  • Roles not displayed in BEx Analyzer for NW2004s

    We are evaluating a technical upgrade only from BW 3.5 to Netweaver2004s.  Under this plan, the 3.5 security will not be migrated to 7.0. We are using SAPGui Frontend 6.40 for BI. The existing BW 3.5 roles are not display in the Role Menu of SAP NetWeaver BEx.
    Any ideas on this?

    Got the following response from SAP and this resolved the issue
    please add the parameter
    DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO'
    into the table: ssm_cust (via tx: se16)
    The settings in SSM_CUST defines a compress mechanism for the user menu
    known as "Redundancy avoidance" and described in notes 357877 and 357693
    Redundancy avoidance deletes easy access menu entries for doubled
    transaction codes whenever SSM_CUST contains
    1. an entry CONDENSE_MENU with PATH = 'YES' and
    2. either an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODE with PATH = 'YES' or no entry
    DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES, at all.
    If you don't want doubled transaction codes to be deleted, then simply
    add an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO' into table SSM_CUST.

  • Query Not Running Via BEX Analyzer Role Menu

    Hi All,
    I have a problem when executing queries via the BEX Analyzer role menu. I can select a query from a role but, when I select the query to run, nothing happens. When I select the same query from the infoarea it runs without any problems. This behaviour occurs for all our queries so is not specific to a particular query.
    We're running on version 3.5 and I've just upgraded to the latest patch but this hasn't helped at all.
    If I use the role menu via the web application designer the queries all work fine so the problem looks to be pointing at the role menu within BEX Analyzer.
    Any ideas ?
    Dave

    this issue is more related to Security , Roles & authorisation.
    u will have to talk to Security team.

  • "Enter in role" button missing in BEx Analyzer 7

    Hello all,
    I cannot see the button/option to enter an existing query into an existing role. I simply do not see the button "Enter in Role" in BEx Analyzer 7. I have SAP_ALL / S_RS_EXPL_A / S_USER_AGR access.
    I do not want to do this thru Designer or WorkBook.
    Please help me identify if I am missing on anything.
    Regards
    Sanjyot

    i have done it.. i have inserted query into the role.
    Go to query designer and assign the queries into the role.
    First you have assign a user into the role where you want to insert the queries. login with the userid then roles will be displayed in the open POPUP.
    There click the enter to role tab and it will display the all the roles. you have to select the role to insert the query.
    Hope this would help you.

  • Variable window not showing through BEx analyzer

    HI Experts,
    I am facing a weired situation with one of the variable.
    I have a Customer Exit variable which is Input Ready and entry is Mandatory, i wrote some code in CMOD to fetch default values through I_STEP=1 and my requirement is that user should able to change the values if needed.
    now, the problem is, I can able to get the variable input screen when i execute the query through RSRT with Query display mode as HTML. But when i execute the same query in BEx analyzer or through RSRT with different Query Display modes like List/Bex Analyzer am not getting the variable input screen.
    The variable is taking the default value generated through CMOD code and the same values are being used in determining the query output..
    Please suggest me what do i need to do inorder to view the Variable input screen in BEx analyzer.
    I am using BEx Analyzer 3.x for the queries and working with
    SAP Version   -

    DB:                  -
       ORACLE 11.2.0.2.0

    I found the solution in one of the SAP notes and the issue is resolved.

  • Macro not working in BEx Analyzer

    Can you please explain why my Macro is not working?
    We're on BI 7 with Excel 2007. I have done the following:
    1) Open Workbook from BEx Analyzer and the result display on the worksheet. The was inserted in C10 and therefore, the result was display from C10 onwards.
    2) I have created a Macro with the following code:
    Sub Macro1()
    ' Macro1 Macro
        Range("C5").Select
        With Selection.Interior
            .Pattern = xlSolid
            .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic
            .Color = 65535
            .TintAndShade = 0
            .PatternTintAndShade = 0
        End With
    End Sub
    3) When click to run the Macro manually, I can see the color of C5 is changed.
    4) Now I have include this Marcro in Workbook Setting ->Exits tab, Run Macro on Refresh. Here I enter my Marco name.
    5) In Workbook Setting ->General tab, I also set the Refresh Workbook on Open option.
    6) I have also set the Trust Center setting: select Trust access to the VBA project and Enable all macros.
    7) Then I save the Workbook.
    8) when I re-open the Workbook, the color of C5 is not change!!!
    Can you please help.

    Aglukas,
    Thanks again. I understand the name of the Macro can be anything and this is how to create the Macro:
    1) Run workbook, the query result display on the screen.
    2) In Excel 2007, I click on Developer tab ->Macro.
    3) Enter Macro name (Macro1) and click on Create button.
    4) I have VB editor open with following:
    Sub Macro1()
    End Sub
    5) So added the following code to Macro routine in VBA Module:
    Sub Macro1()
    With ThisWorkbook.Sheets("Sheet1")
    Stop
    .Activate
    .Cells(15, 1).Interior.Color = RGB(220, 254, 250)
    End With
    End Sub
    6) I then added the Macro1 to Workbook Setting ->Exit tab, and click on Add Macro button.
    When I run/refresh the workbook, I didn't get into debug mode at all!!!
    What is wrong in above steps?
    Please advice, thanks.

  • Local formula created in web analyzer not reflected in bex analyzer.

    Hello all,
    I had created a Local formula in the web analyzer and saved the query as a view. Now, when I open the same view in
    bex analyzer then I cannot find the local formula column; i.e. it is not reflected in the bex analyzer.
    Is this an error or this is not possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sandy.

    Hello Sandy,
    If you create the formulo at the web analyzer you will not be able to see it at the bex analyzer. Only if you create at the query designer, so you will be able to see it at the web and bex analyzer.
    Thanks,
    Diego Ferrary

  • Query not Opening using Bex Analyzer

    Hi Experts,
    We have developed queries in Designer, and we can execute them from query designer.
    But if we try to run the query from Bex Analyzer no query output comes.
    Output comes as No Data Available.
    This issue is happening from past 3 days..before that we were able to execute from Analyzer also.
    I am wondering has any setting is changed.
    Kindly suggest , as this is very important for us to solve ASAP.
    Thanks
    Mayank

    Hello,
    After applying the latest patches for core GUI and BI components, and the MS Office patch (sap Note 1025122), it should work correctly. I have faced the same issue and corrected it by applying these patches. (The MS office that I am using is MSOffice2003.)
    Can you try opening the analyzer from the start menu, instead of using transaction RRMX?
    If this way it is working correctly, then the softwares pieces are setup correctly.
    Then you may want to check the customizations of your BI system. i.e. IF it was upgraded from the BW3.5 system? What strategy are you using for the report migration? The administrator might have changed the settings according to the strategy and current phase of the report migration.

  • Chinese characters not displayed in Bex Analyzer

    Chinese characters in a BI report display fine in Bex Web, but not in Bex Analyzer (Excel).  Not sure if this is a NW2004s issue, or just an excel config issue. Is this a known issue?

    The problem is fonts. Are you setting a specific font for your dialog? If not, this is a JRE bug. Regardless, you can display the Chinese if you set the font for the dialog using a font that you know contains Chinese glyphs.

  • Role not visible in Bex Publish or Save as

    Hi Experts,
                       I have a new role created for adding my reports to it by the security team. My problem here is when i try to save my query or publish my query on to a role i am not able to see this new role. All the necessary auth objects like  S_RS_AUTH, S_RS_COMP, S_RS_COMP1, etc are added to this new role. But still i am not able to see the role when i try to publish. When i raised a call with the security team this was the reply "Role XXXXXXX is available in your logon.. a developer must place something in it for you to see it.". Please help to resolve this.

    Hi Karthik,
    If you find ur self difficult in finding the "role folder" in Bex, Just go ahead and create roles in PFCG.
    PFCG, create roles, change authorizations, take template S_RS_RREPU .. i think u know all this.
    Go to S_COMP, assign IA, IC, Query ID properly.
    Its going to work in same fashion as you deploy the query to reole.
    please close it if u feel ans worthful.
    Regards,
    Gowd.

  • What's the sense of "NOT" in the BEx-Analyzer selection-screen?

    Hi specialists,
    the selection-screen Queries in the BEx-Anlyzer presents the following selection-options:
    "="
    "<="
    ">"
    ">="
    "<"
    as well as their inverses:
    "not"
    "not ="
    "not <="
    "not >"
    "not >="
    "not <"
    "not []"
    "not *"
    While most of this options are redundant (because "not <=" is the same as ">") I absolutely cannot find any case where the above maked "not" makes any sense.
    In other words: Could somebody please gimme a hint what's the difference between "not" and "not =".

    Hi Stefan,
    I'm not sure weather we are talking about the same thing.
    When I use the the "more"-button (multselection-screen) of the selelection-screen, then I can comprehend your eplaination: The tab's are "and" connected - while the rows within a tab are "or" connected.
    But without the multiselection-dialog, there's still the option "not" in the drop-down list left to the value-field on the selection-screen. But I can't see any possibilty to filter the same variable multiple times here. So the example you mentioned doesn't fit here.
    Perhaps in some different way:
    If I choose "NOT" for the salesorg-variable, without providing a value followed by [enter]/check, then the "not" option is changed to "".
    If I choose "NOT" for the salesorg-variable, providing a value followed by [enter]/check, then the "not" option is changed to "=".
    In which case does the "not"-option "survive" the check without beeing corrected to any other option?
    (btw: I miss a possibilty for attaching images in the sdn-forum! - That would make some explainations much easier)

  • ODS not found in BEx

    I had a ODS in QA.
    Transport was not successful - For some InfoObject error.
    But, The ODS is active in QA along with UpdateRules...
    I could load the data and activate the ODS and I see the icon[ request for reporting] on the status.
    Now I transported a query for the ODS. transport was good.
    I do not see the ODS and Query in BEx in QA, I need some suggestions and Help.
    I thought I can correct the error related to the ODS transport at a later stage , and went ahead loaded the data- >activation -> transport query .

    I am not sure by what you mean by "Bex trasport or regular trasport"...but it is a good idea to re transport. Going backwards step by step:
    . Did you see the transport logs for the first request?
    . Does the first request even contain the query..you can check the GUID
    It is very strange if the transport request did contain the query element GUIDs and was imported successfully, still the query is missing.
    You may want to resend the same request, or collect the query in a fresh request and try again.

  • EP7 NW04s: bi_showcase, business_explorer_showcase roles not found

    Hi all-
    I would like to integrate BW7.0 and EP7.0 (NW04s) but I cannot find any of the bi showcase roles in the PCD. I have read all the other relevant threads and tried every location given, but they simply are not there. Is there something I am missing on the install? My hunch is that KM may be necessary, but can someone confirm?
    Thanks much,
    Matt

    Hey @ All,
    how did you install the EP? What kind of Usagetype did you select?
    To have the BI content installed to the EP you need to install the BI usagetype as well. So in SAPinstaller you have to check the marks properly.
    If you have installed only the EP usagetype you are able to reinstall the BI usagetype afterwards. As far as I know you can start the SAPinstaller again and set the right checkmarks.
    The BI (usagetype) content needs a WEBAS Java and EP installed.
    Hope this explanation helped a little... if so points are very welcome since i am starting from scratch!
    kind regards
    Tobi
