roles in LSO as many things can be customised in easy access itself  using Current settings .[ with out going to SPRO]
I just want to know about the consultant role here in back end.
    Thanks in advance
    Kumar

    Hi Elizabeth,
The administrator inital who did the actual backend booking will be recorded in table HR1001 Field Name: UNAME, based on course relation (025 is classroom, 614 if e-learning), course id and personal id you will be able to retrieve this data.
Try using SE16 > HRP1001 to find the data.
Hope this answer helps you along

  • SAP LSO - Change Course in portal for Course admin role

    Hi Experts,
I am implementing the SAP Leqarning solutions for a cleint.

R there any configurations to be done in the R/3 or portal for the same??
    Please help.
    Thanks!!
    Regards,

  • LSO Portal - Course Follow-up Warning Message in Portal

    Hi Gurus
When i try to do the course follow-up in portal , i get a warning message after i complete the attendance & course assessment of the participants and when roadmap status is at completed , i get a warning message on top of the roadmap that "Your Course Follow-Up could not be saved". This happens in the LSO portal from administrators role.
We have setup the right control options at course type level.
    Please help with your inputs.
    Regards
    Reddi.

    Hi Amit
I have checked the master data and found that everything is fine.
When i try to follow up from R/3 , i get a error message in the last step of follow up activity as "Error While data was intserted in the database".
Strangely this happens for the course which got over on 12-Aug-10 , but the same course which was on 13-Aug-10 , we were able to follow up the course from the portal without any errors.
I have checked the relationships , schedules,  correspondence infotype etc , all the data items are maintained identical and all the participants are active in the system.
    Am i missing something here.
    Please help.

I suspect this is something you should try to ask upstream, most probably that drive needs some quirks to work without reporting problems and upstream is the best place to ask about this.
On the other hand maybe someone here already dealt with something similar and maybe you can use some workaround to avoid the problem until a proper fix is in place, this still implies reporting this issue upstream.

  • Adobe Acrobat Connect for LSO 600

    Hi ,
When we install LSO 600 , Adobe Acrobat Connect is comming with it ?
Or do we have to install it separately , and pay an extra fee ?
    Regard's

    Hi C,
Acrobat Connect is not a part of the base LSO 6.00 software delivery. It requires EhP2 to be installed (the Instructor Role is delivered in that EhP) and there is a separate licensing agreement for this version of the product. Your SAP Account Executive can get you details on the licensing.

  • LSO workflow in error

    Hi friends,
I am encountering a problem with the workflow related to SAP's Learning solution (LSO)
    1) Whenever i set a substitute to approve the training requests , the  person to whom i have substituted  is not able to approve it from portal and the workflow goes in error state.
    2) However he is able to approve it from business workplace. The person is also able to approve the training requests meant for his approval from portal side.We both have same roles.
    The error statement is
Error handling for work item 000014424000
Error handling for work item 000014424325
Work item 000014424325: Object LSO_PARTIC method ZDECISION cannot be executed
Method container for work item cannot be created
Method container for work item cannot be created
    Unable to instantiate object 'LEARNER'
Work item started following error (new status STARTED)
Work item started following error (new status STARTED)
This happens only in case of substitute otherwise there is no problem in the workflow.

    Hi Gurus,
I would like to add one more observation.
When a person executes the work item from portal inbox the work item goes into error. However if the same person executes it from SBWP the workitem executes successfully.
This is a peculiar situation. On further investigation i found that the transaction SWK1 is called when the work item is executed from portal side.
On debugging this transaction on R3 side it throws the same error at a point in the code as given below.
       CALL METHOD lh_txmgr->save( ).
       CALL METHOD lh_txmgr->commit( ).
    Please advise on the issue.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    2) See configuration http://<J2EE-server>:<port>/lms/mediator/config

Iam trying to Publish Course Content using Training Administrator role. i have browsed for the source file and when i click on the folder it is throwing the below error.
SOAP:1.007 SRT: Unsupported xstream found: ("HTTP Code 404 : Not Found")
I have clicked on show folder of original files and it is showing the location.
I have checked the authorizations and they are fine. This is working in Cloud system and in Dev it is not.
Please let me know if anyone faced the same issue.
    Thanks,

Hi Please ensure the following nodes are set. you could also ask basis team to perform it:
    SPRO of ECC backend system:
    CMCFG CMMR
    /documents/ECC_400Rep
    CMCFG RFCDE
rfc destination created in portal Visual admin for ECC backend system.
    REPEX MRURL
    http://<portal.domain.com:50000>/irj/go/km/docs/documents/ECC_400Rep
    CPCFG RSURL
    http://<portal.domain.com:50000>/irj/go/km/docs/documents/ECC_400Rep
/ECC_400Rep is the folder created in KM contents of portal for LSO master repository
you must have above nodes set.
    thanks,
    Hiral

  • SAP LSO 600 Stuctural Profiles

    Hi,
How do you restrict the catalog by org unit utilizing structural authorization? Can someone please explain how this can be accomplished?
Basically I have a subset of users which I do not want to see part of the course catalog. Also there is a subset of users which I would like to restrict training administrator functionality.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    -Alan

    Alan,
    Just a word of caution...
I would suggest challenging the business group if it is absolutely critical to restrict the catalog using structural authorization.  If you can avoid it, it simplifies things considerably.
Not sure if this is different in LS0 600, but when we evaluated the use structural profiles in LSO 300, we discovered an additional issue.  Users who had structural authorizations in place in SAP ECC encountered problems as Learners in the Learning Portal (meaning that, for example, they were unable to register for a course outside of their structure).  So, even though their Learner role had wide-open access to the entire catalog on the frontend, structural authorizations in the backend override everything for those users, and it limited their ability to have full access to the course catalog for major activities, such as booking, pre-booking, cancelling, etc.
Based on our assessment of the headaches that it would cause for our backend users (over 150 training administrators and instructors), we decided <b>not</b> to implement strucutural authorizations for LSO.
BTW, if the business is concerned about administrators making changing in other areas of the catalog, then an alternative you could offer is to setup PD logging in order to create an audit trail of catalog changes (you'd need to sit down and determine exactly which infotype changes were significant enough to warrant tracking).
