Rolling Titles appear to have an interlace problem on blue ray

Hey guys!
I have a sequence with h264 footage in 1080i 25 (pal) and created rolling titles using the rolling titles default. Then I rendered out a MPEG2 Blue Ray with maximum render quality and best video quality and used Toast to burn a blue ray. Everything is great when viewed on TV except the rolling titles. They seem to "jitter". The frame rate is 25 in the rolling title sequence I generated. Is there a way to change/see any other settings that could cause such a problem?
Thanks in advance!

I give a +1 for Jim's suggestion.
I cannot recall the last time that I used the Titler's Roll, or Crawl Preset.
Good luck, and hope that Keyframes (remember, you can then adjust Interpolation and Velocity) fixes things for you.

Please do 2-3 SMC and PRAM resets back to back and retest. Also use new cables, they can go bad.

I have burned to my external blu ray burner 3 times, but twice ended up with glitches in the project. now it stops at 59% and won't finish sharing. How do I get it to finish sharing?

It's a complex project and there are a lot of possibilities. Among them is the length; there are a number of reports of projects that are approaching 2 hours failing to burn.
If it's a question of jarring Create Disk into action, one thing that has worked for some users is simply to click on and the Apply button (s) in the Settings pane of the Blu Ray Share window and then hitting Cancel. This can be tested by duplicating your project and selecting a tiny section of your sequence and exporting. Change the Output Device to Hard Drive and see whether Create Disk successfully writes a disk image.
You can also  check that a specific clip isn't rendering properly. Since the process got to 59%, it may just mean that the burn couldn't be initiated by Create Disk – or it may indicate a problem with a clip toward end of your sequence. (If you can check the log, there may be something useful in there.)
Use the duplicated project and this time set a range for the last 30 minutes or so of the project and export it, using the Blu Ray destination. Again, set Output Device to HD and see whether it will complete.
    Good luck.

For CS4 you must update the Roxio component, especially with Win8

  • Converted MP4 to DV now I have an interlaced problem that I cant fix

Using Quick time Conversion I converted a MP4 movie to DV for editing in FCP, after which I have a bad interlacing problem. I used the Effect de-interlace and all of its drop down options with no change. I also changed the field dominance from None to Upper and Lower with still no changes. Should I convert to another format initially instead of DV, or is there a fix I am just not seeing.
    Thanks for your Help

No, sorry there is only one (streamclip).
Can you describe what the problem looks like. Do moving objects appear to stagger back as they move across the screen (field reversal), or do you have a really bad shimmer? If your picture is shimmering try using a Gaussian Blur at a setting of 0.5 or so, this will add a slight but not too bad blur that masks the flickering of thin lines much like the flicker filter.
If object moving across the screen appear to jerk erratically I'd check the frame rate of the MP4 is the same as your timebase (25/30fps).

  • Final Cut Pro 7: problem creating Blu Ray disc

Hello, I've a problem using FInal Cut Pro 7. I want to create a Blu Ray disc using the "Share" function, but during the process - after many hours - appears this warning message: "SHARE WARNING - NSEXPETION RAISED BY 'NSPORT TIMEOUT EXCEPTION' REASON = CONNECTION TIMEOUT: DID NOT RECEIVE REPLY". Someone can help me? What does it mean? Thanks! P.S. Duration of my film (in the timeline): 35 minutes.

Yes. It will only burn Blu-Ray if it is the Pro version though.
Compressor will also burn the Blu-Ray if you set it up to do so:

  • Sync Problem with Blu Ray

I have a sync problem when using Premiere Pro CS5 to burn Blu Ray DVDs and wondered if anyone has had similar problems and has found a simple solution.
Equipment:  Panasonic HMC-150 (AVCHD), shot at 59.94 fps, 720.  MacPro with operating system up to date, quad core, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro 4000. PP CS5 also has all current updates downloaded.
When the AVCHD files are imported, they tend to be out of sync by 8 to 22 frames.  I manually resync and edit.  Then burn a Blu Ray DVD using Encore and end up out of sync again.  I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out.  At this point, the only solution I can think of is to try to figure out how far out of sync I am once the DVD is burned and offset the audio that amount before transcoding.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have done some more tests and have determined that the problem only exists with Blu-ray.  When I burn a non blu-ray dvd, video and audio remain in sync. I attempted to export to Final Cut Pro 7 using the export xml feature, but it doesn't work.  I brought the original footage into FCP and burned a portion of it to blu-ray using the Share feature and there was no sync problem.  So I guess my only alternative at this point is to re-edit the entire video in FCP.
In Premiere Pro I've checked to make sure that both the camera and the intake were set for no drop frame and they were.  I've tried double checking the audio sync using the audio line out from the Mac rather than the firewire out to the Mackie Mixer, just in case there was a latency problem, which didn't seem logical and there wasn't any difference.  It can't be a problem with the blu-ray burner since it works in FCP7.  I'm running out of ideas of things I can tweak in Premiere, other than guessing just how far out of sync the program pushes the audio and then unlinking audio and pushing it the same number of frames the other direction before burning the blu-ray, but that will be hit and miss and it will start getting expensive throwing away blu-ray disks.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Jon

  • Problems creating Blu Ray Discs with AME Presets in CS4

After several weeks wasted (months back) with an ATI 5750 graphics card in Win 7/and CS4 (not working correctly) - I finally resolved by swapping with a NVidia GTS250 card .....but all my troubles are not over yet ....
I'm running Premiere CS4 and have finally just got down to testing creation of a Blu Ray test disc from some AVCHD 1920x1080 HD footage I am editing from my new camera.
My work in CS4 is just testing at present as I used to use CS3 [still have on my dual core machine with Matrox RTX2]  - and have successfully created Blu Ray discs from HDV material in CS3 - but using Blu Ray MPEG 2 settings.
    New machine Win 7 - 64 bit
Premiere CS4 is at 4-2-0 version
    Encore at 4-0-1 version
    These are the last updates
I've selected a short test piece (about 2 mins)on Premiere timeline and initially tried Media export using Adobe Media encoder.
I selected H264 BluRay codec in media encoder. Hi quality 1080 25 fps.(PAL)
This creates dual MP4 Video and Audio streams
Encode process goes OK, just slightly slower than real time, (I'm using i7-930 Quad Core and Win 7 64 Bit)
Now - when I come to input the encoded video file into Encore as an Asset - Encore freezes and the whole machine locks up !!!
Audio file imports OK but the Encore software does not like the encoded Video file
I've re-installed Premiere and Encore twice in case of bad install. It wasn't that.
I also found Adobe Media player couldn't play the file created by AME either - but it would play on a Premiere timeline?
So is Adobe Media encoder messing up here ?
So - .....3 hours of testing later ....I stumble on a Support thread from someone on the Forum that they found AME preset has "HIGH" in the Encoding Profile Preset - when it should be MAIN ?.
Not sure what these settings do - but tried changing that parameter and re-encoded the Video file with H264 BluRay setting - all to no avail as when I try importing again the machne just locks up ?
My final search in Premiere help file about creating BluRay discs ONLY talks about using MPEG 2 BluRay setting for creating BluRay discs
It does not specify H264. Why is that?
Can one of the moderators / experts confirm if H264 Blu ray format  is supported for BluRay disc creation in CS4 please??
Better still please tell me the exact settings for Adobe Media encoder so it will import into Encore without having to be transcoded again.
    H264 should work - yes ?
    Final comment
As an alternative method, I tried sending the short timeline in Premiere (using Dynamic Link)  to Encore to test that route for making a BluRay disc
Bearing in mind the sequence is only about 2 mins long - when I ty to Transcode using the engine within Encore - the process takes a ridiculously long time and twice it has crashed just before the end of the process......
Can someone explain why the encode process in Encore takes such a long time as I thought it used the Adobe Media encoder engine as well.?
Adobe Media Encoder is much faster used stand alone mode.
Encore seems to not use that ?
Anyway - conclusion is that using Encore to encode the tmeline is a non starter as it takes too long.
why so slow  on such a fast machine?....I know HD encoding is demanding but not that demanding with a decent machine.
    So the question is ....
How do I encode in the most efficient and fastest way possible (using H264)  for Blu Ray authoring into Encore without need for more Transcodes?
Any help or suggestions welcome as I'm now hitting my head against the wall :-)
    I have not gone through Adobe Support desk as it is usually a waste of time.{Dear VP of Adobe Customer Service - please do get this sorted out in the near future  if you want to retain loyal customers....}
I cannot believe how disappointing  CS4 is turning out to be.
After investing in a very fast PC machine etc the whole user experience is somewhat of a let down.
Why so many issues for such a small test??

Picking up on my original post about H264 - as I have a dual boot machine I also have a clean  installed Win 7 /64bit partition which I use for general bits of work.
On that I have CyberPowerDVD SW installed which plays all Video files fine including BluRay material etc.
Interestingly when I try to play the file that AME has created from the BluRay H264 preset it says 'It cannot play the file as it is a format it does not recognise...'
This is really weird and would suggest AME is not encoding the file corrrectly??
I have already removed and made a re-install of CS4 on my main [video editing] partition but there were some fragments of CS4 left intact
How do I completely remove everything?
I tried the CS4 clean script but it said it relied on Microsoft CLean Up utility and gave a link
When I loooked on Microsoft web site the link to download it had been removed?
Also Adobe say the CS4 remove script is no longer supported ?
Can anyone advise on the correct tool/procedure to completely remove CS4 from a Win 7/64bit installation so I can then try re-install of CS4 one more time....in case the installation is corrupt in some way
I can't explain why I am having this problem otherwise if other people find AME encodes OK with H264 BluRay preset.

  • Problems with blu-ray pop-up menus

I made the mistake of tacking this question/problem onto another similar post, so here it is again for some:
I got this error message near the end of the disc build:
Blu-ray Error: "fatal error". Code: "6", Note: "Graphics buffer underflows.
- Failed to multiplex with maximum IG PTS: 54900000 (in 90kHz).
The blu-ray project I am working on is an 87 min live concert with about 8 other much shorter timelines.  The main menu has 6 buttons with a motion background.  There are few submenus as well, but the problem came when I started making pop-up menus for the various timelines.
This is the first project where I really had to explore the possibliltes and limitations of Encore's pop-up menus.  I burned a test disc with just a basic pop-up menu to see how the menu's opacity would look over the final video.  All the video assets were set to to transcode "Automatically".  All audio assets are blu-ray compliant Surround ac3's or 16-bit stereo WAV's so could be left as "Don't Transcode".  This disc burned perfectly.
I then went through the pretty involved process of making a final version of the main pop-up menus.  The main concert's pop-up menu has 5 pages (including page 0).  There are specific pop-up menus for other timelines, but those have no more than 2 pages.  None of the menus have more than 10 buttons.
I tried to burn the disc, and it came back with the error above.  After reading some other posts, I thought it was worth a try to delete the AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder before starting a new burn since it was already filled with files from my test burn.  That didn't help.
Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

After countless tests and research, I finally have a successfully burned blu-ray with WORKING multi-page pop-up menus (that I am happy with).  Thank you to all the people who gave theoretical guidance and suggestions in emails and other posts.  There has been no shortage of oddities and obstacles to overcome when just trying to make a simple blu-ray.  Unfortunately,  I did not have the time to accurately pinpoint what was causing the original error message.  The project just needed to get done.
The main pop-up menu has 4 pages, with 13 buttons on each page.  Only about 5 - 9 of the "buttons" on each page are actual buttons that link anywhere.  The other buttons on each page only serve as the remaining pieces of the menu's background and cannot be accessed on the final disc.  Totally ridiculous way to make the backgrounds for pop-up menus, but it works.
Some of the other things I learned regarding pop-up menus + Encore misc:
    1.  If at all possible, totally create a menu .psd BEFORE bringing it into an Encore project.  Make the button order in the .psd what you want it to end up being in the end (bottom layer is button 1).  If you start editing and saving order after it has been brought in, Encore will almost always revert it back to some strange (possibly original) button order.  You will spend all your time re-routing button navigation and changing their numbers, only to find out later that Encore has changed it all back without notice.
    2.  As many people state, it is best to have Encore do as little thinking as possible.  All of my button groups originally had Text Layers within them with some fx applied.  I merged each text layer down into that button's background layer to essentially rasterize the text with the fx applied.  Each (+) button group therefore only had a higlight layer and a background layer.  After doing this for all the buttons, the .psd file size was greatly reduced.  Naturally I saved a copy before going through the merging process in case I ever had to go back and edit the text.
    3.  Originally the background for the pop-up menus were made from a rectangle cut-out of the background of the main menu.  This was the width of the frame and around 1/5 of the height.  I had changed the opacity to around 60%, and cut up the pieces to go with their respective buttons.  For the final disc, I just made a shape with the Rounded Rectangle Tool, and filled it with a solid colour.  It is probably only about half the size of the original pop-up menu's background.  I changed its opacity as well, but then merged it with a blank layer so Encore didn't have to think about the opacity setting.
    4.  I encoded all the video elements BEFORE they were brought into the project.  There are some issues with the way the file sizes are interpretted by Encore, but I won't trust it to encode anything again.
    5.  For some reason Encore wants to transcode 16-bit, 48.0 kHz .aiff files when making a blu-ray, but 16-bit, 48.0 kHz .wav files do NOT need trancoding (for both dvds and blu-rays).

  • Problems burning Blu-Ray DVD with Encore CS6 Creative Cloud version

I recently installed Premiere Pro CS6 from Creative Cloud on a high performance PC. Everything works fine but Encore Blu-Ray burn will not finallize... get error message after most of disc is burned. Have tried several burns without success. Same files burn okay with Cyberlink software. Seems to be a bug with CS6 Encore files.
Have tried with Cyberlink removed from machine.... same problem.
    Any suggestions??

The error is: Blu-ray Error, "device error", Code "3", Note, "AS-StorageError = 97071
I imported one HD Blu-Ray MPG file encoded in Premiere Pro for Blu-Ray DVD about 4GB in size.  It was set-up with simple "Play menu".  It burns up to the point of finalization, then the above error message occurs.
I insstalled a second Blu-Ray burner (different brand) and attempted another burn but with same error message.  Also tried different brand of discs.
I have a second computer that I had previously loaded the trial version of Permiere Pro CS6, then later opted to do complete install via Creative Cloud.   CS6 Encore will burn a Blu-Ray disc on this system with the same file without any problem or error messages.
It seems to be a problem with the Creative Cloud installation on the first computer???

  • Final Cut 7 - problems burning blu ray

    Hi
Got my final cut studio upgarde today. Looks quite nice. Having trouble to Share to a blu ray disk. Redering takes quite some time and during create disk the progress goes up to 60% and stops.
I use an LG Bluray burner with a SATA to ATA adaptor. No problems under MAC OS X or Toast.
    Any ideas or similar observations?
    Regards
    Rainer

My bad, it seems I did screw up the machine. I had some recent changes (ie: larger Harddisk, Studio upgrade and more) and besides the Bluray problem I did run into some other issues fe: not being able to shut down, start up problems etc. So I followed the instruction for the reset and voila the issue is resolved, FCP now even renders faster. Sorry I have to say that I am just a MAC user since one year and perhaps with a bit more experience I should have been able to resolve this much quicker.
But since the problem became visible juts after the upgrade I was sure it must have been coming form the software. I "shared" the HDV clip to blue ray, and after the much faster rendering the burning went fine.
    Regards

  • Problems playing blu-ray on Aspire V3-771G

I bought an V3-771G a few years ago but I have never used it to play a Blu-ray disc. I should do that today but i didn´t work at all :-(  The disc is read and clear.fi starts but the video dosen´t decode to anything but garbage. Static information like menues to select episode is shown after a while but video is just "noise". clear.fi is updated to the latest version using the "look for uptates" menu and a DVD will play correct. Any suggestions about the reason for this?

Yes - I installed a trial version of AnyMP4 and it played the disk without any problem. (There are also at least two Blu-ray stickers on the computer...) I can´t se any other explanation than a bug in Clear.fi? I don´t like to buy an additional software when I already paid for Clear.fi with the computer but maybe that´s the easiest solution.

  • Menu Problem with Blu Ray

Can anyone help? I've created a project that contains 2 edited movies. I have added a main menu, and given both movies a main menu marker, and an end marker. Normally on DVD's this would send you back to the main menu when each of the films were completed, but I cannot get this to work with Blu Ray. Am I missing something here? What happens in this case is that the Disc starts with the menu, but if you pick the first item, the film will play OK, but instead of reverting back to the main menu, it carries on and shows the next .. and on completion, just terminates - does not go to the menu. The same if you select the second item. it just plays through and terminates. It seems that the End markers are being ignored. Has anyone got any ideas ??

I recently bought an external  blu ray burner LG from what i gather it works with mac as it shows up when switched on also added a caldigit usb 3.0 pci for mac it shows up and says it is 3.0 the burner uses 3.0 tried to burn last night went through everyting as normal using toast but when it came time to burn got an error saying not a stable connection has anyone ever had this or any similer problems? My mac is an early 2009  Mac Pro with 6 gigs of ram running OS 10.9.1 i am at a loss as to what the problem is any advice would be helpfull thanks.

I had tried that before and worked the same everytime i tried to burn i get an error about not stable connection that is why i picked up the usb 3.0 i am guessing that it could be a firmware update for it could be the problem or maybe it could be not in the right pci port going to give booth a try later and see if any of these work.

  • Mainconcept Mpeg Pro HD and Encore transcode problems with blu-ray

I wanted to use premiere pro to edit my HDV files and import them into Encore to produce Blu-ray discs without transcoding. I have tried the Mainconcept Mpeg Pro HD plugin 3.1 as this should provide smart transconding of the edited file. I have been having difficulty in exporting from Premiere a file which will import into Encore and to flag it as don't transcode for blu-ray.
I have only been able to get Encore to not transcode if the file is demultiplexed into seperate video and audio files and that the video file must be a program stream. Unfortunatly I can only get Mpeg Pro to export a transport stream and I have to multiplex it onto a program stream for Encore.
Is there a way to export from Mpeg Pro with smart transcoding a file which will not be transcoded by Encore.
    Regards Trevor

If I choose the default BR disc export settings from the MainConcept MPEGPro export module, the file is automatically set to Multiplexing:None.
Is that what you are trying to do?
Another method to try is to make sure that the audio settings in a program stream from MPEGPro match the BR audio transcoding settings in Encore. If the audio is mismatched, then the whole file will be re-transcoded in Encore.
