Rollover and clickboxes

Does anyone know whether or not it's possible to use a
rollover image and a clickbox on the same spot? Have tried
everything I can think of. Basically i want to move the mouse over
a drop down menu, see the desired area highlighted, and then click
it. Can't seem to get all these steps onto one slide.

I have found no direct way to do this, though I have found an
indirect way.
Create a blank captivate presentation, I usually use the
smallest setting I can but you may want to make it the size of your
other movie. Set up one slide with the text and the rollover
images. Publish this as a swf and import the swf into the main
movie. Add your click boxes, make sure you put them behind the
animation though or the rollovers probably won't be visiable

  • What is rollover and its concept in sql server ? And what is the concept of IAO?

    would someone please tell me what is rollover and what is its concept?
    another question is what is IAO in sql server?
    Thanks in advance
    sqlfan

    Hi sqlfan,
    Question 1: what is rollover and what is its concept?
    In SQL Server, when we set a maximum file size for a trace file there is an option called rollover. The file rollover option causes SQL Server to close the current trace file and create a new file when the maximum file size is reached. With the file rollover
    option on, the trace continues until it is stopped by some other means. And we can disable the file rollover option to stop the trace after we have reached the file size limit. For more information about this option, please refer to the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191206.aspx
    Question 2: what is IAO in sql server?
    Base on my research, IAO may stand for Information Awareness Office (IAO), which is created in response to the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, is a branch of the United States Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) that aims to gather massive amounts
    of intelligence through electronic sources in order to help avert terrorist acts in the future. It may not have direct relationship with SQL Server.
    If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Rollover and rollout animation

    I am using the rollover and rollout features to get a slide up and down kind of button panel.  However when I rollover each of the three section (it's divided into three panes) it gets really twitchy and won't do the roll up and down smoothly are do it at all.  Any suggestions, link attached

    thanks

    Hi, wolfaw-
    Looks like you're hitting upon the fact that mouseover fires whenever the mouse moves over the object.  Instead of using mouseover and mouseout, try using mouseenter and mouseleave.  I think those will do what you want it to do.

  • Can Captivate 3 Support a Rollover and a Custom Button in the Same Area?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a functionality in a slide that includes both a custom button and a rollover text box.  I'd like both the button and the text box to occupy the same area and trigger off the same MouseOver action.
    I'm finding that only one or the other will trigger on the MouseOver.  It seems like only the top-most object (whether it is the button or the rollover text box) will trigger on the MouseOver.
    I've considered multiple workarounds, but each of them I've thought about tend not to fail for one reason or another.  Here's what I've considered so far:
    Create a rollover slidelet.
              *  I can't find a way to import a button into the rollover slidelet.  Also, I can't use a rollover image in the slidelet because I need the _down, _up, and _over states.
    Create a button with transparent properties outside the bounds of the actual button to include the rollover text.
              *  Since I have so many buttons in a row, there's no way to exclude certain portions of the button that might overlap the rest of the buttons.  Also, I don't want people to MouseOver where the text box might be to enable the button.
    Create a click to jump to the button.
              *  This sacrifices the true functionality of the simulation.
    Finally, I don't want to use any other program other than the Captivate series of programs to complete this action.  I know I can import an animation, but I currently can't support that as a solution.
    I'm guessing that I've reached a Captivate limitation.  However, I figured I'd give a last ditch effort to see if there's anything out there that might be a clever workaround I can't figure out.
    So, what do you all think?
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi again
    I would then surmise you find yourself upstream with no visible means of propulsion.
    Please consider submitting a Wish Form to ask for this capability to be considered in the next version. (Link is in my sig)
    I'm not sure how many folks would actually realize there are three states. The down state happens so briefly it's hardly noticeable.

  • How do I get this rollover and click effect ?

    Hi,
    I have found a template which I rather do like. I was wondering if someone knew the coding to make some of the effects used possible.
    The aforementioned template - http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/33686.html
    The effects:
    1. When you roll over the images they enlarge? What is the code or option that allows me to do this in Flash?
    annnd,
    2. When you click on one of the images it allows for a portfolio to load. If you visit the site and click on one of the options you will understand. How is this effect done?
    Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    To enlarge something in Flash using code you simultaneously increase the height/width or scaleX/scaleY (AS3) properties of the object.  To animate the size increase gradually you would use tweenng code.  To have it happen using a rollover you assign an event listener to the object for a ROLL_OVER event.  There would be something similar at work for a ROLL_OUT event to make the object reduce back to normal.
    The appearance of a portfolio (or any section) involves animating it into place from off stage. To do this with code involves gardually adjusting the x (horizontal position) property of the object, again using tweening to get a smooth animation.  To have it happen using a click you assign an event listener to the object for a CLICK event.

  • Rollover and click event with symbols keyframed in timeline

    Concerning the active state of rollover(mouseenter/mouseleave) buttons in Edge. I've set up a grid style animation with symbols.
    I've got the composition, triggers, labels, mouseenter and mouseleave with symbols working just the way I'd like but my issue is keeping the button active after clicking and the mouse leaving. As it is now, when the mouse is clicks it plays the animation I want but when the mouse leaves the button doesn't stay 'active' indicating the portion of the grid the user is seeing. And adversely when the user clicks a different button the previous 'active' button needs to be 'inactive'. I'm useing keyframes of the color value, black to white, white to black with labels on the timeline.
    What is the method or code to accomplish this?

  • Help on rollOver and publishing work

    hi
    it's hwa-jun again.
    This topic needs help on rollOver problem and about
    publishing work.
    Everytime I check mouse interaction with certain sprite using
    rollOver, director checks by the sprite's bounding box. How
    do I make it checks
    by pixels, to make the sprite react when my mouse is over
    the sprite's pixel, not around it's bounding box?
    I've done a simple game, now I want to publish it into
    a stand alone application with protected casts. It didn't
    turn out good the first time I tried. I'm gonna read more help and
    retry. Is there any technical issue related to this problem? Oh
    yah, I also had a problem with the
    fullscreen setting. The application is not "fully
    fullscreen" and I can see my project's title bar. How am I supposed
    to do with that?
    Please anyone post a helping reply. Thank you.

    about my bitmap.. It is a png file with transparent
    background. I export the files from Flash. Because its background
    is already transparent, I leave the ink setting to Copy. I got a

  • Disjointed rollover and jQuery (CS4)

    Hi there,
    I made a simple page that starts with a gif animation, when the animation is done, a div fades up and quickly after that another div fades up, both using jQuery. This last div holds just an image. Now I have to change that image for a simple disjointed rollover (show/hide) so that on mouseover a second image is shown. I made that rollover in FireWorks CS4 and exported it as html and images. Then I inserted the html of the rollover in place and did a preview and ouch, everyting is broken. The first hidden div doens't fade up and the second div is shown from the start. How do I fix this?

    I made that rollover in FireWorks CS4 and exported it as html and images.
    It's a huge mistake to rely on graphics apps to generate HTML code and scripts for you.  For best results, use DW to build your HTML & rollover behaviors.  Use graphics apps for images only.
    everyting is broken. The first hidden div doens't fade up and the second div is shown from the start.
    Evidently, you have script conflicts or some other egregious code errors that are killing your page.
    Validate your code:

         HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
    How do I fix this?
    No way to tell without seeing your page.  To simplify things, you could try a CSS Rollover method rather than another JavaScript.

  • Rollover and swap image

    Hi, I've created a rollover image that also replaces another
    image elsewhere when rolled over. The original rollover does not
    return to it's original state on roll out.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Chris
    <td width="100" height="20"><a
    href="philosophy/philosophy.htm" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"

    name="philosophy" width="100" height="20" border="0"

    Do not use the automatic restore.
    Apply a standard mouseover rollover to image1 to swap in
    image1b and to swap
    image2 to image2b. Do not enable the restore option. Make the
    event
    onmouseover.
    Apply a second image swap behavior to swap image1 back to
    image1, and image2
    back to image2. Do not enable the restore option. Make the
    event
    onmouseout.
    I note from your code that you have applied TWO onmouseover
    events for the
    original swap. Don't do that. Apply the behavior once, but
    make that one
    application swap both images, i.e., do not swap one image,
    click OK, and
    apply it again. Swap the first image, then find and select
    the second
    image, and swap it as well before clicking OK.

  • Rollover and change colour

    Hi
    I would like to change colour of a text when the mouse rolls
    over, and when the mouse has passed it should go back to normal. Is
    this possible? I have found the behaivor "rollover member change"
    and used two identical texts with different colours, but cant make
    it work. Is this the right way? Thanks for helping! /emma

    You could attach a behavior to the sprite on the stage such
    as this. It would change the text to red when the mouse is over the
    sprite.
    property pMem
    property pColor
    property pColorOver
    on beginSprite me
    pMem = sprite(me.spriteNum).member
    pColor = pMem.color
    pColorOver = rgb(255,0,0)
    end
    on mouseEnter me
    pMem.color = pColorOver
    end
    on mouseLeave me
    pMem.color = pColor
    end

  • Frustrated rollover and ring to front

    I know this seems basic, but after hours of trying I am going
    to give up. I have a bunch of buttons that overlap each other, (i
    can't just use button symbols) so I am trying to use script. I made
    a movie: ballet_mc and put in this code on the first frame inside
    ballet_mc:
    stop();
    on (rollOver) {
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    the rollover animation starts on frame 2. But this does not
    work, it just plays over and over even though I don't rollover it
    with my mouse. what am i doing wrong?
    Also, I can't use button symbols because these overlap each
    other. So, is there some kind of Bring to Front code I can use?
    I don't know how to write it, but it would essentially say
    "on rollover bring ballet_mc to the front" sorry about the newbie
    questions but I am sitting here reading a couple books and just
    getting errors, any help is appreciated.

    Oh there are so many things wrong with this that I bairly
    know where to begin. (I mean this in a friendly way.)
    First. Using the on(event) type syntax is a technique from
    Flash 5 days and should have died out in 2002 with the introduction
    of Flash 6. But it has hung on. However the ability to put code
    directly onto clips has been removed in AS3 so it if you plan to
    continue on with Flash and coding it is a good idea to break
    yourself of that style of coding. Here is a really good article
    about it.
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2006/flash/museum-pieces-on-and-onclipevent
    Additionally you mention you have several symbols that all
    need the same type of rollover action so putting code on a frame
    will be much simpler and easier to maintain.
    In cases where I'm learning new things I find it easier if I
    set aside my current project and make a simpler test case and then
    reapply what I've learned to my actual project. I would really
    recommend that here. So let's create a brand new FLA and put three
    of your movieclip "buttons" onto the stage.
    Give each one an instance name of something like, myClip0,
    myClip1, and myClip2. Start with zero. I know it is hard and people
    really hate to start counting at zero, but if you are going to
    program you need to learn to do that! I also know that you had
    descriptive names for these, but it is a lot easier just to count
    that to go through descriptive names. Later I'll sho you how to get
    a description back out if you need it.
    I'm assumign that all of the myClips have the animation
    starting on frame 2? And that they all should start the animation
    on rollover? So make sure you don't have any of the clips selected
    and select the frame on the main timeline. Open the AS window. Make
    sure that it says "Actions- Frames" at the top. If it doesn't you
    have selected something on the stage. Go back and make sure that
    you only have the frame selected.
    So now we can put the code that will tell your clips what to
    do!
    var numClips:Number=3;
    for(var i=0;i<numClips;i++){
    var curClip:MovieClip=this["myClip"+i];
    curClip.gotoAndStop(1);
    curClip.onRollOver=clipOver;
    curClip.onRollOut=clipOut;
    curClip.onReleaseOutSide=clipOut;
    curClip.onRelease=clipRelease;
    curClip.ID=i;
    Okay, so let's look at that. What does it mean? First I set a
    variable called numClips. That is how many clips I have on stage.
    This will make it easier if later you want to change it to 7 or 10
    or 100!
    Then I start a for loop. It is going to start at zero
    (counting from zero is good!) and go up to numClips (but not
    including). So in this case i will be 0 then 1 and finally 2.
    Inside the loop I do the following things. I create a
    temporary reference to a movieclip. This is by saying look inside
    this (the current timeline/object) for an item that is called
    "myClip" plus the variable. So the first time it is looking for
    myClip0 then next time myClip1 and so on.
    After it gets that temporary reference it sends that clip to
    frame 1 and stops it there. That is so that the movieclip won't
    keep playing over and over.
    Next I want to assign a function to each of the different
    mouse events. These are like the on(event) code you were using
    before, but it allows you to do them all at once and make sure they
    are all the same. Notice that some are assigned the same function
    some are different. The function names on the right side of the
    equals sign could have any names you want, but I gave them ones
    that I thought were pretty memorable and easy to understand.
    Finally at the end I give each clip a property/variable called ID
    and assigned the value of i to it. In this case the property on the
    left side could have been called anything, but I wanted it to be
    something memorable to me.
    This loop will go around 3 times and assign the exact same
    functions to each of the three clips.
    Okay so far so good. Ya still with me? Of course we haven't
    said what those different functions are going to do yet. So let's
    make the first one!
    below the loop add the following code to your frame.
    function clipOver(){
    trace("Rolling over "+this);
    this.gotoAndPlay(2);
    function clipOut(){
    trace("Rolling out "+this);
    this.gotoAndStop(1);
    Okay, so what are those all about? Well the function will be
    called each time there is an event for one of the clips. The trace
    isn't needed to make it work, it is just to help you see what is
    going on. So publish and try it. You will notice that the function
    gives the full name of the clip you have rolled over. so that is
    why this.gotoAndPlay(2) tells only the clip that you have rolled
    over to go and play.
    Now when you try this out you might notice that the clips
    don't come to the front when you rollOver them. So we should add
    something to the overClip function. Just add the following line
    inside that function
    this.swapDepths(1000);
    That says take the current clip and put it on depth 1000. If
    there is a clip already at 1000, put it where this one came from.
    If you want to know more about depths in Flash here is a useful
    article.
    http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/depths.htm
    Finally if you needed to have names or something different
    that 0, 1, 2 etc. for your clips. Here is a way to do this. At the
    start (just before or after the numClips line) add the following
    line.
    var myClipNames:Array=["ballet","opera","football"]
    Or whatever descriptions you need for your clips. Now lets
    make each button say its name when you click it. So down with the
    functions add another function
    function onRelease(){
    trace("You've clicked "+this);
    trace("My name is "+myClipNames[this.ID]);
    Again the traces are only so you can see what is going on.
    You would maybe want to replace that code with some specific
    actions based upon which button was clicked. But let's look closer
    at that second trace. What this is doing is telling flash to get
    the ID of the current clip. Remember we assigned that value during
    that first loop so it will have a value of 0, 1, or 2. It is also
    part of the name myClip0 and so forth but it is just easier to get
    a number and use it that to break apart a name and try and use
    that.
    So we have this.ID which is a number and we are saying look
    inside the array called myClipNames for the element 0, 1, or 2
    depending. Arrays in Flash start with the first item at position
    zero, the second at one and so on. That is why we want to start
    counting at zero! Arrays are really useful and if you use them you
    need to start with zero.
    So how is all that? Done your head in yet? Give it a shot and
    come back and I'm sure you'll have more questions.

  • Forward Contracts Rollover and Cash Settlement

    Hi,
    We have done a forward contract USD - INR at 50.00 and then done the rollover at new rate 52.00. In the rollover transaction which was done at the rate 52.00, we also need to do the cash settlement of the original booking transaction as the original transaction is logically cancelled and the new transaction is booked.
    The cash settlement is done at say  49.00. In this case the cash settlement amount should be (50.00 - 49.00) where as the system is calcuating the cash settlement amount as (52.00 - 49.00)
    Should I use the cash settlement functionality of the booking transaction. Please suggest.
    An help in this regard will be sincerely appreciated.
    Warm regards,
    Akhil Poddar

    Hi,
    You are going for cash settlement, it means you are now cancelling the old transaction. The system is giving 52-49 because you have rollove the transaction it means you have exceed the maturity time of the contract, it means now your exchange rate changed to 52 from 50, the differenc is captured here and when you have passed cash settlemented with 49, system compare it with 52 a new rate.when you see the GL after passing all the entries you will find the result is  50-49 only.
    If you want one to one relation, pass cash settlement and create new transaction,
    Regards
