Root pw hack? or what other os can i run on my ultra-2.

Well i scored this machine off ebay for a pretty good price... 55$ shipped.. untested etc.. looked clean and thought id give it a shot. Well i grabbed it. Got it and it was in very good condition..Powered it up and lucky me boots up into the os.... bad thing the seller does not have the root pw since he bought it in a lot of things. I would like to keep solaris on there but if i cant hack the root password it will do me no good. opition 2.... putting another os on... i guess the bad thing is the ultra-2 uses sbus and a lot of OS' will not have the drivers for the devices thus causing you to install 3rd party drivers over a floppy. My ultra-2 has no floppy. I have tried unbuntu but it needs me to install the drivers for the scsi unit over a floppy which i don't have. Are there any OS' i can do a CD-ROM install without having problems with drivers??? This machine is nice indeed for its age.. 1GB ram, 2 9 gig drives and 2 300mhz processors.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download either Solaris 9 or 10... you will need to "sign up" for a basic "membership"... I hope it is still free just to get security updates...
you can also try Aurora Linux (I haven't had much luck with it) or the BSDs (if you are a command line person). Aurora will install on my Sun clones (tatung) but for some reason 2.99 just doesn't like My Suns... Try Aurora 1.0... it seems to install on anything!

I use my computer and phone for business so when updated information does not sync from computer to phone, it causes problems when traveling. i.e. Address for appointment does not appear in iphone. What other phone selections are there to sync with my MacAir? Apple Store said I needed new OS on my MacAir but then they said I did not have enough memory. I learned MacAir memory cannot be expanded.

Aperture 3 quits every time. What other things can I try?

I had a very similar problem with Aperture 2, but now it is all wrong with Aperture 3 as well!
Firstly, I updated my Snow Leopard today to 10.6.2, then installed Aperture 3 and converted the library (I have the Aperture 2 library backed up). All seemed well, but when the library was converted and Aperture started up for the first time it quit unexpectedly.
So then I updated to 3.0.1 and restarted my iMac. Now when I open Aperture 3 it quits after about 15 secs. Just enough time to disable faces, which didn't help.
So updates, restart: what else can I try?

Try this.
Go into your Home folder in the finder, go into "Library/Caches" and move everything inside that folder to the trash.
Reboot your machine and see if the problem has gone away.

Since IOS8 and iMovie 10.0.5, using Theater, I cannot transfer my movie to my iPad. iPad does not see the movie via iCloud. What other ways can I transfer my movie from my iMac to my iPad?

Before installing iOS8 on my iPad, and also updating to iMovie 2.1; and installing the Maverick on my iMac, new movies I make on the iMac and load into Theater do not come over to my iPad. Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer.

What other devices can emit an identified wifi signal that my touch can"see"

When I connect my Touch to WiFi, the list of available Wifi networks also show "other devices" in a separated column. One shows up with a cute name of "computer virus X3" and a little skull icon. It's showing itself as having a unlocked signal. What what can this "Other device" be, if it's not a WiFi router?

I noticed that Libsyn has an option to publish to blogger.
If you wanted to have a wordpress site, do you need to get another web host or can you use the storage of your podcast files, via FTP, to a few pictures, etc. for your podcasts' site?
One consistent complaint with Libsyn is how terrible their websites are, I don't mind blogger, but I'd like to know what my other options are...
Blubrry seems to have wordpress support as a normal feature.

It's just a text field you can associate with a selection. Notes can be applied at the Object, Group, or Layer levels. Use it for whatever information you want. For example, working on an exploded parts diagram, one might choose to name objects (in the Layers palette) by their functional names (relay valve, clutch basket, etc.) and key their part numbers into the Note field. Or working on a die-cut layout, one might target the diecut Layer and key instructions into the note field.
It's just another half-baked feature in Illustrator, half-heartedly duct-taped onto the program (like the poorly implemented Document Info grab-bag palette). A very lame version of object metadata features that other programs provide. For example, Canvas provides a tabular data feature in which you can store multiple columns of information about objects that have been illustrated.

Can you track down Flash 12 to that or a different location?
Regarding session restore, you get the best results when you exit Firefox using the menu. Either:

I purchased am Iphone 4S from ebay. Sellers daughter restored Iphone but didnt remove password. He sent me the password but after entering it a few times after I had already previous tried passwords before I reached him now I have reached the disabled screen and now have the correct password but am unabke to use it due to disabled screen. If you get locked out of your phone with an incorrect passcode, then the only way is to do a restore and for that you need to connect it to iTunes and that is it. No other way to go.

I would recommend you go here first, study the recommendations, and then consider your choices. Another articles would be here, about the UEFI BIOS. About cards, although the recommendation was a GTX260 (outdated), I spec'd a GTX670, see here with better performance. You still need a min of 500W PSU, and I like to follow the power curves, and selected a PSU in the 600-630W range. I like Rosewill 630 and Corsair CX600.
