Rollover color?

I have a flash menu that isn't made with buttons, but with one tween and it has a glow effect on rollover, it also expands. Is there any way to change the color of the text when it's rolled over (like it expands and glows). Here's the code for the rollover:
import flash.filters.GlowFilter;
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
// Creates a variable with info about the Filter settings
var myGlowFilter = new GlowFilter (0xFFFFFF, 2, 15, 15, 6, 100, false, false);
this.onRollOver = function()
this.filters = [myGlowFilter];
this.gotoAndPlay(2)
this.onRollOut = function()
this.filters = null
this.gotoAndPlay(11)
this.onRelease = function()
//Action code
Thank

I guess I should have put that I am relatively new to flash and this basic menu was made by someone else. I don't know how to write a textformat instance. Can you tell me how?
Actually, from what I'm discovering, this menu was made in a very weird way, it wasn't done with individual mc buttons, but all in one tween.
the script in frame 1 reads as this:
btn1.btnName = "name1"
btn2.btnName = "name2"
btn3.btnName = "name3"
btn4.btnName = "name4"
btn5.btnName = "name5"
btn6.btnName = "name6"
btn7.btnName = "name7"
btn8.btnName = "name8"
btn9.btnName = "name9"
and only 1 mc and one tween.
So HOW...do I get these buttons to act independently from one another without having to re-create the whole menu? This is done in AS2. I basically want to have the rollover color change and I'd also like to make it so that the image stays enlarged when the user clicks on it and the page changes....but the way I have it right now is embedded on each page....should this menu be put into the css and all pulled from the same source?
Thanks a bunch!

• Remove Flex DataGrid Heading Rollover Color

To do what you want to do requires a fair amount of work as the rollover color is set as a style, you can change the color but it seems the rollover can't be disabled(not without a custom datagrid).
A quick fix is to try and at least reduce the difference in the rollover color, this could be done as per below, which basically makes the rollover color the same as the lighter shade of the header gradient.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

import mx.events.FlexEvent;
protected function appHandler(event:FlexEvent):void
var colors:Array = dg.getStyle("headerColors");
dg.setStyle("rollOverColor",colors[0]);
]]>
</mx:Script>

• Alter css stylesheet to change rollover colors

I know how to change the rollover colors for links that I've created myself using the inspector, than links/format tabs. But I'm customizing a blog using the notebook template, mostly because I liked the font that it used more than the other blogs. I'm not a big fan of the colors for the text and so I'd like to change the rollover text colors to #1f1a15 (normal) and 87595d (rollover). Is there come sort of stylesheet that I can alter so that the headline text for each entry on the blog home page (and in the archive) and the add a comment link at the end of each entry will match my color scheme?
PS - I'd give you a link to the blog, but I can't publish it right now for some reason and I can't figure out what it is

I don't think you can do it for blog pages and they don't take kindly to post publishing editing. I don't have a blog but all of the questions I've seen about modifying blogs were answered by those in the know as "No". You will lose your comments.
Not if it's a new blog with no comments as yet you might be able to do it but if you had to ever make any changes to it via iWeb those rollover changes would be lost. I'd wait till one of those with experience with blog pages and changing css files respond to either confirm my post or shoot it down.

• My iWeb links don't reflect the correct 'rollover' color once published.

On one of my sites (I have several 'practice' ones that I use before publishing the real one), the hyperlinks don't show the formatted 'rollover' color or underline as I set them in the Inspector. The setting is exactly the same as my other pages, but on this site the rollover works fine in the editing phase, but upon publishing the pages, the links work, but the color doesn't change nor does the underline appear. Any ideas?

Recheck the formatting by selecting only a part of the hyperlink instead of the whole word. I had that problem once and it took me a while to figure out that my formating while applied to the whole link I had somehow not selected the whole text. I know this does not seem to make sense but try to select it differently and look at your formating window to see if it makes a difference.

• Disabling rollover color in TileList component

I have a TileList where I want to completely disable the

Set the useRollOver style to false.

• Rollover Color Doesn't Cover Link Text Completely

Hello,
I created a rollover color for a link on my website. However, when I rollover it the color doesn't fully change. The initial color is white and the rollover color is #222 (or almost black). When rolling over, some of the edges of the words don't fully change color. I have attached a picture for better reference.
Thanks so much!

I'm not seeing what you describe ANYWHERE on the site. All the rollover links work with no discrepancies that I can see. I checked with Firefox 22 and Safari 6 on Mac OS X as well as IE 10 Win8, and IE 9 Win7.
Could be a hardware issue on your system that's not rendering the effect. I had an old e-machine that would turn double borders into a big fat single border because the onboard video couldn't render it properly.

• Having trouble with cutomizing hyperlink rollover color, visited, etc...

i can create a hyperlink, then when i go to "format" i see i have options to change the rollover color (visited, etc.) but when i try to change anything, nothing works... it's all greyed out... any thoughts...?

The formatting only work if you're selecting text as your hyperlink. If you've selected something else the formatting will be grayed out. So make sure you've selected text before going to the Link pane.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

• Styling the TabBar rollover color *without* skin

Hello all,
I'm styling the flex TabBar using Adobe flex explorer, and
facing a very annoying problem while trying to set the rollOver
color of the tabs.
At first place I thought I could set the rollover color using
the tabStyleName's fillColors style, but this style can only get 2
colors that determines the default bg color, unlike the ButtonBar,
whose fillColors can get 4 colors where the last 2 determines the
rollover colors.
Since TabBar extends ButtonBar, I thought that instead of
using the .tabStyleName I could use the buttonStyleName , in which
I can define rollover colors with the fillColors style which
receives 4 colors, where the last two, determines the rollover
color, as the buttonStyleName has no effect on the tabs.
This is a link to a demo project that illustrates the
problem:
http://files-upload.com/files/616415/TabsRolloverColor.rar
I will be very glad to get some ideas to get around this.
Thanks a lot,
Almog.

You can include the email parameters. As far as having the link behave like a link and change colors, that cannot be done with a static textfield as far as I know. By its nature static text doesn't change.

• Thumbnail Gallery, remove spacing and rollover color

Hello,
I am creating a gallery and would like there to be no space at all between thumbnails (see Photoshop image attached), I cannot seem to get rid of the space, is this possible in Muse?
Is there a way to make the thumbnail highlight with the yellow color at 75% opacity when I rollover? I tried playing around with the rollover states in the fill, but could not get this working either.
Also, this is just a wishlist item, but I wish I could create a gallery using the the fast lightbox method bundled with Muse, however have the flexibility to define my own thumbnails, say by going into the fill and defining a different image for the thumbnails, I could see this opening up more interesting possibilities. Just a thought.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The slideshow widget doesn't give you the option to close the gap inbetween thumbnails.
You could use the "Blank Composition" widget in the "Compositions" widget library.
It allows you to modify the thumbnails, and also allows you to have a different image than the hero image.
There are limitiations, it is more time consuming to assemble, since you have to import each image in separately. there also is no counter and no ability to edit together.

• JButton and Changing Hover/Rollover Colors

Hello all,
I have a JFrame with JButtons that I set to a different color with: button.setForeground(Color.gray);
However, when I hover, rollover, or click there is an annoying blue color. I'm sure this is a very easy question. But I couldn't find anything in the API.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Not sure it will help, but you can try
button.setFocusPainted(false);

• Component rollover color change

I am using the checkbox component and I want to change the
color of the default green that I get when I rollover the
component. How is that done?
I have the following to style my component otherwise. Is this
the right way to do it? Or should I create a combined declaration?
this.checkBox.label = "Subscribe to Mailing List";
this.checkBox.setStyle("fontWeight", "bold");
this.checkBox.setStyle("color","0x000000");
this.checkBox.setStyle("fontSize","10")

I figured it out:
this.checkBox.setStyle("themeColor","0x000000");
Thanks!

• CHANGING THE ROLLOVER COLOR

Hi Friends,
I got a template off the internet which I am using to design my webpage..but for some reason i dont know where to find the area to change the colour of the rollover in the template? The rollover is not an image - just plain text.
have a look at pic attached. Basically when I rollover the text for eg: portfolio, the word "portfolio" changes from Blue to white. How do I change the rollover from white to another colour??? I cant find it I am sure its a simple solution.
Any help will give me face of stoke!
Cheers
Wes

You change the style definition. Look for something like a:hover in the style inside the document or the CSS that comes with it. If you can provide the code/ a link to the page, we can be more specific.

• Creating rollover colors in fonts

Hi, I'm new to CS5. I've got 13 years on Hot Metal Pro V6.1 by SoftQuad, now out of business. But, I've got one or two
"beginner" type questions.
I need to make a short line of font light up from white to orange when I mouse over it.
I've seen the video demo of how to do it in Ill or Photoshop, but was wondering if there is a better or quicker way than
going insert>insert objects>roll over Image.
Okay, I'm all out of stupid questions for the evening.
Thanks so much for you help.

Wow, that's a blast from the past. I remember beta testing Hot Metal back in the 90's.
