Roles tab is empty in SU01

I have a strange problem in my R/3 4.6 system.
Suddenly the roles tab in SU01 stopped displaying the roles. However, I still can see the associated profiles in the Profiles tab. No new support packages or OSS Notes installed.
When I go to Edit mode and add a new role, it is removing the existing profiles too.
Appreciate any answers.

look like a total loss of user/role data in the system, so probabaly the best (and maybe the only) solution.
Let the basis admin create a userbase export in your Q or P system (first check which system is best) and import it back into your system.
an other option:
create print screens of your Su01 role assignmnet and then manually reassign the roles.
One long shot (but you might lose all info this way) Let basis run the table reorg job in background.
Anyway i have never heard of this error before and hope you can restore the sitiuation. If not let the users know what went wrong and see that you can recreate the system with their help. Would suggest to create an OSS message asking SAP for help.

Role design issue in regarding SU01 and UserGroups

Hi Experts,
I got a requirement to set up a custom role in regarding SU01 access and User groups. Create a role that allows users with this role to go to SU01 but only is allowed to lock/unlock account or reset password. Also should be able to do only with their particular group, not for all groups.
Suppose consider a scenario, we have 2 groups called India with 4 members and America with 5 members. Now admin of India group can only restrict those 4 people, should not have access to users of America group.
I have tried in a way that, created a role with one tcode SU01 in Menu tab and fields Activity:05 , Group Name: Test_group for S_USER_GRP object. Now assigned this role to a user(TEST1) and also mentioned the group name in Logon tab.So he will be the admin for group "Test_Group". in this way he is able to do lock/unlock account and pwd reset for all group members not only for Test_Group. I am not getting Where I am doing the mistake.
Please help me out to solve this issue.

As you suggested,I have created a role with only one tcode SU01 and for S_USER_GRP I have given in the following way:
Activity: 05
Group name: Test_Group
and assigned this to user(Test1).
We have other groups like Test_Group1,Test_Group2 etc. But User(Test1) still able to do changes for Test_Group1 and T_Group2 rather than Test_Group

I have had the same problem in the past but I didn't investigate too far.
What I prefer to do is have 2 scripts.
1. User Creation using SU01
2. Role assignment using SU10

you can create a sub package for roles in conent->user->data.
and can create file like user.hdbrole, admin.hdbrole,, etc
or Go to Services content menu > HCI OData Provisioning > Manage Roles.

Roles Tab is missing in authorizations :(

Error on Import Roles Tab (org.apache.jasper.jasperexception)

We have installed Edge Standard with SAP IK and create systems for SAP. When I switch over to Import Roles tab, following error is fired:
org.apache.jasper.jasperexception
We have copied the relevant JCo sapJCo 2.1.8 files in relevant directories, still the error persist.

Yes, it's tomcat running on Oracle.
However, the issue is now resolved after installing oracle patch. However, it took us re-installation of oracle since previous oracle installation didn't support the (x86) path, subsequently BOE was also reinstalled along with SAP IK. The issue disappeared this time.

There is a configurable value in the End User Roles tab where you can populate Roles. However when you select the values they only pull in roles loaded on the SolMan system. How can I access roles in target systems, so they can be mapped to my process hierarchy?

You want to send the learning map to a group of users with the same business role, e.g. to all accountants in your company, or to the purchasing department. You copy existing business roles in the Solution Manager, or create new ones.

Getting the Selected Role Tab in WebDynpro at runtime.

I have a requirement to know the selected Role tab in portal at runtime and want to use this reference in WebDynpro. I did a fare research and found that this is possible in tag library however i haven't got anything for WebDynpro.
Requirement :
I have couple of reports which behave differently for Admin and User.
Currently i have done the coding by accessing parent group for the logged in user.
But the issue comes when we assign both the roles to a superuser. He will be authenticated either by user group or by admin group not both. And If user is authenticated by user group then under admin role tab also the report will behave like user view.
Please recommend any solution.

If it is OK to depend on a feature that is new to JDK
1.4, take a look at the javadoc for

Invoice List: Pricing Condition Tab is empty

need your help please...
we have set up configuration and pre requirements for invoice list to address the different sold-to party but same payer requirement.
however, we are experiencing problem with the pricing condition. what are the possible causes when invoice list is successfully processed but the pricing conditions tab is empty?
when we highlight one invoice that was processed and click on conditions, it is empty.
and when we click on analysis, it has condition RL00 only saying Condition: RL00 - Message: 001 - Description: Condition ignored (requirement 021 not fulfilled.

can you check in VOFA whether for your Billing document, already invoice list is assign and suitable copy controls from Billing to Invoices list maintained ?

Error Message when I click on "Roles" Tab in BeX Portal New Analysis.

When I go to the BeX Portal -> BeX Web Analyzer -> New Analysis -> Roles, I get the following error:
"Components XXX (version A) do not exist on the database
Components XXX (version D) do not exist on the database
Components XXX (version M) do not exist on the database"
When I click on the messages, the screen that comes up gives the following info:
"Diagnosis
You have attempted to open query XXX from the Query Designer. However, this query does not exist in the database in the system to which you have made a connection.
System Response
Opening the query was terminated.
Procedure
Make sure that you have connected to the correct BW system. Note: The query may have been deleted by another user."
But there have been no query deletions after the Role tab moved in.
Please suggest what could be the reason behind this. And what should be done to resolve this.

Try using table RSZELTDIR
This contains details on queies and all elements that make up the query such as variable, key figs etc..
In the error you should be getting a string someting like: D19UMFAK5JTYJ31B30BRGSQEU
In this table I would recomend just taking the first 8 or so cahracters of this string followed by *
ie: D19UMFAK* - in the ID selection field.

Role tab under authorization in cockpit is missing - due to this I am not able to complete the Authorization for W3U4 session. Please see the attached picture also.

1. Roles tab is not coming even under "java application" in cockpit.
2. Also in my workbench.bat file I changed to below code, still I am getting the error.

VL10D user role tab is greyed out

Can someone please help me.
I am using Tcode and the "User role" tab is greyed , means I cant pick any thing. Is there any place in the configuration where I can go and make changes to the tcode.

To change the profile go to "SPRO --> Logistics Execution --> Shipping --> Worklist --> Configure Lst profile"
To assign this profile to Transaction go to "VL10CUV"

ESB Control Instances Tab is Empty

Hi,
I have working on SOA Suite 10G. I have deployed ESB CustomerData Tutorial sucessfully. But this ESB is not activated meaning ESB should read customer XML from input directory every second and write into database but that is not happening. If you login to ESB Control Instances TAB is empty. Meaning ESB is not getting invoked at all.
PLease let me know what can be the issue.

Hi.
Probably your File Adapter is not being triggered by the polling activity. This can be for several reasons. You need to check all your adapter configuration like file name pattern, and that your physical path where your XML file resides matches the one you configured in the adapter.
Also check for the logs under ORACLE_HOME\opmn\logs.
