Roll back issues elements 9
Hello,
I have used elements 9 many times, but when I tried to use it today both photoshop elements and all my adobe ver 7 and 9 came up with asking me to accept the license agreement. I did and it would not open any program in adobe except CS2, Acrobat 8 and Adobe reader.
I tried to install ver 9 and it would not or at least it still shows up in windows uninstall, but when you try to uninstall it say the program does not exist.
I tried to install ver 9 and it always rolled back the install. I do have the log file, but I do not understand what it is telling me.

The second link to the Adobe document leads you to looking through the entire installation log for "Return code: 3" listings and how to search the Adobe Knowlege base for clues about that specific error. That's a good question about the error summary -- the body of the log would have more specific details about what is happening in the entire process.

I haven't used the installation log to troubleshoot problems, so all I can say is what the Adobe document says: the log will show failed installation components so one can do further research on the cause of that component failing.

That's the part that bothers me the most, because it suggests a larger system problem. If you've already used the MS Fixit utility:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
and still have those invalid entries, I'm afraid that the system is corrupted and that is what's causing your PSE installation problem.
My approach would be to first get the system problem sorted out, instead of possibly wasting a lot of time in the details of the PSE installation log.

Rolling Back Installation: Elements 10
Does anyone have any fresh ideas how to fix this issue? I've tried every trick in these forums and none of those solutions work. Specifically, I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 10. I think the problem started when I installed Acrobat and then had Revo uninstall it. It took a lot of my other Adobe products with it. Elements 10 will not install anylonger. Any help would be appreciated.

As you said that Photoshop Elements rolls back after 90% then could you please try these steps first and afterwards try installing Photoshop.
Please rename the OOBE Folder from this location
Windows:-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
After renaming the OOBE Folder try installing Photoshop Elements first and once finished then download and install the latest version of AAM mentioned in the other forum.

No there is no auto commit on the sales order change . Once the sales order is committed, you cannot roll back.Try like this.
steps
1>First get the data from vbak, vbap table the record which you are going to change.if single reocrd store in work area if multiple records store in internal table (itab)
2>call the bapi "BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE" FUNCTION MODULE
3>Read the return structure with message type = 'S'. if yes then call "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT"
4>Call the bapi "BAPI_GOODSMVMT_CREATE" .
5>Read the return structure with message type = 'S'. if yes then call "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT" ELSE call "BAPI_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK AND t
Read the record from the internal table (itab) which you have retrievd from the VBAK, VBAP table, You will have the old values and now call the bapi BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE and pass the values and then commit it with BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
Now the sales order will be back with older values.

I don't know what is going on with this. Photoshop worked but the premiere elements suddenly kept freezing so I un installed and am trying to reinstall but keep having the same issue. This is from a purchased dvd set. At one point when it got to this phase, the dvd started making an odd noise then roll back. I try again and again with no odd noise but still the same issue. It's not the pc I've had that remotely checked and other stuff installs. What gives? I NEED this fixed pronto

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 running on? For now, for the details below, I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
You are experiencing the known Shared Technology installation error syndrome which can hit any version of Premiere Elements on any computer operating system. There is no one fix. Lots of home remedies.
The fix that has worked for me consistently lately is this:
Local Disc C
Program Files (x86)
Common Files
Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE Folder. Rename the OOBE Folder from OOBE to OLDOOBE. Close out of there and try for the Premiere Elements 9 installation again. (Do not forget to do the Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update after you have finished the Premiere Elements 9 installation.)

Photoshop Elements/Premiere 9 OEM Bundle not installing. Rolls back at end
I have a toshiba satellite T135 with AMD Turion Neo X2 Dual Core processor L625, 4 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics operating on Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I am trying to install adobe photoshop elements 9 and adobe premiere elements 9. It gets to the end where it is almost done. Icon on desktop, and then it decides to rollback the installation. I tried many of the suggestions on this forum: copied disc info to folder on c drive. Started with a clean boot. That actually made it worse because it also caused the computer to blue screen.

Please help me get this software installed. Frustrating that a legit well known piece of software has so many problems just getting installed.I am trying to install a new purchased version of PSE 9 and havin the same issues. It simply rolls back when near the end of the installation process. I am on hold with phone support now, but from the sounds of things here on this forum, Adobe is aware of the issue but has no suggestions to fix it.
This is the first time in my life that I have had issues with installing a new, purchased piece of software.

Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back
As a result of a recent problem with Elements Organiser, I had to uninstall all of Elements 10.
When I now try to install it again, it appears to be installing ok (in that it populates the destination folders and places a launch icon on the desk top etc)
However, before it fully finishes the install, the installer window says something along the lines of "Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back Installation". This removes the desktop icon and gradually unpopulates the files from the destination folder.
As recommended on the Adobe Help Page, I have switched off my Firewall (AVG Professional), but the problem still occurs.
I have previously had Elements 10 running ok on this machine.
Any ideas ?

The issue is obviously related to a Failure to Install Shared Technologies.
I've loaded the Adobe Support Installer Analyser, but no joy or no viable solutions.
I can't believe that I have spent money on a product that I cannot use. There appear to be many people on the various forums out there with similar issues.
It should be easy to contact Adobe directly to get clear and unambiguous help on issues such as this.We shouldn't have to rely on well meaning and helpfull forum members for what feels like a breach of consumer rights. If you had a kettle which failed to work correctly after a couple of months, you would want the supplier to resolve the issue, not expect other "kettle users" to suggest a range of alternative solutions !!
Whilst I'm not a PC geek, I'm no slouch either. How on earth would someone with limited PC knowledge cope.

Since the client software is not installed successfully, I'm not 100% sure if the folder persists.
In addition please check event log. Pay attention to those logs regarding WMI. -

It could be due to Adobe Bridge running already. can't reload Photoshop elements 7 on my windows 7 operating system. Everything goes well and it appears to be installing. All of the sudden the Installer starts to roll back everything and error message shows up saying I can't use this product at this time.
How do I do that? I'm the only user on the laptop - I kind of assumed I already was running the install as the admin.

Rolling back problem during installation of photoshop elements 10
I am trying to install photoshop elements 10, however it gets to a certain point each time and starts rolling back the instalation. I have saw on FAQs to turn off my mcafee virus scan temporarily to allow it to install. I have done this but the same problem occurs. Can anyone help?

I can't reload photoshop elements 7 everything seems to go ok installing but then suddenly it says rolling back and try installing later ???
try resetting your phone by turning it off and back on again. Also, the server may still be slammed from all the activity, so it may take a little with to connect.

Reinstall Elements - "Rolling Back Action" Error
I am trying to reinstall Elements 7. I need to do this because I had a system problem and I needed to do a clean new Windows XP install. As a result of the XP reinstall, I have had to reinstall all my programs.
What happens with Elements is that I get to the screen that says "Registering Product" and the system stops, gives me a message that says "rolling back action" and the installation stops.
I called Adobe install help and they were less than useless. They first had me run the Windows Installer Utility followed by the Adobe CS4 Clean Script. Neither program found any problems and they did not help. They then had me set up a new User ID on my computer and told me to log on as the new user. Again - no joy.
I have successfully reinstalled Elements 3, Lightroom 2,5, Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Acrobat without any difficulty.
When I did a WEB search on this problem, the only useful thing that I found was Adobe Service note kb406851 which talks about removing a cache file. I do have that cache file but the note also says that I may have to reenter the serial numbers for my other Adobe programs. I am loath to take this step.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
DONThis might be happening because of some of the bits of PSE 7 which didnt got removed from the machine while you removed/uninstalled PSE7.
Try following the steps mentioned in the below link and make sure that all the bits have been removed and then try to install PSE7 again.

Photo Elements 11 fails to load and rolls back when it starts 'installing shared services'
Photoshop Elements 11 fails to load and rolls back as soon as it switches to 'installing shared services'. How can I overcome this? Premier Elements is already loaded and works fine including the Organiser. Photo Elements 10 is still on the system and also works fine.

I have tried that previously, it didn’t work then and it doesn’t now.
What I have just done is run the installation until it came up with the error message and killed the set-up file & windows installer. Photoshop elements seems to be almost installed. Organiser works for both Premier & Photoshop. What files etc would have been loaded from the point of the error message? The installation worked on a borrowed laptop (on 30 day trial). Hopefully all I need to do is copy the missing files across if you could advise what they are.
