Rookie that needs help
Hi,
I have a couple of problems, and i've been searching and searching but haven't been able to find any solution to them. I hope that i can get some help from any of the guys in the forum..
So this is the deal:
1. I have a spreadsheet and i want to create a drop-down menu, but i can't. So if i enter a couple of names, i want to be able to choose from a number of names from a drop-down menu instead of having to enter each name multiple times. How do i do it?
2. In the same spreadsheet, it's a quiz results spreadsheet, each person gets a score per each quiz. So for instance "Karl" has participated in done 4 quizs(es? How do i spell multiple quiz..es) and gotten 5,6,7,8 points. I then want the spreadsheet to collect all data from that person and summarize it, so i don't have to manually have to enter C2F2G2 etc etc. Any clues how to do that?
I've tried to find answers in the default "Training report" template, but haven't been able to figure it out..
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance, hope i didn't miss any info regarding my problems.

You download *_Numbers User Guide_* from the Help menu then you study this page :

If I understand well, you wish to sum value from a row excluding cells of columns A and B
*=SUM($C2:$W2)* will do the trick assuming of course that the column W really exists.

But to answer your questions. A DIV tag is a container that
you put your
content into...images, text, menus. All DIV tags go in the
body (between the
<body> and </body> tag.)
The css is what governs how the DIV will look, be positioned
etc, the rules
for that DIV. The CSS goes in the head tag (between the
<head> and
</head>tag) .
A footer DIV is nothing more than a DIV that has been named
footer, and has
no real significance to the tag itself.

Hi all.
I've been using GB for a few years now. I love this program.
In my projects I felt like I needed a little more power so I upgraded to Logic Pro about a year ago. This program is so huge that I got my hands on a DVD video tutorial set by MacProVideo.com. I am learning something new by the minute. Really cool.
Then I was looking at their site today and saw that they have a DVD for Garageband. I checked out the samples and found a tip that I was unaware of. I haven't learned anything new about GB in 6 months to a year, especially something as potentially useful as this:

I'm sure some of you may already know about this (Hang, I'm looking at you) but I never did. This got me thinking that this DVD tutorial could help out anybody that's just starting out. You could have a thorough understanding of Garageband in an afternoon. And it's very reasonably priced for what you would be getting.
I am in no way affiliated with MacProVideo.com. I am just passing on a way to learn that I don't think has been covered on this forum yet. The DVD series I have for Logic has done WONDERS for me, so I assume that the DVD for GB will do wonders for anybody just starting out.

NEWBIE THATS NEEDS HELP ( wiped blueberry)
Firstly may i say hi to every one and now to my problem
ok your all going to think im a complete wazzuk
im new to the blackberry (not a clue) i was given an 8800 which didnt come with any disks
but was told i can dl them on this website , which i did..the latest desktop application
anyways....it told me i need to update my phone and like an **bleep** i pressed next
about half way thru the eraseing and downloading my pc came up with an ERROR
and now im left with just a white screen with a small box in the middle and a cross going thru it
can some 1 please tell me i can fix this and how or have i just broken the thing for ever
ive looked on the pc to see if it had backuped up the device(which i dont think it had)
so there must be a way i can download a new os on the blackberry
please can any 1 help

Just another person that needs help, yes in a rush and yes is very upset
I installed the ipod program into another computer today and when I went to open it all my songs were gone. On the computer it was orginally on I have all my songs in my library but can't put them into my ipod. it won't let me. i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and all my songs were still there but I still couldnt transfer them into my ipod. Mean while the program is working on the other computer but I have all my songs on the other computer. Please help me get my music back into my ipod. please!!!!!
if you installed iTunes on a new computer, there will be no music in the Library since it was a clean install
you either need to:
1) start downloading/importing music from iTMS or ripping CDs
2) or copy the contents of your iPod into iTunes
with your ipod connected, go to iTunes--Preferences--iPod
change Automatically Manage to Manually Manage songs -

Em..i just need some advice about choosing correct career path.I graduated with a first class in IT with business information science in 2009. In 2009 after looking for jobs for few months i took a manager post in a petrol station which i never wanted.(Due to the credit crunch & the Family financial reasons) .Then unfortunately i had to stay out of work for 18months due to a serious spinal code operation i had to face.now in 2011 July im fit & ready to start my life again. but im lost where to start/ which career path to choose. (i've still got the job at the petrol station as the manager)
ive liked data base management subject when i was in the University so, Ive been reading OCA-051 & interested on OCA qualification I just want to know what are the possible jobs i can apply if i get the certification? Basically what should i do to get any IT related job? :( ( i dont like programming)..

Thanks.You'll sit on your bum and ruin your back again with most IT jobs. With your government shrinking, OCA qualification won't have much worth unless you personally know someone in the private sector that needs help. An operator job with your petrol company (assuming it's not just a mom 'n pop station) would probably require heavy lifting.
IT is a good, solid, growing career path, but most of the work is still programming, and most ways up to better jobs go through that experience. You might be an exception if you have a way to join other skills with your IT education, such as business analysis or sales or web prettyfying. Perhaps the determinants are your personality and goals.
I know, it's tough, but if you are honest with yourself and check out some of the "what color is my parachute" kinds of career advice books, you can find a happy medium. There actually are some benefits in starting a career during economically troubled times, but you only see that in retrospect. You have to decide on goals, pursue them vigorously, and reevaluate when it doesn't work for you. -

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

Long-time Eudora user, rookie Mail user--have questions, need help!
Hi, all!
As the subject heading says, I've been using Eudora for a very long time (way past its shelf life) and have been playing around with Mail off and on over the past year. (Now, in Eudora's defense, the expiration date on it was a "Best by..." not a "Use by..." date and it's been working fantastically for years! )
I recently started to plunge into Mail more deeply and have a couple of questions.
1. Drafting vs. queuing.
I am used to Eudora's system where a bunch of drafted messages sit in an Outbox. They stay there until I flag QUEUE for the ones I'll eventually be mailing.
It's a good system. A quick look at the flags in the Outobx lets me know which I still to need to work on, and which ones are ready to go out (or need a final review before sending). The user then selects "Send Messages" and it e-mails the ones queued in the Outbox, but not the remaining draft emails that haven't yet been queued.
How do I set up something like that in Mail?
Right now, all I have is a list of draft messages and I cannot tell which ones are still really drafts and which are ready to be sent!
2. Work-around to try and mirror Eudora's system.
I tried creating a new mailbox called Queue, in which I can park the emails I've done editing. Of course, the problem with such a scheme is that when I want to send messages, I either have to put them back into the Drafts mailbox, from where I can select and send everything (including ones I haven't finished editing!), or drag them into Mail's Outbox where they go out instantly. That's a little freaky and I can see disasters happening (emails going out when I'm wanting to drag other messages to a different mailbox).
3. Disable auto-sending?
Is there a way of turning off and on the Outbox's automatic sending action? That could be the simplest solution for me. I'd really like to send messages only via a menu command--yet, from I've determined, Mail's Send menu command will send any messages selected in the Draft mailbox. Again, I see screw-ups with that as the wrong draft could be selected and Mail would send it out.
4. Display of badges for mailboxes.
This is more of a curiosity, but is there a way of having a user-created mailbox show how many e-mails are in there?

What do you all do as to work flow? How do you go about creating and revising a bunch of e-mails, but only sending out certain ones? And ensuring that only the ones you want to go out, go out?!Thank you for posting all this info. Unfortunately i have no idea how to do flags and how to use a smart mailbox as a place to store emails i am not ready to send. Eudora is vastly superior in all the things it empowers the user to quickly and easily do, in the traditional Apple spirit of intuitiveness, clear direct normal (not esoteric) communicatioin and user friendliness.
about three weeks ago i was pretty much forced into Mountain Lion bcause my old MacBook is barely functioning at all and i got a new MacBook Pro. So, good bye Eudora that i've used since 1995, only because i couldn't find another mail program that did what it does. I wonder why there aren't others. I've tried MailForge, it's a great attempt but it seems to have run out of steam and isn't working well enough.
I am using Mail and Gmail. The result is i'm suffering a whole range of loss of functionality in email, and am not getting a lot of messages, they are here somewhere but i can't always find them, i have to go to my old computer, enduring a kind of freeze where a beachball is a sign of progress, a trackpad that barely works for drag and drop anymore and a battery that needs reaplacing. i think the hard drive is failing. but i still need it to retrieve my email reliably, to a poiint where i see i 'm going to have to put money into it so it can keep working, for email. what a poor solution. I am trying as best i can to have Mail communicate better.
i just wanted to thank you for your encouraging posts and giving me something to follow up on to try to use, to address this one of many loss of Eudora problems. Why wouldn't a mail program give you the option to queue mail? Why take away options and functionality? sorry, i'm just ranting because i've had a very frustrating last few weeks related to numerous new OS challenges, but email is the only really serious one.
I really like your idea of badges to show number of new messages, i think that's what you meant, you didn't say 'new', but another great and helpful thing about Eudroa is sorting mail into mail boxes and opening those mailboxes that get new mail each time you download mail, so you kow what's new. You can immediately see it. In Apple Mail, i find i have to dig through each of the 12 'on my mac' mailboxes/folders i created so far, to see if there is new mail in them. A lot of extra trouble for something that a superior email program can do for you. -
I Just updated my iPhone 4 to 7.1 oS. I am unable to connet to any network. I keep getting the "searching" No Service" messages on the top let corner of the screen. I also get a notice that says " "Unable to load network list. I need help... How can one resolve this issue?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -

I need help to import and synchronize HCM pagelets with Interaction Hub, how can I do that? The default page "Select Remote Content" of the WorkCenter "Unified Navigation WorkCenter" is not working as well, when I run the import/sync button I get the following error message:
Integration Gateway: General Connection Failed (158,10836)
This error is thrown when there is no valid response.
Possible errors include:
Bad gateway URL
Sync Service Timeout set and Service actually timed out.
Java exception thrown - Check Application Server for possible Java exceptionDo you have integration configured between the two systems? It sounds like you don't from the error. Here is a walk-through on setting up Unified Navigation although it assumes you have integration already working. If you haven't done that, it's documented a hundred different places.
