Rollover problems in DW8

Hi,
I'm new to DW and to web development in general.
I'm building a site using a template that I purchased as a
starting point. Each page has a menu bar across the top which uses
a piece of javascript to change the menu image when the user moves
the mouse pointer over it. These rollovers work fine in both
Firefox and IE6, except...
I've created some pages which are identical except that
they're in a subfolder rather than being in the same root folder as
the index.html file. On these pages, the rollover doesn't work - if
you click the menu items the links still work, but the image
doesn't change on rollover. Thikning that it might be because the
relative location of the javascript file has changed, I've tried
moving this and putting a separet copy of the script in the same
subfolder as the html page, but it still doesn't work.
All my images are in a single subfolder which is in turn in
the site root folder. Unfortunately I can't provide a link as the
site hasn't yet been uploaded.
Grateful for any help - thanks,
Rob

Investigate using a server-side include to solve your "every

This is only a local problem.

And, you can delete the script reference.

    Major stroke and rollover problem.
    Muse5 CC
On images I applied 6px inside stroke in rollover state.
On rollover in both preview mode and browser previews the image moves from its top left corner and overlaps the stroke.
Both when images are place inside a blank composition or anywhere basically.
On the composition frame also 6pix stroke were applied.

  • IE Rollover Problem in Frame

I would appreciate assistance in resolving a rollover problem
which exists only in all versions of IE but works fine in FF,
Opera, Safari, and Chrome. You can see the page at
    http://www.moriel.org/Moriel_USA/Moriel_USA.html.
This is a frameset where the rollover menu in the left
sidebar automatically loads the page in the main section to the
right. In IE it loads the rollover on the wrong line (1 below where
it should be) but still correctly loads the page on the right.
I'm sure I'm not the first to experience this but just can't
seem to locate the solution. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Pardon me for saying this but that is simply an awful way to
    make a website.
It suffers from all of the usual disadvantages of frames
    (there is no reason
at all for using them here), in addition to the fact that
    each rollover
required an entirely new page to load in the central frame
    (i.e., long -
    LONG - delay).
In addition, your use of Java on one of the pages ensures
    that a great many
of your visitors will not see the contents there. That,
    combined with your
use of an all javascript menu in the top navigation frame -
    <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2"
    src="../Scripts/MainNav.js"></script>
means that your site won't be spidered at all. Sorry - but I
    think your
site layout architecture defeats the very purpose of the
    site.
I don't see any rollover problem in IE7.

  • Rollover problem with IE7

    http://www.mawson.com/street/courses.html
The link above is my test page I'm working on. My rollovers
are workin fine in IE6 and FireFox. It figures that with the new MS
    browser stuff stops working.
The problem is that the rollovers seem very fussy. For
example: I have rollovers on Courses & RiderCoaches. If you go
to Couses the rollover show up, but when you move the mouse over to
select the rollover it disapears. Can anyone help.
    I'm using CSS:

    And javascript

    Any help would be great

  • Disjointed rollover problem

Hi everyone.. I am trying to create a slideshow using
disjointed rollovers. I have several (16 so far) thumbnail images
and want to display fullsize images in one common area. The
problem: as I add more images, the earlier ones become blocked from
view. It appears to have something in front of it of the same size
and shape as the images I'm using, and the same color as the
background. The use of layers doesn't seem to make a difference.
The more images I add, the more (earlier ones) become blocked.
    Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Here is the URL: It's not ready to be live, so may be slow.
    Thanks for looking.
    http://www.so-fsbo.com/ss2.htm
As for my method: I am open to suggestions for a better way
to accomplish what is seen at link, above.
But here is what I did. The exact method is (copied from
    Fireworks F1):
To attach a disjoint rollover to a selected image:
Choose Edit > Insert > Slice to attach a slice to the
    trigger image.
Create a new frame by clicking the New/Duplicate Frame button
    in the Frames panel.
Place a second image, to be used as the target, in the new
frame in the desired location on the canvas. You can place the
image anywhere other than beneath the slice you created in step 1.
Select the image, and then choose Edit > Insert > Slice
to attach a slice to the image.
Select Frame 1 in the Frames panel to return to the frame
    that has the original image.
Select the slice, hotspot, or button that covers the trigger
area (the original image) and place the pointer over the behavior
handle. The pointer changes into a hand.
Drag the behavior handle for the trigger slice to the target
slice you created in step 4.
The behavior line extends from the center of the trigger to
the upper left corner of the target slice, and the Swap Image
    dialog box opens.
From the Swap Image From pop-up menu, select the frame you
created in step 2, and click OK.
Click the Preview tab to view and test the disjoint rollover.

  • Display problem in DW8

    Dear forum,
As i'm upgrading from dreamweaver MX to dreamweaver 8.0 i
opened my old page design in DW8 and all my pictures are not
displaying in either page or subpage. Only the picture logo is
    displaying instead.
When i'm renewing the image or just link it to its position
on the local directory it's not displaying either.
What's the problem of this or is it just a preference which i
haven't adjusted. Is the directory structure altered and do i have
    to rename the image directory.

Show us this page, please. DW8 is much more strict about
    valid code than
    DMX was.

  • FTP Setup Problem in DW8

I'm having problems with setting up FTP settings for new
sites that I set up in Dreamweaver 8. I set up all the details
correctly on the Remote Info panel and click the "Test" button and
it comes back as "Macromedia Dreamweaver connected to your
webserver successful" - all OK up to here, I click OK, Done etc.
When I want to FTP the files to the server the "Connect to remote
host" icon (to 2 power plugs) is greyed out and can't be clicked.
The ONLY way I can get it all to work is if I set up all the
site settings (in the same way I do in DW8) in DW2004, then Export
it and Import it to DW8. Although this seems to work every time, it
is an pain in the butt.
Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.
    Using: WinXP SP2, DW8 (8.0.2).

This almost always means that your site is not properly
    defined.
Please go to SITES | Manage Sites..., select the site name,
    and click on
Edit. Click on the Advanced tab at the top. Tell me the
    following -
    Under LOCAL INFO
The contents of "Local root folder:"
    Under REMOTE INFO
    The contents of "Host directory:"
Do you have a testing server?
    Under TESTING SERVER
    The contents of "Server model:"
    The contents of "Access:"
The contents of "Testing server folder:"
    The contents of "URL prefix:"
(You may not see these last 3 items if you have "None" in the
    first)

  • Rollover problem

    Hi,
I'm currently making my art website. I have a gallery page
with thumbnails around the border and when you rollover them a
bigger version appears in the centre of the page.
My problem is that even though I have put hide onload on the
larger image, when you go to the page you can still visibly see all
    the large images load-up....
Anyone know how I can stop this happening?
    Thanks alot!

Remove the hide onload. Select the layers in DW. Hide each
    using the
Property inspector. They will load hidden.
How many layer images, and how heavy are they, by the way?

  • Rollover problem when page viewed in IE7

Has anyone else come across the same problem:
I have made a navigation bar that uses rollover images in
    Fireworks.
The nav bar works fine when viewing the page in IE6 but when
viewed in IE7 the rollover image seems to try and shrink by one or
two pixels producing a squashed effect.
I have tested this on three different machines running IE7
and all of them produces the same problem, viewing the same nav bar
in IE6 is fine in all three.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Audio on button rollover problem

Very very weird problem as I have six buttons in an Edge project all have the correct audiomp3 and ogg files dragged to the stage.
4 of the files play perfectly on mouseover but two do not.
    I already did the obvious:
    re did the files
re imported under a different name
pulled the problematic audio and inserted that with different buttons in ANOTHER test file and STILl either the audio plays once and thats it or it plays once and then plays backwards on another mouseover.
If I have to I can upload a file as this kinda stuff really irks me.
    Can I upload  the file?
    R

FIXED IT!! Both the button image and rollover image were
saved as Buttons. Converting the rollover image to a Graphic solved
the problem. Now when I click my Pig, he turns into a juicy ham.

Above Example, when i rollover in datagrid  lastcolor(0x49FFAD)  willbe get.but  I want Apply two colors for when i  rollover in datagrid...Any
    example,Plz clarify...

rollOverColor doesn't accept multiple values by default, so you'll have to override it yourself.
or create a custom component for your item renderer, a custom canvas acting on rollOver would be a good bet

  • Rollover problem - rollover area and rollover caption appear simultaneously. Mouse has no effect.

Greetings - I am a new user of Captivate 7, subscription version.  I am taking tutorials and cannot get the rollover caption and area to work.  They simply appear as two objects.  Mousing does not affect appears or disappearance of the caption.  What am I doing wrong?  TIA

This may seem like a stupid question, but how are you watching the project? Simply playing the slide (using F3 or pressing the play button in the timeline) won't show interactive objects working. Use:
F4 (to preview the whole project within Captivate)
F10 (to preview a certain number of slides in Captivate starting with the current one--default is 5 slides)
F12 (to preview as a swf in the web browser)
or... I think it's F11 that previews as html5 output in a browser, although I don't use Captivate 7 so I don't know for sure
Edit: woops, looks like Lilybiri beat me to it

  • ROLLOVER PROBLEMS IN EXPLORER

    Hi,
I'm probably being really dumb - being new to Dreamweaver -
but, having created rollover images which view fine in Safari, they
won't work in Explorer. All you get is the little red box with
cross in it, when you rollover the image. Can anyone please tell me
why this is!? And, how to solve it!?
They were created in Fireworks - really simple in that the
new 'rollover' image has a glow on it. Nothing eloborate - but
    Explorer doesn't like it! Help!
    Thanks!!!!
