Roll back text effect?

I am attempting to make my text roll back so that it
basically looks like it's on a cube and the cube keeps flipping
backwards.
I am using this in a template for my team so the text needs
to be editable. Adobe put in some great text effects; however, none
of them work for this purpose.
Any ideas?

Hi Kristen
If you are good with Flash (or know someone that is) you
could create such an effect using Flash.
Other than that, perhaps suggest it to the Captivate team as
a future Text Effect.

  • Glitches in address fill-ins with nicknames; default font problem; plus other glitches in Thunderbird 31.3.0 and 31.4.0; can I roll back to an earlier version?

    I am unhappy with the recent upgrade to Thunderbird 31.3.0 and now 31.4.0. My bottom line question is whether I can roll back to the previous version, which was working well for me.
    The problems I have encountered include:
    1. I used to be able to enter a single letter in many cases in the address field, and the autocomplete would fill in the entry that I always use with that single letter. That function has been lost, as has auto fill-in based on the nicknames I have entered in my Address Book. I see there is another thread on this problem (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1036962), but no satisfactory answer so far. Entering a single letter now pulls up completely unrelated address entries that may not even have that letter as part of the name, address or nickname for that unrelated address. I have created new nicknames to try to adapt to this problem, but even these new nicknames no longer work with the 31.4.0 upgrade yesterday, forcing me to create yet more complex and hard-to-remember nicknames to pull up my frequent addressees. This is all very frustrating to me, as I depend on speed and ease when creating messages.
    2. Also, I used to be able to enter a single letter in the address field and then use the mouse to click on the "To:" symbol to the left of the next address line to change the next entry to "Cc:"; doing so would then cause the complete address to fill in in the "To:" address field, and make the next field ready for an entry. That no longer works. If I use that technique, the shortcut that I entered in the first field gets included along with the address (if I'm lucky enough to have the address itself selected now, given the problems I've mentioned above). I now have to press "Enter" in order to get the address in the first field to "take" correctly, and then have to click on the "To:" symbol for the next line as a separate action. Just another inconvenience with the new version.
    3. While still on the subject of addresses, personally I see no reason why the address and subject fields should now be colored blue by default rather than appearing as blank, white fields. I far prefer the old look. And I suspect that changing from the blue color to a nice, clean, white field takes time and computer resources that slow things down.
    4. The default font (Times in my case) no longer "takes" when replying to or forwarding messages. I've checked Tools/Options/Composition, and Times is still shown as my default font. However, when I start to type (in a reply with the original message quoted or in a forwarded message), the result is "Variable Width". In order to get Times, I need to highlight the block of text after typing, including the lead-in to the quoted message or the header of the forwarded message, and select "Times" when "(mixed)" shows up. This is a big pain; I often forget to do so and end up having to edit the Unsent Message (which I check before sending) as New and correct the font.
    5. A minor problem: I rely on the reminder to attach a message which shows up when an "attachment-related" word is entered in the body of the message. It has been a wonderful feature of Thunderbird that has prevented me on many occasions from sending off messages without the attachments. However, in the new versions, even if I have indeed added the attachment, a pop-up comes up on sending the message saying there has been no attachment and asking if I want to add one. It's easy enough to just click "No", but it's yet one more unnecessary and distracting step that this new version is requiring of the user.
    I'm really sad to see these various changes/glitches. I love Thunderbird and it bothers me deeply to find myself mired in so many new problems that slow down my work. I would be grateful for any suggestions and advice, and, particularly, for any information as whether I can roll back to the version prior to 31.3.0 that was working well for me.

    Thank you, Zenos. I tried rolling back to v31.2.0, since I had not encountered problems prior to December. However, that didn't help. So I followed your valuable suggestion to revert to v24.6; that seems to have done the trick.
    I would like to mark this problem as "Solved" -- the rollback seems to have worked. However, since my original post was a complex mix of things, before I do that, should I post the individual problem sets that I had noted (address fields/nicknames problems -- numbers 1-3; default font problem -- number 4; attachment reminder problem -- number 5) as separate issues which have not been solved?
    Do you know if these various issues are being worked on? I'm glad to have the temporary fix of rolling back to an earlier version, but I'd like to get back on the current update schedule at some point if and when these problems have been corrected.
    Thank you again!

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a couple of calculation views in HANA and each of them has text fields (like Employee Name, Country Name etc.).
    As part of my project requirement, I have join those two views and get all the fields that exist in them.
    When I am doing so, I am getting a weird error as shown below.
    Error: [129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 141000274: exception 141000274:
    TRexUtils/ParallelDispatcher.cpp:275

    Please check lines: 59,
    Upon, researching further, I could see that the value 'TSR HTKD JFSDFM' is the value in text field of Employee Name.
    I did try to increase the length of the field and change the data types but nothing has worked.
    Could you please help me in getting this one resolved.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I am exactly facing the same issue:
    Error: [129]: transaction rolled back by an internal error:  [129] transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 141000274:
    But i found a fix :-) .....
    This may be a very late reply but it would help people who desperately searching for an answer for this issue.
    I used CAST function .. The problem is, we are selecting data from table and of course we dont know the size of the data (attribute) @ runtime. We assign the length by looking at the table attr length or view op attr length. But what happens is the junk data which exceeds the limit of the allocated space hence we get this error.
    So i used CAST function to truncate the excess junk values (may be spaces).
    Example:
    I have a ATTR view of date in the format YYYY-MM-DD which means 10 char size.
    In my CALC view I have created date OP column of VARCHAR(10) but I get the above error for no reason. Eventhoug i am 100% sure about my ATTR date would be max of 10 char my CALC view is failing @ runtime.
    So i did a CAST on date as CAST(my_date as varchar(10)) and the magic happend. It works .......
    But you need to be careful in using this because if you use CAST you may lose data. Careful. In my case i dont.
    Somebody from HANA team should look at this issue from SAP and solve this. I am sure it is a serious bug from HANA (eventhough i am using SAP HANA SP09 Rev 92 the most latest as of today !!!!!!!!!! )
    Enjoy....
    Thanks & Regards

  • Fading Rollover Widget - How to get it roll back in again on Rolloff?

    Hey there,
    sorry for that confusing title
    For a nice menu effect, I would like to use the Fading Rollover Widget.
    As fading type I went for "horizontal", however, once it has completed this action, the menu does not roll back in again on Rolloff.
    Is there a way to fix this?
    You can visit the site at kundenservice.n90media.de/n90media (regarding the menu on top of the page).
    -Markus

    You can use accordion menu , where menu items can be inserted in container.
    Also , check the available ones here :

  • Transaction is not Rolling Back in Stateless Session Bean

              Hi,
              I am using UserTransaction in Stateless Session bean .
              Transaction is not rolling back.
              The following code is writen in stateless session bean. In UserTransaction i am
              calling Two methods of another stateless session bean.
              The problem is if doJob2() method fails, doJob1() method is rolling back. These
              two methods consist of SQL statement with different Connection Object from TXDataSource.And
              session bean(TestSession) is set to CMT, attribute as "Required".
              try{
              Context ictx=new InitialContext();
              TestHome home=(TestHome)ictx.lookup("TestSession");
                   utx = sessionCtx.getUserTransaction();
                   utx.begin();
              TestRemote remote=home.create();
                   remote.doJob1();
                   remote.doJob2();
                   utx.commit();
              }catch(Exception e)
                   try{
                   utx.rollback();
              }catch(Exception ex)
                   System.out.println("unable to rollback"+ex);
              if any SQL Exception as occured in doJob2(), its calling method utx.rollback()
              in catch block. but SQL statements executed thru. doJob1() are not rolling back.
              what might be the reason?
              thanks

  • Roll Back to 3.1.3 - OS 4.0 is for the BIRDS

    Let's open the discussions on rolling BACK to 3.1.3 - who has found a source with reliable information on how to make this happen? I lost my apps, my text messages, emails.. so many things - but worst of all, my iPhone is cripplingly S L O W - There must be some way to wipe it and go back to 3.1.3. Surely using time machine - we can get our old .ipsw file back or SOMETHING?

    Yeah there is a number for support but thats a joke I called them once last week because after upgrading to io4 the phone bricked. They got it back rinning and it worked ok for a few days not it is nothing but trouble. It randomly shuts off, a full battery is smoked in less than 2 hours with nothing running, txt messages take a FULL 2 min to come up. That is just the high lights so I called them back today and low and behold the phone is 1 year and 3 days old and I didn't buy there CARE plan so this was there options, send them $200 dollars and the phone and they will repair or replace it or pay them a per min. fee and they might tell me how to fix THERE PROBLEM. I already did a complete restore (3 times) all to have the same issues. I would love to get this thing rolled back to 3.????? because the phone worke fine before. Oh yeah they also told me if I take the phone to an "APPLE" store they could downgrade it for me (if only there was a store closer than 3 hours away it would have been done)

  • Need Help Making This Text Effect

    Can someone please assist on how I can create this text effect with the thick line surrounding the text phrase at this link?
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/lalogotheque/2801883641/in/set-72157608260902848/
    I have the font already and I'm using Illustrator CS 1.0 for Mac OS X.
    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Yes I guess that is the way it is done:

    <br />
    <br />That is you make three copies of the text but this time I composed the text as one unit using baseline shift and different type sizes and spacing.
    <br />
    <br />Once I had text they way I wanted it and the three copies I kept one as is, in this case the black version.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave a color to the bottom most and gave it a sufficient Offset path setting to look solid.
    <br />
    <br />So there is now black text and a solid colored background in and expanded shape of the text.
    <br />
    <br />I then outlined the text for the text that had been offset and then used the pathfinder to merge the different paths within that art. That would be the first icon on the top left of the pathfinder panel.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave the text in between and outline twice the weight I wanted the gap to be and no fill and flattened the transparency choosing to outline the strokes.
    <br />
    <br />Then I selected the outlined I just created and the background I created before leaving the
    <br />the outline on top of the background and went back to the pathfinder and chose to minus the front. The second icon on the top left of the panel.
    <br />
    <br />And there you are.
    <br />
    <br />Now I can do a Video or perhaps someone like Mordy will stop by and clean up my explanation as I understand i am often not easy to follow as far as my writing is concerned.
    <br />
    <br />I hope this helps.

  • Transaction - the subprocess rolling back parent JTA

    According to Oracle documentation,
    "if the caller partner link specifies transaction=participate and the subprocess also specifies transaction=participate, the subprocess rolls back the client JTA transaction."
    But what I experience is if I just set transaction=participate for the partner link alone (and not having transaction=participate in the subprocess), when the subprocess rolls back, it rolls back parent JTA transaction also.
    In fact, if we have just transaction=participate for the partner link (and not having transaction=participate in the subprocess), then the rollback in either Parent or Subprocess, is rolling back both Parent and Subprocess.
    Can somebody provide the exact usage of using transaction=participate at the subprocess level?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Joe,
    You are seeing expected behaviour. Even though both flags are called "transaction" and both are set to "participate", they do different things.
    By specifying transaction=participate on the partner link, you are instructing the subprocess to enlist in the transaction. When the subprocess starts, it will then enlist itself. That's all. Now if a rollback occurs, all participating processes will be rolled back.
    If you specify transaction=participate at the process level, it has a different effect, and doesn't affect whether or not the transaction is rolled back or not. As I said in the previous paragraph, if the partner link specified transaction=participate, the subprocess will roll back if a rollback is issued, no matter what other settings you have.
    So what effect does that setting have at the process level? According to the doc:
    When transaction=participate, the process produces a fault that is not handled by fault handlers, which calls the transaction to be rolled back.
    This is not exactly crystal clear, to me, anyway. In practice if this is set and your subprocess throws an unhandled fault, it triggers a rollback instead of throwing a fault as it normally would. This exception goes immediately back to the calling process since it is participating on the transaction as well.
    If the property is not set, and the subprocess throws an unhandled fault, you get the normal behavior. Namely, the process will be flagged as faulted, and the calling process will wait until it gets a transaction timeout (no relation to the JTA transaction we're talking about here).
    It's a simple test. Create two processes, then run it twice. Once with that property set, and one without.
    The key is to remember that although they are both called "transaction=participate", the effect they have is very different. It was probably not a good move to use the same name and value like that. Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Robin.

    Hii All,
    From last week i am getting this dump in my production system.
    Database error text........: "ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment
    number 20 with name "PRS_18" too small#"
    Internal call code.........: "[RSQL/FTCH/MKPF ]"
    What should i do to avoid this dump.
    Regards,
    Viren.

    HI Rana,
    When you have "ora-01555: snapshot too old (rollback segment _ too small)", it usually means failure due to the lack of rollback space. The failure indicates read consistency error, as your active transaction overwrites existing, uncommitted transaction, which implies that the system change number SCN in the block is newer than the SCN at the start of the transaction. The read consistency image of new data can therefore not be created. This can happen when large transactions are being written where there is not enough tablespace for the rollback segments to expand or when the rbs has reached its "MAXEXTENTS".
    Solution is to either add new roll back segment or extend the size of the existing ones.To extend the size of existing ones, increase both the values of their MINEXTENTS and OPTIMAL parameters with ALTER ROLLBACK SEGMENT statement or create additional ones.
    Thanks

  • How can I create a shadow text effect?

    How can I add a blur effect to text on a BufferedImage. I am trying to create a shadow text effect. Here is what I have currently.
    BufferedImage image = new BufferedImage(500,120,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Rectangle2D Rectangle = new Rectangle2D.Double(0,0,500,120);
    Graphics graphics = image.getGraphics();
    Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) graphics;
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    g2d.setPaint(Color.white);
    g2d.fill(Rectangle);
    g2d.draw(Rectangle);
    //Shadow text
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    shadow = new TextLayout("Shadow Text", new Font("Serif", Font.BOLD, 70), g2d.getFontRenderContext());
    g2d.setPaint(Color.lightGray);
    shadow.draw(g2d, 13, 103);
    //Main text
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    text = new TextLayout("Shadow Text", new Font("Serif", Font.BOLD, 70), g2d.getFontRenderContext());
    g2d.setPaint(Color.black);
    text.draw(g2d, 10, 100);
    I found a blur effect but it affect the whole image not just the shadow. Here is an example.
    BufferedImage image = new BufferedImage(500,120,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Rectangle2D Rectangle = new Rectangle2D.Double(0,0,500,120);
    Graphics graphics = image.getGraphics();
    Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) graphics;
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    g2d.setPaint(Color.white);
    g2d.fill(Rectangle);
    g2d.draw(Rectangle);
    //Shadow text
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    shadow = new TextLayout("Shadow Text", new Font("Serif", Font.BOLD, 70), g2d.getFontRenderContext());
    g2d.setPaint(Color.lightGray);
    shadow.draw(g2d, 13, 103);
    Blur filter
    float ninth = 1.0f / 9.0f;
    float[] kernel = {ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth, ninth};
    biop = new ConvolveOp(new Kernel(3, 3, kernel));
    op = (BufferedImageOp) biop;
    image = op.filter(image,null);
    //Main text
    g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING,RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
    text = new TextLayout("Shadow Text", new Font("Serif", Font.BOLD, 70), g2d.getFontRenderContext());
    g2d.setPaint(Color.black);
    text.draw(g2d, 10, 100);

    I thought I answered that question?!
    In your code above, watch out for statement:
    image = op.filter(image,null); The resulted buffered image is new, so you are updating the reference held in variable image.
    Unfortunately variable g2d is still refering to a graphics object back by the original image, so:
    g2d.setPaint(Color.black);
    text.draw(g2d, 10, 100);renders on the first buffered image, not the second.
    Here's my code again, touched up a bit.

  • Set transaction use roll back segmet

    Hi all:
    I have lot of packages with the statement set transaction use roll back segment RBS_BIG.I am working on upgrade project and using undo tablespaces.
    Is there a quick way to grep the this statement from all the packages and remove off.Does the presence of this statement in packages of new database cause compilation errors ?
    Thanks,
    Ganesh

    Hi,
    Set init.ora parameter as follows and restart database. All SET TRANSACTION USE ROLLBACK SEGMENT statements will have no effect and ignored.
    UNDO_SUPPRESS_ERRORS=TRUE
    You may use ALTER SYSTEM rather than restart db. If your database use spfile.ora, you have to execute:
    ALTER SYSTEM SET UNDO_SUPPRESS_ERRORS=TRUE SCOPE=BOTH;
    Best regards,
    Dima

  • How do I roll back to 10.7.3?

    I've had multiple kernel panics since I updated to 10.7.4.  I visited the Genius Bar yesterday and follwed their advice to do a reinstall of Lion. It reinstalled 10.7.4 and I've continued to have kernel panics. From looking through discussions, it appears to be an unresolved issue with 10.7.4 and the concensus is to roll back to 10.7.3.  Can someone walk me through the process of doing so?
    I do back up to a Time Machine/Capsule, which I actually suspect as being part of the problem...it doesn't seem to be working well since I updated to 10.7.4. However, it reports a back up from yesterday which would be before the reinstall but would still be 10.7.4.  The strange thing is that is reports "none" for oldest backup and appears to do nothing when I click on 'enter time machine'.
    I'd appreciate any help. Thank you in advance!

    No, not on LIon it's not (that article is from Leopard).
    The problem starts with the fact that when you erase a disk, it's treated as a different one, even if it has the same name.  But effective with Snow Leopard, a full restore is supposed to leave a "trail" that the next backup can use to determine what happened, and only do an "incremental" backup of the changes.
    You may be able to force Time Machine to "associate" the restored disk with the old backups, per #B6 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.  You'll need the procedure in the pink box there.

  • Itunes rolling back on latest installation...

    i would just like one question answered....why does the installation roll back? It says that itunes requires quicktime...and yet..it claims that quicktime is included in the installation...and also i already downloaded quicktime from apple.com SEPERATELY. Whats going on?

    This problem was driving me CRAZY but I fixed it.
    1. Vista's fault for horrible permissions
    2. Apple's fault for a horrible installer that rollsback with NO F#$# ERROR MESSAGE!
    The problem is that iTune's installer cannot do it's job because it cannot delete or edit a file or directory. It would be great if it told you what file is causing you the trouble but it doesn't.
    But there is a way to get that stupid installer to talk.
    Run iTunes from the command line. Here my iTunes is in F:\downloads and I'm telling it to write a log file to F:\downloads\ituneslog.txt
    F:\downloads>iTunesSetup.exe /l*v F:\downloads\ituneslog.txt
    Open the error log in a text editor and search for words like error or problem or fail. You'll probably find some file or directory it cannot copy or edit.
    Find the problem file. Right-click - properties - security make sure Administrators have "Full Control." (I'm assuming you are an Administrator on your computer)
    If that fails add your user name to the list and give yourself full control.
    If that still fails go to safe mode and try to delete the file.
    retry the installer. Rinse and repeat until all your problems go away.
    I hope this helps someone.
