  • HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) factory image needed

    Hi,
I bought HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) from Karachi 6 months back. Since then it was working fine on jellybean 4.2.2 until i got a system update Message from Hp. So i updated it with kitkat 4.4.2 successfully.
Now the problem is that most of the 3rd party applications doesn't support it. The updated software is working fine but i want to revert back to the jellybean 4.2.2 that originally came with the tablet.
If anyone knows from where can i get the factory image than please share a link.
If anyone have a same model with backup image of original firmware then please contact me on my cell no. [edited Cell Number by Moderator]
    Thankyou.

    Hey @Paracha ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're looking to downgrade back to JellyBean on your HP Slate 6 VoiceTab.
The factory image files are hosted on the HP website for your product. The model you have posted is actually the regulatory information for the battery and not the tablets model. If you can provide me with the exact model I may be able to offer a link to the factory image.
For information on finding your model number please see this guide: Locating the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab model number.
If you would like the file faster you can go to HP - Drivers & Downloads and enter the model number. Once entered you will find the factory image listed under the Drivers section for your device. Keep in mind that typically the Android OS will fault when trying to downgrade and often rooting the device or using third party apps/software is needed to do this which HP cannot provide support for.

  • How to re-install Android on HP Slate 21 when everything was erased?

    Hello,
I recently bought an HP Slate 21 computer with Android system installed. My goal was to customize this Android for a specific purpose for my company. As an experience, I "rooted" this Android, installed some apps to modify the system at root level and, as I spected, the system began to fail at initializing.
I know this experience voided my warranty, but I had in mind that when it happened I was able to format, re-install the original Android and begin the experience again.
I followed and tried many times the tutorial for recovering through "Fast Boot Mode > Recovery Mode > Update/Recover...etc", I downloaded the "update.zip" file, tried it over SD Card and ADB Sideload, get many kinds of errors and nothing worked. Probably because I "rooted" the system and deleted important files.
The last thing I did was a general "clean up" via fastboot commands, as following:
    > fastboot erase boot
    > fastboot erase cache
    > fastboot erase recovery
    > fastboot erase system
    > fastboot erase userdata
Now when I restart the computer it enters on Fast Boot Mode directely and the HP logo is gone. The Recovery Mode option also redirect back to Recovery Mode screen. That's obviously because I erased everything, I know. But I still have the fastboot commands via Terminal and I know that if I had the right files, I would be able to install the original Android again. I tried to "flash" the "update.zip" file via "fastboot update" but I had the following errors:
    archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
    archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
I know it is a shot in the dark but "update.zip" is the only source I know to try to bring the original Android back. I also read about the ROMs and images which do that, so, someone know where I found that image? Can I do that by modifying something in the "update.zip" package? There is some way to get the original Android back? Or I just lost my computer?
    Thanks!

A shot in the dark as you have not mentioned the model you have but perhaps this site for your Jellybean

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums. Most tablets had their recovery images removed for maintenance. Not all tablets have had their update.zip files restored to the driver download page yet. Please be patient and it should be available soon. , The recovery images are available for your tablet here: HP Slate 7 6102ra VoiceTab - Recovery downloads. You can see how to run a recovery below. Please try the following. 1. Download the update.zip for your device and copy the file to the root directory of an empty micro-SD card (at least 1 GB, FAT 32 format). Do not unzip this file. You can find the update.zip for your device in the link above. NOTE: You will need the exact model number to locate the correct package. There are multiple update.zip recovery images available. Ensure you select the correct download for your region. If your tablet does not boot after attempting to update you may need to try both the KitKat and JellyBean images.
    2. Fully charge the tablet and then disconnect the power from the device.
    3. Power off the device.
If your tablets micro-SD slot is on the side or bottom of your tablet skip to step 5.  4a. Place the tablet on a flat surface, display panel side down, with the release notch towards you.
NOTE: Before positioning the tablet with the display panel facing down, make sure the work surface is clear of any foreign objects. Failure to follow this caution can result in damage to the display panel assembly.
4b. Remove the back cover. Use the release notch to remove the back cover.
4c. Insert the micro-SD memory card into the reader slot.
4d. Reverse the procedure detailed above to install the back cover and continue to step 6. 5. Insert the micro-SD card into the micro-SD card reader.
    6. Press and hold the volume up button and power button at the same time.
    7. When the HP logo appears on the screen, release all the buttons.
    8. When the Android system recovery menu appears, use the volume down button to highlight "apply update from external storage".
    9. Press the power button to validate "apply update from external storage".
    10. Use the volume down button to highlight the software recovery file, update.zip.
    11. Press the power button to select the update.zip file and launch the recovery.
NOTE: Wait until the entire recovery process finishes. The device might seem unresponsive at times (multiple reboots and black screens) when it is performing the update. If this does not resolve the issue please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Factory reset issue on Slate 21: "Unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped"

I tried a factory reset via menu+vol- and got stuck after wifi/ethernet selection.. wait a sec... message. It keeps on aborting after that giving me the "Unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped" message. It goes on on a loop.No more slate 21!..Does anyone have a fix for that?

Hey , Considering your post here http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Android-Tablets-e-g-HP-Slate-7/Slate-21-s100-Pro-Android-4-4-2-KitKat-Problem-with-launcher/m-p/5180203#M22927 it looks like you rooted and installed a custom ROM on your device.  HP does not support custom recoveries and ROMs. You will need to seek support from a third party. If you re-locked your device and restored the default recovery (which I don't believe HP offers, only the image, so you'd have needed to make a backup manually) I may be able to make some suggestions. It's also possible that you bricked your device. Thanks.

  • Satellite A100-049 - CD ROM drive no longer found

My satellite A100-049 no longer sees my CD rom drive, It won't auto play any discs, and when I double click a shortcut to a program that uses a disc it says 'no cd-rom drive found'.
I've tried updating the driver but I already have the most up to date one. It was fine yesterday, before I installed Norton 360- I don't know if that has anything to do with it. My operating system is vista home premium.
I really need help quickly as I'm going to university in under 3 weeks and the cd rom drive is vital to my course.

    Hi Michael
Its very strange that your CD/DVD drive does not work longer after the Norton 360 installation. For me it looks like the Norton 360 has modified some registry keys and therefore the drive malfunctions.
I would recommend removing the CD/DVD drive from the device manager.
Then restart the notebook. After new reboot the windows OS should recognize the new hardware (CD/DVD drive) and should install it again.
Then start the registry and remove the upper and lower filter values from this registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    then reboot and test again!
Good luck and cheers dude ;)

Project ROME is a great tool to  create branded collateral quickly and easily!
Actually it is not... As long as we cannot import vector artwork from AI or other apps, this is useless. I would even go so far as to say unless this has a way of correctly dealing with CMYK and process colors it probably never will. It's a case of "It all looks pretty on screen but my print shop wants CMYK" or "it looks awful wehn printed" (due to lack of proper CM). And no offense to the kids, "branding" is not popping on your company logo on everything. Branding means producing a consistent, recognizable visual style based on a set of predefined elements and styles, which ROME does not allow us currently. We cannot store colors, object styles, font styles, use our own custom fonts and whatnot. Additionally, to be usable for establishing a branding regime inside an organisation, we would have to have a way of restricting use of specific things and lock down design elements, something which ROME doesn't do, either. so for what it's worrth, it allows some level of producing similar designs, but none of which I would call usable branding...

  • OS Reinstallation on Portege 2000 with non IDE CD-ROM

    Hello,
I recently received from my Dad a Portege 2000 (bought in Japan if that makes a difference) on which I am trying to reinstall Win XP from the provided Recovery CDs (there are 3 CDs containing Win XP Pro and Win 2000).
I am trying to do this with a USB FDD and a PCMCIA Sony CRX75A CD-Rom which connects to the computer via a other manufacture PC Card ACR-A01 switchable between 16 bit and CardBus mode).
As I am not very familiar with DOS, CardBus and booting stuff I read quite some topics and found the following application, BootdiskP2000.EXE which contains drivers for PCMCIA and USB Toshiba CD-ROM. So I ran it and when choosing external PCMCIA CD Drive from the menu, I got the following:
PC Card driver for external ATAPI-IDE Drives Rev:2203
Found PCCARD: IO DATA CBIDE2 V4.1
ERROR: There is no PCCARD in socket A and B!
    PCCARD not initialized!!
So, I looked on the web for DOS Drivers for my ACR-A01 and found DUAOTA16.SYS and DUOATACD.SYS. I then modified my CONFIG.SYS (again maybe not correctly as I am not at ease with that) by adding a menuitem, and further on:
    [SONY]
    DEVICE=A:\DUOATA16.SYS
    DEVICE=A:\DUOATACD.SYS /D:TOSCD001
When running it, I get the followings:
DuoATA16 CS Client Driver Version 1.01
    Copyright....
    CBIDE2: Not found CardServices.
    Driver is not installed.
    DuoATACD CD-ROM Driver Version 1.06
    Copyright....
    IDECD: Not Configuration CBIDE2 Card.
    CD-ROM driver is not installed.
If have a look on the HISTORY.TXT file from the boot disk, at the end it is written: "If you use it with other CD-Roms, you have to modify/exchange normaly the CD-Rom driver (e.g. Toscdrom.sys-file!) and the driver, over which you get access to the PCMCIA Card (Fcatapi.sys and FCPoint.exe)." but I have no idea with what I'd have to replace it.
Last point, my BIOS settings on page 2 are: Device Config.=All Devices which allows me to set PC CARD Controller Mode=CardBus/16-Bit, and by the way the onther manufacture CD-ROM used to work fine with the Portege but with a Win XP driver.
Anyone has an idea of what is going on here, because I'm kind of lost. Thanx a lot!!!
P.S I also tried to boot via PXE-LAN from a PC running Win Server 2003 but that doesn't work either, but I'll start a new topic for that.

And why you don´t try maybe a USB-DVD-ROM? A USB will be recognized for sure. I installed on my Portege R200 a XP Pro with a USB-DVD-ROM.

  • IMac DV G3 400MHz will not boot with OS8.6 or 9.2.2 CD-ROMs

Here is the situation: I have burned copies of the install disks for OS 8.6 and OS 9.2.2 that I wish to install onto our iMac DV. I insert them into the computer while running OS X and it reads it correctly. However, when I attempt to boot from the CD, it skips it and starts booting from the hard drive.
When I am in OS X, I check the Startup Disk preference, and I set it to the CD-ROM, which it detects as containing a system folder. Then when I reboot, it continues to skip the CD and go right to the hard drive.
When the hard drive is formatted and does not contain an OS, and it only has the CD-ROM inside, it gives the Missing System Folder icon upon boot.
The machine has Firmware 4.1.9 and works well in OS X. It is currently formatted with five partitions on a 10GB hard drive, all formatted as Mac OS Extended. All partitions have the OS 9 drivers within. It has a 400MHz G3 with 256MB RAM.
    Any thoughts?

While I am working on acquiring a pressed version of OS 9.0 and OS 8.6, I have additional information for you: I am able to boot and install from burned media for OS 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 on this machine (which is an Orange iMac DV per the above note about the SE version). This tells me the machine can boot from burned media, but not into those OSes.
Another interesting fact: on a hunch, I copied the System Folder from the OS 9 install disk to the root of one of the hard drive's partitions, and then switched the Startup preference to that folder and tried it. It booted far enough into OS 9 to give me a happy Mac icon, then show the Mac OS 9.0 logo, but then popped up a message saying that the media was only able to boot from a removable drive, and that I would have to restart. Predictable, to be sure, but it shows the machine is at least capable of booting to OS9 somehow...

  • K7T Turbo LE - Windows XP Pro SP-1 is not detecting my CD ROM drive I used to install XP Pro !!!!!!!

This is an XP driver issue that I'm not sure how to resolve.
This is a brand new K7T Turbo (MS-6330) Limited Edition motherboard (red-colored board, not green), Ver. 3 (no RAID controller on-board)
PSU is 400w (I tried another PSU, same issue)
    Athlon 850MHz socket-A
    CD-ROM drive - Yamaha CDR2100E 16x10x40  UDMA-1
The BIOS is 3.6, updated prior to Windows XP's installation
The VIA 4-in-1 drivers were updated with the latest available on MSI's website for the 6330
2 hard drives installed on the primary controller - one set to master, one set to slave
CD-ROM drive is the only device on the secondary controller, set to master with no slave, and is plugged-into the end IDE cable connector
The board detects the cd drive, and I even installed Windows XP Pro WITH this cd-rom drive, installed as currently configured, which is what pisses me off.  I've installed XP four times today, try different things between installs, and nothing.  The drive works FINE outside of XP, but as soon as XP starts, the drive disappears and XP doesn't even detect it.  Also, while booting up, the start screen will lock up (activity bar freezes and hard drive activity stops) for about ten seconds (but everything's hooked-up right... I'm not a PC rookie!).
