Room Delegate issues in Exchange 2007 standard

I have created 3 rooms in Exchange. There is a delegate that is scheduling in the rooms on a regular basis.
Issue #1: She receives the request but when she accepts it the object shows up on her calendar instead of the associated room.
Issue #2: The room calendar does not show free/busy to all users needing to use this room.
Issue #3: These rooms need to be available 24/7 but they all seem to have their own times.
I have given her full access and checked on the shell to assure that everything is enabled and it looks to be correct. All users can see the rooms but they look to be available when things are already scheduled in them.
Can someone assist?

If Comcast specifies a specific port, that's probably for sending mail to their server, and then they send it on the recipient servers. It looks like that port lets you connect to smtp.comcast.net, which would be entered in Exchange as the Smart Host Server
for outgoing mail.
For incoming mail there are services that will collect your mail and forward it to you on non-standard ports. All of the mail hygiene companies work that way for example. Most of them will also support your outgoing mail so you can avoid Comcast completely.

  • Autodiscover issue in exchange 2007

    Hello,
I had everything setup and working with autodiscover for years now. When I applied Exchange 2007 SP3 Rollup Update 12 now when I create a new user and it should automatically create the profile within outlook 2007. It does not create it. I tested the autodiscover
from my own outlook and it says everything is fine. I am not sure what has changed to stopit from working.
    I have the following
    Windows 2003 Standard 64bit
    Exchange 2007 SP3
    OUtlook 2007 Clients
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

When I applied Exchange 2007 SP3 Rollup Update 12 now when I create a new user and it should automatically create the profile within outlook 2007.
    Hi,
About the content above, I have a different opinion. (If I misunderstand, please correct me.)
When Outlook runs for the first time (not add a user into Outlook), the profile is created automatically using the name "Default Outlook Profile."
The created profile runs whenever we start Outlook.
When we add additional accounts into Outlook, we should create new profiles manually.
In addition to the profile issue, is there any other issue?
Something like Outlook cannot connect to Exchange server or etc. ?
Feel free to contact me if there is any question.
    Thanks

    Hi Akebono,
Let's check a few things in your server:
    1. From the Organization Configuration - Client Access - Exchange Activesync policies - Default: Verify if the option "Allow non-provisionable devices" is ON.
    2. From Server Configuration - pointing <YourExchange2010> - Certificates: Verify if your SSL certificate is assigned to IIS. (You should also be able to see this certificate from OWA https session)
    3. The problem may also reside in iPhone outdated software, try to test activesync connection from iPhone with the latest OS version.
    4. Take a look at logs in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1\ of Exchange 2010, those might give some more details on connectivity problems.
    5. If you still experience such problems - post the ExRCA error report here.

  • Issue removing Exchange 2007 after migration to 2013

After migrating relatively successfully from Exchange 2007 to 2013, I am in the process of trying to decommission and uninstall 2007 from the servers. Through this process I have been following a guide found
here. Our old 2007 servers have been off for over two weeks and it seems like a good time to remove them and reclaim some space. I removed the old OAB and Mailbox DB, however when I attempted to remove the Public Folders so I could take the PF DB out the
    following error appeared.
Get-PublicFolder : There is no existing PublicFolder that matches the following Identity: '\'.
I know that there are Public Folders existing as I can see them when I run Get-PublicFolderStatistics:
I've been back and forth across the forums and web and haven't been able to find a solution to this. Ultimately we never have and are not interested in using public folders but they were originally configured when we had a contractor move us from 2003 >
2007 several years ago. What I would like is to remove all traces of this garbage and just be able to uninstall/delete the old servers and move on with life.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Have you tried to use Exfolders tool to remove PF?
More details about exfolders tool refer to the following article:

  • Weird ActiveSync issue with Exchange 2007-iPhone 3Gs

I have a relatively new iPhone 3Gs. I am using Exchange 2007 (SP1). I am also using a product called Add2Exchange ("A2E"), which runs on the Exchange server and synchronizes two calendars. Seems to mostly work OK.
Here's the behavior: I create a new all-day event in UserA's calendar. It gets copied by A2E to UserB's calendar. They both get sync'd via ActiveSync to both iPhones. All correct so far. Outlook 2007 also agrees.
UserA then edits the event to give it a time, as example use 8-9am Weds. It then syncs to UserA's iPhone correctly. A2E migrates it to UserB, and UserB sees it correctly in Outlook 2007. HOWEVER, in UserB's iPhone it appears as all day event that has moved to Thurs (the next day). If I edit the title of the event, it migrates to all copies (but the incorrect all-day time in UserB's iPhone stays).
I have also turned OFF Calendar sync in iPhoneB, told it to delete all events, then reenabled it and had it resync. The event still comes back as the all-day event on the incorrect day.
Since Outlook reflects the correct thing I strongly suspect that Exchange database is correct and that iPhone for some reason isn't re-updating the date/time. Any insights appreciated.
    Thanks.
    -Jon C.

The event viewer shows no ActiveSync errors for the user.  I tried to connect to the account from my Windows phone and it set up ok with no errors (the user tells me that the account setup on the phone went ok too, all green checks) but when it was
doing the initial sync, it just seemed to hang with a message saying something like "syncing, this could take a while" or something to that effect.
The Remote Connectivity analyzer came back with a timeout error for the Inbox sync step as well.

  • Issue with Exchange 2007 SP3/Outlook 2010 User account Auto accepting Appointments

    0
    Hi
I have an issue with 2 users who's appointments are being Auto-accepted or Auto Declined. As these are User Mailboxes there is no resource scheduling set on these. I've also checked for delegates (none), Rules (including running outlook.exe /cleanrules).
If I send the user some test appointments when they are not logged into Outlook, the appointments are not processed. If the user logs in through OWA then the appointments are not processed. When the user logs into Outlook 2010 (using Mapi) the appointments
are processed within 5-10 minutes. I started to think it may be a PC issue, something buried in the registry. But I give myself full access to the account and logged in from my machine using Outlook 2010, the appointments are auto processed, again, within
    5- 10 minutes .
Lots of stuff on the internet all pointing to Resource scheduling, delegates or Rules but I have now discounted all of these.
If I check the users MailboxCalendarSettings, AutomateProcessing is set to AutoUpdate and not AutoAccept. The Outlook Client has all settings in Resource Scheduling unticked.
    Thanks
    Darran

    Hi Darran,
If there is no delegate configured, no rules and calendar processing is also set properly, please switch Outlook to Online mode to check whether the issue persists. Also close Outlook and receive test meeting request directly in OWA to double check the mailbox
would not automatically process the meeting in OWA.
If the issue happens in Outlook Online mode but not continues in OWA, please restart Outlook in safe mode or change a new computer with fresh Outlook 2010 to have a try.
    Thanks,

We are in the process of decommissioning our Blackberry Enterprise Server, and down to one user.  I am able to setup Exchange on his new non BES server tied phone, but it will not sync any email, all Meetings, and only some contacts.  I have tried

  • Exchange 2007 size limits

Is there a Mailbox and DB size limit in Exchange 2007 ? If so what are they ?
    PatBoySlim

    Hi,
The default database size limit for Exchange 2007 Standard Edition is 50 gigabytes (GB).
There is no default database size limit for the Exchange 2007 Enterprise Edition.
    Refer from
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232092(EXCHG.80).aspx
By default, the mailbox Storage Quotas limit will follow the database Storage Quotas limit.

  • Cfexchangeconnection on Coldfusion 9 and Exchange 2007

I am experiencing issues with Microsoft Exchange with Coldfusion 9. We recently upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and cannot now successfully connect to Exchange using the cfexchangeconnection tag.
I get the error: 'Access to the Exchange server denied.Ensure that the user name and password are correct.'
I understand there have been some issues with Exchange 2007 and Coldfusion 8 and I have followed all the instructions on Adobe's documentation. However, the username and password are correct.
    1. Exchange server is running on Microsoft Server 2008 (WebDAV component has been enabled)
    2. Security certificate has been downloaded to the correct location on the coldfusion server
    3. Webmail has been activated on Exchange server and username/password credentials work when logging in via the webmail interface.
    4. Formbasedauthentication is set to 'true'.
    5. I have tried setting protocol to both http & https
    6. I have tried using '[email protected]' for the username as well as just 'myusername'
    7. Coldfusion can send out emails via CFMAIL using the same credentials as I entered in the cfexchangeconnection tag.
I would very much appreciate any help anyone could offer.

    Hello Richard,
Do you have any URL redirecting on your environment? This can cause the error mentioned.
If you try to login via OWA to a users mailbox with the impersonation account does it succeed? If it doesn't it is likely the issue is with the permissions applied to the CUC account.
This test was for the UM service account if you run the test for the user does it display a different message? This could help to isolate.
Also make extra sure you applied the permissions to all applicable Exchanges, commonly clients only apply to one of them:
Step 4 If you set permissions on individual Exchange server in Step 2 and you have more than one Exchange 2007 server, repeat Step 1 through Step 3 on the following servers:
•All other Exchange 2007 client access servers that Connection can access.
•All Exchange 2007 mailbox servers that home mailboxes that you want Connection to be able to access.

    Without the S/MIME
control, Cut, Copy, and Paste from the Context Menu worked as expected and I could change email format . When I installed the
    S/MIME
Control, the behavior with the Context Menu was reproducible, and email format is greyed out, but I could use Ctrl +X/C/V to cut, copy and paste.
I searched through internal channel and found this behavior is by design. However, as a workaround for choosing Cut, Copy, or Paste from the Context Menu, we can use Ctrl +X/C/V to cut, copy and paste.

  • Exchange 2007 Storage Groups & Databases

    Hi There!
So I have an Exchange 2007 Standard set up. No problems or anything like that but just after some clarity over storage groups and databases.
I have spent days trying to find the answer and even tried to call MS for help (waste of time).
I understand it is best practise to have 1 database per storage group for performance and for ease for restorations and troubleshooting through system logs. Also understand that each database is pretty much unlimited (16Tb).
    QUESTION
But say you have 2 databases under one storage group are there any databases size restrictions or are the databases connected in anyway or are the databases still unrestricted in size?
Does the Storage Group have anything to do with database sizes or restrictions apart from performance and general admin or is the Storage Group just a container/holding place for databases?
Many thanks for any light on this
    Your LocalITBod

Storage groups allow you to group databases logically and all databases in a single SG share transaction logs.
Individual databases in each SG are independent of each other. The size limits are applicable at each edb file level.
For example, please refer this article carefully...
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/haroldwong/archive/2007/05/04/exchange-server-2007-standard-edition-unlimited-database-size.aspx
With the introduction of Exchange Server 2007, we made some changes to the Standard Edition so that we now support up to 5 Databases and up to 5 Storage Groups with Standard Edition.
Each of these Databases has a size limit of 16 TB (considered "unlimited" for all intense and purposes).

  • Modify the from header depending of destination domain in Exchange 2007

    Hello.
I have an Exchange 2007 organization. One edge and 2 mailbox-cas-hub servers. I want to modify the "From" header depending of destination domain.
For example, if the destination domain is @example.com and the sender is
[email protected], the new sender must be changed to
[email protected] . The user1 has both email address added as smtp address and @newdomain.com was set as primary address to respond and receive emails.
I have tried with transport rule but I cannot create it, because I received an error when I want to modify the "From" value. The command and error message are:
    Command:
    New-TransportRule -Name 'Test' -Comments
    '' -Priority '0' -Enabled $false -From
    '[email protected]' -SentToScope
    'NotInOrganization' -RecipientAddressContainsWords
    '@example.com'
    -SetHeaderName 'From' -SetHeaderValue
    '[email protected]'
    Error:
You can't set header 'From' with value
    '[email protected]'
I have tried without "@" and only with the username, but I got the same error.
I have been the New-AddressRewriteEntry option, but on this command I cannot set a specific destination domain, only it can set an internaldomain and externaldomain parameters.
I would like to resolve this issue with Exchange 2007 tools or commands, but I guess this requirement can be done with a third-party tool, anyone knows any?
    Thanks and regards.

I think what you're trying to do is pretty unusual, at least for Exchange. :-)
I don't know of anything that would run on Exchange that would be able to do that, but I think you can do it with something like Postfix.

  • Exchange 2007 Room Calendar Issues

Hello, on our Exchange 2007 server, we have 6 room mailboxes, all setup exactly alike. One of the mailboxes started not responding to calendar requests. If I schedule a meeting, exchange does it's part, and sends out the invitation, but nothing shows in
the room calendar itself. Besides exporting the existing calendar entries and creating a new mailbox, is there anything I can try?

    Hi   n3lka
    Thank you for your question.
Owing to not respond, you can try to check the mailbox permission.
“nothing show in the room calendar itself”, you can make outlook in cache mode, then, you can try to uncheck option “Download share folders”.
There is a similar thread you can refer to by the following link:

when nothing shows in the room calendar itself, you can try to make another user schedule a meeting, if another user schedule a meeting successful, you can refer to the following link to solve it:

  • Exchange 2007: User getting meeting invitations from 3 meeting rooms

    Hi,
Hope someone can help. I have an Exchange 2007 server with various room mailboxes.  One user is getting meeting room invitations from 3 meeting rooms. He is not a delegate on these meeting rooms, nor does he seem to have special permissions on their
calendars. I checked a couple of persons who ARE delegates, to see if he was a delegate on them in case there was some weird looping thing going on but nothing. I also checked transport rules and there was nothing that could cause this behavior.
Anyone have any ideas, because I don't?
    Thanks.

Not sure that I follow this completely.  My understanding of this issue is that there are 3 or so resource mailboxes who I assume are setup to auto-process incoming meeting request.  For each received meeting request, another user is receiving
a copy of the meeting request, even though he is not listed as a delegate nor are there any rules configured to send to this user.
So my understanding of the question was, why is this user receiving meeting notifications for these calendars/resource mailboxes?
But now it sounds like there is a 3rd person involved.
Are there any calendar folder permissions or settings specifically defined in any of these 3 locations (resource mailbox, user1, colleague)?
Completely remove delegates from all 3 resources & apply the change.  Test to see if the problem still occurs.  If not, re-add all of the users who should be delegates and test again. If they get the message again once delegates are added,
then one of those delegates might be the cause.
For PublicDelegates, open ADSIEdit  and look at the Active Directory properties of each users.  These are attributes on the AD object.  Just open ADSIEDIT.msc, select the defaults in the Connect To window, go to the OU where the users
reside, and view the properties of the users.
