Roll out requirements of SAP in European countries

Dear All,
We are in the process of rolling out SAP to our client's European business units based on our US based global template. Is there any documented procedural steps one must follow so that we do not miss any of the statutory/Legal requirements and some country specific functionality (config, reports etc) ?
We are presently looking for the countries Po, Hu, Be, Ru, Sp, It & UK. We are currently looking at country specific best practices baseline packages in Sap services Marketplace but if anyone can provide an exhaustive list of activities based on their past implementations, it'll be very much helpful.
Warm regards,
Kingsuk Mukherjee

a common requirement in all countries of the European union is Intrastat trade reporting.
And even it is common in EU countries, it can slightly vary from country to country, and Italy the most complicated in this regard.
For Russia you should implement the country version
for Belgium there is special OSS note "how to setup Belgium company code"
(and an umbrella is needed in Belgium, not a legal requirement, but a personal. I never had a worse whether anywhere else than the year I worked in Belgium)
You should do you fit/gap analysis on site to see whats missing.
It is always surprising especially if you have 2  companies in one country, they have  different "legal" requirments. Just had it today. we are merging SAP systems, and both systems have a company in Italy.

  • SAP GUI Roll Out Best Practice

I was wondering what is the best practice for rolling out a new SAP GUI. My plan is to upgrade our IT Department, and Super Users with the upgraded GUI and see if any errors/problems occur. If I don't have any major issues I would roll out to the User Community after about two/three weeks.
Is this typical practice ? I have heard other Professionals say to just roll the GUI out, and don't worry about testing it ? and I have heard other companies etc.. do a set of testing scripts etc..
    Any feedback appreciated. - Thanks.

    Hi,
yes I have done it on our company for years.
once new released or new patch of SAPGUI is launched, I will ask my SAP Functional, ABAP and BASIS mates to try it for a month with various report and transaction variation for standard and Z-tcodes, for dialog and background processing, printing, and export and import data.
After my IT-SAP mates feels that SAPGUI is ready to be used, I will launched it to all user in another department and keep to listen any feedback from them regarding this SAPGUI.
    hope it help you.

  • Explain about Roll Out Project

    hi
Please explain about roll out project
    thanks
    ganesh

    Hi,
    Roll -out Project:
Extending the business functionality from corporate office to its branch office. Example: You have main office in USA and you implemented SAP. Also you have branch in India and want to implement in India. When implementing SAP in India office( having same company in corporate level and assigning a company code for India to the same company), you can say it's a roll out project.
    SAP Upgrade:
SAP Upgrade is nothing but upgrading the software with a superior version which has got more advantages when compared to the earlier version. Consultants are to go through transactions SPAU/SPDD to compare the old and new version of the change and finally need to activate the relevant one. Some times might need to work on SAP notes.
    Implementation Project:
SAP Implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to
implement SAP software in an organization from Legacy System. It is based on best practices and case studies from various sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan ,redesign and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP) software. The SAP implementation process is made up out of Five main phases, i.e. the project preparation where a vision of the future-state of the SAP solution is being created, a sizing and blueprinting phase where the solution stack is created and training is being performed, a functional development phase and finally a final preparation phase, when the last tests are being performed before the actual go live & then support.

  • Repository for legal, local requirements (at a global roll out project)?

    Hi,
we are currently working on a global roll out into several Eastern European countries. We have got a question concerning the localization of the SAP Systems. Are you aware of any repository for the legal, local requirements of SAP systems on a country basis?
    Examples:
What needs to be considered designing an invoice for Poland
Is there any specific VAT reporting required for Poland
    Thanks!
    Kind regards
    Inga

    Dear NSK,
Did you find a solution to your problem?
We are facing exactly the same situation with roll-out on multiple countries on a single client single instance environment. We are still trying to create our Global Template in such a way that we can later on use it with all the aforementioned localizations needed for our subsidiaries.
Can you provide any information on how you dealt with this issue?
    Thanks and regards,

  • SAP ERP roll out to Algeria

    Hello Experts,
Does anyone know what country version exists for a SAP ERP roll out to Algeria. I looked aorund the SAP website, and it mentions there is only "installation" pack in Algeria. Whats the difference between a country version and installtion only ? Any information around SAP ERP roll out version to Algeria or localization pack for Algeria will be appreciated.
    Many Thanks!

    Hi,
first, I would like to explain about the term country used in SAP B1:
SAP Business One is currently available in 39 country* versions, also known as localized versions, each of which is designed to allow you to run your business operations in a particular country. In addition to the generic SAP Business One business logic, features, and functions, country versions also include country-specific functionality that is automatically installed and configured. These country specific functions help companies comply with local legal requirements as well as local business practices.
The term "country" is used for convenience only and does not necessarily infer the existence of a nation state.
I quoted the above statement from this link:
    https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001296992008
You could see there that country used for algeria is france.

  • How to make a Roll Out in SAP BW

    Dear Gurus,
In a few days I'm going to work in a Roll Out of SAP BW and I have never worked in a Roll Out. The idea is that a company should have the same BW than the pater company. I have to ensure and prevent that they will won't have any problem when we add the same BW to the company.
I would like to know the steps that I should make. Some of the things I think I have to check are: Check that the data sources in R3 extract the information, check they need the same infoobjects than the parent company and if they need new ones. Check that they use the same reports, etc.
Any information you can add about this? I've been seeking in SCN but I haven't found information about this.
    Many thanks!
    Regards,
    J.

    Hi,
Below are my suggestions for the rolll out ( new Bi system  development  which will use the existing the ECC system) and it will be  fast too.
1)Ask your basis system to build a BW system same  like existing  with a different SID.  This will ensure all  your BW  data models will come as like that. They will do an export  and will build the new  system.Depending upon the size and back size strategy  it will take  upto  max 1 week to build a new system.
    2) Now connect all the source systems to this  new BW system.
3)Replicate and activate the  Datasources which  ever required.
    4) Fill the set up tables in ECC for LO **** pit datasources by deleting the set up tables.
    5) start the init loading for this  datasources. If  it is finance , just trigger the init infopackage.
    6) As delta queue is based    upon a combination of datasource and  source system , your earlier BW system will not have any impact.
    7) You can have   new developments in this  new  system too .
    8) Transport path is most important...  You can use one development and  different quality and productions or multiple development , quality  and productions.
    DBW-->QBW-->PBW
    DEC-->QEC-->PEC
I suggest first  you can have one development and then different quality and prodcutions. This saves the  development time and also resource cost. Hope this info  is useful
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

  • Versioning and parallel development streams for worldwide SAP roll-out

    Hi SDN folks,
My customer is in the process of a worldwide roll-out of SAP. They have a transport environment for ECC that looks like this:
      D  -
    >    QA  -
    >  R   -
    >   P
We have SAP Charm installed and running in solution manager - to manage the creation of transports in the D system.
The problem we are facing is how to manage parallel development changes and configuration changes.
For example - if we have developers working on a change that is in test in the QA environment - and we hit a production emergency in P - we then need to make an emergency change to the P version (which would only be available in P and R) - and transport this change through to P - in the process - overwriting the changes that our developers are working on in the D and QA environments.
We also have the issue of objects for multiple countries being developed and configured in parallel - and so there will be version conflicts up the to the QA system as well.
Is there any kind of solution for the management of parallel development streams  - and versioning - for all custom code / development objects and for configuration changes(other than introducing a second development system)?
Is there any kind of 3rd party product for SAP that helps to solve this issue?
Currently we are considering development freezes, manually renaming objects with versioning identifiers (will only work for some objects), manual backups of versions. - none of these seem to be a tidy universal solution, is there one?
Any help / directions you can offer will be appreciated,
    many thanks,
    Julian

    Hi Julian,
    Thanks for the clarification!
Managing production support and new development after go live is always a challenge.  It can be addressed in many ways, but it is most important to create a set of rules and stick to the procedure.  If you do not want a "second" landscape, you are going to have objects "overwritten" in the D and Q systems when you need to make a production fix -- as you must revert the object in D to the P version to make the fix.  Even with a second landscape, objects will have to be merged somehow when a fix is promoted to production.
As I said above, what you can do is have your developers save their current development in released transports before making the production fix.  This saves a version that must be merged with the fix, anyway.  That is:
Object A is the produciton version and must be fixed.
Object A' is the current development version (unfinished) and is saved into a released transport request.
In D, Object A' is reverted to the A version and corrected for the production error, creating object A'' that is promoted to production.
Object A' and A'' are manually "merged" into A''' as the new current development version.
Yes, objects are overwritten with this method.  However, you can always retrieve what has been overwritten since it has been saved in a released transport.
Another option is to bypass Q for production fixes.  I.e. D -> R -> P.  However, this invalidates the objects in Q until the merged version is created in D and transported to Q.
In any method you choose to do this -- dual development landscapes or not -- discipline and managment are a must.
    Best Regards,
    Matt

  • Impact on SAP HR for CIN Localization in sap roll out

    Hi Expert,
Can anyone explaine me,what will be the impact on SAP HR module for CIN (Country India Version)Localization in SAP Roll out?
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,
    Seema.

    hi SH WU
You need to create a rule in schema to handle only the first and last entries.
IF they are supposed to be swipeed only twice then you can create constant in t511k and set the start time and end time and compare them and process.......

  • Precalculation SAP Server Capacity before deploy Roll Out Project

    Hello Experts,
Kindly any one share your great experience to help our requirement.
We are planning to implement new business scenarios and new client in existing Production server.
Before deploy new business functionalists, what are factors need to consider in existing Production server.
How to precalculate SAP server capacity to adopt new functionality, how affect workload, performance, memory..etc..
Kindly any one the list of factors.. and some standard document.
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Hi Karthik,
First find out the 'capacity' of your current server hardware. Ask the HW provider for the SAPS number of the machines, or look it up on SAP's benchmark sides http://service.sap.com/benchmarks
Then monitor the current usage of your servers to find out how many SAPS you need for the existing functions, and how much headroom you have left.
And for the new functions, look whether some sizing guideline exists (http://service.sap.com/sizing) or if a sizing for the new application is implemented in the quicksizer tool.
    With that, it should be a simple a + b = c type calculation.
    Best Regards, Randolf

Pleasem do let me know this is my first roll out project and i have to handle all alone.
    Thnks in advance
    sansai

    Hi
You can configure most of the tabs while copying the PA/PSA to new one with all groupings. other method is go to table V_001p_all map the all grouping's same as existing to the new PA/PSA.
So that most of the config will be done, but you need to check all the tabs once againg and do the testing.
    Good luck
