Rollup is going nowhere.

Hi Gurus;
I am having this issues sometimes for one of our cube. While doing the rollup for the aggregates it gets hunged and go nowhere. For example even for few hundreds records it's takes all nights all day if we keep the job and finally we have to cancelled the job manually. In tcode SM66; when we double click on the process and scrolled down at the bottom, we can see one aggregates let's say 100240 seems like the problems. I checked that particular aggregates in RSRV and it seems to be fine. After we deactivate that aggregates and do the manual rollup it works fine. It does not happens all the time; since we have daily load in process chain it happens few times a week. These are transactional cubes but during the rollup we are closing all the requests and doing it.
We are in BW 3.0B, SP28, DB2.
Have anyone faced this types of issues?

After lots of tries, and going nowhere, I bit the bait and started a new library

Hi,
After going nowhere with my old B4.1 library, and spending too much time on it, I decided to start fresh, and just export the XMP files, as suggested by several people here.
After a failed attempt at exporting all of the 24,000 pictures XMPs (left the computer doing it at the night but when I came LR had crashed), I decided to export only the last year of photos (where adjustments were mostly made with LR). It took a while, failed to do that for 2 pictures (over 5,500 or so), but it finished.
So, yesterday I moved around the pictures in my HD (a reorder was needed anyway), and start the import... finished today, it gave some problems ("different files had different errors" but the errors were nowhere to be seen, I believe some of them are related to PSD without the compatibility flag, but without the exact error that LR is seeing, it's really hard to know, or worse, to fix it - another thing that IMHO needs to be solved) with some files, but almost all of the photos were in.
I had also been thinking about using DNG for a long while (I always use raw in my camera, a 20D and previously a Digital Rebel)... and this morning I decided to convert all of my library to DNG. It's been working for a big while (Activity Monitor displays 4 hours and a half of CPU time for LR), after a crash when doing the first 1,500 or so. Anyway, it has still maybe 65% of my library to go, so it's going to take easily all day. Fortunately this operation uses several threads/processors, not like the exporting of XMP, that seems to use only one, which is... well... 1/4 of the processing power of my mac :-) (hint hint Adobe!)
Anyway, let's hope tomorrow I can finally start working and seeing the new things that the release version of LR has. Have read some reviews and parts of the manual, and it really looks promising.
Thanks Sean and Geoff for the help with my corrupted library, I still haven't got answer from Adobe customer service (no surprise here, I'm still waiting for response or at least aknowledge from a case I opened almost 15 days ago...), but maybe it's better starting with a new library than reimporting an old one in who knows what conditions...

Well... too late :-)... as I said, it only crashed me once, and I really don't know why. I see that another thread is running, "Acumulating metadata" that I would like to stop, but it doesn't seem to stop. So far everything has been running smoothly, so I expect the 65% that still needs processing will end correctly.
If I get some problem I'll with smaller batches... but I sure hope this ends by itself. I still get the creeps of thinking of going picture by picture as I did some days ago trying to fix my library import issues...

Is the Adobe CD a MAC app ?
If it is a program for Windows you will not be able to install it.
If you nedd that program you can either buy the equivalent for Mac or install a way to run Windows under Mac (may be a cheaper solution)

I'd keep trying the other way. You may have hit it when BC was doing an update or something. If it works one way it should work the other way. But sometimes BC can be kind of temperamental and you have to do a little dance or something to get it to work. But it generally comes around and fixes itself in short time.

Constant 27.0 beta notifications. More information link goes nowhere and install doesn't happen. Notifications are really annoying!

I am constantly presented with an "update available" message (27.0 beta) but the update never downloads and the link to more information goes to your "Ooops" page. I see to be on the Beta update path. My browser is currently 26.0.

You may have been previously using a Firefox beta release and currently have the last Firefox 26.0 beta version and not the Firefox 26.0 release.
Download the full Firefox 26.0 version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean (re)install of this version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop

Can no longer send mail; it sits in my outbox and goes nowhere!

Last night, I used a program from SBC to set up my POP account through that server. For whatever reason, emails now appear in the outbox but never seem to be sent. I receive mail. Connection Doctor was used; no problems. All accounts look the exact same as before. It just doesn't seem to be able to send.
Prior to this, I had a gmail (POP), .Mac, and school (IMAP) account working just fine. I tested sending from all three accounts and their respective SMTP servers to no avail.
I also tried to reinstall just Mail from my installation CD, but that didn't fix the problem. And I deleted and reinstalled, and that didn't work either.

program from them "last night"? Any new account can
be set up in Mail, without the use of any "wizard"
program.
I'm fully aware of this. I had originally set up my account manually, but was having trouble with Mail saving the password to my keychain. In an effort to troubleshoot, I visited the SBC website and found the automated setup wizard. Bad move, it seems.
I vote that the use of this program changed something
about whether SBC will now allow your other SMTP to
relay.

account, then select the same SMTP it uses in each of

No, I cannot send with the new SBC account. If it had worked, I wouldn't be asking about this.
Normally, I use the SMTP for my IMAP account because it's secure and works from anywhere.
If you can't send with the new SBC account, then quit
Mail. In the Finder, open
Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and confirm there is an
Outbox.mbox folder. Drag the Outbox.mbox from the
Mailboxes folder, to the Desktop, and relaunch Mail.
Test sending again.

I've been trying to locate my lost song files on my computer and in my iTunes purchased library. However, when I try to go through itunes purchased to redownload prevously purchased songs, it says they have all been downloaded to my computer. These are the songs that show up with a small "i" in a circle in my library. I click to "locate" but cannot find them anywhere. How can I find them and/or re-download these songs?

Tunes works through a database file which has a list of your tracks. When you click on a track it looks up in the database which file it needs to play, then plays the file. If something breaks this link then you get ! The two main ways to get ! are to move a file from where iTunes expects it to be, or to delete it altogether. I don't know which has happened in your case. You can try using Spotlight to find a file for the one referred to in a broken link. If the files have been moved then they need to be moved back. If they were deleted completely you will have to restore them from a backup or download them again from the iTunes Store and rebuild your library.

Windows install goes nowhere; OS X can't boot

Hello,
This morning I used Bootcamp Assistant to create a 32GB partition. I inserted my Windows 7 DVD and let the assistant reboot my iMac. It got to a blank grey screen and never went any further. I heard the CD drive spin down, and it never made another noise. I let it sit this way for about 10 minutes before I finally gave up and hit the power button. Now the iMac can't boot into OS X. I just get that grey screen with nary an Apple logo. I've tried the key combinations:
* C: no CD is ejected
* Option: grey screen
* Option-Command P-R: waited for 3 different startup tones. Still the grey screen
I made a backup before starting this, so my data is fine, but I can't figure out how to get out of this.
Any ideas?

Thanks, but I've tried holding down the eject key, F12, and the mouse button. None of these startup combinations will eject that Windows DVD. Aside from CMD-Option-P-R, none of the key combinations here does a thing:

HELP! Oracle 8i/RedHat 6.0 installation going nowhere

I downloaded the JRE 1.1.6v5, put it into /usr/local/jre.
I set the DISPLAY to localhost:0.0, set xhost to permit
localhost. But I can't bring up the OUI.
But when I run runinstaller (or runins.sh), it complains saying:
Class not found: oracle.sysman.oii.oii.OiiInstaller
where is this class? what can do I do to make it work? Please
help!!

To change the download folder for Firefox only:
1. Open a new tab to about:config (type about:config in the Awesomebar and tap the go arrow or tap Enter)
2. In the search box, type down and tap Enter
3. Scroll down to browser.download.folderList and tap Modify, then change the value from 1 to 2 (from default always to last used folder). The change should appear after a few seconds.
4. Scroll back up and tap the "Add a New Setting" button
5. String is the correct type, so OK that
6. The name of the preference should be browser.download.dir (this stores the last used directory)
7. The value should be /sdcard/ followed by the folder name you want to use, for example, /sdcard/FxDown
If you switch back to your other tab and download something, it should go to the new folder.

Automatic software update stuck and going nowhere

Had 10.5 on a PPC Macmini, running smoothly, no problems. Ran Software update today and it's stuck on a progress bar now for over an hour installing 10.5. The progress seems stuck 'installing one item' at app 10%. I am tempted to shut down but thought I might get a quick answer here first.

Was it just one update, or many? Which one is it stuck at?
Since you are running 10.5.0 there are many updates available, and installing them all at once might be problematical. Nothing should take an hour to install, but if you are installing a dozen or so updates, it's possible to take a long time.
You might run your activity monitor and see if anything is really happening.
