  • Using Web Widgets in iWeb to Create meta tags???

    I am using iWeb '08 version 2.0.3
    There is a feature in iWeb 08 to add HTML snippets (when you click on the button at the bottom "Web Widgets".
    I have added some Meta tags on each of my pages, for example (my keywords & descriptions have different content, this is an example):
    <META NAME="Description" CONTENT="this is my description">
    <META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="these are my keywords">
    <title>this is my title</title>
    <meta name="robots" content="index,follow">
    <meta name="GOOGLEBOT" content="INDEX, FOLLOW">
    I published to a folder, then pushed the code out to my site. When I view the source code, I do not see any of these tags on any of my pages (I put this on all of my pages).
    My question is why is this not showing up? I can certainly add this content via dreamweaver, but that would be a pain as every time I update my site, I would have to publish to a folder and then, in dreamweaver, put the code out there again on each page. What a pain in the a*@!
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Because whatever you add to HTML Snippet is actually added to another page called widget#_markup.html .
    iWeb then link this widget#_markup page to the main page with a iframe, this is the same reason why google analytics javascript and statcounter javascript don't track correctly when add in HTML Snippet.
    You better off using some scriptable applications or AppleScript to do post editing.

  • Form not working using web widget

    I took a form from my current web site (www.oceangetaways.com) and copied the html source code into the html snippet (web widget) on the site I am designing on Iweb. Everything worked except the Submit button is missing. I do not know html - can anyone look at this and tell me what I may be missing - the new form is at http://web.mac.com/oceangetaways/OceanGetaways/How_ToBook.html. Just remember this is a work in progress.. Thansk

    The form rendered fine in Safari, but short in Firefox. You can see the submit button if you hit Command - (minus) in FF (reduce font size).
    You need to extend content height in page inspector a bit further down below the submit button.
    You also need to config your cgi on your dreamhost side.

  • Blank images using Web Journal

    I've uploaded a Web Journal (around 4 hours!) and 4 of the images are blank/black (both the thumbnail and the main image).
    Any ideas on the best way of fixing this problem. I'm loathed to just republish as I'm sure the same images will appear blank.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Rollover images using image maps

    image, and i have about 4 image maps on it. what i want is for
    everytime you roll over on of them, a new layer (which are hidden)
    pops up. Would that be possible using image maps?
    i cant seem to figure out how to use the behavior panel to do
    this

    Yes.
    > i cant seem to figure out how to use the behavior panel
    to do this
    Select the mapped area. Apply the Show/Hide Layer behavior.

  • Web widget http insert does't show up

    I used web widget on my draft site. Then published the site to my hard drive, opened the site and viewed source code. The insert was not there. tried multiple time. It is a meta name I need to add to get verified by google. How do Insert http line if not by web widget?
    Thanks

    When you add custom code with the HTML Snippet, iWeb creates a widget-markup.html file with that code.
    You find that file in the pagename-files folder.
    A JavaScript loads that page.
    You cannot add [META|http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/head/meta.html] data with the HTML Widget.
    Such code is added to the [HEAD|http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/head/head.html] section of a webpage. You have to manually add it with a HTL Editor of your choice after publishing your page.

  • Capture an image using the web camera from a web application

    Hi All,
    Could anyone please share the steps what have to be followed for capture an image using the web camera from a web application.
    I have a similar requirement like this,
    1) Detect the Webcam on the users machine from the web application.(To be more clear when the user clicks on 'Add Photo' tool from the web application)
    2) When the user confirms to save, save the Image in users machine at some temporary location with some unique file name.
    3) Upload the Image to the server from the temporary location.
    Please share the details like, what can be used and how it can be used etc...
    Thanks,
    Suman

    1) Detect the Webcam on the users machine from the web application.(To be more clear when the user clicks on 'Add Photo' tool from the web application)There's not really any good way to do this with JMF. You'd have to somehow create a JMF web-start application that will install the native JMF binaries, and then kick off the capture device scanning code from the application, and then scan through the list of devices found to get the MediaLocator of the web cam.
    2) When the user confirms to save, save the Image in users machine at some temporary location with some unique file name.You'd probably be displaying a "preview" window and then you'd just want to capture the image. There are a handful of ways you could capture the image, but it really depends on your situation.
    3) Upload the Image to the server from the temporary location.You can find out how to do this on google.
    All things told, this application is probably more suited to be a FMJ (Freedom for Media in Java) application than a JMF application. JMF relies on native code to capture from the web cams, whereas FMJ does not.
    Alternately, you might want to look into Adobe Flex for this particular application.

  • Spry Horizontal menu using rollover images

    I see there are a lot of posts about spry menus and problems in IE. I wasnt sure if my problem is the same as the others, so my apologies if it's redundant. I'm working on a site with rollover images in the top menu of a spry menu bar with drop downs that fall below three of the menu items. Everything looks good in Mac/Win Firefox and Mac Safari. In Win IE 8 the menus go horizontally, left to right, instead of falling below the top level item as they should.
    The site is here: http://tinyurl.com/y8dxo8m
    The Spry CSS is here: http://tinyurl.com/yd8yhem
    Should I not be using rollover images with the Spry menu? I've spent quite a bit of time on trying to solve this, including attempting to rebuild the menu from scratch.

    I Paty, I just inserted the Dreamweaver rollover into the navigation. I'm not sure if that's the best approach to achieve what i wanted out of my design, but it seems to work. I checked it in Adobe's Browserlab and it works across all browsers. I'm looking into purchasing the Project7 product. It's not a lot of money and seems easier to work with for embedded graphics than the spry software. I spent way too much time with the spry trying to get the nav to look like I wanted it to while working in all browsers.

  • I am using CS6 and when I go to save an image for Web the image does not retain its quality

    I am using CS6 and when I go to save an image for Web the image does not retain its quality. The first week I did this it worked just fine and now the images save very pixely.
    Here is a screenshot of my image on the artboard as I am editing it
    Here is a screenshot of the image as I'm trying to save it for Web
    As you can see, the image becomes pixely. I have tried to save it as every type of png and jpeg but nothing seems to work. I have no idea why it has started to do this. Please help!

    Change None to Art optimized then click apply(alteast in CS5 there was an apply, believe they removed that in CS6 as so many people missed that part).

  • Using Photoshop SDK to merge images in Web Application

    Hi,
    More of a query than an issue. We have an ASP.NET Web application - and our client has asked that we provide the facility to merge two images on the site. Basically, a user uploads their photo to the site - and then can choose to insert it into an e.g. postcard of the Eiffel tower.
    So, we use image layers - where we use Photoshop to create the Eiffel Tower postcard - and then the website user's image is layered behind that in a particular location.
    So, the question - can we use the Photoshop SDK to integrate with ASP.NET to take the website user's image and insert it into the appropriate position on the Eiffer Tower postcard image (using layers).
    Any other suggestion?
    NiallC

    The idea of using Photoshop to power a web application is scary. I
    think Adobe have more suitable tools for this environment (without
    user interface) though I can't bring any names to mind.

  • Using WEB Output HTML Gallery and uploading using ftp upload the HTML page views correctly but images only display the alt tag?

    Using WEB Output HTML Gallery and uploading using ftp upload the HTML page views correctly but images only display the alt tag in the browser window?

    After a little investigation, I discovered that PNGs also do not render correctly in IE7 in similar circumstances.
    I ended up using Levels in Photoshop to bring the output blacks up to "5", saved the images as PNGs, modified the HTML from .jpg to .png, and that seems to have covered up the problem well enough.
    By the way, I did confirm that IE8 beta 2 renders the images correctly.

  • Using fireworks rollover images in flash

    I'm trying to create the best way to use a series of fireworks rollover images in Flash and was hoping some flash gurus had ideas.  I'm creating a photo album of sorts in flash, except when you click to bring up a photo, you can mouse over certain parts and have the text labels on the images change.  I have a lot of images and therefore a lot of rollovers.  I have a central layer called 'content' where the images get displayed.  What is the best way to include these rollovers in my flash documnet?

    Well guess what, it doesn't:
    http://www.ctc-belgium.be/TEMP/test.cfm
    This is the code (images are in the same subfolder):
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
    Transitional//EN" "
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="

    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=utf-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <cfform format="flash" action="../upload.cfm"
    style="background-image:ero1.jpg;
    background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:top right;
    text-align:center; border:1 solid black;">
    <img src="ero2.jpg" />
    </cfform>

  • Using Deployed Engine Categories with the Web Widget

    We use the categories of our deployed engines as part of our custom requests to the Translator API. We currently don't use the Web Widget, but...
    Does the same "category" value apply to the the customized category attribute of the Translator Widget?
    If so, what happens when a language pair is selected that does not have a deployed system with the provided category? Does the category default back to "general" in that case?
    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
    indeed, you can remove the label or use the same label across languages - that has the same effect. I recommend to not use a label. Unless you need to build different systems for the same language pair, in the same workspace.
    Yes, you'll have to retrain. That's not a big deal: simply clone the training with a new name, without the label, and then train and deploy in a single step.
    Let us know how it goes,

  • Possible to Use Animated GIF as Rollover Image?

    Before I spend a lot of time on development...does anyone
    know if it's possible to use an animated GIF as a rollover image in
    Captivate? I'm developing an e-Learning course for a
    Sarbannes-Oxley application, and I want to be able to hover over an
    object, then have a rollover graphic describe the hover target in
    more detail...the catch being that I want the description to look
    like a scrolling stock ticker.
    I'm sure Flash is probably the ideal development environment
    for this idea, but that project is way beyond my Flash skills at
    this point...
    Thanks!

    I know you can load and display a PNG image just the way you do for a GIF/JPEG one :
    ImageIcon myIcon = new ImageIcon("my_icon.png");but I don't think many others formats are recognized by j2se... you can simply try to load a BMP file to find out.
