"Roll Back" functionality

Hi everyone,
SAP MDM offers change tracking. Unfortunately I read in this forum, that MDM does not seem to offer a roll-back functionality. In other word, there is no standard function for undoing changes. Is that correct?
Would I have to write my own roll-back tool then?
Best regards, Daniel

hi,
Can I use the Check In/Out functionality even if I do not intend to to any manual edits?
For example: if I perform an import which brough me corrupt data (because the source had corrupt data). Can I also use this roll back functionality?
Ans: yes you can use the checkin/checkout functionality. once the records are checked out, you can go for roll back.
Can I also roll back more than one import? In other words: assume I have run 3 imports since the beginning of the month. Can I roll back all 3 of them so that I have the data from the beginning of the month?
Ans:  for all the 3 imports you have checkout records, select all those records and you can go for  roll back.
hope this may help you,
Regards,
Srinivas

Few days ago, I updated my BIOS to f.63. And I need to roll back it to f.56.
Yesterday I contact with technician Fred, he told me to find help in this page :http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02693833&cc=us&destPage=document&jumpid=reg_r10...
And I follow the steps, and use sp66269.exe, copy the file into my USB.But when I insert USB and try to open computer with win + B ,then  the POWER button, the screen led just flash, screen was black.
Then I entered Hardware Diagnostics, try to use roll back function, but it only told me "unable to open BIOS signature file"

    Then I found a page http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/pc-diags.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/pps/pl_...

  • Does the Restore function roll back installed iOS version?

    Hey there!
I am thinking of getting a iPod Touch 3rd Generation next week, it's a second hand buy, so I am interested in the exact functions of the Factory Reset option.
Currently, the device is a later iOS 5, but I can't say exactly which one. I'd like for it to stay that way, so I want to know if the Factory Reset option rolls back the iOS version to the version with which the device shipped, or it will simply wipe it?
I'm just interested in the wipe part of the factory reset, the iPod has been used by another person and I am sure they won't bother to remove anything. Plus the device is a bit sluggish, so I believe this might help speed it up. [tips for speeding up a iPod Touch 3rd Gen are welcomed too]
Thanks in advance for your time!

Restoring will install the latest version of iOS compatible with the iPod. For the 3rd generation, that would be iOS 5.1.1.

  • Glitches in address fill-ins with nicknames; default font problem; plus other glitches in Thunderbird 31.3.0 and 31.4.0; can I roll back to an earlier version?

I am unhappy with the recent upgrade to Thunderbird 31.3.0 and now 31.4.0. My bottom line question is whether I can roll back to the previous version, which was working well for me.
The problems I have encountered include:
    1. I used to be able to enter a single letter in many cases in the address field, and the autocomplete would fill in the entry that I always use with that single letter. That function has been lost, as has auto fill-in based on the nicknames I have entered in my Address Book. I see there is another thread on this problem (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1036962), but no satisfactory answer so far. Entering a single letter now pulls up completely unrelated address entries that may not even have that letter as part of the name, address or nickname for that unrelated address. I have created new nicknames to try to adapt to this problem, but even these new nicknames no longer work with the 31.4.0 upgrade yesterday, forcing me to create yet more complex and hard-to-remember nicknames to pull up my frequent addressees. This is all very frustrating to me, as I depend on speed and ease when creating messages.
    2. Also, I used to be able to enter a single letter in the address field and then use the mouse to click on the "To:" symbol to the left of the next address line to change the next entry to "Cc:"; doing so would then cause the complete address to fill in in the "To:" address field, and make the next field ready for an entry. That no longer works. If I use that technique, the shortcut that I entered in the first field gets included along with the address (if I'm lucky enough to have the address itself selected now, given the problems I've mentioned above). I now have to press "Enter" in order to get the address in the first field to "take" correctly, and then have to click on the "To:" symbol for the next line as a separate action. Just another inconvenience with the new version.
    3. While still on the subject of addresses, personally I see no reason why the address and subject fields should now be colored blue by default rather than appearing as blank, white fields. I far prefer the old look. And I suspect that changing from the blue color to a nice, clean, white field takes time and computer resources that slow things down.
    4. The default font (Times in my case) no longer "takes" when replying to or forwarding messages. I've checked Tools/Options/Composition, and Times is still shown as my default font. However, when I start to type (in a reply with the original message quoted or in a forwarded message), the result is "Variable Width". In order to get Times, I need to highlight the block of text after typing, including the lead-in to the quoted message or the header of the forwarded message, and select "Times" when "(mixed)" shows up. This is a big pain; I often forget to do so and end up having to edit the Unsent Message (which I check before sending) as New and correct the font.
    5. A minor problem: I rely on the reminder to attach a message which shows up when an "attachment-related" word is entered in the body of the message. It has been a wonderful feature of Thunderbird that has prevented me on many occasions from sending off messages without the attachments. However, in the new versions, even if I have indeed added the attachment, a pop-up comes up on sending the message saying there has been no attachment and asking if I want to add one. It's easy enough to just click "No", but it's yet one more unnecessary and distracting step that this new version is requiring of the user.
I'm really sad to see these various changes/glitches. I love Thunderbird and it bothers me deeply to find myself mired in so many new problems that slow down my work. I would be grateful for any suggestions and advice, and, particularly, for any information as whether I can roll back to the version prior to 31.3.0 that was working well for me.

Thank you, Zenos. I tried rolling back to v31.2.0, since I had not encountered problems prior to December. However, that didn't help. So I followed your valuable suggestion to revert to v24.6; that seems to have done the trick.
I would like to mark this problem as "Solved" -- the rollback seems to have worked. However, since my original post was a complex mix of things, before I do that, should I post the individual problem sets that I had noted (address fields/nicknames problems -- numbers 1-3; default font problem -- number 4; attachment reminder problem -- number 5) as separate issues which have not been solved?
Do you know if these various issues are being worked on? I'm glad to have the temporary fix of rolling back to an earlier version, but I'd like to get back on the current update schedule at some point if and when these problems have been corrected.
    Thank you again!

  • TS1398 My iPhone 5s can no longer use Internet on a wifi network. I've reset everything, how can I roll back to iOS 7?

My iPhone 5s can no longer use Internet on a wifi network. I've reset everything, how can I roll back to iOS 7?
i Was considerinf buying a macbook pro, but am reconsidering spending such an amount of money on a company that can screw up such a basic function. I mean you can have your iOS 8 back if this is what it means, I don't want to use your health Kit app.

You cannot 'roll back' your iOS.  That's never been supported or allowed by Apple (with only one exception).
Use this article: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - Apple
It's not the iOS.  It may be a setting on your iPhone or the wi-fi network, or a hardware issue.  But it's not the iOS.  If it was, then everyone's iPhone 5S using the same iOS would not be working, and that's not the case.
    Troubleshoot your issue.

    Hi,
I am exactly facing the same issue:
Error: [129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 141000274:
    But i found a fix :-) .....
This may be a very late reply but it would help people who desperately searching for an answer for this issue.
I used CAST function .. The problem is, we are selecting data from table and of course we dont know the size of the data (attribute) @ runtime. We assign the length by looking at the table attr length or view op attr length. But what happens is the junk data which exceeds the limit of the allocated space hence we get this error.
So i used CAST function to truncate the excess junk values (may be spaces).
    Example:
I have a ATTR view of date in the format YYYY-MM-DD which means 10 char size.
In my CALC view I have created date OP column of VARCHAR(10) but I get the above error for no reason. Eventhoug i am 100% sure about my ATTR date would be max of 10 char my CALC view is failing @ runtime.
So i did a CAST on date as CAST(my_date as varchar(10)) and the magic happend. It works .......
But you need to be careful in using this because if you use CAST you may lose data. Careful. In my case i dont.
Somebody from HANA team should look at this issue from SAP and solve this. I am sure it is a serious bug from HANA (eventhough i am using SAP HANA SP09 Rev 92 the most latest as of today !!!!!!!!!! )
    Enjoy....
    Thanks & Regards

  • Can you roll back updates?

I've recently had a notification on my Xperia T to say it had a software update available. So I installed it today. It's perhaps a bit more modern but it's terribly annoying. For a start it deleted the android browser with all of my bookmarks, which was pretty annoying, but mostly it's the way the keyboard works. I use the swiping method mainly and it worked everywhere and was very intuitive. The new one is garbage. For a start it doesn't work on Google and YouTube and doesn't offer close matches if you got it slightly wrong. Often it won't get basic words and doesn't offer alternatives. It's horrid.
Can I roll back the update (please say yes).

So as far as I can make out. My first problem is the keyboard. When I used to type it would show alternatives in case a word was misspelled. This new one jumps straight to inaccurate predictions for what you type next, so if you've made an error you have to tap your way back to the misspelling. This is crap.
Also you get the full functionality of the keyboard on Facebook and forums and the url bar of the browser. But you don't get it on Google searches. So you start swiping and nothing happens. This is crap.
Could someone explain why you have different functionality of the keyboard on various sites, whereas it used to be one excellent keyboard for everything and also explain how this constitutes progress?
    Cheers.

  • BAPI/FM to create commitment item which can be commit/roll back externally

    Hi experts,
Is there any BAPI/FM to create commitment item????
I can use BDC but problem is that it can't be roll back. In my requirement  i want to roll back based on condition.
i am creating GL and commitment item, if GL creation is failed commitment item should be roll back.
Is there way to solve this issue ? please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi ,
There is no fm for commitment item, In BDC what you can do is create two recording with 'SAVE' button clicked & not clicked. For test run use the recording where save button is not clicked and for actual run the other.
You can also have a look into the program RFFMMDBI85 where the function FM_COM_ITEM_NO_SCREEN_CREATE is used. In that particular fm you have a parameter callsed i_flg_test

  • Roll back process after certain time limit

    Hi All,
I am using Oracle 11g. I am calling one stored procedure (MainProc) from my application. Through this procedure I am calling internally three more procedure (Insert recordProc1, InsertRecordProc2 and DeleteRecProc).
The third stored procedure (DeleteRecProc) is taking more than 5 minutes. But if these process crossings more than 5 minutes, have to stop the process and roll back all three stored procedures functions.
I don’t have any commit statement inside of these stored procedures. But I have EXECUTE IMMEDIATE Inside of stored DeleteRecProc.
Help required: Help me to make a counter / Timer. I have a parameter, which has the assigned time limit. How to check whether the process crossing the time limit? How to stop the process and call Rollback?

  • Question about ROLL BACK

    Hi experts,
    Backgroud:
I want to implement method POST( ) in BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST, and in this mothod I will invoke BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE. But if error occurs when calling BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE, system will roll back inside BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE, then no purchase order will be created, which is not what I expect.
So if I create a function module, in which I put BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE, and call this FM inside POST( ), will purchase order still be created if error occurs when calling BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE (roll back occures inside BAPI)?
In other words, if ROLL BACK occurs in the invoked function module, will the invoking program ROLL BACK too?
    Thanks,
    Shelwin

Create a RFC enabled FM to wrap BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE and BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT/ROLLBACK and call it IN BACKGROUND TASK so it will trigger after update of purchase order is performed in database, and in another luw, you could even analyze error with transaction SM58 (If you decide to trigger an error if RETURN contains any error of course).

  • Rolling back to iTunes 4.9 from 5 or 5.0.1

I have posted a method of rolling back to iTunes 4.9 from iTunes 5 or 5.0.1 before and it works for some people, at least. I am posting this again in the hope that people who have problems with iTunes 5 or 5.0.1 will be able to solve their problems by rolling back.
    (1) Remove iTunes 5 and QuickTime 7 using the Add/Remove Program function in Control Panel
    (2) Copy the iTunes Library file in My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes -> Previous iTunes Libraries to My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes and rename it to iTunes Library (you need to delete the new iTunes Library file there created by iTunes 5 first)
    (3) Reinstall iTunes 4.9 (A copy can be found at http://www.5star-shareware.com/Windows/Music/MultimediaPlayers/itunes.html , the last time I visited the link is still active.)
Also save the iTunes 4.9 installer in a safe place as you may need it later.

    Jim,
Your statements indicate a clear understanding of why the furor appears here and the efforts to address it, but your last admission (regarding issue management) negates it all. How can
    i you
now determine that there is a problem (one that is pervasive enough to warrant a major response or action on Apple's part)?
None of us here have any insight as to the extent (or lack thereof) of the problem. Only Apple knows (if that) how many iTunes installations there are and what proportion of these are experiencing a problem. There have been calls for the iTunes developers' heads since I've seen the release of 4.7 - and all prior indications are that this is not a new event with that version. Some folks have always been getting caught in the ‘fatal error’ trap with each new iTunes release.
Over the 2005 year, the iTunes users have expanded greatly. As such, I would expect a similar increase in folks coming here to seek help and express dismay. It certainly
    i seems
to me as if there are greater instances of iTunes failing, but as a proportion of total users, I cannot say if the percentages are, in fact, increasing.
As for a 'forced migration’,...the apparent policy has been to provide only the current version of the programs. I realize that folks want a 'fool-proof' upgrade, but any experience with PCs teaches one that without backups, archived earlier version of programs, prudence before jumping into a new version release, and a good understanding of one's system, you are just inviting trouble.
I feel for the folks with difficult problems. I am not blaming them, nor am I willing to blame Apple. I remain here trying to assist them where possible. I do, however, expect us as 'users' to be able to proactively protect ourselves as we so often have been warned by various technology experts: make multiple backups, keep copies of previous programs, learn a little bit about our computers, and exercise a little personal responsibility in keeping them correctly operating - or pay for someone else to manage it for us.

  • Differences between Commit work, Logical Unit of Work and Roll back work

    Hi all,
Can any one explain me in details what is the difference between Commit Work, Logical Unit of Work and Roll back work. Pls explain by providing some example.
and also explain me where and when these are used and what are the importance of using these.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Ramana Prasad.T

    Hi Ramana Prasad,
A Logical Unit of Work (LUW or database transaction) is an inseparable sequence of database operations which must be executed either in its entirety or not at all. For the database system, it thus constitutes a unit.
LUWs help to guarantee database integrity. When an LUW has been successfully concluded, the database is once again in a correct state. If, however, an error occurs within an LUW, all database changes made since the beginning of the LUW are canceled and the database is then in the same state as before the LUW started.
    An LUW begins
o each time you start a transaction
o when the database changes of the previous LUW have been confirmed (database
    commit) or
o when the database changes of the previous LUW have been cancelled (database rollback)
    An LUW ends
o when the database changes have been confirmed (database commit) or
o when the database changes have been canceled (database rollback)
    COMMIT WORK.
Executes a database commit and thus closes a logical processing unit or Logical Unit of Work ( LUW ) (see also Transaction processing ). This means that
all database changes are made irrevocable and cannot be reversed with ROLLBACK WORK and
    all database locks are released.
    COMMIT WORK also
calls the subroutines specified by PERFORM ... ON COMMIT * executes asynchronously any update requests (see CALL FUNCTION ... IN UPDATE TASK ) specified in these subroutines or started just before,
processes the function modules specified in CALL FUNCTION ... IN BACKGROUND TASK ,
cancels all existing locks (see SAP locking concept ) if no update requests exist,
closes all open database cursors (see OPEN CURSOR ) and
resets the time slice counter to 0.
COMMIT WORK belongs to the Open SQL command set.
    Return code value
The SY-SUBRC is set to 0.
    ROLLBACK WORK.
Closes a logical processing unit by reversing all database changes made since the last COMMIT .
You use this statement if you cannot be certain that all the database changes have been executed correctly.
The update routines are not performed.
ROLLBACK WORK belongs to the Open SQL command set.
    Note
If the ROLLBACK statement occurs within a SELECT loop, the processing cannot continue because the database cursor is invalid. After the ROLLBACK statement, you should therefore ensure that all SELECT processing has been explicitly terminated.
    <b>Plz. Avoid Duplicate Threads.</b>
    Hope this resolves your query.
    Reward all the helpful answers.

  • IMac freezes after 10.5.7 update, should I roll back?

I avoided doing the 10.5.7 combo update because my son's Macbook had issues with it. But I finally caved and, of course, now wish I hadn't.
When iMac goes to sleep, the power light glows normally, but when I press a key to bring it back, everything goes dead. Have read a lot on here about this and tried resetting PRAM and repairing permissions, neither of which has worked. The only thing I can think of to do is keep the sleep function on Never, which doesn't seem too healthy.
iMac is also almost five years old. Wondering if I should roll back to 10.5.4 which is what I had, and, if so, how to do it?
Also, I've downloaded the Safari update, which I know won't run on that, so would I even be able to get the old Safari back? Or has anyone figured out a surefire fix for this sleep issue?
    Thanks,
    Joanne

    Hello Joanne:
A suggestion - reset the SMU:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1767
If that does not help, let me try to answer your questions.
Wondering if I should roll back to 10.5.4 which is what I had, and, if so, how to do it?
If you have Time Machine, use that (a copy before the problem). If you do not have TM (or a bootable clone) the way to go back is to do an archive and install:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710
Also, I've downloaded the Safari update, which I know won't run on that, so would I even be able to get the old Safari back?
The archive and install will do that. By the by, Safari 4 should run just fine on your system. It is faster than Safari 3.
